Welcome back to DL Golf Tips! This is attempt three of four in my mission to break par on the golf course in Ireland—or face a forfeit. And in today’s video, I finally reveal exactly what that forfeit is… 👀

Episode 1 took place at Port Salon Golf Club, and Episode 2 was at the 9 Hole Buncrana Golf Club. If you haven’t watched those yet, I recommend checking them out first to follow the full story.

Now in Episode 3, filmed at the stunning North West Golf Club, I fight harder than I have in a very long time. I haven’t battled this much on the golf course since coming back to the game. I start poorly, but keep grinding, and the round builds into one of the toughest mental tests I’ve faced.

➡️ Will I get closer to breaking par?
➡️ Will the forfeit become real?
➡️ And can I keep the dream alive heading into the final attempt?

Stick around and find out—this one goes right down to the wire.

And they were like screaming. It was so cold. I really don’t want to do that. Oh no. That is knuckled. [Music] That’s close. And another one. We’re fighting. I don’t want to get in that ocean. [Music] Yes, sir. Bad news. You made what? Three birdies out there. Four birdies. Yeah, I think it was four. All right, welcome back to attempt number three. If you’ve been watching, you know it hasn’t been going great here at Northwest. If you’ve been watching this channel where I try and break par at least once over four rounds or I have a pretty vicious forfeit hint behind, but haven’t done it yet. All right. Now, played bonrana this morning. And if you haven’t seen that video, check it out. We’re at Northwest now. What a beautiful place. Beach right here off the side of the first hole. Clubhouse Mountains. First hole behind me. So yeah, let’s get stuck in. Breezy today. Game did not feel good. If you probably watch that one video, you know it’s bit suspect, but let’s get stuck into this. See how we do. All right, guys. Let’s do this. I’m looking forward to this one. I hope you’ll enjoy it. First hole, 435 yds. I mean, it is blowing like mad. This one just leaking a little bit to the right. It just found the rough. All right, I’m going to chance. That wind’s kind of down off the left a bit, isn’t it? That way my favorite wind off the left. Oh no, that is knuckled. Sit. Geez. That folks is a flyer. All right, we overshot it. I say a flyer. This is along with the green sitting down like a I don’t know like like I don’t know what. Not nice though. All right. This a little stab job. Just I run it up. All right. Sit. Sit. Sit. Came out of that. I swear every pitcher chip always hit it long. You can probably see that flag moving is pretty blustery. We got to do this. I mean, tomorrow isn’t going to be easy. Valley lifting. I tell you what won’t be easy. The forfeit. You might disclose in today’s video what that is. You might have guessed it if you’ve been watching the series. Come on. Solid start. Every time. Now, this is the hole I was telling you about, Brisbane. I drove it and now I’m looking at it going, geeers, how did I do that? Nice to be done. Oh, it was Jeep. It’s just in the right rough, isn’t it? It was going right. That was windy. So, I was joking to Braz off camera like a rough, you know, famous last words, rough doesn’t look too bad. That will bite me later. You watch. Great shot. 20. Little punchy nine. Keep it under the the wind. A bit of B cranana dirt. That’s knuckled as well, isn’t it? Just getting flyers there. No spin on those. Okay, this is where that flyer ended up. Probably 35 yards long. Given this one, I mean, let’s be honest. Trying to get it close. But boom time. Brisbane’s delighted. I’m delighted we’re back level par after two. I got to start strong in this challenge. And yeah, wasn’t really very steady, but we’ll take it. All right, you can call that lucky. You can call that skill. Whatever you want. I call lucky, but a lot of holes to play. Check out this this. You guessed it. Okay, third hole, 166 yards. It’s called the X’s. I don’t know why it’s called that. I mean, who knows? Let me know in the comments if you know that one. But in a low kind of punchy seven iron, this thing was tracking really good. You’ll see the pin’s back left corner and it caught a piece of it and then ran down to the left. I’ll show you that here in a little second. But good swing. Look at those views, though. So, this is walking up to the green. It’s like an upturn saucer. Again, still don’t know why it’s called the X’s, but I kind of caught the edge and ran down into this little dip and of course opted for putter. Fancy chipping that. And so this sound does get a little bit better as the video progresses. The wind was kind of wreaking havoc. As I go more the other way, it gets better. So yeah, putter quite a big steep bank this. I mean, I don’t really think chip would be the option for anybody actually. Just, you know, there’s a shot here. I’ve gotten comfortable with as my chip has been a little bit dodgy. But we’re up the hill and yeah, just far more confident with that. So, go ahead and tap that one in. How about this commentary by the way? It’s I mean better than what was going on at the Ryder Cup. I’ll not name names. All right, onto the fourth. All right, fourth hole. Um, you can see the ocean on the right and obviously my miss is to the right and the wind is pushing to the right. So, it’s kind of a recipe for disaster, but um fighting this one back into it would turn over a little bit too much, but it was in play. It was fine. Should point out it’s blowing an absolute gale here. That is a fact. It is very, very windy out here. So, this one, you can see the flag there. I’m trying to hit this in super low and almost chase it up. Just felt like the shot execution was pretty terrible. This thing wasn’t even tracer worthy. Couldn’t get the tracer. It went that low. But would end up missing the green left again. Down in another dip. I mean, you miss the green drawing here. It’s definitely tough to get yourself up and down. And you can see where I’ve ended up here. Now, camera doesn’t really do that justice. That’s quite a big slope up there. Um, I could have hit bump and run, but again, just going for the putter. That’s probably a we bit of lack of confidence on my end with the chipping. There’s me saying the sun’s come out. You wouldn’t believe it. At least it was for a bit. All right, big putt up the hill. Giving this a good old whack. And I didn’t whack it enough. So now I left myself this for the par. Decent enough putt. You obviously have to think about the wind as well on these putts too. Lynx Golf in Ireland. That’s kind of the way it is. Great effort there, Dave. Never up, never in. Now tap that one in. Go on to my favorite hole, the fifth. Okay, you’ll find out why it’s my favorite. So, tons of room left. I mean, the whole of Ireland to your left and I nudge this right. All right. Now, unfortunately, well, tell you in a minute what happens, but just a poor drive. You get up and it’s one of those ones you look to the left and you go, geez, look how much room I had over there. What was I even thinking there? That t-shot actually ended up lost. So I reloaded at the next one up par with the second ball. Double bogey. So we are two over through five. And yeah, so frustrating. Freaking driver. That’s where I need work. Yeah, it’s annoying cuz driver had been something that was was quite strong actually when I came back to playing golf. Um but like we’ll figure it out. It’s not bad. It’s just the we tendency to miss sometimes. This one I changed something here in my swing. I don’t mind this one going down the left cuz I’m actually playing for that cuz I ain’t missing right. You can see it there. It ain’t pretty over there. Okay. And this one was 104 yards. Should have been pretty straightforward. Thought I hit this quite well. It would end up coming up a good bit short. Um so pretty wedges are definitely if you’ve been watching this series, if you haven’t, check out episodes one and two. Um, and yeah, you see, just highlighting some of the things about the game. Some of it might help you. So, again, putter. I do chip later on in the video, by the way, in case you’re wondering why I use putter from everywhere. Just feels right. Um, and we’d roll this one up. Again, leave myself some work to actually clean this up. Usually pretty decent at these, which is why it’s so important I get my driver, my wedges good, and the game will definitely get a lot better. All right, I think this is the last one. Then we’re on to the microphones again. So, a little bit more of a live uh look at it. And I changed something in the driver and this worked. This probably isn’t a driver hole as I mentioned in a moment, but absolutely ripped this thing. Actually having to apologize cuz the guys in front I didn’t I don’t think it was near them, but just little bit of courtesy. All right, I joked to Brisbane. I changed something in my driver. Not the driver itself, me hitting it and what I’m doing. But I’m not going to tell you what it is until I can confirm with two shots. I’m getting ahead of myself. I’m going to make birdies. I need to drive it well. But we’re in a good spot down here. You can see in that little gap. Tight. Struggling X1. Probably isn’t driver in reality, but need to break par. I don’t want to get in that ocean. Oh, that’s a giveaway. Right there is where I’m going if I don’t uh don’t break par this trip. All right, we’ve absolutely threaded that drive somehow. Can’t hit a big furry and hit a narrow one. 140. Little pitching wedge with that wind. And if you can see that flag tuck behind the bunker and try and draw one sort of round the back of it. or just like wing it way right edge of the green I think. All right, this screen’s pretty big and sloppy. Up and over, turn down turn and round. It’s technical term. Stay up. Oh, kind of needed that. That was close. That’s close. So, every so often you just get that shot, it all clicks. That was one of those. Let’s make the putt though. Come on, Dave. Knock it in. Yeah. Jesus. It hit something like right there and it really just moved it. Yes. Bounce. Oh, not good, folks. Not good. It’s been a long time since it’s seen Oh, since seen one of these or used one. Oh, this is great. I just I’m getting all the bad shots off the ball just on the clubhouse right. It’s okay though. Also like to take this opportunity to thank my channel sponsor, GX Golf Gloves. Now let’s hopefully hit this part five and get back on this thing is too like I’ve been playing a lot of golf recently. Um more kind of scramble stuff for the Golf Bros YouTube channel. If you haven’t checked out the Golf Bros YouTube channel and you like a bit of a laugh, check it out. um playing a lot but playing on buggies and you know this is round number three. I’m not joking. My hips, maybe my forearms. I can feel feel it. All 9 245 hybrid. It’ll be the right one. It’s right in line. It’s just front edge, I think. Okay. Actually, that was a way short. It’s a good shot. It’s just the wrong club. Just wasn’t getting the hybrid there. So little linky bump and run n iron sit. All right, another good looking birdie. There you go. Thank you. Turned in two over. So, still chance. All right. So, we turned in two over. And so, this is a little bit better, but still a lot of work to do if I want to do this. I need a good back nine here. But what I’m going to do is I’m going to park going to pick back up around the 12th or so. I’m going to charge a bit of kit here cuz I had this morning as well. Um, so we’ll play. I will check in then. Let you know how I’m doing and I promise you I’ll be honest. You know me. I’ll show you the good and the bad. All right, we’re back in action. What’s this? 11 part 10. I think I fixed the driver, folks. But I’ve told Brisbane now. So that’s me screwed. All right. Didn’t even look at that. 76. It’s probably irrelevant because you got to hit. Stay up. It’s okay. It worked. Nice divot. A good one. Is it shallow enough for you? All right. Yeah. So 10 ripped a drive, had a 100 yard, hit it maybe 15 yards right wasn’t very good. Uh two putt and here lovely drive again. And so yeah, I think the little little tweak I’ve made is good. And what I’m basically doing is now that I’ve said this, it’ll not work again. But uh you know how golf is just adding a little bit of tilt in the address position and bumping my hips slightly more towards the target. And yeah, seems to be working really nicely. So we’ll stick at it until it doesn’t work. But another look at birdie and we need to start making birdies because there was a group of people walking into the water full wet gear and they were like screaming it was so cold and I was saying to bridge pain after belly lifting I really don’t want to do that. I know you’re probably watching and thinking I want him to do it but I don’t want to do it. So we’ll see. And another one. He’s coming back. Coming back as I seen those people in that water and I don’t want that to be me. The views are amazing, aren’t they? All the way around. Yeah. I’ve told everybody now my little tip. Let’s fix my driving. But you see, now it’ll just go to jinxed it. Just riding the wind. Just riding it a bit. Just caught the right rough, is it? All right. So, if you remember earlier on, I said about the rough. Yeah. And we’re not too far off the fairway. Still get something on this. All right, 173. We got to hack this out. Run it up. Six would be good, but it’s weather that’s enough club or a good club of weather comes out. That might be low. I could be really good. It’s not long. All right. Where I thought that might have even been long. Maybe short. Okay. Let’s get this. Thanks, Jers. That’s wild. I win. The flags like this. The flags like this. Go six then. I don’t know if this is enough. It’s completely switched. I was looking forward to hitting that downwind too. Right. Come on. Right. Freaking right at it. It’s short, isn’t it? Took a horrible bounce. It It landed on the green and shot way left. Damn. And it just literally out here. I mean, you just have to barely That was pretty freaking good. It’s about as good as I can do. I think I want to beat this guy. Look, does he have tea? Yeah. Sticks of tea in the ground. Keep this alive. Come on. That was a steal there. I’m keeping it alive somewhat. The line’s probably the actual flag, isn’t it? Where’s that? Just to the left there. Yeah. Yeah. It’s going right. No idea. It’s right in line with those guys though. All right, rough again. No prizes for guessing it’s to the right. See, I told you once I tell you guys, I fix the driving. Right. 127. The wind is wide. Like it was into off the left. Now it’s down off the left. It’s strange. All right. 128. Looks like a big run off to the left. Oh, that’s another fly. Sit down, please. It’s all right. We’re p We’re miles away from the hole. Up, down, around. Well, it’s very technical this, but that’s how I do it. Sit. Thanks. All right. Fighting here. Hanging in. left first one. Seen it in that bank. Yeah. Jeez. All right. So 115 in the left rough, one over. So we’re fighting. Still a chance of this, which for me would be awesome if I can do it. So we’ll just keep her going. Keep fighting. All right, we got 130. Kind of got that flyer lie again. We’ll try and sort of punch a pitching wedge. No idea what that wind’s doing. be the right distance, please. Yeah, I think it’s about 6 ft short, I think, of the hole. I hope. Here we are. birdie putt. Trying not to get ahead of myself. Each each shot or shot at a time. Yes, sir. Back to level. Back to level. Jesus. Here we go. All right. Back to level. Three to go. Squeaky bum time. This is great though, right? So, I got to show you this hole. And literally when he plays about 90 yards, the pin is tucked over there. Yeah. Very cool. It’s in your face. It’s in the face now. Now it’s behind. Feel that. All right. Hole 16. We’re level and we’ve got a 79 yard par three, which sounds simple, but the green doesn’t look it. So 58. Trying to hit it low. Oh no. Stay there. That’s so bad. I wasn’t feeling comfortable there whatsoever. All right, that was pretty pure, but we got a chance still That’s okay. All right. I need a birdie on the last two. But yeah, it’s great. Like I’m trying my eye strings out and I’m fighting back from that triple now. Two holes left. Level. Still in with a shot. Last par five as well. Um so yeah, let’s go to 17. Jesus Christ. No. So bad. This driver is going in the bin. Bad news. I actually lost that drive and it was maybe not 10 yards right just off the fairway. So provisional down to here. See if we can still do this. So we get this up and down. We could still go one over, one down the last. Oh, four. Trying to kill. That would have ruined his vacation. I mean, the signs are all there. I mean, what the driver is just horrendous. It’s not good enough. It’s put me So, it’s potentially going to cause me to double this. And you just can’t play golf that way. Really frustrating. Why do we play this game? A bogey and then have to eagle the last needed two on the last. No. Oh my god. double. I really don’t want to go in that water. I would just walk in with your just dip a toe. That’s what I would do. I got one more chance tomorrow. Okay, I went in. Yeah, true. I’m going to go in up to my neck. Hold the microphone up. It’s so It’s straight. I just don’t know what part of the club it came out of. Well, it’s 250. So, we got 250. I mean, we got to go for it. Come all this way. Lay up. I can’t believe that now. I was really excited there and lost that ball. I’ll stop going on about it, I promise. If you made it this far in the video and you’re still sticking around, thank you so much. Really appreciate it. Um, if you haven’t done so already, please hit the subscribe button. Massively helps me. Um, yeah, usually. And the weirdest thing, right, the wind, we’re talking about it. It’s like I’ve been talking about it the entire video, but downwind into the wind, downwind. So that drive was like, “Okay, hit now. downwind. Now it’s into and I kind of need it down here at 250 to have a chance. Who knows? We can hold this. That has ballooned up. It’s not going to make it. But it’s good line. We’ll see. All right, guys. We didn’t do it. It did not go in. It was short, but we can still finish with a respectable attempt. That’s not great. Actually feel a little better. I didn’t go. Good golf course nearly. Yeah, great course. Thank you, mate. Look forward to tomorrow as well cuz uh Lord knows I need to do well tomorrow. All right, guys. Stick around for a little round recap as usual at the end. And yeah, we got belly lifting tomorrow for episode 4 to complete the series and hopefully complete the challenge. All right, so we didn’t do it today. It’s a good day though, wasn’t it, Brit? Great day. Um, was close at the end. I was just saying the bridge being how much the it was nice to feel the pressure like you can simulate pressure and do all those things. Uh, but the game is just a scrappy. Well, when you don’t play competitive golf anymore. Yeah. And you’re not really playing a lot of golf. I mean, you’ve just got back into playing golf. I know. But you just shot two overpar in heavy winds. Two overpar at Port Salon yesterday. You made what? Three birdies out there. Four birdies. Yeah. I think it was four. Yeah. So, I mean, it’s there. You just got to you just got to let it tidy a few things up. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. So yeah, we uh we go. Driver is definitely the killer for me. I mean, obviously the other stuff’s not sharp as sharp as it should be either, but the uh we continue. And the the wedges and stuff aren’t aren’t great. I’ll come looking at the negatives. There’s lots of positives as well to go out there cuz it was blowing like mad. Um so yeah, look, we’ll keep going. Tomorrow’s the day. Hopefully we get it. I thought we might have got it today, but uh tomorrow we will go. And if not, I will go in the Atlantic Ocean. Thanks, guys. See you in the next one.

  1. 🔥 Thanks for watching Episode 3 of the Break Par in Ireland Challenge! 🔥

This one pushed me to the absolute limit, absolutely loved this towards the emd… and with the Atlantic Ocean forfeit hanging over me, the pressure was REAL. 🌊🥶

👉 Be honest… would you take the plunge if you failed? 😅

Drop your answer below — I’ll be replying to as many comments as I can! 👇

  2. Great video! That course looked brilliant. You're harsh on your driving and your putting was class (with exception of that birdie chance at the Pat 3 lol)
