I think Danny when you see him on TV how he talks how is the me you can see where he is at you know it’s so open you know he cannot fake it I I guess you guys saw the uh the interview in Singapore after qualifying I mean I said oh he was like a broken man oh I was like I don’t want to see this you know yeah you know it’s like dude just leave it you know just leave it don’t not do that to yourself because he was like a broken man you know and it’s quite sad to see because he doesn’t deserve that in my opinion you know at Visa cash up he had some little highs and then again some lows it was no consistency anymore and I think just mentally he couldn’t get over what happened at McLaren that’s my opinion you know maybe as you said maybe he left it too late or maybe he shouldn’t uh even have come back you know

Never leave Red Bull for a BS team…
The fact that people called Danny washed have zero clue on what he went through behind the scenes.
Red Bull broke Danny and he never recovered, and Racing Bulls made it even worse. If he was given a too tier ride next year, I guarantee he'll get minimum 2 victories and 10 podiums
Dudes still one of the most legendary drivers to have ever raced, he did it all, with a smile and good humor and attitude the whole time. Dudes an inspiration
Hurts even more if you were there when he first came onto the scene.
I thought he was for sure the future world champion.
He held the fastest lap (faster than Lewis) on Top Gear on that one fun segment (three times he posted a time of 1min 41sec) and he made RB his team when Seb was the veteran.
And in a straight dogfight 1v1 against the best he was unbeatable. I felt like not even Alonso (my main guy at the time) could touch him.
He was so goddamn fast and competitive.
Then Max showed up 2016 and I’d argue if Ricci still stayed Max would not have won 4 consecutive titles.
Max was the greater talent, but Daniel woudlve been, by far, his most competitive rival on the grid. Greater than Lewis.
Those two were my favorite prospects.
So it made NO sense to me what was happening to him the past few years after he left RB

I get why Dan left RB. No one likes to be treated as a second class person there to be an ‘assistant’ especially not F1 drivers. It’s human nature. Turned out to be the wrong move and it snowballed. He would have been better staying at Renault than McLaren but who would’ve thought he wouldn’t be able to drive the McLaren?!.. It’s crazy especially as he had more experience than Norris.
I miss Danny. He was the best personality in F1 and made everything more fun with his jokes. Great personality, great driver. Cool guy.
I also really miss Gunther as team principal for haas.
I felt so frustrated for Danny . Such a shame
I’m always gonna miss Daniel. He’s such a happy guy but when I saw that interview I knew he was genuinely upset and sad.

Danny should have stayed at Renault. Cyril would still be running the show their and probably be a lot better team. Danny and Renault both fell apart when he left

Ricciardo is an egomaniac and a jerk. He just smiles a lot and is handsome, so everyone is so mesmerized that they think he's a great guy. He's not. And his time as a driver has passed.
Danny is the master of late braking, no one does it like him

We are so quick to forget that he was doing great and the comeback looked real before he took to the wall to save Oscar. Left as he came in being himself, one of the best humans to grace the grid

Günther is a great guy. Its a shame they painted him in such a ugly light on drive to survive. He definitely deserves a spot at a team.
Danny was a great driver and a great ambassador for the sport.

You don’t get to that level by settling or giving up easy. But he’s right that he was just doing it to himself. At that point this dream was clearly dead, but he still walked away with $100m to continue pursuing professional racing.
Went and saw Guenther's tour last year and got to meet him. Just a true genuine bloke. Absolute gentleman. As for Dan he will probably forever regret leaving redbull…. Even though he says no regrets but leaving for Renault was ill advised and ill informed. Made the choice for the wrong reasons. $$$$ But he was the only driver that has challenged Max in the same car.
He should have never left Red Bull.
He and Max could have set amazing records and he would have had fun doing it.
Guess he came to this conclusion as well since he said no to Cadillac
I think its the driving style with ground effects. I wish he would have hung on until 2026 the new cars are more rewarding to late brakers. Lewis, Kimi, Alonso will rise, Max will stay, the other newbies will fall.
I miss him. He deserved better.
