Miura Golf reintroduces one of its most revered creations: Baby Blade. Originally designed by founder Katsuhiro Miura as a personal pursuit of the perfect blade, the Baby Blade quickly became a benchmark of craftsmanship.
[Music] Hi everyone, I’m Blake Smith. I’m the North American sales manager for Mirror Golf and I am honored to bring you the one, the only, the iconic KM Baby Blade. This golf club has a stigma about it. When people hit this, they feel something they’ve never felt before. And if you know, you know. The origin of the baby blade comes from Katahhiro Miraa making a perfect golf club for himself. He wanted to make it as forgiving as possible for what it is. He didn’t buy into the idea that a bigger golf club was going to be more forgiving, per se. He wanted to make this golf club to the point where it could square itself and you just put your swing on it and you’ll know. Every Mirror Club is crafted to the highest standard, but only the treasured designs bear the Henko stamp of founder Katahira Mirror. A key feature to this is 15% smaller than our 101 version, but the same mass. Newton’s second law, force equals mass time acceleration, comes into play here. Being 15% smaller, it is the same weight as the 101, our MB 101. So when that happens, this can have a little bit more mass behind the strike. So those toe and those heel misses have a little bit more behind them. I know this is smaller, but it’s just as forgiving. So the key differences between the KM Baby Blade and the previous generations, one, this Y grind. So Yoshi Taka Mirror, son of Katahiraa, created this Y grind, a leading edge grind to improve turf interaction. is basically for both types of players, the sweeper and the digger. Previous generations kind of left the digger out. So somebody that made that took a big divot. Sometimes the baby blade would be a little bit tough for them. Performance and historical significance for the wide grind is that it marries both the new generation and the past generation of mirror craftsmanship into one iron. So, the KM Baby Blade is designed for that purest, that pure ball striker looking for workability, craftsmanship, and quality. Overall, the KM Baby Blade feels like more of like a punch than a slap. That’s something that we like to say at Meera. So, if you’re looking to work the ball, this golf club has tremendous workability. When that golf ball feels like it stays on the face a little bit longer, then that means that you can hit nice little cuts, high draws, high and low, most irons are starting to deloft. These have more loft, which creates more spin, a little bit higher launch, and that’s how you can work the ball. In a world of big irons, maximum forgiveness, lowest loft possible, drop in center of gravity, the KM Baby Blade went the other direction. This is smaller. It is beautiful, and it has forgiveness through geometry. The KM Baby Blades aren’t just irons. They’re Mirissan’s legacy that you can feel in every shot. [Music]
