Ricky Fowler had to find his ball. No matter what, his T-shot flew offline deep into the woods. When he got there, the ball was nowhere to be seen. But then, looking up at the gallery, he spotted it wedged between branches, stuck in a place it could never fall. Now, here’s the rule. To take relief, a player must positively identify their ball. Normally, you just check the markings, but in this case, even binoculars or a rangefinder couldn’t confirm it. So, Ricky was left with no choice. He couldn’t prove it was his ball and under the rules it was deemed lost. One penalty stroke back to the tea.
