Seven. Keegan Bradley. Who could have predicted this on Sunday morning. Although Bradley’s team ultimately fell short on Long Island. Their remarkable comeback dramatically narrowed the gap. Given away the 45th match unfolded, it wouldn’t be surprising if the PGA of America took a page from Europe’s playbook moving forward. Six. Tiger Woods. The 15-time major champion remains the bookie’s favorite to lead team USA, especially at a venue owned by his close friend JP Mcmanis. Wood’s passed on the role this year due to his commitments on the PGA Tour board. With previous experience as a vice captain and President’s Cup assistant, he’s a natural choice. Five. Brandt Snedker. At 44, Snedker was one of Bradley’s five vice captains during the Beth Page Clash and is set to captain the US at next year’s President’s Cup in Medina. A win could be the perfect confidence boost for a potential double, and his Rder Cup career as a player was solid. Four, Webb Simpson. If Bradley represents a changing of the guard for Team USA, Web Simpson might be next in line. The 40-year-old served as the first vice captain this year and has experience as a President’s Cup assistant. Could he be another Bold Rder Cup pick? Quite possibly. Three. Steve Stricker. Why fix what isn’t broken? Strick, 58, led team USA to a record-breaking 19-9 victory at Whistling Straits in 2021, ironically fueling Europe’s recent streak of wins. A rematch will be fascinating, and he remains a top contender. Two, Jim Furick. Experience counts and Furick has it in spades. The 2003 US Open champion could be a safe choice if the PGA of America wants a season hand. The only drawback, he captained the US in 2018 and suffered a decisive defeat, which might not sit well with fans. One, Matt Coocher. Back in 2023, Cooer told Bunker C O UK that Beth Page wasn’t his year. But 2027 could be different. Having played on numerous teams and staying close to many of today’s top American players, the 45-year-old remains an intriguing potential captain.
