AKUMAL, Mexico (October 1, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University closed out its first-ever international tournament Tuesday with its best round of the week, firing a 305 (+17) to finish ninth at the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya. The Chaparrals posted a three-round total of 921 (+57) at Tulum Country Club (6,980 yards | par 72), highlighted by two rounds of 74 from Noel Bondesson and Tres Arreola.
West Texas A&M claimed the team title at 893 (+29), while No.24 Colorado State–Pueblo and UT Tyler tied for second at 903 (+39).
Bondesson’s steady play delivered his lowest round of the tournament, moving him into a tie for 21st at 230 (+14). He capped his week with five birdies Tuesday, finishing him tied for fourth in birdies (9) and among the tournament’s leaders in par-3 scoring (3.08, +1, tied for 10th). Arreola bounced back from a tough Round 2 to match Bondesson’s 74 (+2), climbing 20 spots on the leaderboard to tie for 42nd at 236 (+20). He joined Bondesson with nine birdies for the week.
Maximiliano Dufey tied for 26th at 232 (+16) after a final-round 78, while Hudson Reagan finished one shot back at 233 (+17, T28). Senior Hayden Bowman rounded out the lineup in 52nd at 238 (+22).
The Chaps’ 305 was their lowest score of the three-day event and pushed their birdie total to 35 for the tournament — the second-most of any team in the 15-team field. Bondesson and Arreola shared the team lead with nine birdies apiece, tying for fourth-most overall.
Statistically, LCU continued to shine on par-5s, finishing tied for fifth in the field at 5.13 (+8).
