Scott Gourlay Golf Technology (SGGT) is opening the doors to its third UK fitting centre at the Golf It! driving range and golf course operated by the R&A in Glasgow.
The SGGT Tour Performance Fitting Centre will house two state-of-the-art fitting studios where golfers can see their ball flight using premium Titleist Pro V1 balls hit outside using Trackman.
SGGT’s unique fitting system and independent approach enables their experienced fitters to select the optimum combination of shaft and head from any brand in the market. Each driver, wood, iron and wedge manufacturer is represented in right and left hand options for Callaway, Cobra, Mizuno, Miura, Ping, Srixon/Cleveland, TaylorMade and Titleist.
The Hogan Iron studio at SGGT takes iron fitting to the next level. Each golfer is fitted using 4, 6, 8 and Pitching Wedge to ensure the correct through the bag fitting of long irons, mid-irons and short irons. This avoids consistency issues that arise when fitting using a single iron and enables SGGT to accurately blend sets across models and brands to create the optimum iron set.
SGGT wedge fitting is done outside from grass and sand using a dedicated chipping and short game area to determine the right bounce and grind for the golfers most used wedge. Then gap fitting takes place using Trackman to ensure the correct distance gaps between the wedges and the start of the iron set.
All custom orders are built in-house and dispatched from SGGT’s workshop in Edinburgh for a complete in-house service and better quality control. The workshop has Scotland’s only SST Pure machine for shaft alignment and every club is swing weighted and then loft and lie checked so that it is built to the highest standards.

Heading up the SGGT Glasgow fitting centre will be Aaron Ellis who has 10 years’ experience of custom fitting with major brands such as PXG. “I am delighted to be leading SGGT in Glasgow as their independent approach enables me to choose from any head and over 600 shafts across all the brands in the market. I believe in making the golf club function according to what the golfer can do and what their needs are. Building the clubs in-house means we can offer tour level build quality so that club function is personalised to maximise individual performance.”
