It was too embarrassing to watch, and I’m not talking about the score.
Bighead_Golf
It turned very competitive at the end but it was basically over and written off on Saturday… I just watched the NFL
Sarahplainandturnt
The USA was so embarrassing in this Ryder cup I couldn’t keep watching it. And I dont mean the play. By the end I was rooting for Europe and Rory.
adflet
Apparently there we heaps more European fans there on Sunday because Americans were selling their tickets on secondary markets, so it’s not surprising they were turning their tellies off as well.
BluefinPiano
between the US team just not playing well and the awful coverage the one morning i tried watching it just wasn’t worth my time between what i thought was excessive and repetitive commercials
Wolverine2121
It was non-competitive for the first two days. I’m guessing most people turned their attention to the NFL.
shawnewoods
It was impossible to watch as it had way too many commercials and even the most avid fan couldn’t stomach it. You have created your own problem IMO
hourglass90
Coverage was terrible.
Odd_Detective_7772
Well yeah, it wasn’t close to start, and it was up against the nfl. Easy choice for most.
zoo_tickles
I pretty much bowed out when Colin was sent out day 2
Wendys_444
Sorry y’all its my fault. I was at the grand canyon and petrified forest NPs last weekend 😔
lynjpin
The US makes a complete ass of itself on a daily basis, I don’t need to watch us do it in golf too.
gatorraid41
The US was getting shit rocked and the comeback came up against a NFL Sunday.
AZNdude86
honestly, I turned it off after the morning round on Saturday, not only was it not competitive, but it was really cringe to watch the shenanigans from the crowd, super embarrassing
Moon_lit324
This might just be a me thing, but I pretty much watch highlights for all sports now. I could tune in and watch for hours or get a nice 15 minute recap and see all the incredibly good and bad shots anyways. I started doing this with the NFL when I found out there is only 12 minutes of live game time in a NFL game. I’m sure there are more like me. We don’t have to sit down and plan to watch sports anymore, just watch em whenever is convenient.
flippityflop2121
Everyone turns off a blowout.
Cyclonepride
I’m guessing the lopsided score had a huge part. I was totally psyched to watch this, but after Saturday, it seemed to be over, so I just checked in randomly on Sunday until it looked like it could be close.
Smitty0
Worst part is that Sunday was great but there were so many bad decisions Friday/Saturday I can’t blame casuals for losing interest. Also, the fans were horrendous
WVgolf
Tough to compete directly against the NFL, especially when it’s a blowout starting the day
NotaCallawayRep
The 3.2m/5.3m figure makes up only US audiences (NBC/Peacock). Sky Sports had 8.8m total tuning in with 45% more viewers than the 2023 Ryder Cup.
Heard about the crowd and gameplay on here and gave a hard pass. Better things to do on my weekend than to be disappointed at everything on a TV.
Monkeyfork21
Coverage was nonexistent on Friday. There were zero networks in Canada covering the play. As soon as that happened and I couldn’t watch the whole thing I gave up.
VonHinterhalt
It was actually a great finish but it was so low because we got smashed the first two days and looked totally out of contention.
swannyma
After Saturday everyone decided to make tee times and play golf on Sunday, rather than watching a blowout. That being said, there was about one hour of must see TV. Would have been more if Henley made his putt on 18
kenyan12345
Leaves out the fact that sky sports did fantastic
InterestingBad7687
It was the effing Trump dance from this son of a b:tch.
jasonis3
Didn’t help the US was getting destroyed to start. I thought it was over, didn’t even realize there was a comeback.
BasicCraft2385
Basically everyone on golf channel Saturday night said it was over, and with football on all day it doesn’t surprise me. That’s like if an NFL game is 42-6 thru 3 quarters, most people change the channel
Far-Zucchini-5534
With as far behind as USA was, while going up against Eagles/Bucs. It’s no surprise.
marc15v2
*in the US.
cubecasts
NFL
SharkLaser85
Yeah but it doesn’t count the millions tuned in on the Caffeine TV app.
frozenandstoned
I watched day 1 hole 1
Several-Eagle4141
No one is connected with the golfers any more so ensemble tournaments are becoming meh
Moist_Cheese_09
The Trump dick sucking kind of killed my golf boner. Keegan doing his giraffe jerk off dance was laughably bad.
I’m glad Europe retained
causeithurts
I was all in til it started. Commercials, terrible fans, and players that seemed to have walked onto a course that they never knew existed. It got super cringe Saturday and I stopped watching shortly after the 3rd set teed off. College and Pro football were an easy choice to watch
Sea_Cardiologist_339
I’m a fan of golf and did not watch a second of it besides the coverage on social media
DutchOnionKnight
Yeah 15 Rolex commercial an hour might have killed it…
