FIRST THINGS FIRST | Nick Wright RIPS Justin Herbert For Being OVERRATED With Los Angeles Chargers | NFL
#firstthingsfirst #nickwright #losangeleschargers

on the Chargers too early. You got a mouse in your pocket. I didn’t crown him ever. The Wii, the the Royal Wii, maybe. I mean, folks that just were convinced that uh a down to the wire win against the uh Broncos. Uh you know, a good solid allaround win against the Chiefs in Brazil and beating the Raiders, which the Raiders are having some struggles even though I still Ashen Genty. Good game. still believe um was enough to make the Chargers not the Chargers anymore. So crazy to me. And I don’t know what Bruise Ballot’s going to look like. I don’t know what Parkkins Peak is going to look like. I do know this. Justin Herbert, those were an awesome first two games, buddy. I know that. And we can I mean, this is what it is. Those were an awesome first two games. Like really great first two games, Justin. I think they were impressive since then. That’s not very good. And what was bizarre to me, coach, was the thing I text you, which is uh their rookie running back, Omaran Hampton, had 12 carries for 130 yards in a game that was nip and tuck against a rookie quarterback. It’s Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman, but they, you know what I mean? They listen, when you have Pton Manning 2.0, 0. I guess you just got to throw the ball around the field and now all of a sudden they’re banged up and they gave a game away they shouldn’t and the huge lead on the Chiefs is down to a game. That’s concerning to me. Okay, this is going I knew this was take was going to happen and it’s going to drive me insane because it is it is so ridiculous right now. And this is this is so misleading trying to put this on Justin Herbert right now. This is I’m gonna lose my mind. I’m gonna lose my mind. Before I do, please Chargers fans, please, San Diego, Los Angeles Chargers fans, please subscribe to this channel and please watch the entire video as it is without a shadow of a doubt the best way to support this channel. I am trying to build this channel into the most real community that we could possibly have in the sports talk community. I am doing everything I possibly can. I reached out to the Chargers fans before I lived in San Diego, North Park, South Park, La Hoya. I was there when the Chargers uh left San Diego and went to Los Angeles. So, I feel that pain. I drove up to the 5101 all day, every day, sat in that traffic for hours a day, every single day. So, please, because I’m trying to create the best possible Chargers content that I can. And when you subscribe and when you watch the full length of the video, this is the response that we get. This is the response I’m going all in. I’m asking the fans to just get out there and please support the growth of this channel so we can truly be a real sports talk community that just cannot be ignored anymore. Um because something like this is insane. Okay, this is so irritating. The O line is decimated right now. Justin Herbert is being pressured at a insanely historic rate. It is speaking of an avalanche, an avalanche of pressure right now. An absolute avalanche of pressure. Okay, Justin Herbert right now has 69 pressures. He’s on track to have over 3000 dropbacks with pressure. And you could be like, “Oh, well, look, see like Joe Flatco like he actually has one more.” Yeah, but he’s got 10 more drop backs and 11 more uh pass attempts. So, right now, when everybody was freaking out about Patrick Mahomes’s O line and how bad it was, and what do you want him to do? He doesn’t have a good O line. What do you want him to do? drop backs with pressure 212 on the year. Joe Burrow, who had one of the worst O lines I had ever seen with a 50% pass block win rate, 248. Justin Herbert is on track to just annihilate this. Annihilate this again. He’s on pace for 300 dropbacks with pressure higher than this in 23. Josh Allen in 23 232. Patrick Mahomes 241. And then in 2022, I think Justin Herbert, surprise surprise, led the NFL again in drop backs with pressure. Yep. 272. Patrick Mahomes 241. Josh Allen 224. It’s like, what do you want this guy to do right now? It’s just he’s being pressured nonstop. nonstop. This is not on Justin Herbert at all. He’s also on track to have 30 drops. So, he’s now being pressured at an absolute historic rate and his receivers now have dropped are on track to have 30 drops. Remember when everyone panicked about the drop passes for the Kansas City Chiefs in 23 29 drops and actually only 241 pressures. So he’s on pace now to be pressured 60 times 60 times more. That’s a huge number. 60 times more than Patrick Mahomes in 23. and the and one more we’ll just say around the same number of drops and we want to just lump it all on Justin Herbert and be like well you had a good couple first games but you know I think we crowned them too soon he’s painting Manning 2.0 I know. I mean, it’s just ridiculous. It’s It’s absolutely ridiculous. All I heard in the Super Bowl was, “Oh, what do you want him to do? He was He’s Patrick Mahomes. He’s pressured. He’s got no protection. He’s got no protection.” Justin Herbert is being pressured at a higher rate by five or six pressures a game than what Patrick Mahomes dealt with in the Super Bowl. I mean, it’s I’m telling you, this is historical the amount of pressure that Justin Herbert is having on him. And we want to put on Justin Herbert. And again, it’s these are this is injury related. So, this is just unfortunate now for Herbert and the Chargers. It’s one thing if this team was fully healthy, then we could say, “Oh, see, you crowned them too soon.” No, they’re they’re they’re injured now. They’re legitimately banged up in the way where they just are struggling. And so I already know that you’re going to hear nonsense moment like, “Well, Mahomes dealt with pressure last year and he was able to find a way.” And it’s like, I just showed you that the amount he’s on pace to have like 90 more pressures from from than from what Mahomes dealt with in um 2024. And again, the drop passes. How many drop passes uh did Mahomes have with that terrible O line? Well, that’s funny. 2024, Justin Herbert had 28 drop passes. Go figure. And Patrick Mahomes had 18. So, he’s on pace to have 90 more pressures and 12 more drop passes. And we make all the excuses in the world for other quarterbacks, but we don’t want to have any explanation for Justin Herbert at all. It’s just simply Justin Herbert’s just really not as good as we think he is. I mean, look at the first two games. I mean, these are just the numbers. Look at the first two games and then look at the last two games. It’s just not good. Justin Herbert balled in that third game against the Denver Broncos, against a defensive pass rush that what what Justin Herbert had the like the most QB hits in Chargers history for in the last like 25 years or something. I forget whatever stat Colin uh dropped on everyone. I mean like he is getting walloped walloped and we want to pretend like it’s nothing. Makes sense. I mean, seriously, all we heard all year long, oh well, Patrick Mahomes isn’t looking that good because Xavier Worthy and Rasheed Rice and Travis Kelce is a shell of himself. What do you want him to do? And I defended that take. That was my take for the most part. I said that Patrick Mahomes played poorly because he was, but I also said he’s it’s clearly extra bad because of the roster around him. And now with Justin Herbert, we don’t want to give him any benefit of the doubt. We want to just drop him from the MVP conversation. We just want to drop him from any sense of him being a top quarterback in the NFL. Do you know how insane that sounds? Do you know how absurd that is? I mean, look at this. In the last two games, just the last two games alone, Justin Herbert has been pressured 46 times and five dropped passes. So, he’s leading the NFL in pressures and five drop. People say, “Oh, Baker Mayfield’s O line’s not doing too well.” 29 drop back picks with pressure. Justin Herbert 46 46. People saying Lamar Jackson, his his O line’s not too good. 30 a difference of 16. Where’s Patrick Mahomes? All the way down to 23. Justin Herbert has double the amount of pressures in the last two games. And how about drop passes? Because everyone’s like, “Well, Patrick Mahomes doesn’t have any receivers. His receivers are bad.” He’s got two drop passes. Justin Herbert more than double than that. So again, like I always say, you want to do the stats game, let’s do the stats game. Let’s do the actual real stats game then. Let’s actually tell the whole story right now. I mean, it’s it’s it’s pretty wild. The drop percentage 8.9 8.9. The fact that he’s being pressured this amount of times and only taken seven sacks is actually pretty remarkable. Pretty remarkable. So, we just need to stop. We need to have the real honest conversations. If we’re going to offer context for other quarterbacks, then do it for Justin Herbert as well. Tell the truth. Tell the full story right now. And let’s not use graphics like this that just make it look like he had a really good start, but now he’s just not that good. He just hasn’t been playing that bad. He’s really not that accurate, etc., etc., etc. It’s just nonsense. Absolute utter nonsense. Absolute nonsense. And we’re trying to pretend like Justin Herbert wasn’t great even just against the Denver Broncos, you know, a divisional game um against a a top defense in the NFL. It’s just it’s just ridiculous, man. It’s just absolutely ridiculous. But those are just my thoughts. I’d absolutely love to hear yours. What do you guys all think about Justin Herbert and the San Diego Los Angeles Chargers? Did we crown the Chargers too early and crown uh Justin Herbert too early? Let me know in the comments below. I read every single comment. So whether you agree with me or disagree with me, either way, let’s get in some discussions. Let’s get in some fights. But ultimately, let’s just have some fun. And please do consider subscribing. We are building an amazing community here and I absolutely love to see you part of it. I want to build something that we all genuinely feel connected to. Something that we’re really excited to be a part of. I think we’re well on our way to doing it. 1. I mean Herbert is running for his life trying to keep the play alive while his o line literally stands there and watches him get hammered. So fucking aggravating that we support players like this. Great video Juls

  2. Patrick didn't have a running back rush for 130 yards bad oline that oline is great at run blocking at least he has help from his running backs mahomes has to throw to back up receivers with a bad oline

  3. I don't think Julian understands 😂 the channel can grow more and bigger, if you stop mentioning goat mahomes to make a argument for the players you like 😂like you can't always hate on goat mahomes 🤷 like you really defensive Justin Herbert by bringing up what goat mahomes did 2 years ago 😂 like I'm starting to realize, Julian is letting Mick and goat mahomes live rent free in his head

  4. Julian bro I truly love your content 😂 but you don't have to mention goat mahomes all time 😂 like you can make a argument without mentioning goat mahomes 😂 YOU STARTING TO BECOME OBSESSED WITH GOAT MAHOMES OR SOMETHING 😂 like you always want to use stats😂 the stats is goat mahomes has 3 Superbowls and 2 MVPs 😂 like when it comes to the real stats and people telling the truth 😂 ITS THE SUPERBOWLS AND MVPS THATS IMPORTANT, NOT DROP BACKS AND PRESSURE

  5. You said Herbert is an Elite quarterback, Elite QB’s don’t lose to the pathetic Giants with a rookie quarterback and no receivers

  6. It’s unfortunate that the blame will always go to Herbert before anybody else because of the narrative that all these clowns have painted for him and the team. This game pretty much summarizes who really came out to ball. Hortiz, Harbaugh, and Greg Roman need to do a better job in their decisions moving forward. Herbert needs to use legs more to get out of sticky situations, and the team needs to GIVE HAMPTON THE DAMN BALL!

  7. Bruh i dont want the lazy take about injuries, I get the excuse of not having enough players if you’re playing a top team like bills, eagles but if you’re playing a giants team with a rookie Wb there is no excuse. Even look at baker who had 0 players playing the original position in his o line plus multiple receivers out beat all those teams in the first 3 weeks. Also Mahomes would have found a way to win for sure. So don’t make excuses for Herbert against the god damn giants man. Get your bias out of the system

  8. I agree with @chrisb3892. The Chiefs get a pass for losing two games because they aren't at full roster strength. But the Chargers lose 3/5ths of their starting offensive line, Khalil Mack, Najee Harris, and Denzel Perryman. But that doesn't effect Herbert at all. No, Herbert is just " overrated" according to Nick Wright…

  9. Nick’s takes on Justin Herbert are so disgustingly biased & only talks about Herbert’s performances with no contexts 🤦🏾‍♂️

  10. 5:29 2023 chiefs had 44 total reg.season dropped passes,
That 29 total looks like drops while under pressure? ARE YOU COOKING AGAIN?

  11. Then ask a Chargers fans. We don't really care what fake Keanu playing John wick Nick has to say we just Don't. Nick is like that turd you push out but hangs on by a hair not to be flushed down the toilet it's actually embarrassing how pathetic it is. It's his show he can say whatever he wants it's all kissing Mahomes & KC ass so I only get his shit from you because I don't really care what he thinks or about his opinion.

  12. The Chargers will be ok even with all the injuries we still in game's as long as Herbert is healthy. Even with the really bad injurries in game they can only beat us by a field goal really.

  13. Nick the clown back at it again!!!! Guess excuses only work for the chiefs and mahomo!!!! Can’t make this 💩 up with this guy!!!! 🤦‍♂️

  14. My bro stop wasting your time with this clown. This guy is an idiot. OK because I am going to ask one question the last 20 Super Bowl champions which one did not have a bad loss in the regular season and they still want to win the Super Bowl this guy is an idiot. He’s a clown and he became a chiefs fan. When they got Mahomes where was he before that? Thank you I rest my case.

  15. The pressure situation is falling on the GM and the head coach you have to give up drafts. You have to make trade. It’s as simple as that if you wanna save this guy from getting killed.

  16. Soooo Mahomes can’t be awful for two games but everything around him can be awful?!? Gtfoh! The Herbert slander is so ridiculous! 😂😂

  17. Nick is an idiot and a Herbert hater because Herbo and the Chargers are the biggest threats to the Chiefs in the AFC West. I will say tho, Herbert needs to recognize that his OL is getting dominated and needs to take off and run rather than try to get through all of his progressions. He is taking WAY too many hits and will end up like Burrow on IR if Harbaugh and Roman don't put him in a better position. Hoping for a big bounce back game against the Redskins! #BOLTUP

  18. KC Cheats #1 media cheerleader throws shade and talks b.s. against the Bolts and Herbert the worst things worst crew which is Prick Wrong and his two lap dog co hosts are nothing more than a KC Cheats team spirit rally F.T.C. as well as their fat ass coach And their moronic fans and especialy Mrs Mahomo aka Prick Wrong.

  19. I didn't watch anything past Hegseth. And honesty i stand behind just about everything he said about what needs the change in todays military. My only gripe is thr beard part. Having a beard doesnt make you look any less professional as long as its well groomed and taken care of… granted…i dont believe joes should walk around looking like Vikings either…but a 1/2" to 1" shouldn't be any issue.

  20. Justin Herbert is an elite QB who can do everything Patrick Mahomes can do, this was a trap game for the chargers I knew we would lose because of the injuries to the O-line and just that odd feeling. They’ll be back on track just have to lean on the run for now to protect Herbs

  21. You gotta admit. Roman’s inability to adjust his play calling based on the available personnel and game situations is not only gonna lose games, but it could get Herbert seriously injured.
No screens, no draws, no reverses, no designed QB runs to slow down the rush.
This game looked like a scripted Charger loss. Give up an easy TD on the first drive and hang back without taking over the rest of the game.

  22. And it seems most of Herbert’s drops are potential 1st down conversions. That would be an interesting stat to look at. Are the drops coming when they matter most?

  23. I really could care less what Nick Wright has to say about the Chargers. We’re starting 3 back ups on the oline so obviously Justin isn’t going to get that time he needs in the pocket. Watching the All-22 film, and he basically maybe had a clean pocket like 3-4 times MAYBE? They definitely need to let Omarion run the ball!!

  24. Nick Wright is the worst analyst. He is so far up Mahomes ××× its sick. You take away 1int and clean up a few penalties and chargers win. Their defense shutdown Giants offense that whole 2nd half until an int put them on the 1 and a penalty put them on the 2 for a 2 pointer
