Welcome to the men’s final and the last final of the regular season in 2025. This is such a great rivalry. Jack Robinson from Western Australia taking on San Clementi, California’s Griffin Colola Pinto representing the USA. Door has the yell of a paddling now. Jack Robinson scrapping into this one. Wide open pit. He’s deep on it. Bravo wants to make it after the spin. Oh my goodness gracious me. What a amazing act on the back hand. The Eric Arakawa with the Andy Irons airbrush on the bottom giving him the mojo that he wanted here on finals day. That was impressive. Yes, smaller wave, but technically this thing was round. Look how deep he is. This is incredible. I mean, and another make for Jack. It’s all in positioning. Like just expert positioning on the reef. Griff had the inside the whole time. He was being pretty staunch. Wasn’t giving it up. But Jack just kept on kind of pushing him back up and then coming back in. Then a set came and then they flagged it and then he’s ended up underneath him here. Uh which is just it’s just goes to show how much he knows this wave. And look at how beautiful that tube was and a massive spit. It’s just his wave selection is uncanny. And then Griff behind. We’ll catch up with that in a minute. But yeah, this angle looks amazing. Oh, just wave selection, too. I mean, you said positioning from the takeoff just to get the depth, but really to have the awareness that this thing Yeah. a little bit smaller, but this is going to be perfectly cylindrical on the race. It’s going to give me that exit. I mean, the speed you’re not really in control of. He is in control of it live. Griffinto grabbing the rail. Nice drive. Nice line. Another make there for Griff on his 22nd wave here on finals day. And then the giant number drifting in for Jack Robinson on the start. Oh my god. Every wave he gets spits so hard. Yeah, you almost got a little hung up on the takeoff there to just add a little bit of drama to the wave and it’s it’s a nice score on the board and it’s a it’s a bigger wave. But um yes, just didn’t have that same kind of run to it that Robos did. But it’s a it’s a great start for Griff to get a completion. Yeah, I agree with you. uh he he kind of was looking a little like ahead of himself and and and not really in you know in tune with with like his equipment and the wave and just there was just a lot that he you know wasn’t suited to him but FG is a different story for punching out of this one is Griff and Colinto as just a 1.51 that he was chasing take another look front on Griff here flick yeah so Griff on this first one little foamy tube he does get the completion here but Jack’s on the one behind it grabs the rail the arc Kawa burning off some speed. Disappears for a moment. Puts the hand up with the spit out of the cannon and then hops out. Two looks and two completions for Jack Rambo. Can his eight but then behind him. Second wave of the set. This one a bit more groomed. Jack, great read on this one again. And yeah, to your point Stace, I think it’s going to become more crucial to make sure you are on that maybe second one that is a bit more groomed. Just Jack having that awareness here. Just I mean another great tube ride. He’s going to back up the 95 nicely. And Griffin’s having a hard paddle here. Griffin looking using priority. Pulls in. Still traveling. This one stretching on him and also clamping. Was that his last chance? Use priority. Ends up underwater. Jack takes priority. So crazy. You spoke about the loss at pipeline. I reckon they’re the kind of things that would motivate him to to be on his best today. Waves are firing. It’s his to lose. Play it smart. Be on the best waves and and and just lean into all your strengths. And he’s absolutely nailed that today. He’s he’s been flawless. What a warrior. And just so cool to see that Andy Iron spray job on that Eric Arakawa. Jack finding so much in inspiration from the Irons brothers and he’s always just been a class act. Jack Robinson does it again. twotime champ of the Lexus TD Pro presented by IC and Robinson’s going to Cloud Break where he’ll be the number four seed in the Lexus WSL Finals Fiji. This is just day sharp move, right? I mean, he was even with even more of an outside chance this time around compared to 2023 as we see Julia on screen. Wife just so stoked for Jack. But it’s it is weird. It’s scary good. That’s what it is. It is scary good and it sends such a crazy message to all the competitors. I think Jack’s strike rate out here is unbelievable. Stace when we’re on dawn patrol, we kind of were putting out what was on the line for Jack for his reputation, you know, to win when it’s firing and all of a sudden also seeing those scenarios that he had before where he had a late charge in the title race. He did it again in bigger surf this time, but also being that clutch on a finals day. That’s insane. So crazy. You spoke about the loss at pipeline. I was talking to Mason Hoe last night. He spent some time with Jack on his podcast with Jamie O’Brien and but also seen him grow up. You know, he he he calls him a little big bro. You know, Mason a little bit older than Jack, but he said Jack’s always had respect. And he would notice in big sessions when the waves were really scary, teenagers and the older guard would have fear in their eyes. And Jack would handle those smiling and he’d wait for his turn. And when he got it, he would capitalize. And Mason finds a lot of inspiration what Jack’s been doing and how he handles himself globally. And you’re seeing a big smile from a man turned in a brilliant performance. He’s going to share with his family here. Oh, it’s good to see some emotion out of Jackie boy. The whisper’s gone.
