With the 2025 Ryder Cup now in the rearview mirror, attentions will quickly turn towards the next edition of the event in two years time.

Limerick’s Adare Manor is set to host the Ryder Cup in 2027, the second time in its illustrious history that the event will have taken place in Ireland.

You can expect it to be quite a different affair to this year’s iteration at Bethpage. The behaviour of the home fans is certainly something that you would not expect to see repeated, with Rory McIlroy having already asked that the supporters in Ireland not repeat the antics of their American counterparts.

As for the course itself, some believe that it should contribute to a far more entertaining Ryder Cup.

Padraig Harrington Says Adare Will Bring More Ryder Cup Drama Than Bethpage

While Bethpage is an iconic venue, there were some criticisms over the way it was set up for the Ryder Cup. The trademark heavy rough at the New York venue was severely stripped back, meaning there was jeopardy for players who missed the fairway off the tee.

There some incredibly low scores posted across the weekend, although that might not quite be the case in 2027.

Speaking on RTÉ Today, Padraig Harrington suggested that Adare Manor is ideally setup for a dramatic few days of action.

I think the golf course in Adare will be a bit more dramatic and exciting for matchplay (than Bethpage).

There are some spectacular holes, particularly at the end, in Adare that will lead to players making mistakes, dramatic mistakes. They can hit it in the water on 15, 16 and 18.

There will be a lot more drama with a backdrop so beautiful. It will look so good on TV and will likely be one of the more pleasant Ryder Cups to be at.

There is still a long way to go before the next edition of the Ryder Cup, but it seems clear that those involved in the game are already looking forward to what should be a fantastic week of golf in Ireland.

For now, the European players can enjoy their celebrations for a bit longer before worrying about what might come next.
