ERIE, Colo. — The Eagles took on the Colorado National Golf Course in the Mark Simpson Invitational, placing in a tie for 13th (E) with a plethora of under-par rounds from the team. EWU’s team score.
“Super happy for Cal [Anderson] and how he came back with rounds of 69 and 68 in the final two rounds,” head coach Russell Grove said. “His start to his college career is going to be a spring board for his future. As a team, we continue to learn and improve. With a brand new program, I’m still learning the guys’ personalities and how to best coach them. I know that week were everything comes together is on the way.”
Cal Anderson finished up his week in Colorado with one of his best rounds of the season at 68 (-4). Anderson finished 210 (-6) on the week to lead Eastern and tied for 21st on the individual leaderboard, his best finish of the season.
Hogan Park assisted in the scoring for the Eagles, shooting a personal best round of 69 (-3). Park also finished in a tie for 52nd, shooting 215 (-1).
Zach Miller competed in his first tournament with the Eagles as the Oregon State transfer put together three solid rounds with a best of 71 (-1). Miller finished 219 (+3) and knotted up at 67th on the leaderboard
Arkansas State finished at (-42) to claim the team title. Arkansas was led by the solo title winner Thomas Schmidt, who shot a 194 (-22).

Eastern has a week off before heading to Salem, Oregon, to play in the Beaver Invitational. The Beaver Invitational takes place at Illahe Hills Golf Course in Salem, Oregon. The tournament is set to take place on October 13th (Monday) through October 15th (Wednesday).
