It’s another day in paradise on the LPGA Tour where on this championship Saturday, a major champion and a couple of rookies are vying for a coveted title at Haka Lake Country Club. Grant Brune and Karen Stubbles watching some of the action in the final pair. It’s the Russian rookie Natalyia Gusa to tie the lead. Now, no sign of nerves on this first hole as she rolls in that birdie nicely. She playing with Ellen Kim, US Open champ from 2020. But it’s another rookie like goose about Austin Kim from Florida played at Vanderbilt. What a start for her. Well, it really was. Had to hit that quite firmly. Struggle with her putting yesterday but showing good signs in the early going today. Her fourth birdie in six holes takes her to 14. Here’s Kim. Third shot part by fifth. And really not that easy to to judge that ball was below the surface of the green but plenty of spin on it. That would lead to a birdie. Guusa trying to keep pace for birdie of her own has puted really well all week and continuing that same form. So both 15 under with Austin Kim at minus 14. Then just moments ago at the par for sixth Kim second and you thought this would be a little bit more difficult way below her feet from the rough but wow able to get that to spin and controlled that beautifully trying to win for the first time as an LPGA member. She wasn’t even on the LPGA tour when she won the US Open in December of 2020 in Houston. Now it’s Chem up by one. Gustiva just a shot back. Austin Kemp has picked up four shots in her first eight. Is it too late maybe for one of these others chasing to catch the leaders? It’s the final round in Hawaii. [Music] NBC Sports and the LPGA Tour proudly present the seasonl long race to the CME Globe from the island of Aahu in Hawaii. It’s final round coverage of the Lote Championship presented by Hakale. The MPGA tour has been coming to Hawaii for more than 40 years and Elotti Palace not far away. King Kamehameha honored there. This is the 12th year of the Lay Championship and the third year it’s been played here at Eva Beach at Haka Country Club. The wind always the best defense of par here, but with a little softer golf course. It’s been playing a little bit more friendly. They’re playing for that Lay World Trophy. Karen and I are joined by Tom Abbott and Kay Cochril who are out of the golf course for what should be a really fun finish here. Karen, it’s going to be fascinating. Some of the hardest golf holes on this golf course are playing that back nine. So you build your lead early and then you try and maybe expand on it but definitely not let any slip away. It’s going to be interesting. That’s how it looks on that leaderboard. And I Kim is at the seventh and so is Kay Cochrell following the final pair. Aloha K. Aloha and good afternoon. So far this has been a really interesting fight between these two players who are playing equally well. They each have three birdies and a bogey on the round so far. Kim trying to make it two birdies in a row. Actually, three birdies in a row. She’s been impressive all week, Karen. Yes, she has. And uh across the board really good with the driver. She made some adjustments with the short game to get the wedges a little bit closer. So, we saw an improvement in that. But the Potter has always has been very good all week. All right, in the pair just ahead at the eight, this is the veteran from SoCal, Ryan Otul and Tom Abbott is uh out there. He’s actually in the group ahead with Austin Kim. So we’ll check in with Tom in a moment. U with a good one. Not too far back, you don’t think? Or is she? No, she’s only four back. Uh that back N does get pretty tough. So if those leaders uh falter a little bit and she could make a move, you never know what could happen. Here is the player they called the goose. Natalyia Gusa at seven. Pretty darn straight putt. Yeah, just wiggled right at the end. There was a little bit of grain pulled to the right. How about Gustifer this week? Again, very similar to to Alen Kim. The pair of them driving the ball insanely well. Gustifer, I think, has the advantage with her iron play. She seems to be certainly yesterday, was really dialed in with those shots. And so, it’s all going to come down to who’s going to make these putts coming down the stretch and who can hold their nerve. I mean, Aim is a winner. She’s a major champion. She knows how to get the job done. And this is Christopher’s first time in this situation. So, um, depends if she can just stick to her game plan and, uh, find a little bit of magic. had a two-shot lead late, but Kim came back at the end. We said there’s so much to play for this week, and for Angela Stanford, she’s playing to play one final event in her 24-year LPGA career. She’s at the 16th. She’s got to move up inside the top 135 in the race to the CME Globe to get a spot next week at the Pelican. She’s right on that number with two and a half holes to play. Here’s Otul at the eighth. And so far, what we’re seeing is a lot of players that that are reading more into these putts than they’re actually are. Took Nelly Corda to extra holes at Palos Veries, not far from where she grew up in Southern California back in March. closest call that Otul has had. All right, we are at the par three night where we saw an ace. In fact, Tom was there and saw it yesterday and now he’s watching Austin Kim. Yeah, but big change today. This is probably the biggest change that the players will face. The tea has been moved back to the back tea has not been used so far this week. So, uh it’s actually a 51 yard difference from the yardage they had yesterday with the back hole location. The seven iron here for Austin Kim straight down the breeze. Miss on an aggressive line if it’s the right club could be really good. Oh, she got a lot of lot of ball on that with a seven arm. I mean that pitch 191 even a little bit downwind that shows you the kind of power that that she has. Speaking of power on the tea of the eighth, we’re going to see a couple of powerful players in this final pair. Here’s Kim. hardest hole on the golf course and it’s because that bunker on the right comes into play. Kim hit it in there a couple days ago. She’s had trouble finding this fairway. It It’s It’s an intimidating T-OT. There are a couple out here that are particularly difficult. And this one, I would say, is one of the hardest. The water runs up the entire lefthand side. You can’t help but look at it. And then there are a couple bunkers on the right. And I think if the wind were a little bit lighter, these two long hitters would hit 3-wood off this tea. Shot of 255 will get you into into those bunkers. Yeah, Gustva hit a T- shot very similar yesterday. A low draw. Just a beautiful T-OT. Up ahead, Jin Young Co. running out of time if she’s going to win this week. That will help. So, Jin Young picks up a shot, gets to 11 under. She’s won seven consecutive years, looking for her first in 2024. Elen Kim leading by one as she was when the round began. Final pair is at the eighth. And whose first play here? It’s going to be Kim K. It will be. And this is the first fairway that she has missed today. But I don’t think she’d be displeased with it. Um she’s in the lighter up the roughs. Good angle actually from this right hand side. 151 yards to the hole. Wind does not seem as intense as it was yesterday. At this time, it’s still there and it’s still a club and a half to two club wind, but it’s not as hard as it was blowing yesterday. Got to expect this to take a hop when it hits the green. Yeah, green’s firming up a little bit. Even though we did get us just a little bit of rain a couple hours ago, it wasn’t wasn’t enough to really change the conditions. Now, Gustava, that was a sixiron for aim. And just a few pieces ahead on the left hand side of the fairway, Gus also going with sixiron. 143 yds playing this more like 160. She likes to flight the ball down. Absolutely ripped a five iron into this hole yesterday and made birdie. Just four birdies made on eight yesterday. Yeah, that seemed like that was a lot of club for her. That thing just went right through the any wind that was into her. Right from behind the ninth green, Austin Kim. Yeah. downhill lie as you saw from the T-shot. Very aggressive. Looks like she’s going to try and play this one low, which she does. Aggressive. So, it’s going to leave her a little bit of work left for her par. She’s an aggressive player. We’ve seen that in her rookie year. No question. I mean, she should be and she hits the ball a long way. I mean, at some point, you do have to take advantage of that. So, again, Angela Stanford at the 16th hole. She needs to probably play these last two and a half holes in one under to get a spot next week at the Pelican event. It’s a tougher field to get in. It’s going to be really strong. Nelly C is going to be there. Lilia Fu and now back to the ninth and Kim for par. I guess she would have seen this one come by the hole with the chair. Yeah, nicely done. looks comfortable for this first nine holes. I loved what she said yesterday, Karen. She’s she made a double bogey on the 15th hole. She said, “I know why I made those mistakes. I learned a lesson. I’m moving forward.” You know what? That’s that’s the biggest thing. Um is is being able to to make those adjustments that that you have to make in order to to keep moving forward and not getting caught up on them. Sounds a little more like a veteran than a rookie. Yeah. Angel Yen gets one to drop there. Say Frost, that’s that Vanderbilt education though for you. Smart cookie. Mhm. Anchor down. Yeah, she’d love to do that here on the island of Aahu. Here’s Jin Yong Co. Ting it up at the 9inth. We’ve seen her do some indescribable things in her seven seasons on the OPGA tour. Five back with nine and a half to play. That’s tall order. It is. But like I said yesterday, if you’re Ginyang Coasah, even if you do not win this week, it shows you that your game’s in a good place coming up with the final two events of the season. four different times she’s come from four shots back entering the final round. That’s among the best in the history of the LPGA tour. Kari Webb, Betsy King, or a couple of others who’ve done that that many times or more. The last of those was that victory at Upper Montlair last year came from behind to beat Miy Lee in the playoff. So you don’t count Jen Yango out ever if there’s still a chance. The math still works for her. We’re back at the eighth for a long birdie attempt for Guusa. Yeah, just off the putting surface and that was that was clearly a club too much, but I think that was a function of just misjudging both she and her caddy, misjudging the intensity of the wind. It was actually a well hit shot. just uh didn’t play as long as they thought it would. This will have a lot of left to right break to it. Trying to guide it down there close. If you had nerves, wouldn’t you see it potentially in a in a a putt like that, a delicate putt? You would. But I I feel like she’s a player that that all week long she’s looked very comfortable. She’s hitting the ball well. She’s making good putts. She hasn’t been afraid of the next putt. In fact, it’s almost as if she’s not even thinking about the next putt. Um, she’s very much in that moment of of playing quality golf. And you can tell it’s almost like she she’s excited at hitting the next shot because she knows it’s going to be a good one. Up ahead at the 10th, Nasa Hatoka. See, she’s four back. Would you believe three back? At least at the moment. Kim’s got a birdie putt at the eighth in a moment. at the ninth. This is Rhino Tulle maybe. So she’s going to go to 13 under. And back at the eighth here is Kim for birdie. This is basically a 10-foot shorter version of the putt that Gusa just had. Kim moved her ball mark out of the way. So, she got a really good teach. See if she can replicate what Natala just did. Oh, and way too much hit in that. Wow, that was shockingly off. That’s going to be a putt to stay in front by one. We saw a little bit out of the this from from Alen, but the past few days, distance control has been um different, but but in terms of the the putt, she’s been making putts of this length uh look very easy. I think this will be a good tester for us. Okay. Certainly watching her to see if she still has that that little something with with the putter that she’s had the first few days. I’m really surprised with that putt. I I I would have understood it if she were the first to putt, but having just watched Gusa putt the similar putt, she would have had the sense of the speed and she just really um hit it way too firmly. But now you’ve she’s facing an uphill putt that will have right to left break. So Karen, you’re a major champion. We’ve got Alien Kim here who won a US Women’s Open in 2020 with one of the great finishers we’ve ever seen. Three straight birdies to come from five back to win. You might say she’s got the advantage. Does she? That was four years ago. Goose was a rookie. Uh it’s definitely a long I think you do. I think in the back of your mind you you know that you have it. you know that you’ve done it before and you’ve done it in the major championship and it doesn’t matter how long ago it was, you you can always still hang your hat on the fact that you are a major champion and Christopher still doesn’t know if she has what it takes to win yet on this tour. Yeah, on this tour. So, yes, I I think Kim definitely has the advantage still, but this this will this will be very telling right here. She’s already had two three putts this week. K, you said it. It’s hard to go 72 holes around here without a three putt. That’s your third now. It is inevitably you’re going to have a couple of lengthy putts and judging the speed is very challenging. So, we have a tie again at the top. Elen Kem and Natalia Gusa with others closing fast. [Music] dollar purse and our final pair has reached the par three ninth. Just moments ago, we saw Ryan Oul hit it close, tapped in for birdie. So, she’s now just two back and Gusa has the box. That’s a heck of a birdie with this whole location tucked left over the bunker and with this T being moved back as Tom Abbott said a good 51 yards. whole different personality to this hole today. The wind has increased again. Oh, this is a pole with a draw. There’s a slope over there. This needs some luck. Oh boy. The penalty area comes in comes in tight and there’s some some, you know, weeds and inconsistent grasses over there. Jonathan Catsman, her caddyy taking a look. Well, the last time that a player won an LPGA event the same week that they made an ace was Nasahhata Okaoka in 2021 at the Walmart. She made two that week. Alen Kim made one yesterday. Here it was at the ninth. A one hopper. It was a very nice looking shot, but again, completely different hole. He was left a lot shorter. And here she is. Yeah, that looked like uh like a seven iron yesterday. They were hitting Yeah, she hit a nine iron in the hole. Players, some players were hitting wedge in. Not an ace, but given where Gusa is, I think uh maybe won’t argue. No, I think uh you always air on the side of caution when you’ve uh when you’re playing opponent has uh made a little error. Up ahead to the 10th and playing with Austin Kim is the rookie from Japan, Yuri Yoshida, who’s had a really nice week. Yeah, she has had a nice week. Been up at the top of the leaderboard and she’s in contention here. She chipped in a few holes ago back on the seventh. She actually got something in her eye before she pulled the trigger with the T-OT. So, she backed off and then hit a poor drive, which was uh kind of a a hook driver that just got over the bunkers. It’s actually lying very well, but it’s quite a long way back for this hole. Not a long hole. 138 yds and uh straight down the breeze. It’s lying very well in the rough. Austin Kim has knocked it by about uh 80 yards. And the breeze today, Tom, compared to yesterday. Yeah, I mean, it’s not quite as strong as it was the first couple of days. As Kay was saying, it’s still very much a factor. And as Ernie Als talked about when he uh discussed the philosophy of this golf course, he tried to design the holes so that with the prevailing wind, they were either downwind or into the breeze. And that’s pretty much the way it is. This holes down the breeze. That one sneaks on and she’s actually going to have a birdie chance. So you’ll see a lot of uh lot of the coverage here, but it’ll be downwind or into the breeze. Not a lot of crosswind. 18 is a par five that’s reachable in two. We were over at the 17th, which is one of those holes into the wind. And Angela Stanford, you see 147th. She needs to finish about 134th to get in next week. This is from Birdie and then drifts away. She chipped in at 18 Thursday in round two to go from one off the cut line to one inside of it. It’s going to be the final event of her 24-year career unless she moves up far enough to make it into next week. Meanwhile, you’ve got Austin Kim trying to win for the first time on the LPGA tour as a rookie. Here’s her second. Yeah, lovely drive from Austin Kim. She can boom it down into the low part of this. 75 yds to go and flick it in there. Want some spin. just didn’t quite get that grab that she was looking for, but it was a great looking swing with great rhythm. Nice little pause at the top of her back swing there. Just uh looked very nice. And now we’re seeing what Gusa has here at the ninth. K. Yeah, I think she was fairly relieved to see the ball on a relatively flat lie. Grass is a little inconsistent. Man, just got too much ball there. That was always going to be a tough shot down wind hitting up to an elevated green. Outstanding ball striker still trying to improve in the scrambling and sand save stats. So much promise. And now Stanford for her par. That’s a big one. She’ll go to the par 518th. She said she’s at peace. Whatever happens, if this is it for her, her 537th career start, she’s prepared. But she she um she wants to play next week. Here’s Rian Leu of China at the 15th. She’s had a really good season as you saw, 69th in the race to the CN Globe and it keeps getting better. That’s going to take her to 10 under. That gives us a little hint of some excitement that that we could see at 15 as the day goes on with that whole location being in a little bowl. Elimin Kim at the ninth. See if she can adjust her her speed issues from the last hole. Slightly downhill then flattens out. Putting kind of back into a quarter in that’s hurting. Well, she had the line for sure. Just obviously lacked the speed, but that will ensure a par most likely. Remember, she went what, 8 ft past or so on the previous hole. Yeah. Her first putt and missed the comebacker. Yeah, just one talks a lot about sort of disassociating the process from the results. She’ll say things like, “I’m just going to commit or hit my target and I don’t care where it goes.” So, obviously, she’s dealt at times with a little bit maybe too intensely being emotionally involved with the golf shot. Well, about about results, too, isn’t it? Like when you when you talk about process, you you’re taking yourself away from from the results, which means you can, you know, really stay in the moment and in that one shot at a time mentality that in order to be successful, you really have to have goose for par. Yeah, she got a good read off of Kim. Knows this works a little right to left and on the slower side at the end. Oh, good try. And that was a a rare wild shot. We haven’t seen her hit too many offline shots. Maybe the distance has been a little bit shorter long, but that was a pretty errant shot. She said she felt like she was more present on the front n yesterday and that on the back n she started thinking about what could be. It happens. It happens very, very quickly. You have to really stay in that moment and uh somehow lose yourself in your game. Austin Kim to tie the lead. Yeah. Back down the green looking for a little right to left but staying straight. And again it’s a putt that attacks the hole. began her rookie season with a tie for sixth, the drive-on championship in Bradenton. Playing well here at the end of the year. Leu has played well all season long and that tap in takes her inside the top 10. Veteran Caddyy John Khen on the bag. He’s seen some pretty good golf in his day, hasn’t he? He has. He’s cut it for a lot of uh very good players. Yuri Yoshida missed her birdie putt. You might see her coin over there to the right of Austin’s Candy Brendan. And now Austin with the comebacker to stay at 14 under tied for second. Yeah, Yuri Shu has had a couple of very good uh chances for birdie in the last few holes and that one uh was very close to going in. So certainly don’t count her out coming down the stretch here. She’s been looking good. But on these greens with the breeze, the putts uh from short range maybe a little more difficult than uh some other putting services and she’s looked very steady so far. Has Austin Kim talked this week about uh having the experience of playing in the breeze earlier this year in Scotland. Remember the horrible conditions that the tour had over the two weeks there. Although uh yeah, no problem at all. Although it’s very different temperatures, still it’s a case of getting used to the breeze. Not too often that the LPGA plays in really strong winds. She’s handled it so far. Tied for second [Music] at par 4 10th. The second shot for former number one of the world Jin Yong Co. The green slopes towards the players uh in the front, so she should be able to get this one to stop a little bit. [Applause] She was six back just a couple of holes ago and she’ll have that putt to get within three. Speaking of seeing good golf, Dave Rooker, how about that guy? Yes. Got some veteran caddies out here. NASA’s is Gregor Johnston. Been out here a long time. This is her for birdie at 11. Stay up. Two back. Yeah. Final pair is making the turn. They’re headed to the 10th T. And in the 10th fairway, here’s Oul. Yeah, she she has been terrific. No three putts this week for Rio Tool. That’s uh terribly impressive out there. I mean, we’ve seen how difficult it is. I mean, making 4footers are not is not that uh easy in that wind. Yeah. Here’s Ash Buhai, a major champ like you, Karen, an AIG Women’s Open winner. And this is for par 12th. befuddled. Look like she hit it where she wanted. Mhm. All right. And we’re keeping an eye on top 60 at the end of next week’s event down at Pelican near Tampa. Top 60 make it to Tibberon the following week for the CME Group Tour Championship. Here is the leader in stroke average among those who are eligible to win the Bear Trophy. Ayaka Budaway being under power again this week. That’ll help uh help that average just a smidge as well. She came in a hundth of a point ahead of Hit onu. Gino Titakun and Nelly Corda are ahead of her, but neither are going to have enough rounds to be eligible to win the Ver Trophy. This is how we look here as the final pair makes the turn. It was a one-shot lead for LM Kim when the day began. It’s still one over the rookies Kim and Gusa, but now a few others are at least there with a fighting chance. One of those is Jin Young co. This for birdie gets to 12 under. Look out from six back to three down. and uh without question the most accomplished of anyone with a chance to win here. 15 wins, a couple of major championships, more weeks at number one in the world than anyone in the 18-year history of the rankings to 12. NASA. Wow. Just pushed it by an inch. It’s just sneaking up there. She’s the next most accomplished besides Chin Young. Absolutely. Yeah. Ryan Oul, she said, “I’m going to have blinders on today.” She said, “I didn’t think I had any chance to win at Palace Veries. I just posted a number and all of a sudden I was in a playoff.” [Music] Easier said than done. You have to be really disciplined uh to do that. To not look at leaderboards, to to not try and pay attention, to not hear the cheers around. She’s had the reps, though. She has. 14 years out here. She’s a winner. Well, here we go. This is Angela Stanford. Third shot, par 518th. Up and down to play next week. perhaps trying for the chunk and run. Well, just didn’t get enough run. We can’t make any pronouncement yet. It’s going to be too close to call, but um there’ll be some anxious moments in the next few minutes and days as she waits to find out if she will make it into next week’s event or if this is indeed the end of her outstanding career. Leading by one on the tea at the tenth, Ailen Kim. Yeah, these two players I think really have pretty good control of their golf game through seven holes and then traded bogeies on eight and nine. Alim making a good drive there, taking it down to the right hand side. That’s ideal. This wind helps off the tea and blows right to left. It’s very easy to end up in the left rough and that just makes spinning it and getting it close on this green a little tougher, easier from the fairway. Gooseb shouldn’t have any problem carrying the bunkers mashed potato. She went after that one. Well, they’re emptying the chamber with all the all the calls, aren’t they? Aren’t they our final pair? Smashed it. The baba buoy and the mashed potato. All right, Angela Stanford for birdie at 18. [Music] Well, we won’t know yet, but if this is it, Angela Stanford, you have made your family proud. You’ve made innumerable fans, none bigger than your late mom, Nan. You’ve made the tour better. You’ve made and continue to make a difference in the game and pay it forward to the next generation. And you are loved by so many, including us. And we hope to see you next week [Music] at the downwind par4 10th. Our final pair has found the fairway and Natalyia Gusa to go first. You’re right on it. Yeah, that was a good drive down the left hand side and with this left-hand hole location looking right down the chute downwind at the flag stick 85 yds and she’s just going to go with a little gap wedge. Uses kind of thinks about 10:00 to 2:00 finish on her swing to control the distance. Karen, a lot of game and a lot of flare, too, right? For Italia. Well, I just I just really like the game. I mean, you you you talk about, you know, the quality T-shots. She’s had some quality yards. I know there’s been the odd one that has gone a drift, but in general, for a rookie, I’ve seen a lot of really good things out of her. The putting, the temperament, the composure, she’s got a lot going for her. She sure does. And now leading by one, here’s Kim. 10 yards ahead, but from the right hand side of the fairway. Oh, how about that for precision? A lot of flare in her own right. Just a bubbly personality, grinning ear to ear since the minute she joined the LPGA tour after winning that US Women’s Open. We couldn’t see the smile because she had the mask on that day, but uh been smiling ever since. She has a lot of lot of personality. I was uh following Amy Yang in the final round when Amy won KPMG Women’s PJ Championship and Alen Kim was out there following along watching and she even took over control of somebody’s camera to take pictures of her friend uh winning. So she is a great supporter of the other players on tour, but also they are supportive of her as well and so a friend to to a lot of players. Austin Kim in St. Augustine, Florida mentioned you you mentioned that she played at Vanderbilt. She came off the Epson tour and in fact, you talk about flare for the dramatic outside the top 10 to get her card last year. She won the season ender, the tour championship, came from behind on that Sunday, moved to third on the Epsentur money list, and she has been very impressive from week one with that tie for sixth in the first event. And here she is with a great chance to win. She plays the 11th. T’s been moved up again on the on the 11th. That’s well done. I think she’ll take that. I mean, it’s still a tricky length, but uh from that kind of long range, it’s very well done. So, that left to stay 14 under. We’re back at 10th and Gusa to go first. Kim isn’t quite a tap in, right Kay? No. No, not a gimme. This putt is downhill. Not a whole lot of movement to it. Might pull down to her left, but putting back into the wind, which is kind of laid down for the moment. If you were in that final pair, would you be in a match play mindset or not? at this point you can’t really allow yourself to be um I mean obviously you know that you you got somebody ahead of you if you want to win you’re going to have to to score better than they do however uh you can never allow yourself to push to try and to make up ground to try and make it happen. You kind of have to keep playing your game. play aggressively when you when you have to to to try and make some birdies, but without compromising uh the score that you have already. It’s it’s a it’s a balancing act uh that you have to learn uh or or to um to get accustomed to um because most players when they’re in this position for the first time, they’ll push like if if Am goes ahead and makes this putt, all of a sudden she’s got a two shot lead. It might cause Natalia to to try and push a little bit to make up the ground and then the mistakes can happen even more as opposed to just playing your game and seeing where things shake out. Really nice great T- shot. Lovely approach. Pays it off and just a couple of holes after she was tied. It’s Ken in front by two. Angela Stanford just finished up. She’s got her cake. She can eat it, too. She deserves it. [Applause] [Music] The lead is two for Ilen Kim on the tea at the par five 11th. Yeah, just going to try to hit one or really solid here to give her a chance going for it in two. might have hit that a little further right than she would have liked. And now Gustava. Natalia tends to hit a more penetrating T-shot with a little draw, baby. Actually, that one was was had a little more height to it and down the right side. Ball speed or swing speed has been clocked 104. Well, I mean both of them very accomplished off the tea. Austin Kim, this is the comebacker for par. Okay, so she stays tied for second and we send it down to Tom with a very special guest. Yes, here with Angela Stanford wearing her lays that were dipped in the cake that you uh received as you walked off the 18th. It was a special moment for you. What was it like out there during this round for you today? It was actually really peaceful. Um I kind of told myself going in I just kind of wanted to be me again, you know, this last round, be me. And um when I made the turn on the back n I knew I probably needed a birdie, especially after the Boeing young 12. So that’s I’ve just always kind of been a fighter. So let’s just finish it the way we’ve we’ve been going all along. So it was great. You’ve talked about being comfortable whatever happens whether you get into next week or not. Why were you comfortable finishing here in Hawaii? Just seemed perfect. Um you know I’ve I’ve talked about how my mother loved it here. I love the vibe. I love, you know, every time I come here, um, I play pretty well. Um, and I just, you’re just kind of detached from everything and, um, I just, it’s a beautiful place and just laidback, easygoing, and just a great way to to be finished if I’m finished. You have a lot more to give to the game, I think, but not as a player. You’re coming towards the end of your playing days. What do you think or want your legacy to be as a player on the LPGA tour? that I love the tour and that I never gave up. You know, I think if you could talk to however many caddies I had throughout the years, they would tell you with all my faults, the one thing I did is I never gave up. Um, so hopefully that’s what people remember in me. Um, and um, I don’t know that hopefully that I just helped the tour. Congratulations, Andrew, on an amazing run on the LPGA tour and we’ll look forward to seeing you back out here again in the future, but not as a player. But uh it’s been amazing to watch and we really appreciate everything you’ve done for the game. Thank you, Tom. We’re not giving up the hope that she could play next week. Yeah. Her mom Nan past week couple of marches ago. Loved it here. And Angela who said she didn’t really like to travel much. She won in Mexico. She won in Hawaii. She won in Singapore. She won that major in France. and she joins Karen an illustrious list of players who’ve told us this year that they’re saying goodbye. There comes a point in everybody’s career where enough you just it’s done and you and you know Angela is is a rare breed that that was able to play for over 20 years. Um that’s a serious accomplishment and achievement not only in ability. Um but also in the mental resilience that it takes to to do it year in and year out. And uh that bubbly is well and truly deserved. Probably more so than the cake, I think. Yeah, tiny bubbles as the great Don Hoang. Welld deserved. Got her good buddy Dory Carter here. cheering her on. Nasa Hatoka making a move here. She’s moved up into a tie for second. How about one back? Here comes Nasa. All of a sudden, those players that were at the top of the leaderboard are going to take a look and glance at the leaderboard and go, “Wait a minute. Where’d she come from?” Yeah, she shot 74 in the opening round. She was eight shots off the lead miles back. she’s trying to do to Ailen Kim what AIM did to everyone in Houston when she won the US Women’s Open. Here is Ailim up by one now at the 11th. Deciding not to to give it a rip. I think um she’s 197 yards to the front and with the hole where it is, she’s going to lay it up and and play it more like a three shot hole and just doesn’t want that water to come into play or perhaps the trees in the rough on the left. ball. So, it’s got to be playing with this wind. It’s got to be playing waving to the fans after a layup. That’s kind of kind of a li for you, I think. Four iron or you take a little more of a direct line and you hit five. But if you’re playing to lay it up, you know, we don’t want to go too far after. Get used to that face. Natalyia Gusa, rookie. Yeah. Four iron finishing just in just a little left of the left edge. Trying to join this list. Three would have just been risky, you think? Yeah. So, I mean, numbers wise, I think it works out, but the target’s pretty darn small. Yeah. You know, so I mean, I like it from is not going to get us through that left side. Are you sure? Uh, I I I can’t imagine right now that it it flies 176. Okay. Into this wind because it’s mostly straight in a little off the left. Okay. All right. That’s the voice of Jonathan Cat who they came together towards the end of the Epson season and second week together. They won her solo Epson Tour event and then carried on to the Q series where she earned her card. Yesterday she gave a rip at the screen and ended up well left. I think this is smarter play today. We saw those first time winners in our KPMG insights. There were 12 of them last year, just four this year. And guess what? Austin Kemp would make it five. Third shot at the par five 11th for the leader, Ellen Kim. The hole is located a few steps past a mound on the left. Wind picking up again, hurting from the left. Little 60 shot for Alen. See how she can manufacture something here. Went ahead with the the high full shot. Making that ball dance. That was definitely That was her game plan. K. She was looking left all the way and looking for that slope. That’s a crowd-pleaser right there. She’s a crowd-pleaser for sure. to 12 and the T-shot of Ryan Ourel [Applause] another chance. Nasahhata Okoka is three groups in front of that final pair. And here’s Gustava’s third. it going a lower route trying to bump it over that that hump and there’s an effective uh use of the ground game. Well done. That’s really that is good because you have to pick out a spot which you want to land and you have to work out the trajectory that you want to to hit it to get the expected release. Ginyongo at the 12th. Her season really was hampered by an injury early in the year. She’s been fighting that ever since. She still had a good year. Goodness, 13th in the race to the CME Globe. Lost a playoff to hate on you in Boston back in September. All right, here is the par five 11th in birdie putts for Kim and Gusupa. Boy, the way that aim is just looking so calm and composed right now. She kind of deflected a couple of bogeies that she made on the front. Didn’t keep making mistakes and and wow, her her short game, her wedge game is looking stellar. Looking down at the grain. Really trying to feel both the slope and it should have a little left to right pull. The grain should go towards the back of the green. I think her big focus has just been commitment. You know, pick a target, commit to the shot, and see what happens. So, let’s let’s see if she can commit to this line and maybe hit it a little firmer to take away that grain. Yes. Uhhuh. Wow. That she almost played a dead straight putt as firm as she hit that. Beautiful. Almost looked like an 18th hole kind of a reaction. She’s fired up. Yeah. Yeah. She knows that she’s not letting uh get closer to her because Christopher, you know, obviously has a putt now for her birdie as well. And so she’s the first this week to get to 17 under. We mentioned it 12 under and 11 under. One of the the first two years that the tournament was played at Hakale, but with the softer conditions. K, we’ve seen this from really from day one. The heavy rain early Tuesday morning, the day before the tournament. Really, all of the contenders have above average length. And this being Gusa’s first time here, she doesn’t know how firm and fast the course played last year. She’s she’s seeing this course for the first time and taking it as is. But this is a must make. She’s got to stay pace. Very nice. It’s pretty solid. It’s good stuff. It really is. Yeah. Love it. Rookie got NASA chasing. Alen Kim trying to win her second event. All right, Tom Abbott has caught up now with Nasa Hatoka who’s redot as she plays 14. Yeah, she’s got a good chance here. There’s 111 yards into the breeze. Try to keep it below the hole if she can. And it looks like she’s going to do that. She’s going to leave a a birdie chance. It’s okay, isn’t it? It is. I mean, leaving it below the hole, putting up. I mean it’ll be uh little slow but you’d rather that than really quick one at the 12th a tool to get a little closer. Give it a go. She’s putting with a lot of confidence and that’s the club that she has said has held her back. Doesn’t look like it here. Playing great. Here’s Austin Kim also playing well. Second and 13. Another huge drive. A little bit downwind made that more difficult to to get the spin that she she was requiring on that. And also it was such a delicate sort of touchy shot. Um you’re not going to get a huge amount of spin off those either. She better get used to it. And I know she is cuz she’s going to have a lot of those with kind of power that she possesses. So, Alen Kim went first on the 11th and rolled in that birdie putt ahead of Gusa keeps the lead at two. And back we go to the 14th. Nasahhatoka was 88th after the opening round when she shot 74. And now she’s got a putt to get within one. Yeah, I think she’s got a good chance here. As Karen was saying, back up the hill. There is a leaderboard behind this green and Hakatti looks like he’s just peering towards it. So, uh, they’ll get a sense of where they are and what they need to do over the closing stretch of this golf course. And we know that there you know there are a couple of difficult holes coming in but then 18 I think will be the interesting uh factor coming in whether players can make a birdie may maybe even an eagle and uh really change the outcome of the L championship. But a good look here close enough to that green where hopefully the first part of the putt where she’s just off the putting surface won’t make too much of a difference. Yeah, it was always going to be slow. She’s a brand ambassador for Hilton Grand Vacations, the sponsor of the season opening tournament of champions. He needs to win one of these next events today or the next couple of weeks to get back into that tournament of champions in January. Her last win was 2022. Now the T at the 12th, Elen Kim going with an eight iron. Starting this right, the wind is dead down. not help. Not right to left and not coming up short right off the back of the 13th Austin Kim for birdie. Another aggressive one. thinking that love the spirit, the energy and another rookie, Guza at 12. Yeah, this also an eight iron starting on a better line. Yeah, she got a putt uphill. Little bit of movement off those front bunkers, but [Music] Mrs. Ellen Kim with a two-shot lead, but she’s missed the green at the 12th. We’ll see. [Music] So, not in the bunker. Lim Kim her second at the par 31 12th. Not an easy shot at all. Hitting up to an elevated green. Less than perfect lie. Wind helping. It’ll be very hard to get this to land softly and spin. Oh wow. That’s one way to do it, right, Karen? Yeah, it’s uh doesn’t have to land softly if it’s going to hit the flag. I mean, almost a little bit unlucky didn’t go in. She hooped it. She But the flag spit the stick hit spit it back out. So, Gustaf is going to have a birdie putt here in a moment to get within one, but no dropped shot for Elen Kim. No, some might think that was bad luck, but that was lucky. That thing was humming coming in there. And uh she will be very happy to walk away with an easy three. Well done. She can laugh about it now. I shall say 17 under [Music] the clock the last couple of days. Let’s hope that’s not an issue today. No, it hasn’t been at all. Good. There’s good pacing throughout to the 15th and Hataoka. Slightly back up the hill. The wind not quite as strong as it has been. This looks like a really wellont controlled golf swing from NASA. And we’ll give her a chance. And as we said, she’s three pairs ahead of that final two ball. So, a chance to post a number for NASA and put the pressure on these ones behind her. Here’s Gusa to get within one. Yeah, she’s just passed whole high left. Kind of a tricky putt to read. That was a good effort. I mean, she’s she’s doing all the right things. She’s uh putting good putts on it. I mean, I know it’s run past a little bit, but she’s got to feel like you’re giving yourself an opportunity to make it without scaring yourself too much. And the comebacker for Austin Kim at 13. She keeps giving herself these butts and she keeps making them. Well, yesterday that was not the case. Correct. uh she was really trying to jam those ones coming back yesterday and you said that she learned from that and what we’re seeing today is definitely the case. It’s a much smoother not trying to jam it in the hole as much. And no three putts for Austin today. Here’s Gusa. No problem. These rookies don’t look like it. No, they don’t. Very impressive from Moscow. first ever Russian to qualify for the LPGA Tour. Helm Kim wasn’t even on the LPGA tour when she won the US Women’s Open. 94th in the Rolex ranking. She got in because of the top 100 were granted entry that year. There was no qualifying because of CO. She beat the likes of Jin Young Co on that chilly Monday in Houston. Here’s Jin Young 13th. and a chance to get a little closer. It’s good to see Gin Yuno um playing well and you know working her way up that leaderboard. It’s been I mean I know she’s she’s had a fairly solid season, but it’s not quite as we’d expect to see from her. ball striking has not been as good as it has in, you know, those years like 21 or, you know, when she, you know, have those five wins, but um she’s gaining on it. Injuries have really taken their toll on her the last four years really. So, here’s Kim. Nice save. Stay two ahead. Pulls out the driver here. Yeah. Longer hitters don’t necessarily need driver here. Gusa hit four iron yesterday, but that breeze has abaded a bit like Tom mentioned. And it’s a fairly wide fairway. I mean, the only danger for ALM is if she takes it down the right hand side. I think yesterday she ended up going through into the rough and had a bit of an awkward lie, but she’s already proven today that she can manage awkward lies pretty well. I think so. That was a well struck drive. High and straight. Just a matter of whether it stays in the fairway or goes through into the rough a little rough. Let’s take a look at our KPMG insights. And you said it earlier, Karen, these are two great ball strikers, especially when it comes to the T-ball. No question. I mean, Kim just has a slight edge on Gusa, but driving distance very similar. Accuracy. Kim just a little bit better. But both of them pretty impressive. Even their club configuration is very similar. Karen, they both just carry three woods and and have a forearm in the bag with four wedges. Fore always is a giveaway within a player’s bag makeup in in how much of a ball striker they are and how powerful they are because uh the more powerful a player is, the more elevation and height they can get on those longer irons. Nasa for birdie. Yeah. First two/3s of this part back down the hill and just gave a little bit too much speed and she’s still in the hunt though. Back one to the 14th and the approach for Austin Kim. Oh, that was really good. She’ll have a great chance. End of a tie for second. Nasa for par. Okay. Did you get nervous when we showed that short putt? She was going to miss it. A little bit nervous. I did too for just a second. But we’re every every shot counts here for NASA. Bogey freed today. 64 the low round of the week in round two. Here’s Jin Yunko for birdie at 13. She’s still in it. That was a good looking strike. Really released the putt ahead better with that with that putt. Den Kim leading by two. Pack nine final round in the fairway at the 13th. Gustava took some extra time trying to figure out what club and how how far this was going to play. Starting on a good line and ending on a great one. Woo! Nearly holding out for the second time this week from the fairway. Did it in round two on the seventh. And now Kim from off the fairway. She sure hit a long drive and only has 66 yds to the hole, but that doesn’t guarantee that this is easy. She’s hitting up to elevated green. wind helping, but nothing seems to be too challenging for aim today. No. And both these players, Kim and Gustifer have played this hole particularly well. Kim has played this hole in three under pole already this week. Gustifer two under. So, both of them enjoying that 13th hole. Austin Kim to get within two. Well, like Gustava and Kim in the final pair, she on the season hasn’t hit a ton of fairways, but when you hit it as far as they do, sometimes you can get away with a missed fairway. Oh, yeah. Or two, can’t you? At 16, Hatoka flag on the back right of this green. So the left fairway is the preferable one. Remember, it’s a split fairway here with a penalty area down the middle. And that one’s just fine. To the 15th and Austin Kim, you see the double bogey. That’s the hole. She three putted from short range, owned it, said she’s going to learn from it, and she seems to have today as you noted. Be a little quick putt back down towards that hole, but she’ll have a chance. Back we go to 13 and Kim lining up a putt for birdie. These two players have played together a couple of times, once in competition a couple weeks ago at the Toto in Japan and they played played a couple practice rounds together and so I think that was favorable for both of them that they’re familiar with each other and just adds one less element of potential strangeness or uncomfortable You’re not uncomfortable very long after you’ve been with a limb Kim. She No, she’s just fun to play with. You know, after she made birdie at 11, she was off off the side of the green and waited around. And when she saw Gusa made birdie as well, she clapped the side of her leg. And Nat Natali didn’t see that. You guys didn’t see it. But it’s just another example of what makes aim special, that she of course wants to win and do well, but she’s not going to root against the person that she’s playing with. I know we say this all the time, Karen, but here you got a 21-year-old from Russia, player from Korea who came over and won a US Women’s Open, and you got Japan and of course the US there represented on the leaderboard. This is about a 18footer. Um, she’s really taking her time on this putt. I don’t know, Karen, if she’s just trying to read something into it or just trying to really get that final commitment of of her starting line and and just send it and and feel good about her her commitment to the putt. Well, she wants to keep that that that door closed on everybody else. Okay, that’s what she’s doing. I looked like she kind of pushed that out and almost made it anyway. [Applause] I love her reactions and she she kind of nods and waves to the crowd. [Music] Thought maybe it would curl in. So that door is a jar for Guusa. This to get within one with five to go. That’s what I like. Yeah. And that was the the magical gap wedge that she’s hit multiple times to good effect. It was the club she held out with on the 7th that really kind of ignited her round and got her in this tournament a couple days ago. Didn’t know that it lipped out. She couldn’t see the surface of the green. She got away with it. It’s count it. That was a sneaky one, but it’s in now. Mhm. And she’s just one back. So, the the gap when the day began is uh again one to the 16th we go. And Nasa 146 yds for the Japanese player. And the breeze into her face off the left. She’s pulled this against the wind and I think it’s going to be in the wrong quadrant of the green or section of the green. So, she’s going to have a little bit to think about with that birdie putt to the 15th. This would be bit of redemption after the double here yesterday. It’s 14 and 15. Some chances from inside 15 ft. Yeah. [Music] See, we’re seeing the seeing the difficulties. The back nine generally plays so much harder than that front nine. This is the 14th and a third for Ginyong Co. That’s how you play a bunker shot. I know it released a little bit, but I mean she’s so far below the green surface. She’s aiming well left. Club face was way open. Right now within one again to Gusa on the tea at the 14th. This is another one of the more challenging driving holes. Five fairway bunkers you have to avoid. Oh goodness. This is low and left. A pull hook. Uhoh. And cut out of the really thick stuff. It’s going to be tough to make par from there, but at least her ball is in play. That was very close to being really nasty. It’s unplayable really from over there. I think then over there. And it’s that it’s that small patch. She’s up next to that, but she should be able to punch it down there. She’s just going to have to manufacture a couple shots to make par advantage now to a limb. One of the poorest drives we’ve seen from Guusa. Yeah, that that is her miss. A low love shot, but we haven’t seen it very often. Well, that that’s a thing of beauty. That’s exactly what she needed. I really just liked her process. I mean, it’s been consistent across this whole week. She has that little preset move uh before she before she, you know, comes down into the ball before she takes the full swing proper. And it’s consistent. I mean, the players that do the best have a very consistent routine. NASA long one for birdie at 16. Yeah, she’s got to get a feel for the slope here. Comes over the ridge. Looks really good. Oh, Nasa. That was mega. [Music] And she has a chance. She’s won back. [Music] 12th playing at the Lotate Championship. It’s a traditional Wednesday through Saturday event. So we’re in the final round. Grant Boon, Karen Stuffles, Tom Abbott, Kay Cochrell, and the team. And this is what Kay was talking about. Look how close you think to having nothing from Natalia Gusa. Yeah. Okay. I mean, so your front is 140. I think it’s kind of nice. Yeah, cuz I mean it’s pretty soft up there, you know. Little bit of wind. Yeah. No, I like it. Yeah, you’re choking up on it a little bit. Sweet. Go in from your left. She’s very lucky in a couple of ways. Number one, that she’s not dealing with an unplayable lie. if she were a foot to the left. And number two, she actually has a chance of getting this onto the green. She needs to hit a low runner, but has to carry a fairway bunker that’s about 75 yds carry and make sure she doesn’t tick any tree limbs. Handy having that boron in the bag. K. Absolutely. Well, she punched it nicely, but leaked it out to the right. That’s not going to be an easy up and down from there. Meanwhile, up ahead, Jiny Young Co did not make her par putt and so Jin Young falls back as you see to minus 12. Meanwhile, Adam Kim in the fairway leading by one from dead center of the fairway 122 yds to the hole. Wind hurting. Playing a little bit more like a 135 yard shot. Yes. Okay, we got NASA three pairs ahead. who’s now at the 17th after the long birdie fell at 16. It’s not an easy T-shot this. It’s into the breeze, bunkers down the left, penalty area down the right, but that was a good swing. Very controlled and it’s going to be in good shape. To the 15th we go. And time running out for Jen Young Co. She’s got four holes to play. She trails by five, seven straight years with a victory, trying to extend it here late in the season. A popular spot. [Music] Just playing just that little bit longer today. just causing the players to not get that spin that we’ve seen earlier. Well, the winner of the L the first year it was played here at Haka, Hoju Kim, that was two years ago held off the Nako Shabuno. Still a good performance though. Another good week from her. Yeah, she came into the week 61st, one spot out of the number you need to get into the tour championship. And this will move her up bogey freed today, three under. She’ll have that for par and she’s projected to go to 58th. One of a number of players, Jin Young, Brook Henderson, who uh have not had a win this year. Here’s the third at the par for 14th for Gusa. See if she has a a little razledazzle she can show us here. 30 yard shot back into the wind. It’s been taking multiple practice swings. Just really trying to feel the fluidity. Um the size of the swing, understand how the the club’s going through the the rough. Kind of understandable, Karen, that she hit it a little too hard just to ensure it gets on the green cuz there’s a raised um slope in front of the green. There is. And she she tried to compensate a little bit for that by opening the club face just a little bit to try and judge how that was going to work out for her, but so difficult. I mean really the the T-shot was the has been the problem on the on this hole and even though she had a shot I mean it was always going to be difficult. Yeah. So she’s got that for par. Kim is going to have a putt for birdie. Nasa up ahead at the 17th. Let’s move ahead to the 16th. And here is Austin Kim. This is her third at the par four. She was in the penalty area able to go down there and pitch it out. And now working hard for a par and she just may get it. That was really well done. You could see that the control she was trying to get on that that little punch shot that she played there. That to stay bogey free today. Yeah. May not be enough to win, but another good week for the rookie. It’s so important for for players just just so they know that, you know, they can do it multiple weeks on tour. Ellen Kim has never been in this position leading going into the final round of an event. Remember when she won the US Women’s Open, she was tied for ninth, five back, the biggest comeback in US Women’s Open history. But playing in front and she has been impressive. Okay. She has she’s to showed a lot of control both emotionally and physically. She gave a little fist bump to Jean Cluer Caddy when she hit the screen in regulation. She bogeied this hole the first two days. Finally party yesterday. So maybe a little bit of a you know just showing that she’s managing this hole well now. Oh goodness. Another putt that got away from her. Oh, and this next one K is not going to be easy. It’s got a big right to left break in it. Downwind. That’s not uh that’s not what you want to be doing at this stage. That now that one makes me nervous. Yeah, just off the green at 15. Young co birdie. [Music] She have enough to get there. It’s a good looking I know. Good looking pup. Had a good chance to win last week in Japan. weather shortened event but uh struggled in the final round. Now Gusa for par. Well, she would have learned a lot about the putt based on what Kim just did. Knows this has a fair bit of left to right break and is going to be on the speedy side. This would be quite a working par. Oh, that was massive, Karen. Well, it is. Particularly now Aen’s got a a really awkward putt. Now, my word, things are just getting really interesting. I mean, again, just inches away from having to take an unplayable lie most likely. Carrying that four iron in the bag, punching it out, saving par. All right, Hata Okaoka second at 17. Yeah, 137 yards. Just a little bare patch there, but the lies just fine in the fairway. Playing a low one into this flag, which is going to be just fine. Give her a birdie chance. And this is the time where you want that putter to get hot like it did on the previous green. She might be tied for the lead here in just a moment. This is the par putt for Kim to stay in front by one. Yeah, I’m really shocked that she’s left herself this much of a putt. I mean, kind of it takes me back to the eighth hole where she three putt there. And this, like you say, Karen, back uphill into the grain. It’ll snap as it loses speed. She’s really got to hit this solidly and in the center of the putter and not be wishy-washy with it at all. Yeah. Oh my goodness. What a statement right there. The queen stays on top by one. [Music] Got a putt for Nasahhata Oaka to tie the lead. Yeah, she’s got to have a lot of confidence in this club right now. It’s going to swing from her right to left. It’s got some speed in it, but it looks good. O, and it’s going to run a little ways by. She’s going to have uh one of those knee knockers coming back. Wow. Am Kim hanging on by a thread here as she tees it up at 15. Short par three, just 132 yards. Although that’s the longest it’s played all week. Can’t see the bottom of the flag stick from the tea. As a player, you just kind of have to wait till you get up there to see how close or far away you are because the whole green kind of pitches front to back. All right. No smile at the moment. got the game face on. We’ll see it again here very soon, I’m sure. Here’s now Goose at 15. See if she can uh hit one of those laser-like wedges that we’ve seen quite a few times throughout the week. Yeah, that looked pretty good from the tea. Yep. Popular spot beyond the flag. A tough putt to read, but uh a chance. Kim will putt first. Back at 17. Hot to Oka. Should have a sense of what it does cuz she saw it go past the hole. But she needs to make this one. Oh wow. [Music] And her first three putt of the week. drops her tonight. She wasn’t scared with the first one. She was trying to make it. Just allow too much break. Well, there’s some tough holes coming in as we’ve seen. Yeah, but u NASA is going to need to at least birdie 18 to have any kind of a chance you would think. Birdie putts coming up for our final pair. Chem and Gusa at 15 in a moment. [Music] A birdie putt for Alen. Chem at 15. Hard to read anything into this putt. Downhill. Just a subtle break perhaps. Okay. So Gustiva will have a putt to tie the lead in a moment after the bogey at 17 now. Two shots back. Hatoka. Yeah, down the breeze par five. She needs a good drive here. She needs to give herself a chance potentially making an eagle. Maybe even a birdie. Looking a little concerned on this one. Oh, that’s fine. That’s just fine. I I think I think she has to be thinking eagle. I really do. Yum. Goose of a thinking birdie and a chance to tie the lead at 15. She has shown us that she can handle left to right breaking putts. This looks like it’ll just want to wander to the right. That’s the read. Did she hit it? Oh, that’s a couple putts. She’s left just shy. the ones that happen when you leave them a little shy like that. When you’re a little short, because you’re trying so hard to get the line right, you’re trying so hard to make it as opposed to being more free and just sending it down there. She’s definitely grinding a little bit right now at the 16th. Ooul for birdie. [Music] Said this about Hoju Kim. Same for Ryan Oul. Same for Alim Kim. Trying to get into that top 60. There’s one more event next week, the Ottica down in Belair, Florida, the G Coast. But this, if it ends as it is now, would put Oul inside the top 60 with a little bit of room to spare [Music] with now at this point her chances of winning effectively having gone by the boards. Jin Yunko has this for birdie [Music] at that 16th. [Music] was safe enough. Uh did take a few little little bobbles along the way. She’s not going to play next week, but she will play the CME Group Tour Championship. Lindy Duncan is a player who came in this week. You see 105 in the CME points list and a birdie birdie finish. What a week. And she is going to move into the top 100. Take a look. And remember, 100 is the number to keep your card and she knows it. She is irrepressible. out here for close to a decade and hasn’t won, but loves the game, loves the grind of it. Does she did she ever grind it out here this week? Way to go, Lindy. And now still up by one of the T at 16 in Mimi this hole yesterday. Let’s see if she can clear her mind and just pick out the appropriate target. The wind is really died down. It It hardly even feels like there’s a half club right now. Good strong drive down the left fairway. There is an overhanging tree on that left side of the fairway that we’ve seen a few players pull it into. But this this just feels um right now like a lot easier to hit your targets cuz when that wind dies down, you can swing more freely and the wind’s not going to affect your ball. Last T-shot went well left. See how Guzva handles the 16th here. last driver, I should say. Well, that that was ideal. Couldn’t have struck it any better. That that’s a quick study in how to how to fix something. Just an aggressive swing like there was no fear. There was no hold back. Just go ahead and send it here in paradise. Little nervy here coming down the stretch with the trophy still hanging in the balance. Nasa Hata Okoka playing the par 518. There’s that Hatoka hop. She needs at least Birdie probably eagle Tom. Yeah, she’s got 260 yards. It’s straight down the breeze and I think it’s been as strong as it’s been all day there where she was standing over waiting for the pair in front. I think Karen, it’s about the miss here cuz I don’t think she can fly it all the way to the green. But this is a really important shot. This is on an aggressive line down the right high. Oh, short. Wait, did that run towards the penalty area? Very close. I think in. Wow. Yeah. You think it’s in? It looked very close. Yeah. I mean, it looked from here. It’s tough to tell, but it was pitching around that side, and that’s the danger, I guess, if you’re trying to go for it. We’re looking at it again. Did that splash? That look like a Oh dear. We think it splashed. Long birdie at 16. But she gave it a go though. This is You know why she did? You know, she gave the putt a go at 17. Absolutely. Can’t fault her for that. Giving it a go. Love it. All right, the 16. Two really nice drives. Goose to go first. Yeah, it’s going to be a wedge contest between these two players. Little 126 y. [Music] Just trying to get a beat on the wind. I mean, still I mean just still Yeah, cuz you you find it right. That’s perfect. Yeah, you can be aggressive with this. Yeah, I like that last word cuz up where the hole’s located, it’s like on a top right back shelf and it’s pretty flat around the hole location, but she needs to hit this at least 120 to get it up over the a small ridge. Oh, gorgeous. This definitely becomes a birdie hole when you hit a couple of drives like these two have. Those two swings, Karen off the tea and that one. I mean, that’s stepping up when you had to, you know, and I think it when you look back at the putt that she made to save P in previous hole, I mean, that was massive cuz now it’s almost like spurred her on. Okay, I can do this. Your turn, Alim. Yeah, I’ll see if she can can it match that shot. It’s sometimes the hardest thing to do in golf. Pretty good line. Yeah, I think they both want the trophy. Yeah. Kim leading by one. She’ll go first. 16 in a moment. All right, our final pair with birdie putts at the 16th. Alen Kim up by one will go first here. K, she will. And as I mentioned before, this is a really flat part of the green. If you can get it back here, these are two really easy birdie putts. It’s just a matter of stepping up and and putting the right stroke on it. Aim talks about process and just really focusing on doing all that she can do to prepare herself to hit the shot the way she wants to and then let it go and accept whatever happens. And that’s a mentality that is very hard to uh to utilize week in and week out. But it is a good way to play the game. And this is I mean to me Karen this looks dead straight. Sometimes they’re they’re the hardest ones. K. The dead straight ones because you’re always trying to find a little something in there. Well, she stayed very steady over that putt, but perhaps a tiny bit of del or just not giving it that little bit of extra. And another chance for Gusa as she had on the 15th to tie the lead. Let’s check back in with Nasa. She did not go in the water with her second. So here’s her third. Yeah, found the ball. Was debating whether to go back and take a drop, but I think in her mind she needs to hold this. And it just was such a difficult shot there. That was a horrible lie. But obviously Karen, she knows where she stands. the way that she’s playing this 18th and she thought she had to knock it in. Well, and I I think it’s I think I mean, like I said, I can’t fault her one bit for giving it a go because she’s trying to win. Yeah, she’s a winner. She doesn’t want to come second. She’s not playing for second place, third place, fourth place. She wants that trophy. And so does Natalia Gusupa, the 21-year-old from Moscow in her first season on the LPGA Tour. Played the Epson Tour last year. finished high enough to get into the Q series where she earned her LPGA card and here she is with a chance to tie the lead with two to go. She talked about trying to play shots like it’s a practice round. See if she can keep that mentality here. Oh, leaked it right. She just might have pushed it a tad and it just stayed out there. Wow, those are two big birdie misses for both players. So among the interested spectators, Elm Kim, she was ready to clap. Love it. Let’s just play our best and and see where the scores fall, right? Competitive. Yeah. The fourth shot for NASA. Yeah. Just hanging on the down side of the bunker there. It was not easy. It’s a shame she’s played so well on this back n as you’ve been uh showing and um just little too far right with that second shot. She’d been on the left side of the green may have been able to sneak it on. So she’ll had that bar to finish at 15 under. The final pair heads to 17 on the tea at 17 up by one. M Kim. Yeah. 235 to carry the bunkers on the left. It’s automatic with that club, isn’t it? For for Alim K. That’s 10 fairways out of 13 today so far. NASA for par at 18. [Music] She was within one after rolling in the long one at 16, three putt at 17, and then in the penalty area and a bogey at 18, but that was coming up short after uh giving it every effort. Gustiva at 17. She is Oh, bogey this whole every day. This left again like at 14. Well, that’s the anti-right swing, isn’t it? Yeah. Is this the T-shot of Austin Kim at 18? Tom has uh dropped back to catch up with the rookie. Yeah. 217 to the flag for Austin Kim. Now, she’s a very powerful player. She’s run out of fairway, so she’s in the rough, but uh she’s got the she’s got the firepower to get this to the green and fly it over the bunkers. So, that’s a huge advantage for her here. Karen, if she goes at that flag from this angle, the the key is whether she can stop the ball. I I think you got to try and hit a high fade, Tom. Um particularly coming out of the rough, you you got to try and get this ball to to go in high with that little fade so that that wind might knock it down a bit. It’s come out right. It’s going to end up in that bunker. I think yeah, should she hold it? She could post 16. Andre Limbs hit a good T- shot at 17. So unlikely for Austin Kim, but again another good week for her and who knows, maybe some magic up by the green. This is the 17th. It’s been a great duel for the last 48 hours or so between Kim and Gusa. They didn’t play together yesterday. Gusa was in the final pair. Kim was uh in the one just ahead. They’ve played together today. It’s been back and forth. They’ve been tied a couple of times, but um Ellen Kim leading by one at the moment. And Gusa has gone left here at 17, but she’s okay. It looks like K. She’s fortunate to have missed the bunker, but she’s in the rough and doesn’t have a good lie. This this rough is is rather thick. It’s not particularly long. It’s edge of the green is 123. sitting down to take the bunker out of play. It’s 132 hole or 132 and then the hole is 140. Steve need to understand where is the best position for us to be in right now. Yeah. So, it’s one of those things where honestly I think short is worse than deep Oh, really? Yeah. Cuz if you if you are like at the right half of the scoreboard, you’re pitching uphill to it. Yeah. And you’ve got 15. I mean, but the thing is like with that quarter, we’re looking more left. You know, you’re natural naturally to the right side. Agree. So you’re looking more like towards the tower, correct? Oh, yeah. At least maybe even more left. Honestly, I was thinking like having something just chipping left of the pin just, you know, somewhere down or either way just being on the green. See, that’s the thing. Like you could definitely go short left of the front left corner of the green, right? And say, “Okay, I’m fine shipping it cuz at least you’re going up to it.” Yes. Or you can play something that’s going to maybe get Okay. Yeah. full high. So 130. So we’re playing about 35, right? Exactly. So 35 down. I mean, I think you still It’s almost like a flight at seven to make sure it actually gets out, right? Yeah. Perfect. Yeah, cuz you got wind hurting. Yeah. Right. Coming in from 10:00. Yeah, it’s it’s very like grabby. So, I’m just going to go to the left more side. Yeah, with that wind take it right. Reminder that they work in meters. So, they’re talking about a 130 140 meter shot. She actually has 151 yards. This is not a very good lie at all. She’s going to take a seven and see if she can hit the straight. Yeah, that’s a that’s a nice play right there. If it curves to the right, there’s a false edge to the left and yeah, the ball’s going to catch that part of the green, but that was that was what she wanted to do. It just that drive put her in a tough position. Meanwhile, Kim in great position. She’s in ideal shape. I mean, she couldn’t have hit a better drive. 132 yards. Wind hurting. This should just be a nice easy eight iron. Oh, it has a good line if it’s enough to carry the bunker. Yep, that’s exactly what she wanted to do. Play to the fat part of the green. I can make it. Yeah, she said she can make it. We’ll see if she does. [Music] Trailing by one. Third shot here from Natalyia Gusa at 17. She’s in the closely moaned area. Uphill lie. Needs to carry it to the top of the green. Kind of flattens out. Had a pretty good run. This is a big moment here. And then Kim’s going to have a birdie putt. Goosebas is going to have one for par up at the 18th. Austin Kim bunker shot at this point. This for birdie. Yeah, I think she would have fancied the bunker shot. You may be disappointed that she’s left herself this one for birdie. This still a good up and down, but she was trying to hold that bunker shot down. She even went up and did aim uh aim point on the green for the bunker shot. She was uh you could just tell that was what was in her mind. It’s going to be your career, best career, just a career that’s just begun. Rookie, a fifth and a sixth this year. And now that check’s going to hit her bank account. Nice, though. You love that, don’t you? You’ll be refreshing it to see. Yep. And that broke the tie with Nasa. So, solo third place. And who knows what happens with Gusa could be even better. All right, up by one. I mean, this could be a threeshot lead in uh just a few minutes time. This is a really enticing putt. It’s just has a little gentle movement from right to left. Overall, pretty flat. It’s the kind of putt that you you just imagine dripping in the front right part of the green of the hole. I mean, She leave it short again. She loved it. She loved it most the way. I love her enthusiasm. The way she’s approaching each shot in each hole. It’s so positive, Karen. Well, she she obviously is in a great place with her with her game. She’s feeling very confident and you know when you see in somebody really loving it, they can’t wait to get to the next shot. They can’t wait to to play more golf to to feel the quality of strike, the quality of putt. I’ve heard you say that before when you were playing your very best. You couldn’t wait. Nope. Well, Karen, it’s interesting where this came from because it it’s not as if she’s had a stellar year. three top 10. She’s played well at the Chevron Championship couple of times there. I do think with Alim though that that it’s just in there just bubbling under the surface waiting for for great golf to come out. And it’s been great this week. And now Gustava huge save at 14. She’s trying to do it again here at 17 to stay one back. Heading to the par 51 18th and exercise the demons that have a hold of her on this hole. Three straight bogeies. Oh, she finally gets a part right when she needed it. Exercised. Just curls it in and she stays one back heading to the 18th. [Music] This has been a great battle all weekend. Here’s Ellen Kim up one at 18. She has birdied this whole every day heading towards the bunkers at the corner. Uh-uh. Perfect. Oh, I got a nice little fade at the last minute. Back onto the fairway and it’s looking good now. Guys, hold still. Thank you. She is loving every step out here. But uh I am so impressed with Tatalia Gusa. I mean she is playing like a seasoned veteran, not the 21-year-old rookie that she is. It’s very gutsy K what she’s doing. Making those putts when she has to. Yeah, she took this one high down the right hand side with a little draw. Gorgeous. She’s parred this all three days. This the second easiest hole on the course. She’ll need a birdie or better here if she’s going to catch a limb. While we have a moment down to Tom. Yeah. Here with Austin Kim who looks like she’s going to record her career best finish on the LPGA tour. You had a chance to win out there today. I know you’re happy with the the result the way it looks at the moment, but was there a time in that final round where you were really looking at the leaderboards and thinking you had a chance to win? Uh, no. I I wasn’t looking at the leaderboards. Uh, I knew that I got off to a hot start after nine and I had a lot of chances, but uh butter got a little cold on the back, but I knew that if I kept making pars and giving myself chances that I could be in it toward the end. Projecting to go to 64th right now in the race to the CME Globe. Top 60 go to that CME Group Tour Championship. How much is that on your mind as we head to Pelican next week? Honestly, it’s on my mind. That’s always the That’s the goal at the end of the year, but um I love Pelican. I That was my first ever LPGA event and uh a lot of good vibes there. I love the course. So, I’m really excited. How important was this week for you as you develop as a player on the LPGA? I think the result speaks for itself, but apart from the result, um being able to play golf with a lot of belief in myself and finding that belief again and being really confident. Um it’s been a long year, a lot of lot of good lessons this year, a lot of tough moments, but I’m really proud of myself for bouncing back after the tough weeks and being able to play some really solid golf. You should be very proud of the way you played this week. Well done and we’ll see you next week. Thank you. Sounds good. Yeah, she Monday qualified last year at Pelican having already clenched her card at the Tour Championship. The wind really beginning to whip now at the 18th as Jin Young Co has this for Eagle. That just goes to show you what can happen. I mean, Jingan not the longest of players in the world, but even she was able to get onto that green in two. And so this kind of tells you without telling you how good of a player Jin Yang is. She’s going to finish sixth. She’s, you know, top 15 in the race to the Steaming Globe. Hasn’t won. So this is a down year for her and she’s at the very top top 15 on tour. Right here is Ryan Tul for Birdie and that breaks the tie with Jin Young. Moves her into a tie for fifth. And that moves her like Kyoju Kim moves her up from outside the top 60 in for the moment. And next week he’ll go and try to get it done at Pelican. So just one pair left. Talia Gusa in her rookie season. LM Kim won the US Women’s Open as a non-member, 99 starts since then. This her 100th. That was great. And trying to uh win in this roundnumbered start. Two good T- shots here. K. Really good. But as good as Gus Buzz was, Alen Kim got a great bounce and she will be 25 yards ahead. of Gusa. Where is the best position to be? Now, it’s either way that front bumper on the right. Yes. So, so what what I’ll tell you is where you were yesterday is a really good look at it up and down. Alternatively, anything on this left side bunker. So, like online with that palm tree just left for the grand stand or even if you’re a touch left of that. How far do you carry this? So, this thing here is 192. You think it’s four? I think it’s four iron 100%. And if you’re a little left, you’re a little left. Yeah. Awesome. It’s straight down right now. Not too different from the front yardage she had yesterday. She had a 204 yards, hit four iron, um, and ended up in the front right bunker. Today she has 208 to the front, 230 to the hole. So trying to land this this forearm somewhere in the front middle part of the green. Would you be thinking three or four here if you’re Gusa? I think you just got to think think birdie. Um but I I do think you want to give yourself an opportunity to potentially make that eagle. Um there’s no way of knowing what Alam’s going to do. Um, and again it comes down to not forcing it for you in this in in her position here. Oh, that sounded kind of clunky. Came out low. Hard to tell if that rolled out the into the front bunker. First cut short of it. Short. It’s going to leave an awkward pitch over those bunkers. Well, aim Kim guys, she hit that drive. Windated 335 yards. Love it. 182 to the front, 204 to the hole. Probably looking at landing this 190 playing no more than 170. That was an aggressive swing. Had the cup. Launching that iron up high. Yeah, that is the shot of a champion right there. She was the chaser at champions in 20 at the US Women’s Open. Tied for ninth, five shots back, buried the last three. Now she’s been in front and she’s played like she’s been there her whole career. First time in this position. Oh, she’s just been in control though. Like you you think about her game. She made adjustments with the wedges. Made putts when she’s had to and just played like she knows what she’s doing in that spot. But so is Natalyia Gusa. I mean, she’s played some seriously good golf to hang with Ailen Kim. And there’s no guarantee Am gets that down in two. And uh Gusa still a chance. Started playing the game at age seven. went with an aunt and an uncle to a golf course in Czecha and I kind of fell in love with it. Russia is not, as you know, a hot bed of golf. Just 30 some odd courses there. But one opened near her home when she kind of caught that bug. Got onto the Russian national team at age 11, began playing in Europe, came to the US at the age of 16, went to University of Miami at 17. Her coach at Miami, former LPGA winner Patty Rizzo said, “I’ve never seen a player with this much raw talent.” She said, “I think,” Patty Rizzo said, “I think she’ll be number one in the world by the time she’s 23 years old.” She said that last year. She’s just 21 in her first season. High praise from a player who knows what it takes to win out here. Patty. Yeah, I played with Patty back on back on the LPGA and Patty actually played a lot of time over in Japan. Yes, she was fluent in Japanese. Uh really just a very interesting person and a very talented golfer. And it’s so nice to see Karen a lot of our fellow competitors who have moved into the teaching business, the LPGA teaching and club pro business andor college coaching. something very rewarding about coaching uh K that that I think uh appeals to a lot of players that are out here, you know, after years of just thinking about yourself and your own game to actually give back to others is is very good. Well, here we go. Third shot at the par five. Trailing by one and Kim is up there pretty tries to work a little right. Yeah. 3750. Correct. Breaking it down somewhere that like low 40s, huh? 40s. Yeah. Like 42. Yeah. Exactly. So grass. Yeah. And it’s it’s teed up a little bit, isn’t it? Yeah. Exactly. Okay. Down off your right. Touch a knockdown to it. Comfortable relationship. 50 yard shot. Trying to land this, you know, like 30 35 as she said, somewhat short and let it release back. She way too hard. It’s kind of like that extra shot of espresso just kicked in. just the intimidation factor of playing up over the bunkers. I mean, it was an awkward angle for her and uh you know, crazy thoughts creep into your head just at the last minute as you’re standing over it and uh just gave it just a little bit of extra hit through the impact zone there and that’s what you that’s what you got. Just didn’t trust at the last minute. Well, that makes the task a touch easier for Elm Kemp, who’s up there by the green in two, leading it by one. Gusa would have to make from off the green here and then it would still give Kim a chance to win by getting down in two. Yeah, I don’t think there’s anything that uh Natalya could really um look back on and and want to do over maybe that chip shot, but she’s just been so solid from start to finish and and really a promising player. Yeah, this is a little downhill lie out of the rough back into the wind. Plenty of green to work with. trying to chip in for Birdie. [Music] Oh, what a try. It was a good one. She can definitely hold her head up high, K. I think she’s uh Yeah, she’s had a a good effort this week and uh we’ll be seeing a lot more of her near the top of our leaderboards. You’re going to see her in a couple weeks. You won’t be seeing her. Yeah, you won’t be seeing her next week because she is taking the week off. A deserved week off after a lot of golf weeks in a row. She’s going to go support her boyfriend Igor Erishinko who Monday qualified for the PGA Tour event next week and and enjoy Bermuda. And then we’ll see at the CME Group Tour Championship. So, this is going to be her not just her fifth top 10 as a rookie, second time late in a final round where she’s been right there. Mhm. And now for Elm Kim. She’s got three shots from here to win again. Oh, it bobbled a little bit to start, Karen, and then that wind just stopped it dead. The wind was really gusting as she was over the ball. We’re about to find out what kind of hoola dancer LM Ken is. I can’t wait cuz with her personality, there’s no telling what we’re going to see. She’s got a couple of putts from there at least. Gustiva with this for par. Let’s go back to that base camp idea that you were talking about Karen for for Natalia Gustiva. It’s uh I mean she’s getting used to to what it feels like to be right at the top of the of the leaderboards. And uh not everybody gets used to that altitude and overcomes it first time, but they certainly the more you’re there, the more comfortable you get with that situation. And I think this is what we’re seeing from Natalia. and it cannot be long before she’s there. I mean, she’s handled herself well. You think about all those clutch puts that she’s made, it’s just been um when she’s needed to that. I mean, that’s normally the part of the game that that goes missing when you’re under pressure, when you’re trying to make something happen, but but she hung tough with that and uh she’s got the long game. Putting’s been good and uh tides up just a few things around the green and uh she’s going to be be there more than she’s not. She didn’t lose it. Alim won it. Absolutely right. Absolutely. So, here is the birdie attempt for Kim in her 100th start since winning the US Women’s Open from out of nowhere. now fully known. Fourth year of the LPGA tour and she’s a champion again. Am Kim wins the Lay Championship. Take a bow. Am [Applause] Yeah, Pauline. Have you seen Bushard? I’m guessing that’s good bubbly. If it’s Pauline, Grace Kim, the defending champ out there. Yeah. [Music] Thank you so much. France, Australia, and Russia. So, you see what kind of player Alim Kim is and how respected and loved she is. No question. Well done, Sean Clues as well. Take one of the models. It was a great battle. Really both of these players pushing each other. The greatness and Illan Kim gets it done by two. She’s a winner for the second time. Congratulations. Thank you so much. Today’s coverage is brought to you by Latte. Change today, create tomorrow. Lo and by Volunteers of America, dedicated to building healthy communities through health, housing, and human services. Give ata.org. Everybody wanting a picture of LM Kim Queen, her nickname. She’s got it on her shoes on her Instagram handle. Yeah. Peace out. Let’s take a look at our top recovery shot visited by Io Vera. So Karen, she birdie 10 and 11. That was great. But she missed a green at 12 and then did this. She did from an awkward spot and just really making it happen when you had to. She played great and maybe caught a bit of a break there with a shot that was headed past the hole had it not hit the stick, but she did hit it and she has our top recovery shot presented by IO Vera. fun to watch this week here at the Lote Championship with a player like LM Kim. You said it that having won the US Women’s Open. You thought um because she knows she’s gotten it done before would help her. She played like a player who’d been there before. Yeah, you don’t lose that. You know, once you’ve once you’ve won, once you know that you’ve overcome, you know exactly what it takes to to do it again. It’s not something that you’re unfamiliar with. Well, and what this does among the perks is it puts her into the CME Group Tour Championship. She goes from 65th, top 60 only make it now to 22 seconds. She’ll be there at Tibberon for the season ender playing for a $4 million first prize. And here’s that bubble now. Kju Kim moves in. Ryan Oul moves in from outside the top 60 in and Steph Keryaku the Aussie is the bubble girl heading into the final event next year. Quite a surprise to see Miy Lee so far down on on that list. Happy birthday Gabby Lopez. Not the gift she was hoping for. She drops outside as she goes to Pelican next week. Hashesh Buhai is threatening to get into the Tour Championship despite a couple of different injuries this year. Austin Kim with a big move today, finishing third. It was a great week. Another great week for the rookie Natalyia Gusa. She’s with Tom. Yes, indeed. She had some really good weeks this year in your rookie season. Natalyia, what do you take from today? Uh, you know, I take only the best feelings I could get. Um, obviously, you know, congrats to Ailen for a great game. You know, I really did my best out there. I never gave up. I I every call like I gave just my 100% and more than that. So, um, you know, just keep fighting. I I know I still get the win out there. We still have uh two more events. I’m skipping Pelican, but hopefully, you know, CME I can also good show a good result. But I enjoyed it out there. I enjoying playing golf. enjoying, you know, uh the crowds and just uh you know, basically making for them some shows. So, yeah. How much are you looking forward to next week now? Um I mean, I honestly looking forward to just to just relax next week. Uh it’s been a long stretch, five weeks in a row. So, I really, you know, need that type of relaxation time and especially cheering for my boyfriend and APJ tour event. So, um yeah, super excited. We look forward to seeing you at the CME Group Tour Championship. Well played this week. Thank you so much. Appreciate it. So from 51st, she was going to make it no matter what, but now 25th in the race to the CE Globe as a rookie. You can tell she loves to compete. That’s that’s what I take from that interview, how much she loves being in the heat. She said, uh, what we do for a living, it’s not work. It’s hard, but it’s not work. And we want to put on a show. Well, she put on a show, and so did Alim Kim. Congrats. [Music] Well, she had the lead after round one. She shared it after round two, led after round three by one. And now, Alim Kim with a final round 68, wins it by two, her second LPGA title, and first since that breakthrough victory at the US Women’s Open. And she is with K. roll. She sure is. And we were just chatting here a moment ago. It has been three and a half almost four years since you won the US Women’s Open. 99 tournaments since you have been trying to get win number two. Why did it all come together for you so nicely this week? Oh, I think Hawaii is more good for me, more comfortable. And then when I was when I was came USA everything is new and then grass and read is very hard for me but getting better from now more easier. Yeah. So that reason more comfortable. Um Nasahhatoko was making a move ahead of you. Natalia Gusa and you were back and forth. Describe the pressure out there to have to hit the necessary shots to win today. Uh I focus on only my game and then uh only my I focus on my John and then choice my my line and then hit it. That’s it. What does this win mean to you and the rest of the year? Uh I felt getting uh everything is getting better on my shot game and the read green and then more familiar. So, I think getting uh next year I think getting better than this year. So, hopefully I love it. I love your attitude. I love the way you hit the golf ball. Congratulations on win number two here in Hawaii at the Lote. Enjoy. We didn’t really know her very well when she came to champions in Houston and won the US Women’s Open coming from behind. We know her now and and she’s really a favorite among the players out there and and and for us as well. Well, no question. I mean, we we enjoy watching her play. We enjoy the emotion that she shows out there and how much she obviously enjoys competing and playing at the highest level. And look at this. Just this is a player who plays almost every week and it’s almost noon in Korea on Sunday. in this Lote Championship sponsored by the Korean conglomerate. It’s a very popular victory for a lot of reasons. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] All right. Well, she won the belt. Now she’s going to take it off. Get ready for the hoola or maybe rebuckle. This may be the most nervous she’s been all day. Oh, I know. I would be. I mean, you practice all, you know, all your life for your golf, but you certainly don’t think about having to do a hoola. [Applause] I mean, when you call yourself aim queen, I mean, that just tells you all you need to know about Alim Kim. Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Han Ken. I will be your bilingual MC for the awards ceremony. Let’s welcome the champion who will continue the tradition started by the 2012 champion Iato with a Hawaiian hoola dance. Let’s welcome the champion with a big round of applause. [Applause] [Music] Really? Good day. It’s going to be really easy. Congratulations. Thank you. The belly gon bear out there, which is a popular item at the low stores in Korea. [Music] And left. [Music] Yeah, she’s going to just going to freestyle it, I think. Been a great week. Thanks to everyone who made it happen. Our producer, Abby Johnson, director, Petto, and the entire team of women and men bringing you the coverage all week long. [Applause] And a reminder that coming up next, it’s Golf Central brought to you by Callaway Golf. We’ll see you next week at the Anukica driven by Gain Bridget at Pelican near Tampa. First round coverage 10 a.m. on Golf Channel. Karen Stuffles, Tom Abbott, K and all of us. I’m Grant Boon. The queen is back on top. Halen Kim wins again. A big round of applause. [Applause]
