#titleist #AMTshaft

Hey, if you’re thinking about buying a new Titalist T-Series irons, shaft choices are one of the things that you have to consider. And I’m here to let you know that Titalist T irons have a something that is unique to themselves that all the other manufacturers do not use, and that is their ascending mess technology. So, what they offer is a little bit different. Usually the stock shafts on most of the irons stay constant throughout their irons. Whether it’s a long iron that is four four iron or pitching wedge, if it says 105, it’s generally going to stay around 105. If it says 120, it’s generally going to stay in 120. So it’s a constant weight. But what titleists um are doing for the last I don’t know eight ten years is they’ve opted to go with a different weighted shafts for their each of their irons. Hence the ascending mass technology. So I think knowing which shaft to go with which irons are going to help you. Now, titleists have already go went ahead and selected a shaft they think is going to work best for that type of player who is using a specific head. So, if you are using a T100 irons or if you’re thinking of purchasing a T100, they’re going to assume that you have a pretty fast swing speed. So they went with the AMT white shaft which is the heaviest out of the four shafts that they offer which is AMT red, AMT black, AMT silver and AMT white. If you are using T150 or thinking of purchasing T150, they’ve selected the AMT silver which is still pretty fast swing speed but it’s not as fast as the AMT white or heavy as the AMT white. If you are thinking of purchasing T200 or T250, they’re gonna they have opted to go with the AMT black, which is uh kind of the middle of the road type of shaft. And if you’re thinking of purchasing T350, they’ve opted to go with the AMT red, which is the lightest out of the four. So now again, they’ve kind of pre-selected what they think they assume is going to match the shaft is going to match the head. However, that’s not always the case. So what we’ve seen from our fitting where or fitting shop here in La Hab, California, what we’ve seen is that someone who’s using T250 can use actually AMT silver or even AMT white or even AMT red or someone who’s using a T150 can benefit from going a little lighter on the weight. So let me give you a general idea because if you go to the Titalist website, they give you a general weight. Um, however, it’s not specified. So general rule is each iron shaft is going to get three grams heavier from where you start. However, I like to think of from the back end starting from the pitching wedge and saying that it’s get getting three grams lighter. And let me tell you why. It’s because generally um it doesn’t match three grams perfectly all the time. However, I just see that if you start from the pitching wedge, it generally feels better. So, AMT white S300. Let me show you right here. It’s going to look like this right here. AMT white shaft, right? So, AMT white shaft. As you can see in the S300 or the stiff flex, it’s going to start at pitching wedge 130, 9 iron 127, 8 iron 124, 7 iron 121, 6 iron 118, 5 iron 115, 4 iron 112, 39, 26. So that’s generally three three grams apart and it’s around that area. If you like to think in the seven iron term, this is going to sit right around 120 at 121, right? AMT silver stiff flex. It’s going to start from pitching wedge that is 119. Let me show you real quick what that looks like. Again, this is a new shaft that they came out with, right? They’ve used to use project XLZ shaft on the T-150, but in in their new T series T150 are going with the AMT silver. In AMT silver, it looks very much like the white. It’s actually starting at 119. So, it’s 11 g lighter than the AMT white. So, it’s a significant difference. The pitching wedge is 119, 9M 116, 8 IM 113, 7 IM 110. So pick from AMT white to AMT silver. It’s 10 grams difference. 6 iron 107, 5 iron 103, and I think 4 iron is the same weight as the 5iron that fits the natural progression of the irons. The AMT black again, this is the stock shaft that goes in T250, but it doesn’t have to, right? The AMT black stiff flex is going to go from pitching wedge 116, 913, 8 IM 110, 77. So, between black and the silver, the 7 iron, there isn’t that much difference. But where you’re going to see a lot of difference is the in the longer iron, 6 iron, 103, um, and five iron 100 and 4 iron, I’m going to guess it’s going to be around 95 to 97 gram. So, again, it’s naturally getting lighter or if you think from the long iron perspective, it’s going to go naturally go higher. AMT red S300 or stiff flex. This is the lightest of all. It has the red tag just like this one right here. And starts from gap wedge 107. I’m going to start with gap wedge there. Pitching wedge 104, 9 101, 8 iron 98, 7 iron 95. And from the seven iron on, it’s going to stay the same weight. 6 I 95, 595, 495. So this is a uh this is a the best estimate of which shaft is each shaft weight. If you know otherwise, go ahead and comment below. So we all can benefit but this is a general guideline when it comes to the AMT shafts. AMT shafts are made from true temper that um Titalist again has opted to use for the last four generations of their T- series irons and there should be a reason why Titalist probably one of the best manufacturers of the golf clubs have opted to go with this. They think that longer irons, the lighter weight will give you a faster swing speed to to use uh or or get a faster swing speed to actually um do what that long iron is is um designed to do, intended to do, right? Same thing with the pitching wedge. If you get progressively heavier, it’s going to help you to flight that ball and actually because it’s shorter, you don’t have to generate as much uh speed to control the shaft. So, they have opted to go with that. So, a set AMT stands for ascending mass technology made by True Temper. If you’re thinking of buying a T series irons, you don’t have to go with the stock shafts. You can go with whatever we’ve laid out for you. You if you come to our shop u to here in La Hab, California, we’ll leave all the details below. Um you can get fitted for each of these shafts and select head separate from the shafts and it’s going to be the best result. If you live elsewhere, you can go to yesgolfshaft.com. We have actually put each of these irons with all the available shaft and even some other non-upcharge shafts. So, if you’re using an aftermarket shaft, let’s say you you want to use the modus shaft. There’s no upcharge in that. It’s a constant weighted shaft, but you know that works for you, you can select that and it’s an easy way to use the shaft that you think is best for that head. 1. I have the T200 fitted into nippon AMC 880. Same principle as the AMT. My fitter didn't have the AMT reds. I tried them out afterwards and actually hit them a bit better than the 880's. I don't know why more iron companies don't offer it.
