Titleist T250 vs Ping i240 | Head-to-Head Iron Review (TrackMan Tested)
In this AF Golf Gear review, I put the brand-new Titleist T250 up against the quietly brilliant Ping i240 to see which iron truly deserves a spot in your bag. Both irons were tested on TrackMan with Titleist RCT balls, so you’ll get the real numbers behind the looks, feel, and sound.
What’s inside this review:
⛳ First impressions — looks, feel & sound
📊 TrackMan data — carry, speed, spin & landing angle
🔥 Why the Titleist T250 came out on top
🤫 Why the Ping i240 might still be the smarter choice for some golfers
⚙️ Fitting tips — loft tweaks, shafts & combo set ideas
Quick summary:
Titleist T250: Compact, crisp, and powerful. Delivered 5–6 yards more carry in testing while still landing soft. A true distance iron that doesn’t compromise on feel.
Ping i240: Understated, softer feel, slightly higher spin. A reliable “silent assassin” that’s perfect for golfers who prefer forgiveness and a muted strike.
👉 My verdict: Both irons are excellent, but the T250 edged ahead with more distance and ball speed while maintaining playability.

Hi guys, welcome back to the channel. In today’s episode, we have got an absolute worldy for you. We’ve got the Titalist 250, an iron that has been an absolute animal this year against one that goes under the radar. Keep watching and you might find your next iron. So guys, we’ve got two really good irons for you to watch today and for me to hit and test and uh put up against each other. We’ve got the Titist 250 iron, which is a beautiful looking iron. It’s the evolution of the T- series range from Titalist. We’ve talked about this iron a lot before how when they were T100, 200, and 300 with the 100s, it was it was getting a little bit stale. Two years ago, they they got rid of the S and they bought out the 150, which was an absolute animal of an iron in that sort of better players iron, if you like, in that category. And this year they’ve scrapped 200 and they’ve gone 250. And they bought out an iron that absolutely is a beast. It looks phenomenal. It performs brilliantly. Always. Always does. Every time I’ve tested it, when we fitted it, when we’ve seen it in the bays, it is an absolute animal. It’s not a cheap iron, but it is brilliant. And they’ve done a really good job in this Evolution Tireless. They go slowly tireless, but when they do it, they do it really, really well. And today we’re going to put it up against an iron that for me is really frustrating. You know, I’ve said this in previous videos and it is a frustrating family of irons and that’s the ieries irons from Ping. I talked about how I used to love the i3s back in the day, the i3 plus. And the ieries is kind of just it’s kind of a silent assassin. It sits there. It does a good job, but it doesn’t really hit the numbers and get the kind of accreditation that probably deserves because Ping really have just nailed the G series market. They’ve absolutely caned it. Everyone’s loving it and this little bad boy just kind of goes under the radar. So, I think this is going to be a really interesting test. If i240 can get close to T250, that is going to be one interesting challenge. So, let’s jump on the mat and see what the numbers say. So, guys, we’ll jump straight in with T250. I’ve got the AMT red in it today. Let’s have a little little look. So, we’re using the RCT balls from from Titalist as well for our Trackman data. Just you can hear the sound when you strike a good one with this T250. It really is crisp. I really like it. I really like the look of it. I like what they’ve done with it. The the top edge looks good. It looks sharper than T200. It really is the facelift that that category needed for tight list. It’s just a great iron, but really good. And I can see why so many players are comboing this with the 150. I can see why they would use this in the longer iron, the mid to long irons. I can see why it’s such an easy iron to hit. I blocked that one. But just so good. I mean, the sound, the feedback from it is just really enjoyable. Like it’s really I’m pulling again. just a solid solid iron. And it’s tough when you get an iron that that is that good that we can then put it up against one that kind of goes under the radar. 240 for me is just a beautiful looking iron. And I wish Ping would put give this way more in its launch. You know, they they tend to launch the I series later in the year. I’d love them to just go bang with an iron like this. the next launch they do, I would love it to be in the mix with the family of woods that they do at the beginning of the year. Give the fitters the G new G series in a couple of years time and the Ieries at the same time and let them fit both. This split launches that these brands are doing. It’s like tireless trying to launch 350 and 150 in two different months of the year. It doesn’t really help us as fitters. It definitely doesn’t help you as consumers because you jump in and you’re the ping guy. you you might go 530 or or whatnot now, but realistically this iron should be played by more and more players. And I think if you could launch it at the same time as they launch the woods and the family, wow, I think you’d sell a lot more because there’ll be a lot more people wanting to try it. Different sound alto together. You might be able to um you might be able to pick that up on the camera on the mics. It’s a little bit softer off the face. The feedback is very very different. We’ll see the numbers in a moment and whether what that that effect is or if there’s any effect on the ball speed. Definitely feel like I launch this one nice and high as well. Yeah, nice. Just feels lovely. It’s just such a good iron. A little bit towy, but still pretty good. Just feels nice. It just looks good. Looks clean. Top edge is fantastic. Ah, knife. Come on. Don’t know what that was. Let’s hit one more. I mean, that’s come out. We’ll delete that one. That’s one of them ones that we’ve talked about in previous videos that we will we will delete cuz that was rubbish. Little bit towy again. Okay. So, let’s have a little look at these numbers. So, straight away, let’s just dump that one. I’m going to dump the last or two last couple there because they were little bit ty little bit thin. So in terms of carry distance, you can see there that the 250 is that much further. It is a longer iron. Five yards, five, six yards is is significant in this category. It really is. You’re talking about nearly a whole club. Definitely half a club if not a whole club with some players. So in terms of the rest of the data, so let me just open this screen up a little bit for you. You can see here club speed similar um little bit quicker with the 250 which actually makes sense with some of the technology and and the kind of torque that tights have had with this iron. So kind of makes sense. Um ball speed is a couple of miles quicker. So, this is where that extra distance is coming from. What’s brilliant for me on both irons is the land angle. You can see that’s 50 plus. If you look at some of the previous videos of irons I’ve done in this category, they’ve come in a little bit hot. They’ve come in a little bit flat. And what’s really fascinating for me is the spin rate. It’s still low for me. I still need to tweak that loft. You know, I’ve said this in previous videos with this iron. This is a distance players distance iron. So, it looks like a good iron, but it is going to just go. Um, for me, I struggle with spin generally. So, you can see it’s better than some of the previous irons that I’ve tested. However, I’d want it a little bit more. So, I’d probably weaken that loft off in a fitting um if I was really dialing that club in for me as well. But, spin rate’s better. Actually, slightly better with 240, which is I’d expect. Um got a little bit of a softer feel, which is and 240 is a really solid iron from that perspective. But in terms of this category, in terms of ball speed, in terms of distance, 250 is definitely winning out here. And and what’s brilliant about the 250 is it’s not it’s not sacrificing land angle to do it. So, it’s not coming in like a bullet low and flat. It’s actually getting a nice flight, landing nice and and soft, and is carrying that little bit further. So, head-to-head today, 250 versus I240. Although Ping is a brilliant, brilliant iron, I think if I hadn’t tested 250, it would be up there. But on this occasion, the head-to-head, the winner has to go to the T250. Guys, thanks very much for watching. I hope that was helpful in you picking your next iron and hopefully give you a bit of a guidance and a little bit of a showcase that sometimes you have to look at lots of different irons. And once you get an iron that works in terms of ball speed, there may be something you need to do in terms of tweaking the loft or the shaft or so on and so forth to really dial that product in. But for today, 250 comes out on top. Thanks for watching, guys, and please hit that subscribe button.

Are u using the Ping in the power loft spec or is it the standard loft version ? The numbers will be very different depending on the spec and the comparison with the strong-lofted T250 can be meaningless.
Definitely need to state the loft angle version of the i240; based on the video it seems your about half a club a part which would more than be made up with power spec, versus retro spec.
Thanks for this
Really enjoying your head to heads
Can you put the i240 up against the TM P770 please?
Their specs are virtually identical so would be a good match
Also the Wilson CBs along with them if you have them available 😀
Ping NEEDS to be in power spec, or else this test is completely invalid.
T250 7 iron loft 30.5
I240 7 iron loft 33
These clubs are not even in the same category, pointless comparing them against each other unless they have very similar lofts.
I’m really surprised that the Ping kept up as well as it did given the Titleist club speed was about 2 mph faster and weaker lofts on the Ping .
Comparing these two clubs is comparing apples and oranges lol lets put a Ferrari up against a VW
