Thanks for watching!
[Music] And that is just so pure. Let’s see if that was better. Yes. Hey guys, thanks for watching. I am wearing this new thing called the 4D Motion AI smart shirt that was sent to me. It’s a golf device that I think is really interesting. So, I’ve been using it for about like four or five days, and it has a whole bunch of different metrics. You just put it on, calibrate it, and it shows all this different stuff about how your body is moving. The positions, yes, but then also like how it’s moving as far as percentages and how much things are gaining on other things because great golfers do things in certain ratios that bad golfers don’t. So, I’m going to do a full review of this shirt some other time, but I wanted to talk about one of those ratios that I think really starts to quantify what it means to have effortless power. Effortless power is something that you always hear like somebody will say Fred Couples or Ernie L’s, they have effortless power. This starts to quantify what that means. So, of all the different metrics that this shirt gives off, we’re going to concentrate on one. In wearing this shirt, it has revealed to me a major flaw in my swing that when I fix it, I swing easier. The ball comes off lower and goes further and straighter. So, let me just hit a a shot like I normally would. So, I’m going to go here and I go Okay, so I hit that really well and that’s about how I normally would hit it. So, the ball went super straight. It went 170 yards with this 7 iron. It went like three yards left. The metric that I’m talking about here is this thing over here called the KS torso speed gain. This is some been something that has been incredibly difficult and frustrating for me to fix, but it’s been totally eye opening. It’s this one here that says 55%. So what this is ideally 1.5 times increase from pelvis to torso speed. This indicates efficient energy transfer and sets the stage for faster arm and club speed. There’s a certain range that you want your hips to be going relative to your shoulders. What that means basically is that your hips go a certain speed and then your shoulders should go 50% faster than that. So, these numbers aren’t right, but basically, if your hips are going 10 miles an hour, your shoulders should be going 15. What this does for me all the time and is really frustrating is I move my hips. whatever I move, like say my hips went at 10 miles an hour, my shoulders would be going like 19, like way too fast, which is showing me that I’m just yanking and tugging with this with the shoulders and the upper body and the lower body is not doing that much. And this is where I think that you start to see like effortless power. If people are really using when I use the shoulders like a whole ton and it starts to get red on that number there, the KS torso speed gain. Let me see if I can do one kind of like that. So, this is to me is going to feel kind of like a Terrell Hatton shot. So, that is the one that I’m doing wrong. So, that starts to send the ball higher. It spins more. It goes shorter. It went four yards shorter. So, I’ve got to get that down into the green, like lower. Like, I want to try to make it like 51 or 50. So, ball went really far, a little high, and now I’m in the red again. Golly. All right, beautiful shot. Let’s see. Great shot. Ball went 174. Okay, that is what I want. 59. Okay, so how do you affect this change? How do you If you’re someone that if you got on this machine, you would see it be very red as far as like you’re tugging and you’re using the shoulders really hard. Even if like you are not over the top, but you’re still in essence you are over the top because you’re like T-spine like shoulder dominated in what you want what you do. So I think a good way to try to do this is step drills. So Xander Schoffley famously like if he’s not playing well, he’s got two different step drills that he does. This is something a video I saw his dad talk about. So, if he’s hitting it one way, let’s say like he’s hitting it left, he does a certain step drill. And if he’s hitting it right, he does a a different step drill, but it’s always like in the flow of it. And that’s I think how you can really unlock this effortless power is I’m going to try this little bit of a happy Gilmore hit here. So, my feet are about two fists apart. step and swing. Let’s see if that was able to do it. Yeah, that was great. 56%. So, we’re going to here step and swing. Let’s control the fist. So, it’s just a little bit of a baby step. Okay. Super solid strike. Uh face was a little open. 58. All right. Good. So, this is working. This is The only thing I’ve found out to be able to keep this in the green is a bit of a step drill. The thing that I’ve realized though is like I made that, you guys may have seen that rubber band lazy Susan thing that’s like I stand on it and I push it this way and that way. I realized that all my things have to be step on a torquing level, not so much a stepping like I think when people do step drills, they do too much there. So, it’s a step drill, but it’s got to be. So, what I’m actually going to do is I’m going to step into it like that. This would be hard to hit a ball with, but I’m going to try it. This is going to be my modified step drill. Wow, that is not easy to get a strike on that shot. But that makes my sequence absolutely perfect as far as my torso speed gain was only was 50%. So there, my hips went a certain speed and my shoulders went 51% faster. And I’m going to do this modified step drill where I’m actually going to be walking into it. So I’m going to start off with the club here. I’m going to walk in, step, and hit here. And walk in, step, and Okay, that was super good. That last one was 60. This one was 63. Walk. We’ve seen a ton of step drills where we’re stepping laterally. Now we’re going to be doing a little different. We’re start with the club here. Step in and hit. See how that did? I don’t think I’m using my hips enough. Yeah, I’m not using my hips enough. You have to step into it with enough force that would actually rebound you away from it. So, we The toss part here is super critical. Toss. All right, that may be the best iron shot of my life. Let’s see launchwise how that came out. 20. Oh, it came out quite high actually. 28. It didn’t go very far. It felt better than that. I was surprised. Okay, so that one was 54. All right, so that’s great. That’s exactly how I want to hit it. And that felt that had that feeling of effortless power that I’m chasing. And I don’t think it’s any coincidence that that one was one of my lowest torso speed gains. So, that one was down to 54. All right. So, now I got to do that without actually stepping or tossing. So this is the toss is you toss it out here, throw it back, step into it, and hit it. Now you got to do all that but from uh this starting position where your feet don’t actually move. So all right, 59. That’s really good. So that’s I’m on to something there. And it was appropriately launched, too. So what we came down to is in order for me to get this effortless power it I have to work on the metric that is called kinematic sequence torso speed gain and I have to get that as low as I can get it in order to get that low the best thing I found is like you can try to intellectually do it but it’s better if you just find a feel that works for me it’s when I do the step drill right here it’s actually not the normal step drill you would think where you go that I’m actually going there. I mean, that is just so pure. Let’s see if that was better than 75. Yes, I was in the green. 58. That was beautiful. Toss. Okay. Again, the ball went super straight just like maybe two yards from the line, but I tugged on it just a little bit. So, I got to have like major major patience in transition. Then I have to light the hips up. Okay. So, I’m going to recalibrate this and then wrap this up. Exactly. Like show you how I did this. Start calibration. Bend your truck. 180 turn under trunk again. Body calibration complete. All right, moment of truth. So, I think I figured out how to get effortless power. And what that is is you got to get your shoulders moving only 50% faster than your hips. That’s like something you can’t really do just by thinking about it. The only way I found to do it is you have to start doing step drills where you feel like you’re using your legs and you’re relaxing your shoulders a little bit. I found that step drills for me particularly because I torque the ground. If I walk away and towards the ball rather than side to side step drills, but away and towards the ball step drills, that seems to be the best. So, here’s one of the drills here. What I do is you put a T there. I don’t know if you can see this T, but you put a T right where you want your foot to end, right? Then you open up, you toss the club towards the target, then you toss it away from the target, step to the tea, and hit the ball. All right, that sounded really good. Not in control of the face, but I’m getting it better. Okay. So now once you’ve done the step drill a few times, you want to start to actually hip balls without moving your feet, but keeping that same feel. It’s like I can’t stop myself from pulling hard. That was a great shot. Okay, 59°. Perfect. Hit the line on the button. Launched at 25°. went 174 yards. So that’s the effortless power that I’m going for. Let’s but it’s like they say in skateboarding, two to make it true. Got to try again. So putting it all together, it’s the step drill feel that lights up the feet. That gets the feet and hips moving, right? Then you have to relax the hit and punch impulse from the shoulders. Relax that. And then really let your hands have full release. It’s like, let this happen as much as it wants to happen. No holding. Holding is the the death of all your golf dreams. Okay. So, let’s see. Light up the feet and relax everything else. In addition to the step drill, something else we’re going to work on to try to do this is I have the gravity fit here. The gravity fit is like a a set of really intelligent bands that you use that you just like so good for your swing. And I think using these should get me to be able to relax my torso, my T-spine. We’re going to see about that. We’re going to see about that right now. So, I got my step drill feel with the the feet and then stability with the gravity fit. Gosh, that went fast. This went surprisingly fast. I got to relax that. No. Come on. Relax that. ball comes out so much lower when you use the gravity. All right, so we’re going here. There. Keep this width in this trail band like this. I got to maintain that width there. Not let it get here and there. Okay, that was good width. Let’s see if good width is anything. All right, 65. There we go. And when I use the gravity fit, I love how low the ball comes out cuz if you want effortless power, then you need to be delofting your clubs and you need to be turning a seven iron into a 5iron. Felt good about that. It’s hard to match feeling real when you’re doing this. All right. 72. It’s better than how I started. Okay. I can’t launch it better than that. All right. So, the gravity fit is like a super big success for this as far as launching the ball lower, having more width, and getting great smash factor. It’s basically all just step drills and gravity fit bands. So, it’s structure from the gravity fit and it’s speed from the step drills. Basically, the opposite would be if I froze this and just went boom, punch hard, you know? No, I don’t want that. I want width and torque. That was so good. Be as good as you felt. Okay, 52. That was great. Super great. Come on. Gravity fit step drills with with consistent width. That was great. Super 57. So, anything in the yellow or the green is great. When you’re wearing this AI smart golf shirt, it really can has a measurement on it that quantifies what it means to have effortless power. That last one was super smooth and it went far and it was low launched. It’s really good. So effortless power means that you’re not trying to get more energy out of the system than what you put into it. When your shoulders are going more than 50% faster than your hips, it means that you’re independently doing this to try to get power out, that will be powerless effort and a big grunt and the ball won’t really go anywhere. If you want effortless power, you got to use your step drills and then have some structure and some width in your arms like you feel with the gravity fed. I’m going to try the one one now. See if I can do it on command. Yes, I was able to do it on command. I mean, it’s really hard for me because you’re basically rebuilding the DNA of your swing, which is not easy at all. So, steps, relax. All right, went super straight. That was 52. Okay, very good. If you guys are interested in getting some of the things I used in this video, I use the 40 motion AI golf smart shirt. I really like it. I’m going to make sure that the be better golfers can get a discount on it because I think it’s really cool and it can measure certain things and you can work on things that would be completely impossible to do just by feel. Now, I don’t think like you should see all these metrics and try to individually make each one’s perfect. What you do is you incorporate some feels and drills and then you hit balls with those and look back at the data rather than trying to like manually manipulate the data. You do like, okay, let me do some step drills and see how that affects what the shirt’s doing. So, it’s like it’s like any tool. You can use it and you can really geek out on all the different like numbers, but what you want to do is just go out and play with it, hit balls with it, and use it more like you would experiment with like an instrument. The other thing I used in the video was the Gravity Fit straps. If you go to the website in below, it’s gravityfitit.com/beetgolf. You can get a great discount on the Gravity Fit bands, which I think are like a totally essential training aid for anybody who’s playing golf. And you can go also in the description, I’ll put a link special discount for be better golfers for the shirt that I’m wearing now, the Golf Smart AI shirt. All right, thanks for watching everybody. Bye.

They have some good drills with the shirt. Can you do some videos showing how to do the drills?
striking it so well Brendan.
You think Brendan would’ve acquired some type of functional swing by now. He proves to me golf is almost impossible
K-Vest but new. Hopefully it works better and is easier to calibrate with our sensor float
"Effortless"? No. Couples says he's swinging as hard as he can.
There is only an illusion of ease.
Super interesting. You would think too that if your shoulders are disproportionately turning quicker than your hips, it would cause pulls. Something that I constantly struggle with.
Face to path still rules the golf swing. Shirt is interesting, but isn’t going to help most people
hi
KB Torso Speed Gain 是不要延迟肩加速吗
I’d love to see jake knapp in one of these
Maybe a slight body press to start?
OMG! This is why everyone thinks golf is hard. It is absurd to think that you can actively control the speed of the shoulders vs the speed of the hips during the millisecond of the golf swing. Learning to "not do the wrong thing" is a ridiculous and horrible way to learn anything. If you were somehow able to perform "the right thing," you'd have no idea how or why you did it, other than NOT doing 50 wrong things. Wouldn't it be much easier to learn how to do the ONE RIGHT THING and stop doing all this ridiculous stuff? The golf club is not some crazy genie stick that you must please in order for it to work properly. It's a tool and it has a specific way to use it and as long as you use it properly it will never fail – just as a hammer, screwdriver or drill doesn't randomly fail for no reason – it's always operator error when it does fail. This is the "pleasing the genie stick approach to golf."
What does the AI tab do?
