Washington, DC – Freshman golfer Kyle Virsik has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Virsik and the Explorers participated in the Temple Invitational at The 1912 Club last Monday and Tuesday. Virsik led the way in his third collegiate tournament, shooting two strokes over par through 54 holes of play, good enough for an individual T-3rd place finish. Virsik ranked third among the 72-player field in par three scoring average and ranked sixth in overall pars made. The Explorers finished in a three-way tie for first place as a team.
Virsik and the Explorers will next be in action on October 12 at the Bucknell Invitational at Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, PA.
