It was Team Europe’s golden win this weekend in New York at the Ryder Cup, and the celebrations are not near over yet. Joining in those celebrations are pro golfer Justin Rose and his wife Kate.
Justin has had an amazing year of golf so far, coming runner-up in the Masters Tournament to Rory McIlroy and standing beside him, his wife, Kate Phillips.
According to Golf Monthly, Justin only plays with number 99 golf balls as a nod to his wife, as nine is her lucky number. To ‘Double his luck’, he changed it to 99. Being one of the most recognisable couples on and off the course, here’s what we know about Justin’s wife Kate..

Kate grew up in England
Kate grew up in Chiswick and attended the Godolphin and Latymer Upper School for Girls. Kate went on to University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Italian from the University of Sussex.
While studying, Kate was involved with a lot of societies outside of academics, like the University’s Ladies Hockey team and a member of the University’s Royal Naval Unit.
Kate worked for IMG in the early 2000s, the media company that was managing Justin at the time. As part of her work, Kate would travel to the different golf tournaments Justin would play in, and the rest is history.
They tied the knot in December 2006 and will be celebrating their 20th year of marriage next year.

A growing family
Kate and Justin share two children: son Leo, who was born in 2009, and daughter Charlotte, or Lottie, who came along three years later.
Although she and Justin now live Stateside with their family, Kate grew up in London and is determined for her children to be aware of their history.
In an interview with the Telegraph, Justin said his wife is ‘keen’ to make sure their children know their heritage. ‘Kate is determined that our children feel English, that this should be who they are. She adores London, as a Chiswick girl born and bred.’

Kate is a philanthropist
In 2009, the couple set up the Kate and Justin Rose Foundation, which helps support children who live in poverty and fight against childhood hunger in Orlando, Florida.
In 2021, Justin received the Payne Stewart Award on behalf of the foundation for their charitable work. PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan praised the work of the couple, saying: ‘The inspiring progress that he and Kate have made through their family’s foundation is a terrific representation of how Payne chose to focus his efforts away from the golf course, by giving back and treating people the right way. ‘
Kate also helped run the Rose Ladies Series in 2020, in which the pair donated over €40,000 (£35,000) to sponsor the events. During the years 2006-2010, Kate was also a board director of the PGA Tour Wives Association. What can’t she do?

Kate is a fashionista
To add to her many accolades, Kate is usually seen sporting a fashionable look when she attends Justin’s tournaments. Most recently, she was seen at the Ryder Cup ceremony wearing matching white suits along with the other WAGs, as well as some chic and timeless looks throughout the weekend.
