IOWA CITY, Iowa – The North Dakota State women’s golf team sits in seventh place of 16 teams following the first two rounds of the Diane Thomason Invitational at Finkbine Golf Course on Monday.

Norah Roberts (75-75—150) is the top Bison after 36-holes of the event. Roberts shot matching rounds of +3 on the day, notching three birdies in the first round and a fourth in the second round. Roberts carded 23 holes at par between both rounds to finish in a tie for 12th place at +6 heading into the final day.

Madi Hicks (74-79—153) finished just behind Roberts in a tie for 20th place at +9 after the first two rounds. Hicks also picked up four birdies on the day, with 21 holes at par and finished round one at +2 and round two at +7.

Hannah Dunk (78-76—154) sits one shot back from Hicks going into the final round of play. Dunk led the Bison squad in holes at par for the day, firing 14 in the first round to finish +6 and 12 more in the second round to finish +4. The junior is locked in a tie for 27th place at +10 heading into the final round.

Cora Larson (83-72—155) fired the best round for the Bison today in the second round of the event. Larson sank three birdies and 12 holes at par to finish at an even par in the second round, to soar 33 spots up the leaderboard. Larson was +11 in round one to sit in a tie for 35th place at +11.

Avery Bartels (83-80—163) and Jeri Lafleche (80-84—164) wrap up the Bison for the day. Bartels shot rounds of +11 and +8 to finish at +19 in a tie for 72nd place, and Lafleche, who is playing as an individual, carded rounds of +8 and +12 to finish +20 in a tie for 78th place.

Together, NDSU (310-302—612) sit in seventh place, five strokes back from Bowling Green (308-299—607). After the first two rounds, Montana State (293-300—593) lead the field at +17, with host Iowa (296-303—599) in second and Missouri State (300-301—601) in third.

The Bison will conclude play at the Diane Thomason Invitational on Tuesday, with a shotgun start scheduled to tee off at 8:30 a.m. CT.
