Tommy, congratulations on the Nicholas Jack Award presented by AR. You have to make a lot of decisions on and off the golf course here at Beth Page. As you look back on this week, what’s a big decision that you really feel like went in a positive direction you for you? I don’t know. I don’t know. It’s uh I think it’s one of those one of the awards that you um it’s a strange one. you obviously never you never set out. Um it’s something that I I think you probably get awarded, you know, without you know, you just try and do the right things. You try and play in the right way. Probably the best decision I had was made for me by the captain and I’ve been great partners probably. Um but yeah, this is this is uh this is really cool. I just said to Justin then I said, “Oh, I I I got awarded the Nicholas Jackson award.” So that’s the two of us that have that have got that which is something if I’m following his following in his footsteps, um that’s always a good thing. I think so. Yeah. This this is cool. Watch you this week. Back it up. [Applause] [Music] Captain. I’m just like Captain America. Captain Europe. The shield. Hate the champagne. I hate the champagne. Hey, I watch. Hey, Rosie. That’s right. Pass recipient as well. Sorry. You were crashing the interview. You are crashing the interview. Crash. You won it two years ago. So just this is your time. Your time, your place. No, no, it’s I probably got it because of you actually. So, uh, I watch you this week. Um, today you gave Justin a big hug after a very hard bar match. Um, yesterday you tried to diffuse what was a competitive environment as you walked to the 16th team. How important is sportsmanship to you in the Ryder Cup? Well, yeah. I mean I mean, of course it is. You want to you want to play in the right way and I I think you know all you all you want uh there’s always going to It’s really intense. The RDA Cup is the most intense uh emotions that that we feel. It’s probably always something that’s going to happen. I don’t think anybody means anything by it. I think um you know, you you just want to go out there, play golf in an amazing environment, and whoever plays the best is is going to is going to win on that day, you know. And um I felt like I had a a great match with Justin Thomas, the other Justin today. Uh and and that didn’t go my way. Um and you know, you sh you shake hands on the last screen. Uh you hug it out. He uh he beat me today. He was better than me. And that’s and that’s how it goes. You know, I um I had a couple of amazing days, but overall, you know, for us as as a team, Lucas instilled in us a very amazing attitude. Um trying to win in the right way. Like winning is one thing. You want to do it in the right way and and play in the right spirit. And I feel like we’ve done that as a team this week. Finally, how would you describe the spirit of the RDER Cup? Just keeps growing and growing. Um, I think even in even even in my time playing in Ryder Cups, it just becomes uh, you know, it just it just gets bigger and better and the bonds that you know, I can only speak for team Europe. That’s that’s like that’s my team and that’s what I’m part of and and the bond that we have just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Our legacy continues to grow. We’re the lucky guys that are part of that right now. in 20 years, 30 years time, we’re not. But, you know, we’ve we’ve done our bit and we’ve been a part of that and um and that means the world to us. Congratulations. Enjoy the celebration. Thank you. Yeah. I hate champagne. I told you.

Such a nice bloke well worthy of the award. Tommy is said to be the best player that has never won a title on the PGA tour, at least not until recently when he finally (!!!) broke the curse an captured his first title after 12 years and 164 attempts.
It is almost to be expected that he wins 4 points in the foursomes and fourball, he is just that good. But, when the pressure builds his knees tend to buckle and it is unfortunately no surprise that he looses his single "Tommy style" on the 18th green. That was really hard to watch.

For me Justin Rose is a stalwarth of the Europeans Ryder Cup team – he's been there so many times and goes into beast mode every time !!! ( I recall off hand his match v Phil in Medinah in 2012 – That was EPIC )

i would have given it to JT, but i guess you have to win first. he tried to get the crowd to cheer for him, and he did his best to quiten the rowdyness for his opponents. Justin Thomas embodies the spirit of the Ryder Cup for the Americans, and never gave up on his team giving it his all.
Tommy is great too, and i'm glad he's on our side.

As an American I’m disappointed we didn’t win, extremely disappointed in the crowd and how they treated the Europeans. Tommy, Rosie, Rory, Shane, Rahm those guys are top notch. Well deserved Europe. We’re coming for you in Ireland!
