Maxime Talbot’s 2 goals and Marc-Andre Fleury’s incredible save in the final seconds gave the Penguins the 2-1 victory over the Red Wings in Game 7 of the 2009 Stanley Cup Final.

#NHL

[Applause] Toss out all the statistics.
Forget about all the previous games. None of it matters anymore except this one game. A
game we’ve all played in our driveways and in our one game for the Stanley Cup. In game seven
of round two against Washington, Mark Andre Pur stopped an early breakaway by Alex Ovetkin.
And Pittsburgh went on to win that series, win that game. He had those heroics in game six
of this series as well. and he may need another defining save or two tonight. Chris Osgood was
very relaxed this morning. Maybe it’s because he’s so comfortable at home where he’s 11 and one
and has surrendered just 18 goals in 12 games this spring for the cut is underway at the Joe. Brian
Lolski and Nick Litstrom playing against Crosby back for the puck in their own zone. Long stretch
pass intended for Clearary. He’ll have to track   it down. And the Red Wings are keep this alive
in the attacking zone. Sergey Konchar is back. Here’s Clearary working fevers lead again loose
trying to leave the puck behind to Pavl Dad,   but Cosby battles him hard and Clear goes
down. Sergey Kchar up the boards and not quite out. Lindstöm held the puck in. Zedberg
to Cle a bouncer. He’s stopped by Flurry. A turn back by Pickless Lstrom. Held the Red
Wings in and they’ve still got the puck. Henrik Centerberg leaves the puck for Datsu. Brooks
Orpick barges into the middle. Gets the puck and now Pittsburgh should get out for the first
time as Cosby’s bumped at his own [ __ ] What   a great shift by Danny Clary, too. He was the
one that chased down that icing, kept it alive, and then got the good chance at the net. Johan
Fran in the fore and he gets a big hit on Chris Latang who bounced right off it and made the
play. Those are the kind of plays you have to make in game seven. And Getty Balkan is on the ice
with Fenotenko and Max Talbet. Here’s Fenotenko number 26. Back for Talbot. He’s working against
Brad Stewart. Latang comes in off the blue line trying to hold the pucket against Johan Fronzen
number 93. Off the boards, Latang again keeps the pucket. Here’s Marian Hosa with Valtary Filov.
And Johan Fronzen and he bounces the puck out to center. Mark Eaton takes over for Pittsburgh.
His partner Chris Matt has had a good first shift. Gets the puck back in over the line and there’s
an offside call against Pittsburgh. One thing you   know when you come into the Joe is especially
this line Jordan Stall with Tyler Kennedy and Matt Cook they can be very influential at this in
this game if they can get that check going. And there’s Stall in on Brett Lipa. Michael Samson
with an outlet stripped away from Darren Helm. Stall now in for shoot at Leba who turns back
the other way. Jonathan Erikson under pressure. Made a play to Thomas Holmstrom. Up the middle
goes the speedy Darren Helm. He’s got Samuelson   on the other side. Helm in with a for check.
Knocked the puck loose. Holstrom trying to center it and hit the back of the net. Helm along
the boards throws another hit. He’s had more than   any other player in these Stanley Cup playoffs.
Jordan Stall deep in his home zone helping his defense. Rob Scader who had a terrific game. Six
up the boards for Tyler Kennedy. Can’t get out against the tenacious checking of Darren Helm.
now into the middle of the ice. A threeon two,   but Kennedy couldn’t take the pass and Lipa
turned him back. That’s something there the Penguins can’t do. An opportunity to get in
on the offense to get a lick on the Detroit D and a turnover in the neutral zone. Fourth Lions
have come on the ice for their first shift. So, everybody’s been into the game now. Nero
Satan into the game for Peter Sakura out here with Pascal Dwi and Craig Adams against
Chris Draper, Kurt Multi, and Yuri Hooker. Brad Stewart slows the pace. He’s watched
by Duke. Nicholas Cromwell the number 23 Stewart. Long pass to center ice and Malty
sends an aerial bouncing into the corner. Sergey Kchar is the first man back. reverses to
Brooks or pick. He’s under pressure. Mighty got the puck. Turning the throw to the front of the
net. Make a pass. Taken away by Pascal Jukri. And   a big play. Red Wings are offside. Draper tags
up and the Red Wings are changing as Miro Satan gets the puck deep and he’ll be the last of his
line to change. Zerberg and Data come back over the boards with Danny Curry. That means Cosby’s
on the ice and he’s not far away from Curry and   Zerberg. What kind of shift will this one be?
Centerberg trying to make a pass to Datsuk. It comes to Nick Linster. He shoots blocked
in front of the net. And Curry again stopped that. Here’s Brian Rosski. Bobbled the puck as
he looked up and he has to regroup. Rolski and Lstster. Here they come again. A tip in by Pavle
Datsu. Right to Mark Andre Flurry and he decides to hold on for a face off. And now they’re
running out of places to stay. You got it. Hawkins line stays on here against Fitman with his
line. Fronzen dumps the puck in. A bouncing puck for Furry and like a good shortstop. He made
himself big and he made the catch. Not only made the catch, but made sure that he was able to
control that hard bounce. You never know where it can go on this ice. It’s a hot night again here.
The ice has had trouble all three games and this one’s just a high flip. Flurry knows that there’s
pressure coming. This would be huge to take the lead on the power play. First period, they gain
the puck and get it back. Bosby side of the net in front for Garrett. He couldn’t pull the trigger.
Quick pass and he just couldn’t get a shot away.   There’s some urgency in this power play already.
Kchar to Sydney Cosby and getting Malin. Karen’s in front. Latang sneaking in. Back door play
from the left point. Now he has to retreat. Cosby walks out. Passes to Malin. The puck
skipped over top of his stick. There’s Gonchar. K forms. The shot tipped by Cosby. Stopped by
Osgood and steered to the boards. Chris Latang Garen. Latang for Kar. Little pass to Malin. He’s
got Cosby at the side of the net. Takes the shot. Stopped by Osgood. Might have been going wide.
Anyway, Cosby relays the puck around the boards   for Bill Karen. Great pressure here. Red Wings
will need a change pretty soon, but they can’t get the puck. Malin Kchar slides it in the middle of
the ice. Coffin as the screen sets up from Garrett in front of the net. Here’s Crosby. Puck bounced
off his stick and he recovered to get the puck to Chris Latang. Over a minute into the power play.
Here’s Kchar to Maltton fake like he was going to pass. Takes the shot. Hit the ankle of Nick Lra.
Jonathan Ericson can’t come up with a puck. He’s playing instead of Stewart on the penalty kill.
Malin cross ice pass. Finally tipped it off. A minute and a half into the power play, the penalty
killers finally get a change. Jim, a real good   sense of urgency for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
You go back to game five, they struggled with their first power play and it took away all their
momentum. Although they haven’t scored, they’ve   got some momentum from this. Their power play unit
is on the ice. Gar has stayed. Chris Kunit Crosby still out there. Hiro Shitan is with them now.
The pass comes to Gonchar along the boards now. Sydney Crosby eaten steps into the front of the
net. Cosby with the pass and Eden had his stick   checked. Had his stick on the ice but he couldn’t
get the puck. Penalty’s over. Stewart’s back on. Unlike game five here, it was a good power
play for Pittsburgh. And that shouldn’t take   the life out of them because they had
some chances. They controlled the puck for two minutes. Holston trying to tip the
puck in deep. tipped it over the glass and Jordan Stall comes on with Kennedy Lucan
Fedeno for this shift after a power play. [Applause] Taran Helm battling the other way but the Penguins
get into the attacking zone. Jordan Stall fending off Erikson played the pass back to Feno is
centering pass. Stall stop rebound to Tyler Kennedy. He shoots it on. Good made the save
and might have been Kennedy again. Lo took the   puck away to Samuelson and the Red Wings get out
to center. Look at Darren Helm go trying to get to the puck before he checked and knocked him
down. Stays on the puck and he gets bumped and knocked down as the puck comes up the boards to
Kenny. held in by Malty only for a moment. Here’s Matt Cook with a soft shooting trying to break in
himself. Gets to the puck and he got it away from Nick Lstrom. Cycles back. Here’s Max Tal, but
he’s got Duke with him in front of the net in basket by Dwee. In comes Latang off the blue line.
Du watched by Nicholas Litro. Back for Matt Cook. He’s got Talbert out front. Beats the point.
Here’s Chris Latang. Can’t get that by Malty. turns and fires off the boards. If we couldn’t
handle it, Malty got the puck from Lston and gets   out to center. Both teams will need a change now.
Murray sets the puck up for Eaton. Chris Draper flying in on the floor check as the Penguins get
out to center. Kicked off in the middle of the ice   by Zederberg. Draper at the end of his shift dumps
the puck in. Yuri Hoodlers in after Mark Eaton. So is Zedterberg there. Brad Stewart holds the puck
in. Zedberg shot off a leg. The tang is down, but he’s got some help. Greg Adams took a hit,
but d the puck out to center. Here’s Sydney Cosby, not far away from Zerberg. Stewart to Centerberg.
Now he’s got Cosby chasing him. Gave the puck away and Chris Kunich put it onto the Redwing
pitch. Six nights ago in this building,   Mark Andre Flurry yanked in the second period.
But Peter Sakura, who you’ll see here, and Philip Bush going to him on the bench, both telling
him, “You are still going to win us this series as soon as you forget about this. The numbers
aren’t great here.” But just like in game six,   Jim, he makes a couple of huge saves early
to keep the Red Wings off the scoreboard. Penguins get possession off that draw. Matt
Cook tips the puck in. He’s the stall and   Kennedy against the Helm line again. Helm lost
control of the puck and check the backhander off Matt Cook stick went up over top of the net.
Kennedy has had a great start to this game and   had two points in game six. Here’s inforing on
Erikson. There’s Stall held the puck in. Kennedy with a shot. Ozgood settles things down. And it
is the Red Wings right now who are turning over the puck even though they’re winning faceoffs.
They’re in right now. Another faceoff win for   Detroit Tila beat Malin. But again, Pittsburgh
Burks Harden gets the puck back and here’s Malin. Backhand pass out front. Cleared away
by Brad Stewart and a giveaway by Max Talb. Marian Hosa starts out. He’s got rhythm. Vila
coming up late. Takes the pass to the net. De Stopped before it got through. Malcol checked
him on the way back. Great chance for Phil to   turn back. What a great play by Flurry, too.
Just in desperation trying to get to that puck. Talbet raced to the puck at the other end of
the ice but couldn’t control it. Harry and   Hos out of his own zone to Valia again moving
in on Gar stops up front of the net. Kicked away by Mark Andre Flurry. Here’s Miro Shatan
back to center. He shoots the puck in as the pace picks up even more. Ryan Rapolski is back.
can’t take the puck with and Chitan is right on him and takes it back. He cycles back for Chris
Kunit. Crosby’s on the ice. Double shifting here and so Zerberg isn’t far away from him as he dumps
the puck in. Lolski gets back. He’s got Lstrom there as an outlet in the corner. Plays the puck
ahead to Pavle. Datu chasing after him is Kunich. Can’t catch him. That Sou centering pass. It’s
there and Flurry pounces on it before Zuckerberg can get to the puck. What a tough start for Flurry
in this building. He hasn’t been all that busy to   him, but this one is spectacular. Watch as he
follows it across. He gets the poke check on that backside pressure by Malcin. And Phil is
showing his ability to go one-on-one. Tries to pull it to the backhand. What an aggressive smart
play. Scramble draw. Red Wings get it. Fury with a wonderful save just Kirk Malty. Red Wings hold
the puck. Yuri Hoodner twists and turns. She’s got Draper in the slot. Feeds Leba. His shot way wide
of the net. Bounces out in a hurry. Erikson back in behind the net. Rob Skinner’s there up the
boards pinching his Leba. And it paid off. He held the puck in. Hiddler for Maltby who steps in
front of Rob Scaderi. Jordan Stall pushes Hoodler into the mix then finds the loose puck and he’ll
start out. He’s got Adams and Cook with it. Pass is tipped. Knocked down by Brett Lea. Back in
with Hoodler. Get this shot. Missed the net. Comes all the way around to Marian Hosa. He’s
up against Cook. Hosa turns, protects the puck, feeds Erikson. Slap pass. Missed everybody and
comes off the boards. And this will allow Pat Cook to get out to center. In fact, he just
sends the puck down the ice. No icing on the   play. Pittsburgh’s getting a change. Hosa weaves
his way through the neutral zone. One on four. He just shot the bucket and then went after it. Got
in this field back on again for another shift. Their last one was a beauty. Beno and Talbot with
Kenny Mal get out of their own zone. Racing after the puck is Talbot throws the puck at the net.
Hope for a bounce to Latang and didn’t get it. Latang held the puck in. Fedeno centering knocked
away by Nicholas Cornwall from the front of the net. Halen is bounced against the boards but
he’s got help. Here’s Latang from Fenotenko. Fenato comes back to help around the outside in
front. Tal stopped by Ozgood. Out the other way, Mark Eaton holds the puck in. Penguins turn for
pressure. Late stages of the period. Fenato. In comes Latang. Feneto hangs on around the outside
looking for someone to pass to. Now back along the boards. Here’s Malin trying to come out of the
crowd. Knocked away by Henrik Centerberg. And   he takes it himself out to center. Running out of
time in the period. He’s got Fransen with him as he goes wide on the tang. Stops up. lost the puck.
It’s not cleared though. Litto with a shot that just missed an inch. And that’ll be it. A frantic
end to a fastpaced first period and there’s still no score. Way to win some faceoffs. Detroit just
won that one. They’re 12 and three in the faceoff circle to start this game. It is scoreless.
Centerberg’s on the ice. So is Sydney Crosby   as Tatsu tips the puck in for Detroit. Sergey
Donar is back. His pass to Bill Garren. left the puck for Cosby ahead to Cunit. Couldn’t get it in
deep. Lickstrom blocked it and then it’s shot in   by Bill Carrick. Kunich trying to forche. Here’s
Danny Cury after the puck. Bouncing in the neutral zone and Crosby gets it. Spins looking for someone
to deal to. Takes the shot and it fluttered just wide to the net. Brooks Orpic hustled to the puck
and kept it in. Here’s Cunit. Karen trying to get open in front. Centerberg stuck in. Cosby’s over
on the other side. Tunit to Brooks Orpit. This is a good start to the second period for Pittsburgh.
Karen Sydney Crosby watched by Lindstra back to help out as Paddle Datsuk and the Red Wings
snatch the puck and get out to center. Datuk bats it along the boards and the Red Wings start
a change here. The Penguins will need one as   well. Orick will rush to center and likely dump
the puck in to finish the change. Max Talbert. There he is again. Forchking right in on Brad
Stewart. Escape with the puck. Turns it over.   Score. Max Talbot gets the game’s first
goal. Pittsburgh leads one to nothing. A lot of Pittsburgh faithful here in Detroit. Don
talked about the impact of Max Talba getting in first. It’s what you do in the first period that
sets the tone for the second. The quick forch check, the turnover by Stewart and Malin just
directs that puck towards Tallet as he does a heads up job getting right on it and wasting
no time at all. That little hesitation back to his forehand. Of course, Chris Osgood.
Watch Osgood as he goes down. He thinks the shot’s going to come right away. Now he’s
got to slide over to his right. Finds the   five hole to make it one- nothing. Talbot from
Malcolm 113 into the second period. And Jimmy, you talk about Pittsburgh Penguin hockey. Like
Elliot was saying, Mike Yo, that’s where they   feel they can have success instead of trying to
play through the middle ice, get the puck deep, get in on the for check, and slowly but
surely pick away at this solid defensive pairing by hitting them every chance he can.
Samson holds the puck and threw it at the net.   It just about bounced in off Rob Scader. Tyler
Kennedy trying to clear the puck. Wouldn’t let him. Here’s Michael Samuelson. Has left
in the shooting position. Turns back.   He’s in traffic. There’s a penalty coming up
against Pittsburgh as Erikson shoots the puck wide. Jordan Stall is going to be penalized for
hooking. Holman’s going as well. A lot of talent and a lot of ice and center just won another
face. Ryan Rafolski puts a shot wide to the   net. Just missed and Chris Kunich comes up with
the puck. Crosby breaks through the middle of the ice. Close up at the blue line. Kunich shot
down by Raolski. Back for the puck is paddle D and he turns up ice. backhands the bucket against
Brooks or pick and then chases Sergey Gonchu got the puck center shoots. That was blocked by the
hand of Chris Kunit. Now he’s trying to clear the puck and he can’t do it. How can’t handle
the bouncing puck and he’s forced out to center starting a change. Falcons come on the ice. So is
Danny Cleary fakes the shot. Now he can’t take it. taken to the boards by Brooks. Gonchar long change
in this period. He hasn’t been able to get off on this ship. Here’s Malin out with Cosby. Malin
shoots. Oz with the save and he hands on. No rebound for Sid. Well, Malin had a hand in that
first goal. Has seven goals in these playoffs. He scored some beauties and some big ones. First goal
of this game tonight. Marian Horses on the ice. Still goalless in this series. William Crosby even
in points at three. Out of his own zone comes Max Talberta. Pascal Dupree is with it with him racing
for the net. Osgood pokes the puck away. Dwee holds it in. Stewart goes after Talbert. Along the
boards, Pascal Dree checked by Nicholas Cornwall who took the puck away. A dozen seconds left in
the penalties that were called coincidentally. Kosa gets the puck in deep. Mark Andre
Curry’s out to play it. In some trouble here,   he bounced the puck off a teammate. Hosa Nat’s
just come on the ice back with Mary and Hosa for a shift. Holstrom and Stall have returned to the
ice. Matt Cook moves the puck out of his own zone   to center. Both teams changing to get their lines
in order. There’s a pass up the middle. Holstrom has to gather it in. He’s got Samuelson and Helm
with him as he gets the puck out of his net in   trouble again as the puck bounces off the back of
the goal. Holstrom pounced on it. He’s got Samson right behind him or protected him, but Pittsburgh
can’t get the puck out. Donai will try and he got it by Darren Helman out. This is where the
experience of the veterans has to take hold. They   just can’t get rattled. Stick to their game plan.
Here’s Darren Helman to the net. Stopped by Furry. The rebound. Samuelson couldn’t gather it in.
Rafalski lost control. Matt Cook trying to break away. Rapolski to the net. The shot. Osgood makes
the save and the nets off. [Music] Cooks arguing for a penalty or maybe a penalty shot as Raolski
came back and went straight to the net with back to five on five again. Bronson gets the
puck deep and he gets to it before Hal Gil Bronson takes the shift here with Curry
and Zetterberg. There’s Garen at center   with Kunich Cosby coming up late. The long shot
is stopped by Osgood. Maybe Pavachu’s going to play a shift or two with Marian Hosa after all.
Here’s Henrik Zetterberg delays, but the puck just wide to the net. Chris Kunits up the boards
intended for Cosby. He’s checked by Johan Crownen. Takes over. Cosby’s hurt. Doubled over after
running into Rolski along the boards. And he’s really in trouble as he heads to the
bench. Yeah, he hurt his knee. Here’s Valtary fifth it off. Stewart goes to the net.
The pass comes along the boards to him. He lets it go. Has all over him. A Datu playing
with Hosa and Fa That remains on the wing, but he’s playing here with Mary and Hosa. Now the
argument by Sydney Crosby was it was a little bit early too. The puck had gone by. He wanted an
interference call, but his leg exposed from knee to knee with conson. [Applause] And it’ll
be against Pittsburgh. How’s going to get it? Cosby’s hurt. That should have been a penalty for
interference on Fran. What a big center came on and won the face off. Yuri Hoodler with Franzen
in front of the net. center walks in, shoots,   and takes the goal out. The puck’s behind and
in. Murray’s all right as Craig Adams gets the puck out of his own zone. He’s got Max Talbot
with him. Takes it wide, takes the shot. Osgood makes the save and he’s forced. But now with 87,
your focus has to just continue to be what’s going on in the ice, not what’s happening back in the
room. Red Wings have a new power play unit on the ice. Rapolski and Lynch deployment. That souk up
front with Marian Hosa and Thomas Holst coming. You know where he’s going to go. Slowly to center
by Rolk. Marian Hosa picks up speed and gets into the attacking zone. Hard around the boards
for Holster. He’s shoveled the puck intended   for Hosa. But the Bins got it and swiftly cleared
it. A good job of Pittsburgh staying aggressive. You just can’t back off this power play,
especially with the addition to Jack Soup into the attacking zone again. Gatsuit for Hosa. Knocked
down by Kchar. Hosa tracked down the puck that the referee skates now around for Holstrom. Not a
chance yet on the power play for Detroit. And now they’re two on two facing Max Talbot who takes a
shot wide to the net. Lively bounce. Lstrom got back to check Talbert and the Red Wings get out
to center. Barry and Hosson drops in behind him. He’s just come back on the ice to Lidstrom at the
blue line. The screen is set up. The pass to the   side of the net had it bounce off him on the other
side. Cornwall shoots. Curry had that one. Hit him and it bounced to the corner. Batsuk again back
for Nick Lindstrom. Consony in front. Nicholas Cornwall. Livingston one-time. Fury makes the
save. Swimming trying to find the puck. Cleared around the boards. Gills out of the penalty box.
Could be a break here. Hal Gil on Nick Livingston would knock the puck away. A tough time for it
to be Hal Gil coming out there. Joe wasn’t ready   for it. Couldn’t quite control it. And the first
thing he was looking for, Jim, is to get off the ice. Instead, he had a chance offensively. A good
penalty kill by the big penalties. Perry just got a high stick in the face as he crossed the blue
line undetected. Here’s Ed Kenny Malcolm. First   shift after a penalty kill. Roan Fenitel and
Pascal Dupree are with him. Chris Matang down the boards kept the puck in. Stewart and Dupree
come together. Pascal Dupree. Balkans down to the front of the net. Better take those pass went off.
Ozgood. He tipped it. They got the puck to Freren.   Here’s Cleary racing down the middle is Brad
Stewart. He’s checked on the play by Latang and the puck comes to Flurry who hangs on. Well, you
mentioned the good penalty kill of the Penguins. Stall and Malin remain the two big centers
and they’ll have to step up now. They’ll get   some extra ice time. Jordan Stall deep in his
home zone. Makes it out in the pass. Bill Karen to center. This is Stall filling in for Cosby
with Karen and Cudit. Bouncing puck for Osmond   and he lays it back in the corner. Red Wings get
possession. Taran Helm led up right on the stick of Samson. He gets the punt deep. He’s bumped
by Hal Gil. Fans wanted a penalty. They don’t get one as Baron chews the puck to save. Jim,
that’s been a much talked about play all series   long. The interference when the puck’s been
dumped in and Dan Biles has been pretty happy with the way it’s been called. And that one,
I’m sure he’s ecstatic that there’s no call   again. Kevin Wilson in field again. Chris Draper
right there. Tyler Kennedy has to turn back. Rob Scader will give him a hand here up the boards
for Kunit and he’ll battle Brad Stewart and gets   the puck out. Here’s a twoon one. Talbet
with Kennedy. Talbet shoots. He scores. Talbett’s got two and Pittsburgh’s ahead in
Detroit two to nothing. Well, Don Cherry’s grinders at it again. It’s the Detroit Red Wings
trying to create something out of nothing. A pinch on the wall by Stewart that creates the twoon one
and a smart move by Tal. A difficult decision. He didn’t have a one-time shot at the other end. So
simplify your game. An absolute perfectly placed shot up and over the elbow of Chris Osgood. And
too many times, Jim, you try to make a fancy play. Instead, he knows he’s got a guy going to the
net instead of trying to pass through anybody.   Second of the game, his eighth of the play out.
Set up by Kunit and Scary. Two nothing. No Cosby in the game. Malin has one point. Here’s Rosski
to Nick Linster. off the inboards in Tisley. Hos is there trying to track down the puck. He’s got
Belter with it. Watch the Red Wings try and pick   it up here now and get at least one before the
end of the period. Rafolski holds the puck in. Nicholas Lstrom slap pass. Nobody can tip it. Cons
of the net. Dula tipped it right on. Rebound’s got that. He’s down low and Ken’s got the puck. Here’s
Lstrom. Brian Rolski back for Nick Lindstrom. Bula screening. Shot is off the inboards again taken
by Latang and clear. That’s the push you would expect from Detroit after giving up the second
goal. Once again, Flurry does an excellent job   of just battling through traffic, finding that
loose puck and Phil had a couple of whacks at it, but with those pads down in a perfect
butterfly, no chance at all to find room. Here’s Latang out of his own zone for Pittsburgh.
Here Shatan playing with Aenny Malin. Here’s Shatan. Malcolm Dupree races to the net. Malin
lost control of the puck. Venberg up the boards. Kavatuk is back with him. Dan Curry is up there
as well. And it’s Curry who is just offside. We’ve got to get focused and find some energy
to get back in this hockey game. Red Wings get the draw. Here’s Dan Curry. Reach of fuel got
him but center was there to help out. He over speeded the puck and here comes Malta. Amiro
Shatan with him and Lucan going to take him. Osgood plays the puck. Nicholas Conwell didn’t see
anything he likes when he went back the other way.   Stewart up the board just about gave it away to
Malton. Here’s Darren Helm here trying to center. Can’t do it. Three Red Wings are below the goal
line. Jennifer threw the puck at the net. It hit   the goalender. Cornwall with a shot. Fearlessly
blocked by Miro Shatan and he got a quick whistle here as the puck went up in the air and tap shot
to get through and neither of those two are known   as not exactly for that are for Flamingo has been
blocking. Here’s Darren Helms traveling after the puck is centering pass. Samuelson can’t find
him. It was knocked away from him. Greg Adams   to center. Here’s Max Talbet again slotted in as
a third or fourth line player. He’s been playing with it. Kenny Malin and he has scored he’s a
46 goal scorer and junior at home and he’s got two monstrous goals here tonight. It’s amazing
what confidence he’ll give you too. You get that early one and everything goes into your mind.
Your legs feel looser, your hands feel great,   and all of a sudden you feel like you can do
anything. Here comes Chris Kunis. Haron is with him. He threw the puck towards the net. Haron
tracks it down along the boards. Kunis turns, takes the shot. That was blocked by Leba.
Now it’s the Red Wings who can’t seem to   do anything they want. They need an energy
shift. They need to get banging some bodies and taking a page out of the Penguins. How they
were able to get themselves going, get pucks in   deep and start hitting. There’s Jonathan Erikson.
weaves into the attacking zone, but Chris Kraper coming off the bench was inches offside more
than ever. The Red Wings need his production. Tyler Kennedy, Max Talbot, Matt Cook take a
shift together here as Pittsburgh’s lines are   jumbled without Sydney Crosby who still hasn’t
returned to the bench. Here’s Brian Rafolster. Great outlet pass. Pavatu Danny Cury with it. He
gets the puck deep and tries to get by Koncha. And Cook comes back to help out. Tyler Kennedy
back the other way. Cury jumps in and gets the   puck. Centerberg’s out front. So is Dad Sue. Curi
can’t hit it. Zerberg up the boards. Livingston had a bouncing puck and there’s been a lot of
that on a warm day and the ice isn’t great. Zerberg trying to jump in, intercept a clearing
attempt and couldn’t do it. Turn to that suit. pace right now that has slowed favors the team
with the lead. Red Wings can’t get any jump going. I think I watching Pavatuk out there
too. You remember this is just his third game   back and to me he looks like he’s laboring a bit.
Doesn’t seem to have that jump and that ability to stop and start like he does so effectively
when he’s playing well. Falcon to Fideno stays on here with Fideno. Craig Adams
takes the shift with him and he pursues Nicholas Conwall who’s back for the Red
Wings. He’s in some trouble. Extricates   himself and got the puck ahead to Marian
Hosa. It could get up and hurry up to meet the puck. Knocked down on the glass by
Fenet. Ahead to Mulan and the Penguins   get out. Now they’ll try to get to the
intermission with a two nothing lead intact. Brad Stewart over the blue line has turned back.
Here’s Mark Eaten looking for Malcolm along the boards. Gino’s checked by Stewart. Fedeno comes
over. The pass comes back to Nick Conwell. Jim, this is the challenge when you’re a puck
possession team like the Red Wings are.   When you need to come back, they don’t dump
and chase. And we’ve seen so many times they get caught at the blue line here, they stand
up and a turnover like that or an offside.   At times you have to get the puck in deep.
You have to get some energy shifts and they haven’t been able to do it yet. Samson with a
hot shot on net and no rebound. That’s what he   wanted for Darren Helm who was speaking to
the net. Draper and Kudix on the draw. Fler got the puck to Lston. They slap pass. Hit
escape. Lolski with another hard pass at the   side of the net. Fler battling Cudence. Now
they’re both down. Paper standing over them. Donar comes out of that scum with a puck
off the boards. Good work to fight the   puck out by Bill Garren, but a turnover and
back comes Chris Trafer. Maltby goes to the net. There’s the shot. It’s blocked before
it got through by Orin. And then a picked   off pass by Jordan Stall and he’s racing
after the puck. Poked away by Litman. So Stall couldn’t get to it. He did on the
end boards though. Rays it back. The shot   off the wing. Adams went wide to the net.
How Gill holds the puck in. Mirro Shatan Adams in to help him. Cal Gil with a wrist shot
that floats wide to the net. Hoodler off the boards and out to Kirk Malty. Adams comes back.
He and Malty battle here and Max Talba takes the puck out of his own to Adams. Penguins haven’t
had much trouble getting out. That was a tip all the way down the ice. Erikson’s back and
it’s an icing call against Pittsburgh. They   won’t be able to change. Not to assume, but
didn’t look like he’d be returned. There’s a big face out after an icing called towal but
stays on. Got some help from Craig Adams to win the draw. Ben hold the puck soup to Zer. He
shoots and deflected to the end boards. Medigan offer who was screening in front. Here’s Nick
Lstrom. Screen shot deflected and Curry’s got it. You just knew that if Detroit could get the puck
off that face up, they’d attack with all of the   players they sent on in the icing call. Well,
Jim, they’ve scored two goals off of icings earlier in the series where they were able
to get a tired Pittsburgh team. A good pinch,   but watch Flurry fight through. Clearly
ends up hitting it with his knee, but then he gets back up, gets in position,
and somehow finds that puck through a maze of bodies. Unable to hold on to give
the Pittsburgh Penguins that change. Missing Crosby, their best
faceoff man. He’s over 50%.   They don’t have anybody else in that category. And came in and scrambled the draw. Won
it with his feet. Here’s Brian Rosski. Bronson gets the puck in. Pilka will race in after
it. Hosas coming in with it. Pushed down by Goter, but Hosas there to get the puck. Livingstrom. His
slap shot is deflected wide to the net by Falcon takes a hit along the boards. Benitanker
trying to help him. Can’t get it out.   Johan Crown and Hosa shoots that’s deflected
wide. Linster with a shot. Murray with the save. Rebound to the blue line. Not out.
Wowski held it in. A pass by Linster. He   got it and shot it into the corner after
it was tipped and deflected right at him. Noan Browns is back. Red Wings already really
bringing their defenseman into the action here. Trying to get close. Here’s a chance for Frzen.
He shoots. He doesn’t know where the puck is. It got by him. Darren Helm along the boards.
He thought maybe he had it in his equipment, but he didn’t. Hoodler. Cornwall shoots just wide
of the net. Now the Red Wings have really picked it up. Here’s paddling hard with Helm. Hler’s
in there as well. And the Penguins get a hold of the puck. Chris Punich dumps it in. Stewart’s
the first man back. So much more net presence in front of Flurry on the last three shifts by
the Red Wings. They’re getting that to that   shoot the puck from everywhere, get bodies in
front. That last shot Furry never even saw. And the Red Wings need more of that. A
long pass at center tipped by Michael   Samuelson line for Flurry who
couldn’t get a bounce in this building in the first two games
and got a fortunate one there. Here they come again. Babatou swept away from
him. They’ve got centerber and ferry with it. Lster and Rafolski are playing a lot now. Datu
twists and turns trying to lose tal from the blue line tried to keep the puck and it bounced
to that suit. Rafolski side of the net. Back hand shot by Zedterberg is kicked out by Flurry just
as the buzzer sounds to end the second period. Another big save for Flurry. And this is a tough
play for Zederberg cuz he’s on his backhand. If   that’s a right-handed shot, that one might have
been in the back of the net. Flurry able to read it, get across quickly. And you know that
they’ll be attacking the Penguins. And so the third period of game seven from Detroit is
underway with Pittsburgh leading 10 to nothing. Holmes from gets the bug deep. He’s out here with
Pavl Datsuk and Marian Hosa in a different line to start this period. That souk protects the
puck from Donchar. Hosa threw it to the net. Curry made a save. How that souk again. Again
pursued by Kchar. Just about got away from it. Gordon Stall back defensively battling there with
Holstrom. Got the puck to Kchar. He got it out to center. So obviously with offense needed, Mike
Babcock feels that he has to get Marian Hosley going and the way to do that is put him back with
Vatu. Keep in his own zone cool. had the buck swept away. Rohan Fronen leads it in the corner.
No teammates are there. They’re on a change. So, the Penguins should be able to get out
of their own zone. Donar advanced the puck through a crowd. There’s Brad Stewart.
Nicholas Cornwall. Satan comes straight at him. He’s got Ponchar with him and Rousan fed
to take him. I wonder how careful Pittsburgh will play with this lead. Here’s Danny Cury
trying to get to the net. He’s with Bronson and Zedterberg now. Stewart for Zetterberg and
he tips the puck in deep. He goes after Skider. Rohan Fron turns away from Hal Gil. Turns
back into the corner. Can’t center it. Rosan Fedeno collapses back, gets the puck to
the blue line, and Stewart stopped it once,   but not the second time. Terry moves back
to the attack again with Zedterberg along the boards trying to move the puck to Zedterberg.
He couldn’t get it there and Fedco cut it off and   sends it to center. Both teams need a change here.
Two minutes into the third. There’s Fron shift in with Filula turned back a race for the puck and
Jonathan Erikson easily gets there to Fila just on side. He turns in the neutral zone and is back in.
Valter Brett Lebson is there. So is Yuri Hoodler. This is a different looking line. They’ve all been
juggled by Detroit. Hoodler and Samson. Now Fila comes up with a puck to Jonathan Ericson. His slap
shot is stopped by Flurry and sent to the corner. Pilka bumps hard with Tyler Kennedy. Michael
Samson is there. Mark Eaton’s all over him. How poked the puck back for his defenders
to try and get it out. There’s a penalty   coming up. He was going to come out. Red Wings
draw. Litstrom fires the shot. Try to ricochet, but it went wide to the net. They’re on the power
play for the second time. Holstrom battles hard.   Can’t get the puck. Scary can’t quite clear
it, but he did get it outside the blue line as Rafolki knocked it down. Back in comes Pavl
Datsu. Holstrom heads for the front of the net. Now in behind it where the puck goes. Marian Hosa
along the boards for Thomas Holstrom. Back to Hosa and to the blue line. Brian Rafolski has Lstrom
on the other side. Holstrom sets up the screen.   Hosa shoots. Just missed the net. That soup to
Lindstrom. What a battle going on in front of the net. Rafolski to Lindstöm to paddle. Dad
soup. His backer gets it back to his forehand. Passes off. Hosa shoots. That’s blocked. Leolski
shoots. That’s blocked in front of it. Holstrom’s right downski again. Holstrom’s back out. Mstrom
fakes the shot. Takes the shot. Flurry made the save after fighting off Thomas Holmstrom. He
chopped at him. Samuelson back in the points. Centerberg is up front. Here’s got Hler and Conson
with it. Nicholas Conwell into the attacking zone. Centerberg to the wing. A hot shot missed the
net from Yuri Hoodler. And because he was at   that angle, the puck comes all the way down
into the point zone. Michael Samuelson is back. Good point to save. Passes out of the
reach of Hoodler. He’ll chase after   it. Or pick gets back through the puck
up the boards. They’ve got a Pittsburgh bounce and Tal sends it all the way down the ice. Brian Rapolski back on with Lynch. Another
pass missed and that sends the Red Wings   back and that’ll just about do it in the penalty.
Yeah, great aggressive penalty kill again by the Penguins. Now they need to just focus five on five
of keeping the energy, getting the pucks deep and don’t change a thing. You can’t just sit back and
hope to defend the last 15 and a half. Penalty’s over. Eaton’s back on 4 and 1/2 minutes into
the period. Sydney Crosby hasn’t budged from the Getty Malin is now with Mio Chatan Penet.
Nicholas Linster straight up the middle. Draper tipped the puck by Orphan. Backhand shot
into the corner. Here’s Kirk Malty after the puck to Draper. They’re playing with Taran Helm now.
One of Energy, a lot of great skaters in this   line. The Tang up the boards. Penet battles hard
against Erikson. Can’t get the puck out. Matang will try again. Now he’s got a little space.
Red Wings back off. They won’t flush him out. Here’s Brooks or along the boards defended. He
chopped at the puck and got it in deep. And the Penguins change again. Out of his own zone. Brad
Stewart. Valeri Filka trying to do it himself. Needed help from Stewart into the attacking zone.
Here’s Val Fila. turns along the board. Samuelson with him. So is Yuri Hoodler. Bill does it
himself. Nobody out front to pass through.   Hoodler’s in his hip pocket for the blue line.
Stewart awaited the puck. Yet Penguins right there and they’re able to clear the puck to
center. Stewart again advances the puck. Phil   with Hoodler gets into the attack. Samuelson comes
up late and heads for the net. So does Stewart who fires a shot and it bounced off a body and then
wide to the net. Along the boards the Penguin Jordan Stall can’t get the puck out. held in Fler
for Samson. Overcomes Gonchar hard up the boards. Fukula holds the puck in watched by Pascal Dwee.
Turns back can’t get position on Dwee and Jordan Stall gets the puck. Good missed the puck at
center ice. Eaton’s able to dump it in. There’s a change underway for Pittsburgh. Matt Cook gets
into the four check. This is what Pittsburgh needs   to continue now that they’re back to five on
five. There’s Max Talbot aggressively to the boards. Pavatsuk though got the puck. Holstrom
goes to the net. That souk taken out of the play by Brooks Hort. Battle along the boards.
Karen is there. Kosa can’t get his stick free. The shot from the point. Raised the post and
came right back out in front. Let’s hang off   the boards. The center for Garren Leb comes
over to take the puck. And you know exactly where 96 is going to be. Every time he’s on the
ice, he’s right in the kitchen of Flurry trying   to get at least some traffic to get a lucky one.
There’s Kenny Malin. But there still hasn’t been a lot of sustained pressure by Detroit except
for the early part of the power play. Yeah,   just try to continually make plays, chip it out,
get it deep like that, force the Detroit Red Wings to go 200 feet as many times as they can. They’ll
get caught, they’ll get tired, take it icing cold, and short shifts for everybody. Absolutely. Look
at how quickly they’re changing the D. Don’t want   to get caught on an extended pressure and get
dead tired. Here’s Johan Johnson with Perry and Zedterberg. Perry has the puck. Zerberg comes
over in support. Fury goes to the front of the net. Zerberg on his back hand to Nicholstrom. This
fires the puck off the lively boards and back foot is Tyler Kennedy made a play to Max Talbot and
back and between the two of them. to get the puck to center. Nero Satan struggled ahead. Here’s
Talbot. He’s already got two. This time check by Nicholson. Max Talbot has both goals in the second
period for Pittsburgh. His seventh and eighth, but the Stanley Cup playoffs. Turning up ice is
Michael Samson. Chila couldn’t take the pass. Here comes Tyler Kennedy back the other way. And
again, short chips get the puck deep and change. Look at the clock just continues to turn. This is
perfect for the Penguins. No sustained pressure, lots of play, no whistle. There’s
Samuelson for it and back to Jonathan Ericson. Channels the puck in. Made it
pass to Hoodler. It’s a rough ride for Warp again to Brett Lea. Screen shot tipped
by a penguin and then wided it in. Falcon couldn’t fight through the puck. Erikson
to Hoodler. Back to Jonathan Erikson. Walks it   in. Shoots through. He made the save. Rebound
is loose. They battle away for the puck and the Penguins get it and get it by Lebanon out.
Here comes Kenny. Malin barreling down the right wing. Ericson came over to meet him. Malin fights
him off. Waits for fresh teammates to arrive and keeps the puck in deep. Matt Cook is there. He’s
got Craig Adams with him. Cook works feverishly out of the corner to the blue line and Rob
Scader. Indeed, the puck comes around to Max Tal, but he couldn’t control it. Red Wings can’t get
out. Turned over and Chris Osgood finally stops play. But the clock works against the Red Wings.
Just 10:25 left to go in the third. Brooks Orin stepping up in the third period. Seven to let you
know. He won the draw. He made him take his first shift to the faceoff in the attacking zone. Mark
Eaton holds the pucker. Shaw high and wide off the stick of Craig Adams. Bill Garren on this forward
line as well. Here’s Mary and Hosa for the Red   Wings out to center. Crosby’s back defensively.
Goodman drives wide on Latang. Can’t get to the net. Hooked away by Furry and Chris Latang
had a huge game. Gets the puck out to center. Crosby now completes his shift and heads to the
bench. Not your typical intense Crosby shift, but nonetheless, he made it through. And I’m sure
for Dan Biles, his heart was pumping that entire shift. Don’t get caught. Don’t get an icing where
I have to keep you out there when you’re fatigued   and sore. Just four shots in the third period for
Detroit. None for Pittsburgh, but they have the lead. Clearary, Fronen, and Zetterberg are in deep
for the Red Wings. Centerber looking back for the blue line. Clear and Fron went to the net now to
the boards after the puck. Hal tried to clear the puck. Stewart kept it in. Pan clear centering
pass. Bronson’s there. His stick is tied up by Sergey Gonchar. Out to center to take it. Makes
the smart play. Dumps the puck deep. Great play by Gonchar. Jimmy didn’t panic and overplay
it and even take a penalty. He knew he had   good positioning and just stayed with it. Nine
minutes to go in the third period. Two nothing Pittsburgh. Stanley Cup final game seven. Brad
Stewart deep in his own zone. Now Terry Dupula to Nicholas Cromwell. Michael Samuelson his pass.
Dupula shoots off the stick of Jordan Stall and you don’t want to sacrifice your team. Also won
the face off. Lster put the puck up the inboards. It bounces to the front of the net again. There’s
those lively boards that really haven’t come into   play tonight. Matt Cook advances the puck. Osgood
out to meet it. Brian Lolski to an open wing. Hosa has to turn back to get the puck. Craig Adams
forced into the middle of the ice with the absence of Sydney Crosby playing a lot of center here in
the back half of the game as Hosen moves in on   net. Big rebound. Hol can’t get there. Chopped
out by Cook and he got the puck to center for bouncing puck from Marian Hol. Eight minutes to go in the third period. Two
nothing Pittsburgh on the night the Stanley Cup will be presented. Here’s Johan Fronzen taken
away by Dwee. Held in. A bouncing puck. Dan Quiry settles it down into the slot. Fronzen shot was
blocked. Another shot by Stewart. Deflected wide to the net. Johnar off the boards. Pascal Dri out
to center just out of the reach of Bill Garrett. Nicholas Conwall. Henrik Zedterberg got by Bill
Garrett into the attacking zone across the ice. Here’s Danny Cleary. takes the pass too hot
to handle for Fronen. Here he battles to the front of the net. Jordan Stall took the puck away
from Fronen over the head of Stewart. He had no   idea where the puck was and he started the race
late but Cornwall got back. He saw the puck. His partner didn’t. Here’s Terry again and on Chris
Latang. They both go down and Malin is back for the puck. Battles it up the boards. Feno gets
it out. Chhatan races over to get it. Twoon one. Feno to the net just out of his reach. Out at
center, Mark Eaton awaits the arrival of the puck and dumps it right back in again for Pittsburgh.
Under seven minutes to go in the third periods forced to turn back. Off the boards to Yuri
Hoodler Samuelson’s one-time. He fanned on it. A bouncing puck back to the slot. Cleared away
by Max Talbot. Hero Satan got the puck up the boards. Litstrom held it in as he so often does.
Samuelson with Whitner in front. Milka breaking the front of the net. The pass hit the skate
of Matang. Hila takes over. There’s a screen   in front. Liter takes the shot. Tipped in the air
and wide to the net. Battling again as Talbot up the boards. Can’t get the puck out. The Rings
keep the pressure on. Yuri Huther turns back   into traffic for Nick Litstrom. On the other
side, he scores. Ericson. Jonathan Ericson. [Music] [Music] The legs are burning, the lungs are aching,
and the Penguin’s just trying to hold on. And a cross ice pass that Furry just misreads
a knuckler a bit. Maybe it might have hit the penguin forward, but this is one that he
went out high and it went underneath his arm. Hold on to your Winstrom and Hoodler get
the assists. Now Jonathan Ericson’s goal, his fourth of the playoffs. And here
they come again. Marian Hoses came back   at the blue line. Ericson fell down. Tyler Kenns
intercepted and cleared away by Nicholas Conway. That’s who plays the puck out. Five and a half
anxious minutes to go in the third period. Both teams are chasing. Erikson quickly out of his own
zone. Centerberg Johan Frzen to the net. Deflected just wide to the goal. Centerberg held the bucket.
Here’s Danny Q up the boards. Lynchman is offside. Tipped in front of the net by Zerberg. Just wide
to the goal. Now the storm is coming from the Red Wings. Zerberg turns falls trying to get back
up again. Cook knocked the puck up the boards. Shorten stall starts out to center. And he’s got
Bill Karen with him as he dumps the puck in. First man back. Karen’s right on him. Ma Bronzo can’t
quite get by Malin who battle hard. One open wing. Max Talbbert. Everyone is standing. 21,000
at the chill. Two nothing Pittsburgh. Bouncing puck to center. Here’s Vary. Yuri Hnerler behind
him takes the shot. Deflected wide to the net into the corner off the boards. Talba takes a hit.
Got the puck to save. Crawl to Stewart in the reference time trying back in turned back by
Rousan Fenko. Stewart to Crowall. Intercepted. Here’s Ed Kenny Malin. He shoots. Osgood makes the
save. Rebound is right there. And Hler comes back to get it. There’s Michael Samson back to center.
He’s got four with him going wide. Hoodler coming up late. Dumps the puck in deep. Erie Hoodler
bumped and knocked down. It’s Orick again, but Kirka got the puck. Cromwell holds the puck
in. Good play into the slot all the way over to Lolski. He shoots. Blocked before it got through.
Tyler Kennedy up the board. Desperately after the puck. Chris now. He’ll kill some time. Under
four minutes to go in the third period. Jordan Stall has the puck in trying to make sure it stays
along the board. working across. Red Wings get out to center. Paddle Datuk is there. Marian Hosa is
right with him, but they’re turned back. Linster, he’ll barely leave the ice here in the dying
minutes of this game. Holster heads to the net.   The pass. It’s a rolling puck on bad ice and got
the draw back and the Penguins get the puck and Craig Adams gets it out over his own blue line
to center it. Fenet gets it deep. Osgood awaits it. putting around on the boards, but there’s
Max Talbet to hold it in the lets it go. Craig   Adams steps in for Pittsburgh. This is where they
want to keep the Red Wings. Three minutes to go. Third period, 2-1 Pittsburgh. Rohan Fronzen
and Centerberg can’t get out of his own zone. Good to Franen with Cury and Centerberg. The
shooting knocked out of the air by Hal Gil, but he fumbled the puck. Scaderi to the open
side racing is Cromwell and he holds the puck in for the Red Wings. Fuel staples Zedberg to
the boards finds and comes in to help. Nowhere to go. Tony Stall steps in for Pittsburgh.
Get some help from Scary here as they hook the puck loose along the boards. Working
inch by inch trying to get it out. Johnson to the blue line. Here’s Nicholas Crowell.
Shoots and it hit the crossbar up high and off the crossbar and a close call. It was almost 2-2.
What a play by Cromwell. Just quick feet jumped into the hole and that one just fooled Flurry as
well. Here they come again. Add Stewart to the blue line. Hosa gets the puck deep. Mark Eaton is
back. Sergey Kchar fights along the boards. Can’t get out. Stewart held the line. Pyat Soup has the
puck. Marian Hosa with him. Valid has come on with him as well. Pushing down the boards. Lolski
trying to hold the puck in and he does for a moment. Gets some help from Datu and Eaton clears
the puck to center. A minute and a half to go in the third period. 2-1 Pittsburgh. Eaton steps
in. Penguins desperately get the puck to center. Osgood looking towards the bench. Anxious wanting
to leave. Here comes Dula. He shoots. Another fluffering puck got up in the air off the stick
of Philula and out of play with 117 to go. Elski and Lstrom on the ice as well. They gang the puck
and win the draw. Nicholas Lston along the boards wrapped up by Hal Gil. That shoot couldn’t get the
puck. Chipped out by Max Talbot. Greg Adams with an open net to shoot at. Took a took a go at it.
Lynch knocked the puck down. We’re into the last minute of the third period. Game seven. In come
the Red Wings. Zindberg to the net. Picked off.   Scaderi just off the glass and out. Ryan Rolski
is back for the puck. Johan Fson. Danny Cury goes after the puck. Scary comes straight in. Pating
around looking for a loose puck. The Penguins battle again and with it. Stall to Adams and out.
As Zederberg moves back in. And the Red Wings are offside with 32 seconds to go. Zedterberg gets
the draw quickly. They move the puck over to Hoser. Breaks it in the right wing. Took a shot
off the end of Curry’s draw. Holstrom is after   the puck. Desperately the Red Wings are trying
to come up with it, but the puck is under Brooks Orpick and he gets a whistle with 6.5 seconds
to go. Jordan Stall, Henrik Sitterberg again. Scrambled draw comes to the point.
Rafolski shoots knocked down in the   man. Scramble lifts and shoots. And a
tremendous save by Furry. They’ve done it. The Penguins have done it. Sydney Crosby
and the Penguins have won the Stanley Cup. Look at [Applause] A fantastic save as the seconds ticked off
the clock. Mark Andre Flurry had his finest game. Sydney Crosby had to watch in anguish
from the bench and the Penguins held off the attack of the Red Wings. Nick Litstrom had the
tie on his stick. With every ounce of energy, Flurry throws his body across and somehow makes
the save. the agony and the ecstasy of game seven. The handshake at the end of the stone greatest
traditions in all of sport of a fight. Sydney Crosby, you will be the youngest captain
to hoist the Stanley Cup. Congratulations. The ice in the dying seconds
against the best players as Mark Andre Flurry hoists the
cup to the cheers of his teammate.
