INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Belmont women’s golf team is in seventh place after day one of the Butler Fall Invitational held Monday at Highland Country Club in Indianapolis.
Belmont carded rounds of 301 and 296 on Monday to finish the day in seventh place at 597. Marian (IN) has the team lead at 571, with host Butler in second at 581.
Two Bruins are among the top-20 after 36 holes. Sophomore Sloane Biddle is tied for 10th place at 145. She shot rounds of 74 and 71. Biddle is 10 strokes back of the individual leader, Kylee Heidemann of Dayton (135).
Junior Paige Hammarstrom is three back of Biddle and in a tie for 19th place at 148. She posted rounds of 76 and 72.
Other Belmont scores from day one included: freshman Lauren Davis (T-44, 153), graduate student Chloe Tarkany (T-54, 154), and sophomore Harper Edwards (T-61, 156).
Davis replaced Sophie Skoog in the lineup after she withdrew prior to the first round due to illness.
