ASHEBORO, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb women’s golf team concluded the Tot Hill Farm Invitational with an 11th place finished after a combined two-day total of 635 (+59). The tournament was cut short due to weather as the golfers played 36 holes instead of the originally scheduled 54 holes.
Senior Georgia Barr paced the Runnin’ Bulldogs with a 24th place finish after rounds of 75 (+3) and 79 (+7), respectively. Sophomore Eva Bulger fired an opening round score of 80 (+8) before picking up five strokes over the final 18, concluding her tournament with a 75 (+3).
Freshman Elle Overly jumped 15 spots on day two after turning in a 74 (+2) in the final round, a 10-stroke improvement from day one. Senior Katelyn Griggs and junior Julia Buchgeher rounded out the golfers for GWU, carding two-day totals of 168 (+24) and 178 (+34), respectively.
Gardner-Webb returns to the links on October 6-7, traveling to Greeneville, N.C. to take part in the Pirate Collegiate Classic hosted by East Carolina University.
