The 2025 Ryder Cup is the 45th edition and runs between September 25 – September 28. Luke Donald is the European Team Captain and Keegan Bradley is the U.S. Team Captain. The European Team are the reigning champion after winning 16 ½ – 11 ½ at Marco Simone in 2023. Every two years, 24 of the best players from Europe and the United States go head-to-head in match play competition. Drama, tension, incredible golf, camaraderie and sportsmanship are served in equal measure, captivating an audience of millions around the world. It’s an event that transcends sport, yet remains true to the spirit of its founder, Samuel Ryder.

[Applause] Algo got to go three times, didn’t he, Sam? But he lost the first two and then finally got the victory and we forced him to come back for the third one cuz he deserved it. He deserved the win. He was a great captain and he got it 95. Okay. So, how do you reflect on Luke Donald’s captaincy perhaps not just over this one over these two rider cups? quite the fact every every practice and everything you see about him has been worth an absolute gentleman and I think team Europe are about to receive their prize and celebrate this famous victory on US soil. Well, good evening everybody. Good evening everybody. Good evening and welcome to this group presentation for the 45th RDER Cup here at Best Paige Black in New York. The European team have won their first RDER Cup in the United States since 2012. And they have done so in record-breaking fashion, winning four of the five sessions for the first time on foreign soil since 1979. Let’s hear it for the European Rider Cup team and then captain Luke Donald. Luke, that got kind of close. Uh, probably a little closer than you maybe expected and a few people watching. How were your nerves this afternoon as you watch red after red clock on that leaderboard? Uh, it’s probably the most stressful 12 hours of my life. Um, and I must congratulate team US and and Captain Keegan for the amazing job they did in fight and the fight they showed. It was incredible. But, um, we got it done and that’s the most important thing. Um, I couldn’t be more proud of these guys. They gave everything. They gave it all. And, uh, to win in New York said probably couldn’t be done, but we did it. you did and you’re a big part of that and so is every single one of these 12 men. But let’s hear a word for Shane and what he did on the 18th green to claim that half point to retain the cup for the European team. Shane is a legend. Honestly, just so proud of each and every one of them. But you know, Shane, that part was dead center right at the end. Dead center. Luke, the motto this week was our time, our place. Can you tell all of us right now what those four words mean now that you’ve won the RDER Cup once again? We’d only won four away Ryder Cups. Our mission was to come here and win five. Only 37 players had ever won away. Now we have 47. This is for Europe. This is for the legends that came before us and this is for the future generations that’ll be talking about this team for a long time. Lastly, this team, you mentioned it, just the fifth team ever to win an away Rder Cup. You yourself, Luke, are a legend. You’ve joined Tony Jacquine as the only Rder Cup captains to win home and away. You have left no stone unturned in this preparation. Can you now tell us what is your secret? Having a great team. That’s the secret. [Applause] I don’t think my heart can take two more years. [Applause] So, that’s enough. We’ll see. We’ll see. Okay, you heard it here first. It’s hard to hear. So, we’re going to move on because this is a very boisterous crowd. There are certainly some European fans in New York. I’m now going to turn the microphone to the president of the PG of America, Don Ray Jr., to say a few words. Congratulations, team Europe. You’ve retained the 45th RDER Cup. Congrats. Heat. Heat. [Applause] And so the party begins. That’ll be center attention. That little gold trophy on the team hotel tonight. Started with nice little celebration. gives a great work to it. Beautiful goal there. Only one of the Europeans to win this Sunday singles match Rasmus. I think we’ll see him again at some point from the rider along with brother Nikolai. That’ll be their mission won’t it for Adair Man both girls in the team. Strao was strong to Gotcha. He’s a tight European golf. Victor Havlin, Sora Neck and all the Matt Fitzpatrick. Well done him. He has really found his place now, hasn’t he? In his fourth Ryder Cup. More, no doubt about it, the team leader. They all look up to him. Grand slam champion. What a way to cap off your year as well. The year of his life, wasn’t it? The grand slam and now the away rider cup win that he talked about so much. It’s been epic. Fabulous support. Fabulous support as always.
