Jordan was an assassin. It was a different level. He was an absolute different level. Down, man. I’m at 357. I just It was hands down, Mike. Wasn’t close. No. My goodness. Hell no. You want to know why Michael Jordan was impossible to stop? It wasn’t just a points though, guy. He knows he gave you 30 a night like it was a warm-up. It was the fact that he came at you like a storm that never let up. Relentless, precise, personal. He wasn’t playing basketball. He was dissecting it. every moment, every pivot, every fadeaway, calculated. And the crazy part, you could know what he’s about to do, and it didn’t matter. He would tell you baseline, fade, and you still couldn’t stop it. You would throw your best defender at him, sometimes two or three, and would still find a way to make you look like you didn’t belong on the same floor. Jordan didn’t just beat you with skill, he beat you with will. That killer instinct, the desire not just to win, but to dominate, made him lethal. He could drop 50 on you and still be pissed if you miss a free throw in the third quarter. That’s what separated him. And don’t get it twisted, he did it against real defense. No freedom of movement rules, no soft whistles, hand checks, elbows. The paint was a war zone back then. And Jordan walked through it like a king through enemy territory. But the scariest part, he got better when the moment got bigger. Playoffs, finals, that’s when he’s at his most vicious. He didn’t just rise to the occasion, he owned the occasion. Couldn’t stop Michael Jordan because he didn’t believe in being stopped. And when a man that gifted, that intelligent, that obsessed with greatness, refuses to accept defeat, all you can do is pray he lets up. But he never did. Now, don’t just take my word for it. Let’s hear from the legends and players themselves, explaining why Michael Jordan was impossible to stop. What was different when you played a game against him and the Bulls? I can only speak for myself. I can’t speak for Max. There was no weaknesses. Try to force him left. You try to force him right. You try to top lock him. You try to hold. You try to be physical with him. I I I equate it to like this. It was like, and maybe this is how sinners feel when they were going against Shaq. He was Shaq of shooting guards. I don’t care. There was no way you could get around him in front of him. He was just too strong. And then he had a 48 inch vertical. So there you were never blocking his shot. I got a 50 [ __ ] And he could stop on a dime, his handles, and then he held uh the ball like it was a like a orange. So he’s taunting you, holding the ball on your face. The tongue is all out and [ __ ] and chewing the [ __ ] gum and all that [ __ ] And then you come down the black eyes are looking at you and I’m looking right back at you. Yeah, [ __ ] I ain’t going anywhere. And he’s looking at you and man, no weaknesses. None. Zero. I could look I I love T. I I’m watching. I’m always trying to find a tail and I found the tail on everyone. Not him. I could not find a tail. Not one. Damn. Like, okay, if he goes left x amount of times, what what is his percentages? Great. Right. Great. Step back. Great. Greater. Great rebounding. Great passing. Great. You can’t punk them. I’m I’m trying to find something. So, it’s almost like [ __ ] by committee. Derek, come on. I mean, we got to get some help down this [ __ ] Come on. Come on now. Don’t be I’ve been calling [ __ ] Come on now. This [ __ ] You too proud to beg. That’s what I’m tired. The toughest shot in basketball. Who was the first person when you got to the league to bust your ass? Y’all know that mother. It it Bud. I didn’t know it was him. Straight Bud. I want to hear the story. Yeah, I was talking to him in preeason. You know, I didn’t know that they don’t play in preseason, right? So, I’m killing him. Had about 21. He play about seven, eight minutes. Then all of a sudden, we got to play him in the first game of the regular season. He come to Seattle. First thing he get on the floor, he was like, “Pip Armstrong, the young young fella m he mine all night. Let me bust his ass all night and he’s like, “This ain’t pre-season.” You know what I’m saying? Man, he remembered it, man. And then all of a sudden, man, I get quick two fouls, man. With four in four minutes, man. I sit down, man. I’m got 357 10. I’m over there with no chewing gum. Chewing that gum looking at me like after the game, he was like, “Welcome to the NBA.” [Laughter] He then he was that good like like that just you know just on a different level man. What’s the scouting report of Jordan? What did you try to get Jordan to do? Um try to get him drive left as much as possible. Try to uh maybe strip him before he gets up airborne. Um the scout report, I don’t know. I didn’t put a whole lot into scouting reports because it wasn’t like he was going to come out and do the same thing. Like, like I said, I and he’s just a different level. Um, and I listen, let I’ll say this to you, Dan. There were nights that on the court that he would he would do something so incredible. And my thing was to never show any emotion one way or the other, whether he did something great or not. But I can tell you many of nights I ran back down the court after he’s done something incredible. And internally I’m saying, “Are you effing kidding me?” I’m like I I in my mind I’m I’m like running like stoic, nothing on my face, but in my mind I’m saying there’s no damn way that guy just did that. What’s the difference? You play with him and you coach with Phil and and work with Kobe. What’s the difference between those two in your opinion? Right hand. Why? Because when Kobe would be going to the line to shoot two, MJ was going to shoot and M1. So a lot of them knocks that Kobe had to shoot with two hands. When that knock would happen, MJ put that bad boy over here. You know what I’m saying? That was over here. That that’s that to me is the the only difference is that gripper and that gripper only. Man, I’m telling you him and Dr. J them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them hands they come on bro you know what I’m saying it’s certain it’s certain and that’s the way you say like the creator knows who should have exactly exactly can’t question them you know what I’m saying what they what this is what you going to need to do what you got in your mind that you going to do and there it is go for it I was with MJ four and a half seasons or whatever lost a suicide never never lost a suicide that’s crazy never close. No. Look at J. That’s hard to believe, huh? Some days you [ __ ] I don’t feel like running. And we would ask Phil how many we got after practice and he would ask us how many we want because we knew he knew we was trying to get him. Mhm. Every So it would be So you try to bring him down. It would be like this. All right, me and BJ, we going to go out hard on it. Oh, y’all would team up on it? Oh, please. Soon as a whistle blow, soon as a whistle blow, he damn near coming back at us. But man, it wasn’t even it wasn’t even fair. There’s never a doubt at the end of any series that he was ever in who the best player in the world was. It was Michael Jordan. And you know, I don’t know who else that’s been. I don’t know what other player even comes close to, you know, being undefeated and being the best player in a playoff series every year. Did you enjoy your moments when you had to guard him as the ultimate challenge? The ultimate challenge. And if you did stop him, it was, you know, miracle. And if you didn’t, like, so what? Nobody guards him. And but I I remember a funny time in this 63-point game. And uh I got accu accused of doing this a little bit more than the coaches or my teammates would have liked, but um Walton fouls out guarding Jordan in an ISO and he’s screaming and cursing me out like quit switching. What guard your own man? This is Walton yelling you for switching switching with him. I just want you to be able to appreciate how hard it is. Well, Jordan’s going to go to the No, his numbers will definitely be inflated. We You thought James Harden got to the line a lot. Jordan would average 20 free throws probably every night. Um, you got to understand he would evolve into this era. You know, the Jordan that we saw young athletic get to the basket based on, you know, what we seen in this era, he would you would see a Jordan probably shooting more threes, too. So, he would definitely evolve. You know, he averaging 35 at one point. I could see him really pushing at the 40. I don’t know about 50, 60, but like, you know, mid 40s. I could see that possibly happening. Best player in the league when you first got in was who? Mike. And it wasn’t close. No, Mike was in his damn prime. When you first when you first saw him, what was what was your experience? No sleep the night before cuz I was like just anxious and nervous and ready, you know, cuz I know I was playing against the best player ever. Yeah. And you can get your ass embarrassed. Yeah. Cuz this [ __ ] put his feet on your throat and don’t take it off. He going to try to embarrass your ass. You get what I’m saying? So I had to get prepared for that part. And then And you played him in your rookie year. Yeah. And then when I got out there on the floor first, you know, I was coming off the bench behind Alvin Robinson, but I was still averaging 13 a night coming off the bench. And uh Alvin was out there on his ass. So I was like, “Okay, cool. I know they’re going to let Alvin guard this [ __ ] I ain’t really had to [ __ ] with him, you know. I go over there and [ __ ] with one of them little point guard [ __ ] and [ __ ] Yeah. But I wasn’t [ __ ] with him like that. But uh that’s what But when I when I played, he was so strong, fast, man. The [ __ ] He changed his game from he started learning how to post up and put his back to the basket. That’s when he was shimmer shaking on your ass and turn and shoot that mother. Oh my goodness. It was a wrap after that, man. But um yeah, just it was hands down. Mike wasn’t close. No. My goodness. Hell no. Well, I always looked at it like this when I guarded Michael Jordan. I’ve got nothing to lose. I wasn’t nervous because if he scored on me, it’s Michael Jordan. He’s done that to a lot of better players than myself. But if I defended him well and he missed a shot, I guess that was all because of the great defense. That’s just the way I viewed it. Uh here’s the first one. Michael squaring up at the top of the key. And you can see I’m giving him the appropriate amount of space here because you’re talking about the quickest guy I ever played against. and he’s normally going to jab step you and go one direction to the other. So I’m backed off a little bit. The problem here also the three-point line was shorter that year. So he’s already in three-point range. You know, it’ be about out here today, maybe beyond what he was capable of doing at the time. And so I feel like I’m in a good spot as he elevates to go up. I mean, I personally don’t think I could have timed that any better. That’s hand on hand. And he still gets it over the top. And you know where this is going to end up because it’s Michael Jordan makes it not demoralized. I felt like I did a pretty good job of that. And this is patented this next one. Michael Jordan in a low post and he’s going to hit you with the fake spin to the baseline. Always gets a reaction out of the defender and then he’s going to wheel back around and then he’s going to get vertical and all you can do is try to contest. And that’s what I did in this situation. Now here’s the problem. Michael Jordan took the elevator and I elected to take the stairs. And that’s a problem because now he’s got a free shot and he’s going to hit this little short turnaround jumper. But all things considered, I think I defended him about as well as I could. And I’m actually shocked based on those two contested shots. I was never nominated for defensive player of the year. Did you have a rivalry with Jordan when it came to scoring? I know there was this slam dunk contest, but did you feel like you were every bit as good, if not better than Jordan? Oh man, we had plenty rivals. Plenty rival. You know, Michael and all the guys I played against, probably the most fun guy to play against was Michael Jordan, man, cuz he he raised your level of play, intensity. Jordan was an assassin. He did something that I’ve never had anybody ever do that I’ve ever witnessed. So I think I had 57 in Atlanta and we had to go back Chicago a little while later and he walks into our locker room suit and tie and I’m like just some doing in our locker room you know like what’s going on here right I’m thinking maybe going to the training room right but he walks by me he walks by Kevin well he get to one of my teammates Randy Whitman he tapped him on the butt said lace him up it’s going to be a long night and I ain’t know what to say I’m shocked and he walks out right and I said where you tell that son of a [ __ ] Scotty, I’m going to kick his ass. I ain’t know what to say. I didn’t know what to say, you know. I’m just I just threw and cuz I’m in disbelief, you know. He had 60 that night. I’ve never had anybody do that. Come in our locker room like that. Jordan was a nightmare to go. Yeah, he was. He was. Uh we used to get scouting reports on certain guys and you look at scouting report and they say, “Well, you can take your right hand away, take your left hand away, push him this way, push him that way.” on him is it just like good luck. Yeah. So, he was he was special in that way. Yeah. Plus, he had a will like no other player that I ever played against. Certain guys I can get to mentally, but him I could never get to mentally. And believe me, I tried my best, but you know, he was that special player that you couldn’t break his will. You know, if anything, you just taking him to another level. He was a different level. He was an absolute different level. I can remember I can remember I was benched so we’re playing the Bulls. So um I never told this story. I was benched so we’re playing the Bulls. So I get a call the night before and we’ll play some cards and hang out whatever. Just chill. But I go into the city, go to Mike’s room, play cards. I’m not playing. I’m I know I’m benched. So I’m playing cards. I’m doing my job. I’m going to keep them up all night. We playing cards all night. So shoot around is at 10:00 in the morning. We finish playing at 8. I got to now drive before office so I’m not late. So I get no sleep. I drive to I drive to Sunni purchase practice facility. We practice game that night. I take a quick nap. Got to get hit the road. Game in the garden. I’m sitting on the bench. I am tired. I’m sitting there like that. This dude got 50. I’m like how is this dude still surviving? But but it’s he he did it he did it to everybody and every single night. He said I’m over here alone. I was I was empty over there. I was just doing whatever. You look tired over there, Mark. So guys, I hope you enjoyed the video and tell me what was your favorite clip and how many points you think Michael Jordan is averaging in today’s NBA. So make sure you like, share, subscribe, and until next time. [Music] Hey.

MJ was my hero growing up in the 80s & 90s
🐐
Could you imagine Maxwell as a NBA newscaster anchorman . He would be hilarious . I love listening to Maxwell ‘s commentary.. l never heard the word MFER said so much.
1:32 He is judging a low iq teammate for not doing something they’re supposed to do!
Today's NBA would break with a Prime MJ. They'd have to let players have sharp weapons.Maces, axes, knives, then they may have a chance/
Great video 👌🏼

MJ was a killer. So was prime Kobe.
If Kobe was alive RIP LeBron would of had a problem
Love these stories ❤
Can’t blame the youngins. We’ve never seen anyone like MJ.
Fav clip was when MJ was pegged by many as being an unsuccessful outside shooter, ok. So during the finals with Portlant, what does THE MAN DO! Eh, just sets a new record for most three pointers in the first half! And this is after he combines Scoring title, defense player of year, and MVP in the same year, goes and does that! C'MON Ya'll! GOAT topic is undoubtedly, undeniably, undisputable, and quite frankly RIDICULOUS to even consider another. So all Ya'll youngsters that don't know, listen to the podcasts with the greats that played him and watch as many clips of MJ as you can find. Cuz that is when you'll experience who the GOAT IS!
6:47 good Lord lol 🤣 that's insane
Just to put it in perspectives… Lebron broke Jordans 30pt game record in 2025 after playing 1500+ games. When Jordan set his record in just over 1000 games. So it took lebron "toolbag" james 500+ more games to break Jordans record!!!!! And it goes on amd on and on! KOBE IS FARRRR SUPERIOR TO LESTEROID JAMES!!!!! FACT
40 point games…. Jordan 173 in 15 seasons… Lebron 78 in 22 seasons!!!! Why are we insulting Jordan with that TURD Lesteroid James!!!! KOBE IS FAR SUPERIOR TO TOOLBAG JAMES!!! FACT
Sold His soul to be a Gay spunkmonkey, like the rest of them.
Nothing special.
He needs to bounce.
In all seriousness, no players talk about LeBron like this.
there is a reason why he is still the benchmark by which every single goat debate out there is measuring things up.
Good luck 😂😂
Reggie sounds like he needs a hug
MJ was Great but what would have happened if Len Bais would’ve passed
MJ 🐐🐐🐐🐐
The greatest to ever lace up shoes in the nba
50
Jordan wasn’t playing against the league. He was playing against himself.
It wasn't enough for Jordan that he won, you had to lose and know he was better than you. Other players feared MJ, no one fears LBJ.
Michael Jordan is the greatest of all times, it's straight up facts, take a look how he played the game,no one comes close.
I will NEVER get tired of MJ stories.
How can they deny that MJ is the goat when even the greatest acknowledges him, these personages are legends and hall of famer!
Hands down there’s only one king and that was MJ. Period!
Genuinely, he will score what he wants. It's so soft now he could clock out with 30 at half time, 16 points from the line. He was unstoppable when you could hold him, grab his arms, shove him out- now he wouldn't be touchable. Then behind him, Kobe would destroy this league
It's crazy to hear these absolute dogs talk about how MJ changed their sleeping patterns. These are dudes who feared nothing. MJ is the GOAT.
50 A night easy!
Just getting the comments to 667.
joe dumars is the only defender who MJ repected the most, Joe would always play his hard, physical but never said a word or show any emotion or frustration, never said one word of trash talk . Joe is the ultimate competitor and the ultimate professional all in one.
Prime MJ 90-96 with today's weak ass game. He's getting 45 per game easily.
Mike was actually like a lion who could sense the fear in his opps ,& he used that to elevate his own confidence while dismantling his opponents confidence.
You best believe the
powder was around.
42 ppg, 11 rpg, 8 apg. Today's players don't know how good they have it.
@14:3O My absolute best in my "athletic" life is keeping Jordan awake.
I ain't too proud to beg. The realest shit ever 😂😂😂😂
I could listen to mad max telling stories all day.
He would of averaged 50 easy with no hand checking and toughness defense maaaaan 😂
Those were the days!!!!!!!!
nba is straight TRASH NOW FOR TO LONG PEACE!!!!!!!!!!
He’s the GOAT but he was an absolute ass
Younger fans will stan for LeBron, but his peers don't speak about him with the same reverence that Jordan gets. Id have Kobe above LeBron as well for grit, determination and impact on the game. His shooting percentage especially from beyond the arc is the one caveat, but if I'm building a team id take Kobe over LBJ.
