I review the Cleveland RTZ wedge in this video. Cleveland RTZ wedge is supposedly softer, more forgiving, and more durable than its predecessors. I review these wedges outdoors around the green and on fuller shots. I hope you enjoy!

Hey guys, Mr. Short hitter here. You don’t look like a short hitter to me. Today I have the Cleveland RTZ wedges. I’ve got these in this all black tour issue S400 dynamic gold black onx shaft in a 50 54 and 58. Now I got all midbounce options with these. These are all 10°. But what you could do is if you want to get one with a lower bounce and get one with a higher bounce so you have something to play in different situations around the greens. But I play in soft conditions and firm conditions. So I just like to get the bid and I could always square it up if I need a little bit less bounce and open it up if I need a little bit more bounce. You know, I wouldn’t expect this green to be able to stop the ball, but I’m just going to play the ball up first. Just a normal little pitch shot using that using that bounce. So, we still have a little forgiveness built in here with the mid. Should allow me to open the face a little bit if we want to try to hit a shot a little higher or also play it back and just kind of drive it a little bit lower if we need to. The low is going to be more for someone that swings pretty pretty steep or if you’re playing real firm conditions, it’s going to give you less bounce. So, you’re not going to have to worry about bouncing into that ball. And if you’re playing conditions where it’s always soft, then you may want to go to the high. But, you know, I play all year round, you guys know. So, sometimes it’s soft, sometimes it’s firm. So that’s why I kind of like the the middle of the road option here. Now I hit that one a little bit higher. Opened it up and it actually generated a little bit more spin there when I did that. Definitely more spin once I opened it up. Cleveland says this Z alloy material is going to be more forgiving, have a better feel, and more durability than their previous models of wedges. I’ve been playing the CVX wedges for a while, and before that, I played Cleveland RTX wedges. I’ve got a ton of Cleveland wedges in my garage right now, so I’ve always played Cleveland wedges. Not bad for our first six pitch shots here with the RTZ. When I open that face up, that ball did seem to stop a little bit quicker. Well, actually considerably quicker and did still get a little bit more height. kind of drove that one a little harder. Let me fatted that one. Maybe a little less help on a mishit than the CBX that I was playing. feel like I get away a little bit more when I fat them like that. But this one kind of rolled out a little bit. Now, if these wedges can give us a little bit more forgiveness, then maybe this wedge isn’t just a wedge for low handicap players. Maybe some mid- handicaps, possibly even high handicaps can play this wedge. Unless I had to, this would probably be about as far out as I would want to hit this 58. I kind of like to just hit the 54 whenever possible. I just like less less loft when I can. Very soft off the face. I hit that ball about 25 yards. It hit a little harder. Now I see how soft it is out here. These were conditions to where personally I would like to expose a little bit more bounce. So I’m going to open this up a little and I’m going to take a 54. It’s just so easy to dig when it gets this soft out here. Yeah, I like that shot a lot better. So now I’m going to hit the same shot. I’m going to take the 58, open this one up a little bit, try to get a little bit more bounce exposed. And I’ll have to take a a bigger swing now. Yep. Like that a lot better. ball back there is the first ball that I hit that I misjudged at distance horribly. These other three shots are all pretty good. I’m going to take the 54. Conditions are still pretty soft, so I’ll open it up just a tad. A little more bounce. I feel these clubs are very soft. I will definitely give them that. [Music] Pretty good shot. Lower trajectory there. [Music] More of a normal trajectory there. Little right. Feels so soft off the face. Feels like you’re almost not not hitting the ball. Look at these divots. So, these Cleveland wedges have hydrozip grooves. Now, what that is supposed to do is give you more spin under wet conditions. And they actually have this throughout their wedge sets. And it’s supposed to be to where it’s configured with the different lofts to help balance the spin throughout the set. And again, also improve the spin in wet conditions. Right at 90 yards, should be a nice 50°ree wedge here. All look like it hit just short of the flag. And those new grooves really work cuz I think it actually spun back a little bit. That one a little bit better and a little bit higher. And that one’s going to be past the flag. Another one. Nice and high. Going right at the flag. That’s past the flag, too. So, I thought there was a little wind up there hurting. I hit those super high, but we’re right at 90 yards. This time, I want to see if I can maybe flight this a little bit lower if I had to. So, I got the same 50° wedge, 90 yards. See if we can hit it a little bit lower. Guys, if you play municipal courses like I do, you’re familiar with areas like this. So, I’m going to take my 58. It’s a little firm here. It’s not soft like it was on the other parts of the course. So, I can hit behind it a little bit and just kind of come in a little shallow. As long as I don’t hit the ball first, I should be should be okay. As long as I don’t thin the ball. hitting behind. It should work out pretty good. At least can hit a decent shot from there. So guys, my final assessment of these Cleveland RTZ Tour Rack wedges. It’s hard to say whether they’re more forgiving than the RTX model, but they’re definitely not going to be forgiving like a CBX. So, if you’re a player that wants ultimate forgiveness, you’re going to go more towards the CBX uh model than this RTZ. But I was able to open the face, close the face, hit all the shots that I normally could hit. I just didn’t have the same level of confidence that I have with the CVX. But feel-wise, one of the best feeling wedges that I’ve hit, and maybe it is a little more forgiving. They say more durable. That’s yet to be determined, but a pretty good wedge nonetheless. If you’re a low handicap or even if you’re a 10 to 12 handicap that is a good wedge player, this is a wedge that’s definitely worth taking a look at. So, if you enjoyed the video, like, comment, subscribe. Until next time, Mr. Short hitter out. Just play 13.

Enjoyed as always. Wish I hit my wedges like that!
Wedges look great. These look like a nice upgrade over my rtx 6 wedges. These look tour rack looks very appealing due to their anti glare and grinding options, just waiting on them to be back in stock
I too got new RTZ’s. Took them to my local range and was impressed with how soft they feel and how much of the ball cover spray appeared with full swings. The milling on the grooves is amazing. Now I have to clean the yellow paint off them 😂.
Awesome! Just what I been thinking about.
Thanks MSH. "Hit'em straight"
Cleveland wedges are great. I’ve got a very used 64 degree in the bag and love it more than my 64 degree hi tow jaws wedge.
