FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — The best drama from the first two days at Bethpage Black involved a caddie and a vice captain jawing at each other. But ahead of Sunday’s singles session, that beef has been squashed.
Ted Scott, who is Scottie Scheffler’s caddie, and Francesco Molinari, a major champ and one of Team Europe’s assistant captains, posted a make-up video in which they described themselves as “Ryder Cup rivals, but life buds.” Awww.

The two were part of a heated argument late in Saturday’s four-ball session after Justin Rose took issue with Bryson DeChambeau’s caddie, Greg Bodine, getting in his way as he lined up a putt on the 15th hole. As the star-studded foursome that also included Tommy Fleetwood made its way up the hill to the 16th tee, Molinari tried to get in between Fleetwood and the Americans. And that’s when Scott, usually known to be mild-mannered, got in Molinari’s face.
“We had a heated moment yesterday but what many of you don’t realize, we got over it, by the time we got off the 16th hole it was over,” Scott said in the video in which he did the majority of the talking.”

How sweet.
“Neither one of us wants to make this competition about us,” Scott added in the video. “We want to let the players go out there and do their thing.”
