NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men’s golf team is back in action this Monday and Tuesday at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational in Madison, Illinois.
WHAT’S BRUIN
The Bruins are coming off a third place finish at last week’s Yestingsmeier Invitational in Muncie, Indiana. Three BU golfers finished among the top-25, led by Conner Brown’s tie for sixth place.
Conner carded a 64 in the first round last Saturday, which is tied for the third lowest 18-hole score in the Division I era. His 36-hole score of 132 is now tied for the fifth lowest in program history.
Brown continues to lead the team in scoring with a 68.7 average and two top-20 finishes. Junior Chris Harpum is right behind at 70.0, while freshman Charlie Spiller is third at 71.3.
Spiller picked up his first collegiate top-20 finish as he tied for 18th last weekend.
Their 54-hole mark of 836 was the lowest by the Bruins since September of 2023 at Marshall.
The Dolenc Invitational, hosted by SIUE, is a two-day, 54-hole event, with 36 holes contested Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. It will be held at Gateway National Golf Course, which will play to a par 71 and 6,985 yards.
The field features 18 teams and features the likes of host SIUE, Missouri State, Morehead State, UT-Martin, Wichita State, and two other MVC squads: Bradley and UNI.
Belmont has not played in this event since 2019, when they finished third and Evan Davis captured medalist honors.
Day one play begins Monday morning with an 8:00am shotgun start. Live scoring can be found at BelmontBruins.com or Clippd.com.
