Find you a man who supports you like Shane Lowry supports Rory McIlroy.

Incidentally, the tv broadcast does not accurately represent just how loud the heckling is.

“Eject that man with the red shirt”
Red shirt guy looks down to see what color his shirt is.
    “Oh shit”

  2. Expert_Cub4637

Shane got that fire, he’s the last man I’d want to fight on that course. He would die to prove a point. Love Shane so much.

  3. Love how Lowry’s caddy is like “he ain’t worth it”

  4. Master_Hospital_8631

Dude probably still thinks he’s the victim and was treated unfairly.

  5. Theres3ofMe

It shouldn’t take for one of the guys to get a spectator ejected – the security staff should be all over that like a rash. Disgusting, really.

  6. Bigpapa0318

As an American, I am embarrassed by the crowd and how they are acting, as well as the play from our team .

  7. Public_Proposal_3567

When did the Ryder Cup get hijacked as clown show? I’m talking about everyone. The golfers, their caddies, and the spectators.

  8. This feels so combative it’s kind of taken the fun out of it. That and the U.S. has just gotten rag dolled.

  9. the_dude2805

I can’t read any of these stories or videos because fans that do this stuff make me sick, it’s so cringe to be vulgar to anyone…cheat for your team, go be with your family, live a good life

It’s sad that this is supposed to be a gentleman’s sport an has somehow turned into full on hooliganism. Go back to your shantys

  11. CaptainNipplesMcRib

Imagine getting thrown out of any event for yelling at an athlete. Just so many entitled losers at this thing. It’s a microcosm of the U.S. right now though.

As an American I am so embarrassed by our crowd. So much so, I am rooting for Europe to win every match today. I hope it is over early.

  13. outtherenow1

Keegan needs to speak out against this today. The behavior of fans has been abhorrent. The PGA of America needs to also condemn fan behavior.

I’m embarrassed to be an American (again)

Are the stewards/security just standing around scratching their arse?

  15. You know it was bad when 25 cops get added to following one player and they don’t televise much of the match because of the profanity.

  16. sfitz0076

The NBC announcers really downplayed the fan behavior.

  17. brianstormIRL

I just dont get why it was so personal and vicious for these two specifically. Like everyone knows you expect a bit of back and forth banter at an away sporting event, but making fun of a players marriage, personal life, sexual slurs? Like what the hell? Good banter is whitty and clever. Europe singing about Cantlays hat at the last Ryder cup. Chanting Bryson what’s the score yesterday. Its poking fun without being aggressive or vindictive.

This is the same man that was caught giggling at the joke towards Rory about “choking.” These guys are not opposed to good natured shit talk; hell, even yelling “you suck” or something isn’t that bad. It’s not clever, but it’s not offensive.

Our brains have become so addled by internet discourse (I know I’m here too), that we have become completely incapable of empathy. We don’t see people anymore. So people just say whatever vile thing that pops into their head, and then gaslight the person who is offended. “It wasn’t that bad, you’re too sensitive.”

It’s absurd. Just be a decent goddamn human being.

  19. The_DanceCommander

The more the PGA coddles these people the more this will keep happening. America is a me me me f**k u I got mine culture, and frankly this behavior needs to be beaten out of us. Ban people, throw them out, stop tolerating this.

Problem is, PGA won’t do that because these assholes pay them, and if they tried to crack down they’d probably be called woke and get themselves investigated by the President or something.

  20. These New York knuckleheads are a disgrace. Embarrassed

  21. seattlereign001

The fact that the players have to ask for this is absurd. This course should not see another event again.

  22. we_back_up

This shit is endemic of a larger rot pervasive throughout most of upper middle class America.

Lest we forget these tickets cost 750 bucks – this isn’t joebob and buck doing this shit, it’s Tanner and Jayden who’s mom and dad own private property and give them whatever they want.

It’s embarrassing, it’s cringe asf, and in any other context where there wasn’t a line of people between this idiot and the pro they wouldn’t say shit – these people are all the same. Loud mouth bullies who never got slapped in the mouth because daddy has money. Gross.

  23. Zestyclose-Middle717

Wonder what in America has emboldened the ignorant to do this…

  24. SkiPolarBear22

Has there ever been a better metaphor for the state of the US then this tournament?
