And welcome back. Can Europe create history today by winning the Ryder Cup by more than 10 points? Well, no other team has ever done that in the history of the competition. However, they need just two and a half points from a possible 12 to retain the trophy. Or will Team USA pull off possibly the greatest comeback of all time? Well, it’s been amazing viewing for all of us in New York and our reporter Jamie Weir has been there to witness it. What lies in store on the final day of what has been an extraordinary Rder Cup? And an extraordinary Rder Cup for Europe for so many reasons. 11 and a half points to 4 and a half. The finishing line is inside for Luke Donald and his men. He will be urging no complacency even with the score line what it is at the moment. They are on the verge of not just a victory but perhaps even a record victory. That came four years ago at Whistling Straits when the United States won by 19 points to nine. If they were to win eight of the 12 singles matches on Sunday, then they would surpass that total. Luke Donald will just want to get to the victory line. And that may well come perhaps in match number four, which sees the world number one and the world number two go headto-head. Scotty Sheffller taking on Rory Mroy. It has been a blue title wave on the scoreboard so far and Europe will be hoping that remains the case on Sunday. The PGF of America will be hoping perhaps naively that the crowds behave themselves on the final day because on Saturday it certainly crossed a line. Fans having to get ejected, Shane Larry having to get held back by his caddy at one stage. Exploitive laden abuse hurled in particular at Rory Mroy and Shane Li. It was fairly unpleasant out there. Fairly vitriolic stuff. Not particularly intelligent or subtle, just pretty brutal and pretty unpleasant, especially for the players wives who are inside the ropes and having to listen to some fairly unpleasant stuff. Whether that boils over again on Sunday remains to be seen, but the fans are not happy and understandably so. This has been a really humiliating performance for the United States so far and they stand on the verge of an away at a defeat on home soil and not just a defeat on home soil but a record defeat.

  1. This Ryder Cup has been great fun. Yesterday's "All Ireland" Lowry & Rory matchup was very entertaining. The "All England" Justin Rose & Tommy Fleetwood game against Bryson & Scottie Scheffler was superb. Rahm & Hatton won their fouresome against Schauffele and Cantlay with some superb chipping. On Friday, the Åberg Fitzpatrik partnership was electric. I don't get why the US chose Bethpage Black, or why the course is so "boring" compared to the US open. The 15th & 11th were usually way harder.

  2. I know there have been other instances in the past but this is the worst I've ever seen it.
A healthy rivalry is great, it fuels interest in the outcome but I've NEVER seen an America this overly tribalistic. This is not the NFL or the NBA where you can hurl abuse at someone shooting a free throw or attempting a field goal.
What has happened to enable these people to think they can do things like this?

  3. American here, I apologize to the Europeans on behalf of the rest of America. It definitely crossed a line. Bad enough the golfers were awful, then the fan behavior is worse. Another sad day for America. We seem to suffer humiliation on a daily basis since Trump has been elected. Add another disgraceful notch to our belt.

  4. This behavior was the product of greed from the USGA and PGA baked in for years. They have allowed it for decades now all in the name of growing the game. Now the game is unrecognizable from its core intent and mission. Want proof? The Masters. They don't tolerate thuggery and treat patrons like guest and limit prices, attendance and commercial breaks on television…because they love the game and have not sold out to pursue every last dime.

  5. As an American my observation is as follows:
1.The USA should never pick a Captain who is still a full time PGA player. Needs to be 45 or older and much admired. The USA team needed Keegan as a player not as a Captain.
    2. The PGA should have selected a course which is tough regardless of weather conditions not a potential birdie fest. Preferably not in the Northeast.
    3. No alcohol allowed or if it is not until afternoon.
    4. Strict crowd control with speedy exit of foul mouthed or abusive fans coordinated between the PGA and Security.
    5. Even if the first four are implemented the USA team was fundamentally weaker then the European team. Other then Scottie who is primarily the best Worlds' Singles player there are at least 3 to 5 Europeans playing better then the rest of the USA team.
In conclusion if the USA team loses it should be with respect and dignity not the way it currently is.

  6. Have y'all never watched a Ryder Cup before? Seems like it being suprised by the crowd behavior. Its part of the Ryder Cup sadly, the home teams fans act terrible towards the other team. European fans do it to the USA team when are the home team, its nothing new or unique. Congrats on winning but stop crying about crowd behavior. ☮

  7. Watching with my kid in the morning foursomes i was also disappointed by McIllroy's conduct when he shouted in bad language at they spectators .At that point they weren't even giving him abuse. No need to use that type of language when you are a role model to young kids who are watching the ryder cup
