A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Canadian man in Wisconsin this week, police say.
A 35-year-old man has been charged with first-degree reckless homicide in the killing of Giovanni Michael Robinson in Sheboygan Falls, the town’s police department said in a news release Friday.
Robinson, 32, originally from Stouffville, Ont., was shot and killed Wednesday in the small town of more than 8,000 located near Lake Michigan’s west coast, police said in a previous release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police previously said they believe it was a drive-by shooting.

Ontario man fatally shot in Wisconsin while on golf trip
A 32-year-old man from Stouffville, Ont. was shot and killed while on a golf trip in Wisconsin this week, police say. CBC’s JP Gallardo has the latest details on the investigation.
Robinson, who got married in 2022 and was known as Mike, was on an annual golf trip when he was killed, his brother Jacob Robinson told CBC News this week.
Mike had been living in Pennsylvania with his American wife, Jacob said. He became a new father when he and his wife had a baby girl six weeks ago, he added, calling his brother “an incredible, incredible person.”
In the hours before the shooting, Jacob said his brother left the Whistling Straits Gold Course in Sheboygan with his in-laws to go out for dinner, then to a local bar. He said there were no altercations his family was aware of, calling it “just a regular Tuesday night.”
“The rest is kind of a mystery right now,” Jacob said this week.
Police have yet to release a suspected motive in Robinson’s killing.
A spokesperson for Global Affairs Canada said in an email Thursday that it is aware of a death of a Canadian citizen in Wisconsin.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said consular officials are in contact with local authorities to gather information about what happened, and have been in touch with the family to provide assistance.
Sheboygan police said in Friday’s release they will provide more details as the investigation progresses, with a news conference scheduled for early next week.
