Putting was something that I struggled with, especially in terms of inconsistency. Towards the end of the 2025 season, the best club in my bag became my putter because of the tips and tricks I am showcasing in this video. Speed control is still the absolute King when it comes to putting, and because its so important I will be making a video on that in the near future. If you get something from this video that helps you out, please make sure to give it a like and consider subscribing. I am going to be recording more videos prior to the end of the golf season to ensure I have a strong pipeline heading into the winter, so stay tuned.

I apologize for the lack of video uploads, this is something I will talk about in a future video as well. Long story short, I have decided that it is best to go back into the workforce so I can outsource some aspects of video editing to ensure that every video I put out becomes better quality.

When I draw a line for my eye to the golf ball, be uphill and going right to left. If you’re somebody over top of the putter and you have a very quick tempo like that. [Music] If you’re sick and tired of missing putts on the green, or if you’re new to golf and you’re beginner and want to make more putts, this video is for you. In this video, I’m going to go over a couple tips and tricks that I personally use in my golf game to help me make more putts. Let’s hop into the video. When it comes to putting golf in general, a lot of your success happens before you even hit the ball. In putting, there are a few key points you have to do properly at setup that will help maximize your chances of success. To set up properly with the putter, you want to make sure that your eyes are directly over top of the golf ball. When I draw a line from my eye to the golf ball, it’ll be a straight line. The reason for this is by having your eyes directly over top of the golf ball, it gives you the best chance to swing more in a pendulum and give yourself a better chance of making a good stroke and a good putt. If you guys have been on my channel long enough, you know that I like practicing indoors because you get rid of a lot of variables. This here is an example of what my indoor putting setup looks like. If you guys are wanting to know the best way to improving your putting at home, I would highly recommend checking out this eyline mirror. I’ll put the link in the description below. As you guys can see here, it’s pretty marked up. That’s because I use it all the time because it works. The second most important fundamental when it comes to putting is your ball position. When you putt, you want to make sure that your golf ball is just slightly forward of center. The reason being is when you take the stroke of the putter, you actually want to hit the ball on the upswing, producing top spin. To know that you’re set up properly with the putter as well, you want to make sure that the line from your putter to your forearms are also in a relatively straight line. You will see on TV with a lot of good PJ tour putters is they’ll have a straight line from their putter head to the shaft up through their forearms. [Music] If you’re somebody over top of the putter and you have a very quick tempo like that, it’s very hard to be consistent. The best tip I can give you guys is feel as though when you’re at the back end of your range in your back swing, feel as though you take a pause to gather the club and then go through. It’s very similar to a full swing. And this will allow you to be more consistent. I personally swear by doing this and by doing this, my putting has improved significantly. So, it’s going to look like this. [Music] [Music] Another very important piece of advice to become a better putter over time is to make sure that you take a putter and you stick with it. If you stick with the same putter over a long period of time, odds are you’re going to get better results than if you keep switching. Another variable that you want to keep constant to give yourself the best chance of becoming a better putter is to make sure that you continue practicing with the same grip. What I see with a lot of golfers that I play with is after having a couple bad rounds of putting, instead of going to the practice screen, they change their putting grip. Do not do this. In the description, I’ll put a video to the putting grip that I personally use and stick with that I guarantee will help your putting game. [Music] There’s two variables we have to understand when it comes to putting to become a better putter. The first variable is you have to be able to get your ball to start on the correct line, which is a video I’ll make in the future. But by getting rid of this variable, I would highly recommend you put a line on your golf ball. A lot of golf’s greatest players, including Tiger Woods, do this. So, basically, what you’re doing is you’re putting the golf ball down and you’re lining up the putt to what you see in the break. When it comes to speed control, you have to understand two things. When it comes to an uphill putt, you have to hit the golf ball a little bit harder than you would in a downhill putt. And as a result, it’s not going to break as much. If you have a downhill putt, these putts are going to break a little more than they would if they were uphill. I will be making a video on green reading in the future. This is something that differs from individual to individual. A lot of times you’ll see people do what’s called aim point where they feel the slope with their feet. For myself personally, that doesn’t work. I just use my eyes. In saying that though, I’ve been playing golf for 15 years. So when I take a look at a green, I can see brakes better than other people that just started. So I would recommend maybe even doing a combination of both. To showcase my process and to tie the entire video together, I’m going to showcase to you guys how I’m going to personally go about reading this particular putt. The first thing I always do when I putt is to get behind the ball and just see what it looks like from behind it. Now, I chose this particular putt because I haven’t seen it yet today. I’ve been recording on different greens here because it’s fairly busy out this afternoon. If I was in a tournament round, this is how I view these putts here. The first thing that I see with this particular putt is it is uphill. Now, when I stand behind the putt here, I can really see how downhill it is. So, when you’re coming back from that way, it’s just opposite. It’s going to be uphill. Just because of the way I’ve taught myself how to read greens, just with my eyes, I can see that that is downhill this way. So, what that’s going to mean is the putt kind of looks like this. It’s downhill and then it’s like this, meaning it’s going to be uphill and going right to left. So, now that I know that this putt is going right to left, it’s uphill, meaning it’s not going to break as much. The next thing that I will personally do is look for a spot that I can stare at before I pull the trigger when putting. When you’re behind the ball, picture the ball going in. If you can personally see the ball going in, this will help you make more putts. Trust me, it’s just the way your brain works. If you see the ball going in, you’ll have more confidence over top of the putt. Even if it’s not read right, you’re better off thinking you’re going to make a good putt over thinking you’re not going to make a good putt. I think it’s probably going to break about a foot and it’s uphill. So, what a lot of people do is they just stare at the cup, which I disagree with. It’s because I know this putt’s uphill because I know this putt’s breaking right to left. I like looking past the hole and just picking a spot here. So, I’m going to pick this spot right here, and I’m going to line my ball up to that spot using the line. And similarly, if the putt was downhill, for example, I would be taking a look at this spot. So, I adjust where I look depending if it’s uphill or downhill. Now that I have my spot picked, I know that this putt’s going right to left. I know it’s uphill. I’m going to set up to the ball. Again, like we talked about in the first couple of points, my eyes are going to be over top of the golf ball. The ball is going to be slightly forward in the middle of my stance. And from here, I just stare at the spot that I was looking at and lined up my golf ball to. Another fundamental tip, and I know it’s going to sound a lot easier said than done. When you putt, forget about all the mechanics you’ve ever been told when you’re actually doing the putting stroke. Brain is a supercomput, and you want to trust that your supercomput is going to figure out the distance that you have to hit it. This is something that you do have to practice. As with all things in life, if you don’t practice, you can’t expect yourself to get good at it. [Music] You know what? That didn’t go in. But that was a very good putt and I’d be very happy with that putt. Overall, you guys, putting is very hard. This putt’s about 15 feet. Odds are you’re not going to make every single 15footer that you look at. But by following this process and by understanding putting a little bit better from watching this video, I hope you guys make more putts.
