The 2025 Ryder Cup is the 45th edition and runs between September 25 – September 28. Luke Donald is the European Team Captain and Keegan Bradley is the U.S. Team Captain. The European Team are the reigning champion after winning 16 ½ – 11 ½ at Marco Simone in 2023. Every two years, 24 of the best players from Europe and the United States go head-to-head in match play competition. Drama, tension, incredible golf, camaraderie and sportsmanship are served in equal measure, captivating an audience of millions around the world. It’s an event that transcends sport, yet remains true to the spirit of its founder, Samuel Ryder.

There’s no weak links for Europe right now. And like I said, they have to win. They have to win three. 22 is not going to get it done. That does you absolutely nothing. They have to at least win three. Obviously, they want to win four, but now math is against them, right? They’ve got a long way to go. Yeah. Just to make it clear though, 22 would mean that Europe would be within three and a half points of retaining the Ryder Cup. That’s not going to get it done. No. And Europe’s will and their desire right now to demolish the US, it’s like is incredible. I mean, they are just, you know, as Kobe said, the job’s not finished, right? And that’s how they’re taking it. It’s not we’re not done. They’re like, we got a long way to go, but we’re trying to get every point, every session, and why not with four, right? That’s what they’re thinking, thought process. Why not? Is there a danger mentally that the Europeans start playing defense at the moment and protecting what they’ve got? No, not so not going to have zero chance there. You can see on their face on an American face, man. He’s saying exactly the same thing. This is they have the right mentality. They want to destroy you. They want to end this today if they can, right? They want no hope. You can see it on all their faces too like in Ram and Aro they’re just they have one mission and it’s to destroy the US and as Rory said in Rome we are going to go to Beth Page and we are going to win right and I I I you know I don’t know it’s just there’s they’ve played that well right there’s really no reason to talk about the US cuz this has been about Europe and how well they’ve played if you reverse the scores Americans in out there for 4-0 this afternoon. Of course. Of course. It’s what it’s all about. Each match is its own as you said a little while ago. It’s what’s gone gone. Yeah. It’s a level playing field again today when you got that first T. It’s your own pride, your own team, your own points. I’m trying to put myself uh for a moment in the shoes of Keegan Bradley and imagine how he feels at the moment. Heartbroken. Heartbroken. It’s It’s been a It’s not a disaster. It’s too strong a word, but it’s not gone anywhere near what he wanted to go. He’s planned this for two years. Yeah. He’s loved this. He’s been a great ambassador for golf, but it’s gone all wrong so far. You’re pretty deflated for sure. Um, you know, you rolled rolled out basically the same for some pairings over and over again and 31 31, right? Like I he’s going to be criticized heavily for that cuz it didn’t really make any sense at the time. You know, that’s our plan. Well, you got to have multiple plans in this. You know, there’s there’s a plan A. See how it goes and then you adjust, right? you have to adjust in this and he didn’t adjust at all. So that’s going to be that’s going to be rough for him to kind of deal with. Um but the fact is right now you’re cheering on your team. That’s that’s all you can do. Yeah. And uh this certainly isn’t a close mort because this is a long way from being done. But this make no mistake is a huge session for the United States of America. Somehow they have to turn the tide on this. [Applause] He could play a big part even though he can only earn one point. We need to to set the tone if you like as he did on that famous Saturday afternoon at the diner. give the US team something something to hang on to, something to feed off going into the singles matches tomorrow.
