Maybe it’s time we just accept the truth: The Europeans are simply better at this Ryder Cup thing than the Americans.
Sure, the U.S. has had its moments in this biennial competition, winning its share of matches on home soil.
But winning the Ryder Cup is part of Europe’s golfing DNA. European players are willing to bleed for the Ryder Cup. It’s more important to them than any major championship they may win. They transform into better players and better putters when they’re playing for each other and that 17-inch chalice.
Europe positively thrashed the Americans on Saturday, winning six of the eight points to take a stunning 11 ½ to 4 ½ lead into the Sunday singles at Bethpage Black.
