When I tell you our number two is in full effect, it is in full effect. It’s Donny right side, it’s Joe Ranieri. Now we welcome in the energy man himself. It’s Cam Stewart because we need help with the Ryder Cup, with the CFL, maybe the WNBA, major League baseball, Pro football. This is your guy cam. Welcome into the show. Thank you for joining us this morning. Oh thank you very much Donny. What like what a what an intro. And I’ll tell you something about this Ryder Cup. There’s one thing though. Hey. Hey, turkeys. What day is it today? It’s Thursday morning, Joe. I’m watching Golf Channel right now. It’s rain. Like, what are these guys I like, say, there’s any type of crazy rain delay. You know, me matches these guys have to put in. Like, I don’t understand why you can’t go Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. And then you have college football on Saturday and NFL on Sunday. Because I’ll tell you one thing. I know you, Donny, and I know Joe and people who bet golf, we also bet football. So I just don’t. And these guys in the Ryder Cup haven’t been playing since Scheffler won a few weeks ago. So there’s no like you could start this thing any other time. I’m just like, you got to squeeze this in Friday, Saturday and Sunday and compete against the National Football League in college. Anyway, I’m not the commissioner of the PGA tour. I will tell you this. Yeah, Donnie, you’re right. They change a little bit of rules in the CFL. But they didn’t go to four down football because I know a lot of people would have said and cut Mike, we’re done. But you know what it is. Hey the field is now 100. They have to do these things too. Because remember guys, you guys know like small schools in the Mac and stuff where they have that track like some of them aren’t even 20 yards or whatever. So the CFL rules are fine. But Gabe came up with some great ideas yesterday. We’ll talk about it. But here’s here’s the deal with the Ryder Cup. I if I’m team USA if I’m team USA, this is not the track that I want. I don’t know how you feel about it, Joe, but I’m going to tell you something like I’m looking at Team Europe and go, okay, Rory McIlroy bombs the ball, Jon Rahm bombs the ball. You got Bryson DeChambeau. But you get the you get to choose the course. And I’m going to tell you something about Bethpage Black. It’s one of the top ten courses of difficulty in the world not just the United States. So I’m looking at team USA going, okay, I know there’s some good players there, but guys I get Europe at plus 180 and I’m looking at this stuff going, I know you feel Joe. I don’t know you feel Donnie, but I’m looking at Europe for value and saying they have a great chance to win like they they have a lot of guys right now that are very, very good. And I’ll tell you, Joe, you know what? Rory bombs it. You can put him with Fleetwood, who one year was perfect with Molinari. I’m just saying I look at the value of Europe, Joe, and go, you know what? You want to give me Europe at almost 2 to 1. Sign me up. And I hope you guys don’t cut my mic. As a Canadian, I love Joe Ranieri, the mayor of Miami. Donny, right side, the pride of, you know, Philadelphia Eagle fan Tommy. He’s a Rochester American. I love all my friends at Sports Grid, but this is about paying bills. And I’m looking at the European team going, I can’t believe the price we’re getting, Joe. It’s very like I would have made America. Maybe. What do you think, Joe? Maybe a buck buck 30. Like, not like $2. That’s my opinion. I think Europe can win this thing. And I think the value is there. Yeah I think well yeah. Obviously the big names having the world’s number one in Scottie Scheffler is going to have a lot of people running to the window to back team USA. But give me the keys. I you know I asked Keith Stewart yesterday give me a name here of a guy that is going to be key if the US wins. This is a guy that’s got to show up and show out. And he said, obviously behind Scotty it was Bryson that needs to elevate that crowd. He’s got he’s got to show up for team USA. Who’s the guy for the Europeans that’s got to show up and show out here? Cam great. Call Joe and then Bryson DeChambeau. The problem is he might hit it a mile, but he also sprays it for for Europe. I think there’s a lot of guys. But I’m going to say Ty Hatton, you look at Rory McIlroy, Ty Hatton is the Bryson DeChambeau of Europe. He’s an animal. He can smash clubs and he has a personality. And the one thing about him is he’s going to have these guys going nuts. And the key to Europe, I think early you got to get these guys early. And that’s what I love. Joe. The first day betting plus 140. And what did the Europeans do? Well we’ve known this for years Joe. You’re a golf guy like me. Foursomes alternate shot. What are the Americans do? Well, singles. That’s what they always come back on Sunday with singles. But I’m looking at these guys going even with the singles. The depth of the European team is very, very strong. Ty Hatton is an animal. That’s what I’m thinking. He’s one of those guys. And I’ll tell you, Joe, for for Scheffler, his points two and a half I go that’s a great bet for team USA. What he is he’s plus 280 to be top American point getter too. And I’m looking at this. Didn’t we bet him at plus 280 with 162 guys in the field. So if I lose this bet I don’t even care. I’m getting I’m getting Scottie Scheffler at the same price in a tournament with like nobody at the same price he has for a full field tournament, he will do well. I know people are like, oh, is he long enough? Yeah. No he. Yeah. Is he straight enough. Yeah. Can he putt for sure. He’s he checks all the boxes. But then I’m looking at Europe going oh my God. Like look at this team Hatton Rahm Hovland. Oh McIntyre’s an animal. He almost won the US open. Rose a veteran Fleetwood never loses in these things. So I’m I’m just absolutely shocked guys at the price for Europe and for great question though Joe. I think Hatton is one of those key guys. I also bet him over one and a half points like he’s one of those guys. And guys, when you’re betting this stuff, think about Scheffler. He will be in every single American team that he can like. There’s no bench for him. That’s the thing. Like Collin Morikawa take a seat. If he loses his first match you might not see him till singles. That’s the whole key to this thing. You have to have guys that are going to play a lot. And I’ll tell you, Scottie Scheffler, don’t you agree Joe? At two and a half points that’s pretty good. If he doesn’t get it I don’t care. I think the numbers great. Plus 280 top American player. And I’ll tell you one other American that I love Cameron Young I know Carver’s with the kids. I was going to do a show with him. He’s at Disney World and we we texted here’s the deal Cameron Young New York guy from the area. What does he do? Well, bomb it at Bethpage Black. You got to murder the ball like you got to be there. And I think he’s won. Rookie. That is sneaky. And he finally got his win. He almost won the Canadian Open five tournaments Joe. He’s just top ten machine I think he’s a guy that’s very very dangerous. So that’s a guy top rookie I’d look at Cameron Young. You think it’s cam quick out the door. You think this is decided in the singles matches or does are they going to be so far behind again team USA it’s not going to matter what happens on Sunday. I think it goes to singles. I think it’s close. And remember guys, if it’s a tie, be careful when you’re betting 1414, it’s 28 points. Europe will retain the trophy. The team that won last time Oh, we’re a day away. Hours away. It feels like we wait every few years for the Ryder Cup. And we love the Ryder Cup when it’s on the US mainland, particularly just outside of New York City. I’m Donny right side, he’s Joe Ranieri and Keith Stewart joins us today. Boots on the ground at Bethpage Black. He’s our go to guy. He’s our PGA guy right here on the Sports Grid Network Keith how are we feeling a day away. Hey Donny, when you say boots on the ground, it’s rain boots on the ground. It’s pouring out here. Today. They moved the opening ceremonies to yesterday, which was great, because I don’t need all that pomp and circumstance. I just need the captains at 4 p.m. to tell me who’s playing in the first session tomorrow morning. Because you know what? We’ve waited long enough. They announced this thing 4392 days ago, when Governor Cuomo and the PGA of America came here and said, we’re coming to Bethpage for the Ryder Cup. Well, it’s finally time. I absolutely love this, too. And it’s nice talking to Keith multiple times this week to sort of get the lay out. But what Keith just alluded to here, you know, normal nice conditions. The golf course plays one way. Bethpage black is already an absolute bear with rainy conditions. Maybe can’t hit the golf ball further. But who gives the advantages here? Is it team USA or is it the Europeans that would get this benefit from maybe a soggy or golf course? Well, the weather’s going to be perfect during the event, so maybe if it was going to be bad weather while they play, you might say Team Europe, but the fact that we’re just going to soften the surfaces and create more scoring chances, it undoubtedly favors the USA side. We are much better at scoring. It’s proven. I mean, we play over here on the TPC, PGA tour where you know, 30 under wins tournaments. We our guys are conditioned to go low. We’ve already established that they’ve moved a bunch of tee boxes up to make the golf course shorter. They’ve lowered the rough, they’ve widened the fairways. They want this thing to be a shootout because it favors the Americans. And that’s part of that home course advantage. Donny. So weather won’t be an issue. And I’m glad you mentioned that, Keith, because I was going to say what how did what’s the advantage for the Americans using and setting up the course to there? What do they think their edge is here, and how did they set the course up to help them? Joe, there’s a couple of things, but probably the most obvious one is about six weeks ago, I played the golf course and I was comparing it to the 2019 PGA Championship, which was the last time these guys played in an event here in the Black Course. And the scorecard is 107 yards shorter. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but over the course of 18 holes it’s substantial. They’ve shortened some par threes. They’ve shortened a couple of the longer par fours. And the reason being is that the US side is much better hitting wedges. We are much better at scoring shots. We’re much better at scoring irons and mid irons. We do not want to get into a long iron fest like we had over in Rome. You’re going against guys like Rahm Hovland, Rory Hatton, you know those guys are some of the best players in the world. We have the best wedge players Ben Griffin, Russell Henley, Scottie Scheffler, Sam Burns like that’s what we want to do. So the biggest set of key you’re going to see is that all of the tees where they can. The PGA of America has moved them up to give us an advantage. And it’s very similar to what they did at Whistling Straits, which is you lower the rough, you let our guys bomb away and then you let them just absolutely attack the pin. It’s like a Jordan Spieth Phil Mickelson mentality that we’ve shared for like decades. We’re talking to Keith Stewart our PGA pro right here on the Sports Grid network here. And if we look at the odds market team USA is favored Keith -145. Price the underdog Europeans at a plus 165. So I ask you this. Do you agree with that price point? Also who’s winning this bad boy? Well Donny, I definitely agree with the price point. I’ll give you a couple reasons why. Here’s why. The the USA is favored. The home team has won by an average of almost seven points over the last five Ryder Cups. Right? Scotty is the number one player in the world. So we’re talking about number one liability. Everyone that looks at this event domestically is going to say, well geez we have Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. We’ve got the Tiger Woods guy. We are going to bet them hard. So you know that number just keeps getting shorter and shorter right. Not to mention the fact two weeks ago when he teed it up at, you know, the Procore event out where we don’t even know it doesn’t matter. He still won. So he’s coming off of a win. So all of I mean, the last time we were in America for a Ryder Cup was 2021 and Scottie Scheffler had zero wins four years later he’s got 19 guys. All right. We have seven players in the top ten of the Official World Golf Ranking. And we’re better par for team. And there’s 12 of them on this golf course. They take away two par fives. I mean I could give you 100 reasons why USA is favored for a ton of reasons. And the number one reason is home course and the number one player in the world. Keith, in years past we have seen this, you know, this event team USA not exactly a great team, a lot of good individuals. How is Bradley putting this team together? What’s the camaraderie like? What’s the feel with him. Well in the press room it’s been very interesting. It’s obvious that you know everyone knows they have Scottie on that team. So it makes them feel comfortable. And they also know they have Bryson on their team. And he’s attracting all of the attention of the fandom that’s out there. So if you’re one of those guys that just like a cam young, a quiet guy just wants to go about your business and play your best golf or Patrick Cantlay like, that’s the two best things in the world that you can know. So Keegan Bradley is kind of just put these guys in the best position possible to perform. They brought in the analytics team. They have a team from scouts, which is, you know, a very high end, data driven consultant that have taught these guys who and who needs to play with whom and on what holes. And you know what? I think that for the first time in a long time, Captain Keegan is taking seriously the analytics side of all this, which the Europeans have done forever. And one of the ways that they kill us all the time. But I tell you what, you know, it’s nice. It’s refreshing to see Keegan do that. And I think the guys, as a result, feel pretty loose about things. Even some of the stars, like Morikawa and JT, seem more comfortable than they should be based upon the way they’ve been playing lately. Ryder Cup is always built on pressure. It’s so much fun to watch it play out. The crowds are certainly tremendous and no better place to be than just outside of New York City. But understand this Keith too. There are interesting ways to bet this team USA is favored at a -145 price to win this, but there’s an odds market that says after day number one plus 108 USA, which means we don’t usually start all that well in some of these team competitions. If we see team USA up after day one. Is it a wrap, Keith? Well, I tell you what, I there’s a couple places you can go with this, and these are the types of bets that you want to do pre-match. And before we know the pairings, I would definitely take team USA for day one total. I mean it’s plus 108 there at FanDuel. There’s another one. The overall foursomes winner right has won the Ryder Cup the last nine times right. If you think that the USA is favored and they’re going to do well that’s a plus 105 job right there. I mean the the US has started well seven of the last eight Ryder Cups. The USA has led after the first session. So if you want to take tomorrow morning’s foursomes session, the winner USA plus 125. Donny, I got to counter you there a little bit. I’m going to go deep on the USA tomorrow because I feel like they get off to a hot start. They have the home course advantage and you know Europe, as I just said, 7 or 8 last Ryder Cups. They’ve started slow and you’ll hear this at times it doesn’t perform. Boom. That’s
