It wasn’t the start to Day 1 the Ryder Cup Team USA and captain Keegan Bradley envisioned. And it’s not the start to Day 2 the Americans needed.
Day 1 ended with Europe taking a 5.5-2.5 lead, thanks to the rock-solid play of Tommy Fleetwood, the brilliance of Jon Rahm and the aura of Rory McIlroy.

And so far, Day 2 has produced more of the same. Fleetwood and McIlroy dispatched of Collin Morikawa and Harris English, again, which will bring out the questions for Team USA captain Keegan Bradley as to why he rolled out the same pairing to suffer the same fate two days in a row. Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton continued their brilliance. And world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler still hasn’t produced a victory for Team USA.
As the morning foursomes come to a close, Europe now holds an 8.5-3.5 lead after going 3-1 in the morning session. More importantly, Europe now needs just 5.5 more points to retain the Ryder Cup.
