BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – The Pacific men’s golf program makes its farthest journey of the 2025-26 season, taking part in the inaugural Jim DeLapa Collegiate, hosted by Central Michigan at Point O’ Woods Golf & Country Club from Sunday, Sept. 28 to Monday, Sept. 29.
In addition to host Central Michigan, the Tigers will be competing against Chicago State, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Florida Gulf Coast, Grand Canyon, Michigan, Northern Illinois, Princeton, San Francisco, San Jose State and Saint Mary’s.
“We are excited to be participating in this new tournament,” Pacific head coach John Cook said. “The history of Point O’ Woods is outstanding! It will be a great test for the team, and we are looking forward to playing in such an amazing venue.”
The field poses as a competitive one with Princeton and Florida Gulf Coast both competing at the Amherst Regional in last year’s NCAA Championship. Grand Canyon also was at a NCAA Regional qualifier last season along with Pacific. Cincinnati, Michigan and FGCU all are receiving votes in the GCAA Rankings from last week’s poll.
The Tigers are coming off a tough outing at The Tindall last time out, posting an eighth place finish among a competitive field.
Sophomore Felix Bouchard headlines the Tigers’ lineup for a second straight tournament. Bouchard looks for a bounce-back performance after carding a two-over par earlier in the week.
No. 2 and No. 3 in the lineup finds the likes of redshirt junior Deitrek Gill and senior Timothy Jung. The duo finished The Tindall with two-under pars and placed among the top 20 of the individual leaderboard.
Senior Ian Fritz returns to the Pacific lineup after appearing in the season opener at the Palouse Collegiate. Junior Justin Bai rounds out the quintet of Tiger competitors ready to swing in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
The two-day tournament is set up to be a Par 70. Point O’ Woods has hosted the prestigious Western Amateur 41 times and is recognized as one of the Midwest’s most famous golf courses.
Sunday will showcase the first two rounds, beginning with a 9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. PT shotgun start time. The final round on Monday will begin with an 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT shotgun format. Live scoring for the Jim DeLapa Collegiate can be found here.
