Hi, this is Steve from Adabout Golf and I’m at Golf HQ in Takapuna and today I’m reviewing some really unique putters called Paradox Putters and they’re by a brand called Breakthrough Golf Technology or BGT and as you can see they’re uh pretty funky looking. So BGT putters and the Paradox putter, they’re part of this new revolution of zero torque putters like the Lab putters. So if I spin this on its shaft, there’s no preference to the way that the head is going to settle. So it’s not going to have a slight arc. It’s not going to have a heavy arc. It’s not going to be a straight through. So it’s actually what they call zero torque. So the BGT Paradox, as well as being zero torque in its design, also uses technology called principal access technology. And what that means is that when you address put the putter down and address the ball, it’s going to stay straight to the ball. not only at address but going back and through. So the waiting of the shaft is designed to correct anything that goes out or back or slight arc. So it’s designed to keep it straight back straight through. Uh a bit like if you’ve got a Tesla self-driving car and it’s got a sensor when it detects that you’re going into another lane, it will selforrect. Same thing with this putter. It’s designed to actually self-correct uh any sort of stray back side sort of movement. It should just keep it on plane. So, it gives you a better chance of actually hitting the ball in the center. So, looking at the blade putter, if we’re looking looking down on the putter, they actually only use one dot for alignment, but it’s quite good. You’ve got the black and the silver contrast between the aluminium and the stainless steel. So, I think that actually really helps with um visual alignment. And if we look at the face of the putter, it’s actually the milling in the center part is actually the BGT logo. And you’ve just got striped milling on the sides. And then at the bottom you’ve got paradox. And you’ve got the logo again. Yeah. Here you can really see the wedge. So more weighting here than in the heel. [Music] Looking at the mallet putter, you’ve also got uh the stainless steel and the silver and then you’ve got the aluminum. Again, you’ve got the BGT logo engraved into the face. But what they’ve done at the top for the mallet putter, you’ve actually got two dots for alignment and then you’ve got the silver and then at the bottom you’ve got paradox and then the logo and then BGT. [Music] The handle itself is um there’s no tapering. It’s just straight, but it’s a it’s a nice sort of thicker style grip. And it’s got kind of like a little texture here, which makes it quite quite tacky, which is nice. And then your shaft. This is the standard base um model shaft. Uh it doesn’t have the stability shaft that BGT are famous for, but the model up from this, which we don’t have yet at Golf HQ, uh it has that shaft which sort of it tapers and then it gets thinner at the bottom. So, first just looking at the putter cover for the Paradox uh blade putter. It’s kind of a pleather type finish. Really nice and soft though. Uh and inside very plush and it’s got a magnetic uh fastening system, which I love. I hate those Velcro ones. Uh, so let’s just chuck that in there. Yeah, secure, nice and tight. You got Paradox down here. Got the logo here. Embossing of BGT here and some patterns here. Yeah, really nice. Nice head cover for the blade. And looking at the head cover for the mallet of the Paradox. Um, again, same pleather sort of finish. It’s got a sort of butterfly um, fastening system and it’s again magnet magnets, which is cool. Got the big par paradox or sorry BGT logo on the top. Paradox down here. Pattern here. Um yeah, fits really well. Easy to put on, easy to take off. Yeah, I think they’ve done a great job on the head covers for both putters, actually. Okay, I’m going to have a few putts with the blade version of the Paradox. [Music] Really soft feel off the face. You’ve just got the one alignment dot at the top. Very nice grip. Love it. Um, it’s a straight sort of paddle grip. There’s no sort of uh curves or width changes up and down, but really soft. Very nice. [Music] It’s going to go right. You might make it. Just go go go. Pretty bloody good. All right, looking now at the mallet version of the Paradox. This one’s actually got three dots on the top instead of one for alignment. But I like how you’ve got the black and the silver. That also helps with um clearing your alignment. Same sort of feel. Obviously, it’s the same milled face. I guess it’s just a choice of whether you’re a sort of mallet type player or blade uh prefer the look of the blade, but um [Music] kind of think this one’s got a little bit more forgiveness. Not much. I think they’re both very, very similar. [Music] Same grip on this butter. There you go. That’s my review of the BGT Paradox putters. As you can see, uh, very unique looking style putters. You’ve got the mallet style, you’ve got the blade style putter.
