7:58 a.m. ET — Russell Henley & Scottie Scheffler (USA) vs. Robert MacIntyre & Viktor Hovland (Europe)

In fairness to Keegan Bradley and his reselection of Morikawa-English, Luke Donald is doing similar with his final duo for this morning’s foursomes. It’s just a little easier to do that when you’re three points up.

MacIntyre and Hovland struggled at times against Schauffele and Cantlay before sitting out Friday afternoon.

The pair gets to go again now — as do Scheffler and Henley, although there is a spotlight on how suited this duo is to the odd-even hole split at Bethpage Black; especially if Henley tees off from the first again, as he did yesterday.

Those longer, predominantly left to right odd-numbered holes versus the right to left even holes feels a more natural fit if Scheffler tackles the first tee this time.

Scheffler also lost his fourball with J.J. Spaun against Jon Rahm and Sepp Straka in the afternoon, although there were some late signs the world No. 1 was starting to improve his level slightly.

Boy, do the U.S. need him to turn the heat up much higher on a pivotal Saturday.
