The high school golf post season is here as teams from around the area try to make a run at state. But first, conference titles are on the line. The Big Northern Girls Conference tournament teeing off at Timber Point in Popular Grove. Wnebago junior Jolie Williams knocks down the putt. She finishes 21st. Dixon’s Reese Damman chipping on number 10. She rolls that to within just a couple of feet of the cup, shooting an 86. Good for sixth place individually, helping the Duchesses take third as a team. Byron Jr. Elena Brandt with her approach shot on 10. And this one is a beauty. She shoots an 80. That was good for third place individually. And those Tigers showing their stripes out there. Her little sister Gwen Bran also having a good day with a top 10 finish. Byron taking second as a team. Oregon’s Annayia Sarver lining up the birdie putt on 11. She knocks it down, finishing fifth with an 82. Rockford Lutheran’s Maline Bennett shoots a 79 finishing second individually and her teammate Ella Pichial leading the way for Lutheran steady as they come with a 73 to take medalist honors and it was a big day for the Lady Saders as a team winning the team title by 51 strokes.
