Dyken Park is the place where the Astros fans still have faith. They seem to have a standing reservation in the postseason. It is in jeopardy. Biggest game of the year for them against maybe the MVP in the American League. Jason Alexander gets the ball for the Astros today. And Alexander, he’s been nothing short of spectacular for the Astros this season. A 2.76 erra over 12 games, 11 starts. Everything he’s doing right now is perfect for what the Astros need. They’ve won his last nine starts. Well, here he is. Cal Raleigh set more Mariner history last night with home run number 57. Swing and a mess. Got him on the change up and Raleigh down on strikes and they’re a two away. All right, two out, nobody on for Julio Rodriguez. First pitch, bouncing ball left side, waiting on it. Duban, he’s got it and guns it over to first in time. And for the first time in this series, the Astros keep the Mariners off the board in the first. Logan Gilbert gets the ball for Seattle today. 3.53 erra in 23 starts this season. This is his highest strikeout rate of his entire career so far. So that gives you an indication of where his stuff lies right now. Jos Altuve leads it off against him. He’s in a leadoff spot with Jeremy Pñena not in the lineup with the left oblique soreness. Jose jumps on the first one. That’s the corner and a great start for the Astros. A double for Jos Altuve. That’s why he’s leading off. Brilliant. Astros lose the first two. 1 for13 runners in scoring position in this series. And boy, that leadoff double is still standing out there at second base. It’s not only the leadoff double, it’s five pitches in. You already have two outs. Two out. Altuve still at second for Jesus Sanchez. Swinging a ground ball up the first base line. Fair ball deep behind the bag. Long flip by Naylor over to Logan covering first on the play and it’s in time to get Sanchez and that will retire the side and Logan pitches around a leadoff double. This is why I love this game because in a day where we are just enamored with exit velocity, it’s a bunt infield single and a swinging bunt right here that J Palano can beat out with his legs to get runners at first and second. Again, no outs. Just putting the ball in play and that’ll bring up Gino. It’s over right field on a line. That one’s going to get down and Naylor didn’t get a great read on it, but Euano Suarez delivers that single. So, it’s bases loaded. That one was a lot different than the first two. Well, one of the things the Mariners have done so well in this series is scoring first and scoring early. They’ve done it in the first two games and now a golden opportunity right here to get on the board. Alexander with a 32 count to Robas with the bases loaded. No, he missed badly and he walks in a run. Jorge Palanco will touch home. Seattle on top here in the second. One to nothing. The bases remain loaded for JP Crawford. A great start again. Scoring first, scoring early and gets some more right here. Only one out in the inning. The one-two pitch swing and a well- hit ball deep to right field. Cole going back looking up and goodbye baseball. Grandma, get out the right bread and mustard. It is grand salami time. JP Crawford with his second grand slam of the season, 12th home run of the year. And the Mariners now lead the Astros five to nothing here in the top half of the second. That was a big blow. JP Crawford ninth place hitter for the Mariners. Crawford silencing this crowd early. And home runs have certainly been an issue for Alexander. That’s the 10th home run Alexander has allowed in 12 starts with the Astros. Goes for Raina. Will finally. And look at him look to the sky. He breaks out of his hitless streak on the road. He was 0 for 21. That’s how it’s going for the AMS early in this one as he is aboard. And if you’re the Mariners, you’re looking at this as an opportunity to really bury the Astros and put yourself in really prime position to to win the division in the next few days. Swing and a well hit ball down the right field line. Stay fair. Goodbye baseball. Holy smokes. He does it again. Number 58 for Cal Raleigh. Getting closer to the bambino. Cal Rowley with a two-run screaming line drive. He is rampaging through the record books here in 2025 and writes another chapter in a storybook season. And the Mariners now lead the Astros 7 to nothing. And the Astros season is slipping through their fingers at the moment. Logan Gilbert has been cruising through two and 15 pitches. Zack Cole will start things off for the Astros. Cole wasn’t in the original lineup that the Astros had. Break pitch. Hit well right center field. Did he get it? Yes, he did. Over the bullpen into the seats. Zack Cole big blast and the Stros are on the board. And this can be something special. Well, they need something special. And now when Jeremy Pand goes down and he gets told during batting practice, you’re in. He doesn’t miss that high fast ball. How about second time around eight pitches for the walk and now Korea going on his eighth pitch as well in this at bat. Castro’s culture is in these two plate appearances. They’re down seven to one and these two veterans who played in so many postseason games are battling. Strike three called frozen steamed in a fast ball at 97. Some serious heat. Strike out number two for Logan. That’s his second out. And you know Paradius after popping up his last time up on the first pitch. Will probably take a pitch or two. Swung on and missed. The bat goes pinwheeling next to Logan. The ball gets away from Cal. It goes to the back stop. Cal picks it up, but Paradus is going to be safe at first base. So he’s on first. Aluve is on second. And now Sanchez at the plate and this ball driven to left center but Rodriguez is there now he stops and makes the play. They will strand a couple kind of a wild inning. JP Crawford going to lead things off for the Mariners. He has hit a grand slam already and that one is on the ground field and Dubon up fires Walker scoop. Nice play by Mauricio Duon at short. Yeah that was smoked by Crawford. A change up down and away. But Dubon Johnny on the spot and a and a good grab of that short hop throw by Walker. Logan Gilbert 75 pitches. Back out there’s Christian Walker one for two with a single. Swung on and miss. Strike out for Logan Gilbert. Fourth punch out of the ball game. That’s his second out here in the sixth. He’s just looked very comfortable for most of the night. Swung on. Line drive. One hop right to short stop. JP smothers it. Fires to first. That’s the out. It’s a one, two, three inning and Logan Gilbert has taken the baton tonight and he has been excellent against the Astros. Logan Gilbert six innings of oneun ball. That’s the only earned run starters have allowed against the Astros in this three-game series. Maybe this is the inning they they really peck away at the 7 to1 deficit. They get the right guys coming up in Altuve and Korea. Eight and nine get on for the top of the order. Now, can the Astros get a hit with runners in scoring position? They are 0 for five so far tonight and 1 for 18 with runners in scoring position in this series. Breaking ball goes the other way. Base hit. That’ll score a run. 7-2 ball game. Altuve spanks it the other way. Jose Altuve given a few extra lives. Delivered. It’s 7-2 and two men are on. Ferguson’s got to come out. Looks like Vargas is going to come in with Koreah coming up. Carlos Vargas into the game. Gave up the grand slam to Pena yesterday. Two on for Kareah. 72 game. Swung on ground ball a shortstop. Could be two. JP underhand tossed to one. Palano is relay to first in time. Double play. That is exactly what Vargas wanted. Cus 0 for three. Reached on a strike three wild pitch in the third. That ball left field lifted and no doubt about it. Big fly. Esau Parades. Another one to left. Activated just a couple of days ago. He said he missed the Landry Crawford boxes. Boy, did the Astros miss him. Aaron is one out away from a victory. One out away from a sweep of Houston. Here in Houston this stretch and the branch 32 fast ball strike three called and it’s over. The Mariners win it seven-3 over the Houston Astros. They sweep aside Houston. The Mariners are now three games in front of the Astros in the American League West with six to play. And the Mariners are now two games in front of the Detroit Tigers for that uh second spot. Holy smokes, what a run for the Mariners. They have now won 14 of their last 15

Heck the astros!!!!!!!!!!
The management of Mariners took aggressive steps to insure offense would score runs. Astros cheap it out and now they are allowing 5.3 runs while scoring 2.7 runs. Do the math.
What can possibly be said about Raleigh's incredible season… It is truly amazing to watch history unfold right before our eyes
Big surprise now that the Mariners are the hottest team in baseball. Whenever they can play both small ball and homerun ball their offense seems unstoppable. Other times this season they just looked kind of lost.
イチローのルーキーイヤー以来の地区優勝はもうすぐだ!頑張れマリナーズ!
As a Yankee fan I congratulate the Mariners on their sweep of the Astros! I'm suprised to see them falling apart but I won't complain! 😂, hope to see the Mariners face the yankees in the ALDS or ALCS! Win or lose it would be a great series 🙂
Every Astro choked a typical Houston team
It's over of the season
UP THE TRIDENTS! 🔱
Mariners sweep in Houston. Next, the pathetic Rockies. Keep breaking those homer records, Cal Raleigh !
It’s been 30 years, but the Mariners are ALIVE again in ‘25!! Holy Smoke, get out the rye bread and mustard, grandma!!
I hope Mariners go to the world series this year! They deserve it! I hope we get Mariners vs Brewers!
astros still winning mariners gonna choke
Soy fanatica de los Astros y me siento muy decepcionada por la manera en que han perdido!!!
BIIIIIIG DUMPAAAAA
Do not know which one is better:
– Houston Covids crashing out of the Play Offs
– Mariners feasting on a free Texas BBQ for 3 days in a row
留友看
Vargas and Ferguson are serious weak spots in this bullpen I'm afraid..otherwise what a sick serious this mariner lineup is dangerous
Lifelong Dodgers supporter, I’m cheering for this Mariners team to go all the way to the WS!! 🔥🔥
The weekend was a trifecta for Seattle sports with wins coming from the Mariners , Seahawks and the dogs !
Astros fan here: Congratulations Mariners! I’ve been waiting for this to happen! I thought it’ll be the Rangers again but it was you guys. It’s not over yet, but all I can say is finish this season strong. Of course I’m always rooting for my Astros but if you guys make a deep playoff run this post season, I’m all for it! I would rather you guys than the Rangers or Yankees to be honest. Again congratulations! 👍🏾
I feel bad for the mariners fans.. they really think they gonna make it far 😂
