With the sport’s most feared conditions, built to challenge the best. And this week, it’s America’s home course. The world is watching as the Americans and the Europeans square off. Not for individual glory, but for pride, for country, and for tradition. Where the sports top players battle for the game’s most coveted hardware. You’re not here to play it safe. You’re here to make history. This is golf’s greatest rivalry, the RDER Cup. Please welcome your host for the 2025 RDER Cup opening ceremony, Carson Daly. Hello. What’s happening everybody? Welcome to the 45th RDER Cup. Let me hear you. Oh, we’ve got great energy, great suspense. There is nothing like the RDER Cup. What an absolute honor it is to be here today at Beth Page State Park on Long Island, New York, surrounded with all of you guys here for this unforgettable event. It’s been 730 days of waiting, but the moment is finally here. We’re back. The RDER Cup is here. And to kick things off, we got a special message from the officials of PG of America and Ryder Cup Europe. Take a look. Knowledge is power. And here power is found within the pages. Volumes filled with enduring characters, epic adventures, and the realization that pursuit of destiny connects us all. And like a classic work of literature, the writer cup is a living manuscript. Each venue a stage. Each player a protagonist. Every rivalry a tale of grit and redemption. Oh, that was unbelievable. That’s what the RDER Cup is all about. And that is what makes the RDER Cup so special. A cup for the Americans. Administered as a joint venture of the PG of America and Ryder Cup Europe and named after a man who sold seat pockets for a penny. Samuel Ryder’s cup has blossomed from a simple exhibition into a global phenomenon. Forged as a symbol of victory and a momento of achievement, it’s hard to imagine a small 4-PB trophy could carry so much weight, but it symbolizes the purest parts of the game. principles steadfast after almost a century of play. And with RERS’s close friend and PJ professional Abe Mitchell forever enshrined on the top of the trophy, the Golden Prize provides a tangible connection to those who love this game. Since its inception, unforgettable moments have defined the Ryder Cup narrative. Kiwa. The United States wins the Rder Cup. The Country Club. I’m a big believer in fate. I have a good feeling about this. Looks good. Oh my. Just amazing performance. What a comeback by Justin Leonard. Madina this afternoon. Just cannot miss. Pis whistling streets run. Theaters of competition, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. Passion on full display. Now the cup returns to the Empire State. But this is different. This is New York and this course it’s dark night. Tilling brute is no walk in the park, but at least you’ve been warned for this is the people’s country club and their voices will be heard. If you really think about it, sport is the perfect fiction and the RDER Cup a worthy muse. It’s pros and poetry, romance and drama, a thriller, an odyssey in every genre in between. And yet, this quest is real. All culminating in a champions coronation of golf’s most monumental pursuit. The cup is back in the United States hands. The stage is set and the 45th chapter of Ryder Cup Glory will be written this week here at Beth Page Black. How about that? The stage is set. What a powerful message. Keep it going for my co-host Kira Dixon. Kira, come on out and say hello to everybody. Hello everybody. Hey Carson. Did you see that? I mean, I got so fired up for that. The state of New York, the Dark Knight, the golf course, Beth Paige, Europe, America, the Ryder Cup. It’s incredible. Thank you so much for being here. What’s your favorite part of the Ryder Cup? Let me think about that. I’m gonna say the fans are my absolute agreed favorite part of the RDER Cup. Let’s check in with the fans. Where’s team Europe? Are you here? I heard you during that. Team Europe, come on. Make some noise. Not bad. Europe. Bringing the heat. Starting the singing early. But now, United States, are you ready? Sorry guys, I said United States, are you ready? Europe’s ready. The United States is ready. I think we’re all ready. We are ready for this. All right. Well, let’s go ahead and and take a moment now to recognize some incredible teams who helped set the stage earlier this week. First, we’d like to give a shout out. There’s 24 talented junior golfers competing actually right now at the historic Nassau Country Club not far from here in the 13th Junior Rider Cup. And this is a global competition. It showcases the very best in junior golf. It’s a a stepping stone to future Rder Cup and Soulheim Cup players. So best of luck to the United States team led by captain Susie Wheelup led by captain Steve Gallagher. The competition we understand today neck andneck and it’ll end tomorrow with their single matches. Good luck to all the junior writer cups. And let’s take a look at the incredible week they’ve enjoyed so far which started right here at Beth Page on Sunday. Check it out. Now I ain’t looking for handouts. I’m looking to stand out. Got the vision coming. Watch how it pans out. I’ been writing my plans down. Trying to stay focused. Put out the notice. Who the me hands down? Yeah. No time for arguments. Cut out the politics though. It’s all my competence. I could back it away. With or without your Oh, you try to make me say now there’s nothing you can say cuz I’m away with or without my Oh, you try to make me say there’s nothing you can say. But I’m away for the week. I see you before I speak. Radio. You try to make me stay and there’s nothing you can say cuz I’m away. There’s nothing you can say but I’m amazing. Give it up for the Junior RDER Cup teams. We’ll be seeing them here, I’m sure, very soon. Next, some teams played here at Beth Page today. So, give it up for our 2025 European All-Star team and the 2025 United States All-Star team. These teams brought the spirit, the competition, the passion, and now they’re ready to sit back and watch the ultimate showdown unfold. And Carson, that’s not all. There are some very special others that we need to take a second to recognize. Please give a round of applause for the officials of RDER Cup Europe. and the officials of the PGA of America. And please give a huge round of applause to our players, families, partners, and coaches. And Kira, Beth Paige is amazing. I can’t believe we’re here on Long Island. Beth Paige Black. What a golf course. Uh, keep it going for New York. Your friend in mine in attendance, Governor Kathy Hokll. Governor, thank you so much for being here. And thank you to your team, too, for getting us ready for the RDER Cup in New York. And lastly, we would like to recognize the representatives from the six branches of the United States military supporting us today. Please give a round of applause for our representatives from the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force. Thank you for your service. All right, let’s meet the people you are all here to see. Team Europe, led by Captain Luke Donald and his five vice captains. Let’s meet the team. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. All right, please welcome to the stage your 2025 European Rder Cup team. Heat. Heat. There you go. team, please be seated. And ready to take back the RDER Cup. We have the 2025 United States RDER Cup team led by Captain Keegan Bratley and his five vice captains. Let’s meet the team. Heat. Heat. Please welcome to the stage the 2025 United States Rider Cup team. USA. USA. team, please take your seats. Wow, the amount of talent on this stage is unbelievable. The amount of passion in the crowd is absolutely unbelievable. We cannot wait to see how all of you play out here this week. And now to introduce the European team. Please welcome to the podium, Captain Donald. Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, and to all golf fans around the world, it is truly an honor to stand here today as captain of the European Rder Cup team. To lead these 12 men once again, 12 of Europe’s finest continues to be one of the greatest privileges of my life. We we come to you this week not just as individual players from nine different nations, but as one team. A team defined by history, by unity, and by a belief that we are playing for something far greater than ourselves. The Ryder Cup means so much to each and every one of us. It is unlike anything else in our sport. It is not about prize money or world ranking points. It’s about pride. It’s about representing your flag, your shirt, and the legacy you leave behind. We play for our families, our teammates, our countries, our continent, and for the generations before us who made this event what it is today. The American team is rightly proud of their heritage. But so are we. Our European legacy is rooted in resilience, in togetherness, and improving people wrong. Time and again, we’ve shown that when we come together as one with a shared purpose, we can achieve remarkable things. And what a place to try and do it again. New York City. New York is a place where if you show up with talent and a fighting spirit, the city will get behind you. Although maybe not if you’re wearing European blue this week. We know what awaits us. Beth Paige isn’t exactly shy. This is New York sports country. Passionate, lo, loyal, and ferociously loud. And rightly so. You, the fans here, respect effort over ego. You show up for those who grind, for those who fight, and for those who rise to the big occasions. And you make us earn every cheer. We may not be your team, but we will give you something to respect, something to admire, and maybe by the end of this week, something to cheer for. Beth Paige Beth Paige is the perfect venue for this contest. A public golf course, a state park where thousands of fans will gather shoulder-to-shoulder. It’s a course for the people, and a stage where players on both sides will try to prove they belong. Make no mistake, our players are ready. Every one of them has earned their spot not through entitlement but through excellence. They face pressure and risen to the moment. And this week they will carry the hopes of an entire continent. Two years ago we wrote a chapter in Rome. This week in New York we aim to write history. We didn’t come here just to be a part of the show. We came here to earn our place in Ryder Cup folklore. We’re not just playing to win. We’re playing for each other. And for every young golfer back home who dreams about one day representing team Europe. We know it won’t be easy. Winning away never is. Only four European teams have done it before. But that’s the beauty of sport. The toughest roads lead to the greatest rewards. We are fueled by something money cannot buy. Purpose, brotherhood, and a responsibility to honor those who came before us while inspiring those whose time is yet to come. Before I introduce the 12 men who I believe will do that, I would like to say a few thank yous to Governor of State New York, Kathy Hokll, Hope Knight, the CEO of Empire State Development, and Tom Dapoli, state controller. Thank you for your incredible hospitality. Also, thank you to Don Ray, Derek Sprag, and everyone at the PG of America for hosting us this week. To Keegan, Jillian, and your two boys, Logan, and Cooper, Dian, and I have really valued our friendship over the years. And we know that bond will last well beyond this week, no matter the outcome. It’s been a pleasure to share this Ryder Cup captaincy with you. Thank you for your friendship and all the memories along the way. To the 12 players of Team USA, your talent and passion are never in doubt. We know you’ll bring your best. We promise to do the same. I also want to take a moment to thank the people behind the scenes who walk every step with us. Our caddies the ones who feel every shot, share every pressure moment, and bring clarity when the chaos sets in. You are essential to our success. And to our incredible backroom team staff, your tireless work day in and day out is what makes this team run. We’re all stronger because of you. To the wise partners and families of our players, thank you. Your support, patience, and sacrifice allow these men to compete at the highest level. We know the RDER Cup isn’t just a big week for the players, it’s a big week for you, too. And of course, to my very own family, to my wife Diane, my girls Gigi, Sophia, and Ellie, thank you for always standing by my side. Your love and support mean everything to me and I love you guys so much. I would like to introduce my five vice captains now who play such an important part in everything we do. So first please stand up from Denmark, Thomas Bjorn. From Italy, the Eduardo the Molinari brothers, Eduardo and Francesco. from Sweden, Alex Norin. And finally from Spain, Jose Maria Alathabal. And now introducing the players representing the United States. Please welcome Captain Bradley. USA. USA. Thank you. Thank you. Hello, New York. It’s good to be back. Go Johnnys. Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen. Good afternoon. To say I never expected to be standing here as the RDER Cup captain is an understatement. When I got the call, I was stunned, but more than that, I was honored. Honored to lead this team, honored to represent our country, and honored to share this experience with my friend Luke Donald. As someone who grew up in the game, this moment is surreal. My dad, Mark, is a proud PGA of America professional. My aunt Pat is an LPGA legend and a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. For us, golf is the family business. But the RDER Cup became personal for me in 1999 at Brooklyn. I was 13 years old, perched on my dad’s shoulders, watching Justin Rose miracle putt drop on 17. When the crowd erupted on 18, my dad let me join in on the celebration. That was the moment golf stopped being a game and started being a calling. That day changed my life. I come from New England, but I went to St. John’s and that’s where I fell in love with New York. I mean, we’ve come a long way from 166th Street in Utopia Parkway in Queens, haven’t we? The grit, the grind, the rhythm of the city taught me how to compete, how to lead, and what passion for your cause really feels like. There is nothing like New York City. And yes, the stories are true. My teammates and I used to play Beth Paige Black when it was closed on Mondays. We’d park by the maintenance shed and play the inner loop, holes three through 14. One day during my senior year, my teammate George Lotus and I decided we were going to go over the road to play 15, 16, and 17, and 18, the holes we really wanted to play, but hadn’t been allowed to for four years. We were young, passionate, and convinced we were invisible. Turns out we weren’t. The park service came. We got in a lot of trouble, but it was worth it. Just ask anyone in the Nassau Players Club how special it is to play Beth Paige Black. These memories, Brooklyn, Beth Page, New York, they shaped me. But they also taught me something deeper. That golf at its best is more than just a game. The Ryder Cup isn’t just about golf. It’s about pride. It’s about legacy. It’s about standing shoulderto-shoulder with your teammates who believe in each other. Fight for each other, and understand that this is bigger than any one of us. As we prepare to tee it up on Friday, I want to thank the people who made this journey possible. To Governor Hokll, to the teams of New York, to the teams of the New York State Parks, the New York State Police, local law enforcement, first responders, and the Empire State Development Corporation. Thank you for your unwavering support and tireless efforts in preparing Beth Paige Black and helping us deliver an experience truly worthy of the RDER Cup. To my wife Jillian, your love, your strength, and your belief in me make everything possible. Thank you for being my rock and the heart of our home for Logan and Cooper. To the wives and partners of our US team members, thank you for your sacrifices, your support, and your steady presence. This journey is yours, too. To to the PG of America, I’m so grateful that you trusted me with this responsibility and this incredible honor. Don and Derek, thank you. To the many one of you, thank you for being so generous with your time. To the great Larry Nelson, thank you for agreeing to be our Rder Cup ambassador. Having you around our team this week inspires us to be our best on and off the golf course. To our vice captains, Jim Furick, Kevin Kizner, Webb Simpson, Grant Snedker, and Gary Woodland. Your wisdom and leadership prepared provided prepared us for this moment. to our Caddies. You are the heartbeat of this team. You carry more than just bags. You carry trust, strategy, and all of us. Let’s give these boys a big round of applause. Thank you, Catties. To the European team and everyone associated with Ryder Cup Europe, thank you. Your passion elevates this competition. To Luke Donald and his wife Diane, thank you for your friendship. Luke, you’re the ultimate professional and competitor. When I first came on came out on tour, you were the number one player in the world. Yet, you always made time for me, and I’ll never forget it. You leave with quiet strength and undeniable class, and I admire that deeply. To my St. John’s teammates, Coach Darby, and best friends, thank you for being here. To Dr. Dr. Glenn Moroca. After my senior year at St. John’s, I was working in the bag room at Wheatley Hills Golf Club, not far from here. Doc was a member who saw something in me and when I needed help the most, you came through for me. To Wheatley Hills and Doc, thank you. You helped make this career and this moment possible. To our 12 players, you’re bonded in a way I’ve never seen before. I’ve learned so much from you about how to live, about how to compete, and about how to lead. You’ve changed me as a player and as a person. You’ve inspired me every day, and being your captain is an honor of a lifetime. Thank you. We know the atmosphere this weekend will be electric, rockous, and yes, respectful. That’s part of what makes the RDER Cup so special on both sides of the pond. I’ve never forgotten what it felt like to run onto that green at Brooklyn, watching a team come together in a way that changed my life. The moment lit a fire in me, and this week, that same Rder Cup fire will fuel our team. It will drive us through every match, every moment, and every challenge. It’s the fire that lives in every boy or girl with an impossible dream. And it’s the fire that makes the RDER Cup unlike anything else in sports. Over the next three days, we’ll play with heart, we’ll play with honor, and we’ll play with every dream sparked by the fire of this competition. Because the RDER Cup doesn’t just test skill, it reveals soul. We are on a quest to reclaim the RDER Cup. We face a mighty opponent. The challenge will be fierce. The pressure will be real. And now, it’s my honor to introduce to you the 2025 United States Rder Cup team from Louisiana. Sam Burns from California. Patrick Kentlay from Texas. Bryson Dshambo from Georgia. Harris English from Georgia. Russell Henley from North Carolina. Ben Griffin from California. Colin Morawa from California. Xander Schoffle from California. JJ Spawn from Kentucky. Justin Thomas. And from New Jersey, Scotty Shepler. And from New York, your very own Cameron Young. I came to Beth Page as an 18-year-old kid with a dream, but I never got this far in it. To come back here as a Ryder Cup captain is beyond my wildest dreams. Beth Paige Black is known as the People’s Country Club. It’s been called New York’s home course. But this week, with your passion and your energy, you’re going to make it America’s home course. Thank you. Go USA. Give it up for Captain Bradley and Team USA. Ladies and gentlemen, now please rise for the United States national anthem performed today by the renowned vocalist and recording artist who has toured the world with Billy Joel, Long Island’s own Mike Deljudis. Mike. Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early life, what so proudly we held at the twilight last gleaming, who’s brought stripes and bright stars through the peril. us fight. If that doesn’t fire you up to watch some golf, I don’t know. New York, Long Island. We’re finally here and we’re ready to roll. Beth Paige is New York’s home course. You like action? We got 24 guys ready to dish it out with the eyes of the world watching. Oh my god. These select few will make their best play to be considered RDER Cup legends. If it’s the respect you want, here’s your shot. For you rookies, floor is yours. Make yourself a household name for the stalwarts. This is where you elevate your legacy to unforgettable heights. 1. Is it just me, but this opening ceremony was underwhelming compared to the 2023 one in Italy or the 2018 one in France? There they had more of a festive ceremony with opera singers, artists and all. And the crowds were perhaps 5 times bigger?

And the fans in general can't be compared. European fan culture is unmatched. All the clever, playful and funny chants and banters. While Americans just chant USA USA…and sing their national anthem

  2. Are golf fans in America just on average mostly right-wing leaning or why did the fans boo the Governor of New York so loudly? New York itself is a very Democratic-neaning state after all.

  3. While Rory is one of my very favorite golfers, must go with the US team with Scottie! I was thrilled to watch Rory win the Masters! Also loved Fleetwood’s great Fed Ex win!

  4. Keegan focked up and said Justin Rose's putt on 17 in 1999. He meant Justin Leonard 😆

    What a hack

  5. Even before the tournament has begun, Europe has already won in one of the categories – intellect.

  6. Luke D – top man, top speech, top everything!! exudes quality – the perfect Ryder cup captain!! – Good luck Europe, Good Luck USA, let everyone enjoy the best sporting event ever!!!

  7. The crowd at the opening ceremony disappointed me. Where were all the rowdy New York fans. They couldn’t even get the USA chants right. What worries me is that the prices for this Ryder cup were higher than previous Ryder cups. If only rich people are coming to this even you know the crowd noise will be weaker

  8. Pathetic Americans needed go change the course to compliment their strengths. US cheating like their own president. Country is a joke.
