Just an Average Golfer giving unbiased opinions on all things golf, product tests, Golf travel vlogs and golf news!
Right, let’s get the golf shoes on. Let’s get out there because uh yes, I’m out in a van. I’m back up at Hell Golf Club. The sun is shining and I’m about to test these three products that I have hit already on Trackman and they perform incredibly well. So, if you genuinely want really forgiving golf clubs that still have incredibly efficient ball speeds, so they’re user friendly, but they come at a budget price, but without compromise, that’s almost the summary done. You can go. If you want to find out a little bit more detail about why I think this lineup from Tour Edge is so special, then stick around. I’ll get the shoes on and we’ll go and get on the fairway. So hopefully you’re still here and are going to stick around for a little while longer because one of the things I didn’t tell you in that intro and perhaps you didn’t spot is those three clubs are all very very different and they’re not your regular hybrids nor fairway woods. But I do believe that each one of them plays a significant part in helping you as an average golfer make this game just a little bit easier. Right. First of all, before we go any further, I’ve got a bit of a question for you. And uh it kind of relates to not just Tour Edge, but other brands that you might be as familiar with, let’s say. So, a lot of people when you review something that is uh a driver that’s 500 quid, they comment that it’s too expensive, the golf industry’s gone mad, blah blah blah. I get that. But what I’ll also say is the minute you review something that’s slightly uh less ordinary, a bit off the beaten track, then there is less interest first of all in the video. So lots of people just by seeing the product that I’m reviewing in today’s video right at the very beginning will have already switched off, believe it or not. And that’s why it’s very hard and almost contradictory that you review products, but then people say they want one thing, but then really they don’t watch. and actually want the other. So tell me, are you really interested in this kind of product? And is Tour Edge of appeal to you? Because believe me, this is every bit as good as anything I’ve tested so far at a hugely different price point. That ball flight on these things is absolutely ridiculous. And I say these things, it’s actually a little bit long, but we’re really going to pay some great attention as to what this hybrid is in terms of the loft that’s on it is the key factor for me and why it’s one of the most impressive performers within this lineup. But before we go any further, I want to get to that price point. So, let’s stick up on screen now the prices of this Tour Edge lineup versus some of its major competitors. And what you’ll see is there is a huge difference in that price point that I’m talking about. So the obvious question is what are the compromises that we have to make? Why is one brand charging such a significantly higher figure than the other? What are we losing out on with this Toridge 725 lineup? So this is a prime example of why brands such as Tored still don’t get the recognition, support, and sales that they uh they warrant really in terms of performance. Well, if you haven’t got it, that’s because most of us are like sheep and all we do is we follow. We follow those major brands and unfortunately we can’t break away from the norm. Can you believe I’m having to squint because the sun is in my eyes and it’s just half past 8 here at Hollywood Golf Club. Anyway, back to the tour edge. What is the compromise? Well, first of all, let’s just have a look at these things visually. Shelf appeal in my opinion looks superb. I was a big fan of the 725 Dryer lineup. And again, this is sort of the uh the visual is the same. The crown is probably as good as anything that’s out there. Maybe even my favorite crown address. I love that matte finish. Uh anti-glare as I call it. Perfect in today’s sunshine. Profile of both the hybrid and the fairway wood is really nice. Sit behind the ball really well. And I love this sort of very visible uh white lines within the face, which again for me certainly when I’m looking at loft on the hybrids and fairways that we’re going to talk about, then I can see that loft. I can see visibly on that face what it’s presenting me and it gives me a bit of confidence. So they look really good. So I’m buying in on that respect. But then what about the build quality? Well, first of all, we’ve got premium shafts in each of these. And as you can see from the way that it’s been put together, there are no compromises. This is a really solid piece of kit. So, we ain’t losing out in build quality. We’ve got a really good looking product and we’re saving a huge amount of money. So, what about the performance? Oh, that is so good. The speed off the face as well, but what a ball flight that is. What a ball flight. It feels good. And when I talk about feel, I mean it sounds really good as well. And uh like I said, it shot off the club face with a fairly effortless swing. And that’s what’s really interesting for me is we’ll talk about performance. I had these indoor on Trackman. They performed incredibly well in terms of all attributes. Ball speed relative to club head speed being the main one. These all launch very well. And there’s a reason for that as well, which we’re going to talk about and the most important part of the video for me. So another tick in a box, performance. But there’s one other element that I want to discuss that if you are considering the 725 lineup to me, you should pay huge attention to go. Oh, just a tad short. And look at that kick away and off. That’s why I love Hol. I just wanted to mention that I hit two balls. The first one being this yellow one here, but I forgot to press record on the camera. The reason I’m telling you that is because it was great to see two balls land in such close proximity and that consistency off the club face. Just a pity me wedge game wasn’t uh well it was only a yard out to be fair. What’s super impressive and like I said I doubt we’ll pick it up is the ball flight is ridiculous. So, the clubs you see me hit in today’s video are a five hybrid, a three fairwaywood, and a five fairwaywood. But the thing we need to pay attention to is the loft of each of them. 25° on a five hybrid. Super versatile club. I’m a real champion of hybrids with loft. This thing does it incredibly well. And if you want to try a step a foot into this kind of lofted hybrid marketplace, then at this price point with that kind of performance, it’s an obvious way to go. The second thing is the fairway woods. They’re three-wood, or the model I’ve got at least anyway, is a HL version and it’s 16 1/2° of loft. That’s a T-shot I just hit. Ball flight is insane. Very easy to pick up and all of a sudden becomes a 3-wood that can people golfers can actually make use of. And then there’s that fivewood at 18 degrees, which to be honest with you, not too dissimilar performance-wise from that of that 3HL. But these products are much more versatile and much more user friendly because of that loft that they provide. And each of these three could find their way into any of your bags and go up against any of the clubs that you have currently bought and purchased at probably a much higher price. It’s right that right down the throat of it. My bag fell over and uh clearly that is my favorite club within this lineup. But then it is my favorite club within a lot of lineups. That is the five hybrid. Super versatile, super easy to play. Please don’t continue to ignore these things for long iron alternatives. Probably also worth noting that that swing and that strike was absolutely dreadful and the thing still performed and got to the green. That for me is realworld forgiveness. That’s what it looks like. Forget Trackman data. You hit a pretty crap shot and uh you get away with it. Kind of forgiveness I like. We even made it to the back tier. Unfortunately, I don’t have me putter with me. Decent pace, wasn’t it? I think that’s time to call it a day. We’ll leave it there. And uh like I said at the beginning of this video, there are products out there that can save you a huge amount of money with no compromises to be made if you actually want them. My question is, do golfers really want them or is it just uh yeah, I don’t know. I’m not sure they do. But anyway, that’s the Tour Edge. You try them. Uh have a good look. There’s a C model and an E model. The difference between the two predominantly is about adjustability. Uh, the C model is probably aimed at the better player and intended to be a little bit lower spinning, but I’m not going to go into too much detail. The fact is, go and give them a uh, try for yourself and as ever, come back, let me know what you think, and uh, I’d be happy to get some feedback from any golfers that have got the Torres lineup in the bag. Thank you for watching and I will see you all

Tour edge is fantastic kit Andy a lot of golfers should look
Never bothered about the makes of clubs, I still play with my Powerbilt irons from 25 years ago, and they still work for me. The main problem with this game is that there are a vast number of "EGO" players, and sadly, a lot of snobbery.
Just get out there and enjoy the game, and leave these idiots to themselves.
So yes, these clubs interest me 🤣
I think there are a lot of brands that you never see Sub 70 comes to mind along with New Level and there are many more
I got a Wilson Dynapower 3 wood and 4 hybrid back in February and they are as good or better then anything I tried or have had in the past.
Fittings are over rated, never been because I got a decent swing and hit the ball well if I swing well.
And buy clubs that are usually two or more years after they came out.
I got my eye on the Tour Edge E725 or C driver and will buy one maybe next year or after.
More beer money for me.
Are Tour Edge in Europe?
Cool video andy
Tour edge good clubs
But where can you buy them
Am i right in saying american golf !!
Then would you get clubs fitted from them
Dont think so !!!
I watch for your personal demeanor and wit. I am for anything to help me. I even look at maltby golf. So I like all options
Really thought-provoking video Andy, thank you. I think a lot of golfers are caught by the major brands' marketing strategies, and seem happy to play huge sums for this year's new model driver. Tour Edge simply make great clubs at excellent prices. I play a Tour Edge 722 3 wood and 5 wood – couldn't be happier with the clubs. I'm now waiting to demo the E725 driver once my local AG branch can get hold of one. That's really the only problem with Tour Edge. Only American Golf seem to carry Tour Edge products, so it is almost impossible to get hands on trial clubs in the UK. However, it is worth persevering – the quality of the clubs and shafts is right up there with the best in the market, and if I remember correctly the clubs come with a lifetime guarantee. Tour Edge customer service is top class too. What's not to like? The lower price has nothing to do with lower quality. Tour Edge just don't spend millions on marketing or getting touring pros to play their clubs (apart from the Senior Tour, where Tour Edge clubs are played by Bernard Langer, Alex Cjeka etc). I wish more golfers would try Tour Edge – I've not seen any other members at my club in Scotland carry Tour Edge clubs.
Just bought 2 of the last generation tour edge hybrids from American golf, £69.00 each, and they really perform
Golf players are rich, but incredibly, lazy, stupid and easy to manipulate. They really are owned by trends, commercials and brand names..😂😂😂 and really are so stupid that think golf equipment will make them better and rather buy a new club than practice more. Never meet so much bs talk about equipment in any sport.
What you don't mention is that when you apply import duties and tax they become significantly more expensive. I can't find anywhere in the UK where they are sold
they are just so hard to get i have tried several times at american golf to look at them but they rarely have them in stock perhaps its because they make more money selling the bigger brands products i am like so many golfers out there try to buy a good round spending silly money on products that get great reviews so many youtubers out htere saying this is the best club you can buy and like an idiot i fool for the speel just wish someone would just tell the truth saying that most clubs are exactly the same
Your edge has definitely been on my radar – irons sets have a good two – can you test the irons?
I have a bag dominated by Tour Edge products. Got Hybrids from Tour Edge to replace all of the irons and wedges, which I am very pleased with and I love to hit them. Just recently added an E522 "Fairway Finder" Driver with a 44 inches long shaft that is very very light in weight. It was a steal of a price too. The rest of the bag is a mix of Ping # 4 Fairway woods [ both right and left hand ] and random # 7 and # 9 woods that are beloved friends of the golf game. All of the clubs are fun to hit and easy to launch. I have learned during the COVID period of golf that truly clubbing up and swinging easy is the simplest way to dial in your game on any given day. More fun ! Less stress ! And better results !!! Very Affordable too. —- Enjoy. Thank you, Andy for your wise words and good advice. PS – 20 percent of my bag are left hand clubs for easy solutions to quirky ball locations.
I’ll give the 5 hybrid a try,
Yes! I have an older Tour Edge driver and 4 wood. I do want to test some new clubs, Ping especially.
Thanks for the great review of Tour Edge! I have played golf for 50+ years and have 1 hole in one. a 185 yard ace with a TourEdge 5 hybrid. They are terrific clubs as you say.
I do like to hit or see in person what I play but I have bought some equipment DTC but not much. BUT… I do watch your reviews and several others that I’ve come to trust and I use this information when it comes to making my purchasing decisions. I like a good deal and I don’t feel any need to follow the herd, so yes, I would purchase these or other lesser known brands without hesitation.
Fitting is important- get the shaft, flex lie etc wrong and golf is harder…I just fitted into PXG's and Mizuno 230 ST Max Driver and 3 wood! Driver was 270 and 3 Wood 170!!.Superb both of them!!
They look really interesting, but where can you buy them ? Their UK website is only the old models and they're all out of stock anyway. If you go to their US website the shipping (£79) plus Duties (£14) plus Tax (£50) makes that £157 hybrid end up costing £300. American Golf seem the only retailer and their selection is tiny. Are they planning to grow their distribution in the UK ?
But they aren't cheaper because you can't get them in the uk
Tour Edge are hard to find in UK
I admit I’m not attracted to the Tour Edge irons. They’re too “busy” looking. The woods: yes. Very good looking clubs.
If Honda raised the cost of an Accord to $70k, is $50k for a Hyundai Sonata suddenly a good deal?
$399 for one club isn't a good deal just because others want $599 and up.
95% of golfers can't swing the $399 or $599 club any better than a 3yo $150 club from eBay.
I appreciate your points Andy. Many YouTubers make the same point about Tour Edge. But here are two points to consider: (1) I walked up to the Tour Edge tent at the Canadian Golf show, no one was there … … no one. Yet the guy was still a rude, large, mean jerk to me (I’m trying to be nice). 🤷♂️🤷♂️ (2) AND THEY DO NOT MAKE LEFT HANDED CLUBS. WHAT YEAR IS THIS … 1825?? 😮💨😮💨😮💨
I had a Benross driver years ago and it was amazing performance versus the bigger more expensive brands. These days in the woods I like ex demo as you get a good price it doesn’t bother me using an older iteration.
I would happily try a tour edge club at a fitting, I don’t think I’d buy without trying it as the second hand value is poor if you didn’t get on with it.
I'd use/play whatever club perform. The problem Tour Edge and other marginal brands have, is getting them into the hands of people to try/fit for.
I've never been into a golf shop that sells them. So you'd have to take a punt on one, which is not ideal for something costing 100's of £££
Nothing wrong with using alternative brands but fitting can be an issue, the big brands have good fitting options. Personally i try to save on the irons, I set my max irons price around £500 & shop a few years older but new, I know what shaft I want and swap them out then sell the shafts that came with the new set and heads, If I need driver/putter will then go for a fitting and buy whatever is the best for me. Current set: Black Ops Tour Driver, Brnr Mini, Stealth 5w, Callaway TCB irons, Sub 70 wedges, PXG Allan Putter, managed to do the whole bag for £1500 , got driver when it launched, irons in winter they should do 3 seasons, wedges 2 years old now probably need replacing. Trading your old stuff and Heroes makes a big difference as well so my real cost spend is about £600 for the current set up. Bought the irons in Jan for £450, sold my old heads for £290 and the shafts out the new ones for £150 so no cost bar postage out.
Do a head to heads and don't tell us what the clubs are until you discuss the results.
Tour Edge has always produced a great line of metal woods and irons. Problem is it's always been perceived as an older golfers brand and has struggled to get the proper recognition it deserves from the younger set. I don't see that changing anytime soon. They're target audience is the 60 and up golfer – many who are on fixed budgets and no longer have the $$$ to spend on the more expensive brands who's equipment performs no better than Tour Edge. I've been gaming a Tour Edge Exotic rescue 5-wood the past three years and absolutely love the club. Everything else in my bag, save my driving iron and putter is Mizuno.
Can you get your hands on the new Cleveland HiBore XL driver? I'd like to see you do a review on it (I'm about the same size, age, and swing speed as you). Young, flexible 120 mph guys swinging clubs don't do me much good.
BTW, Tour Edge Exotics are premium clubs at premium prices.
Are these clubs fixed or adjustable? Good video
The price to play golf and the price for new equipment is getting ridiculous.
I had KZGs about 15 years ago, they were fab. Only drawback was their 2 year old resale price which was very low. Overall ownership cost probably close, big brand v little known….
Yes keep up the good info
Why no chapter list? Thumbs down.
I have a 2023 set of P790s custom fit and a custom fit TSI driver. Total cost about £1600. I also have Benn Ross #3, #5, #7 and Hybrid. All bought from Ebay for a total of £190! And I cream it with all 4 clubs.
I would love to go and get fitted for the new Tour Edge, but where from?! If you go online, the Tour Edge site is only for USA, and other people listed are just places to get fitted, but necessarily Tour Edge!
I live in North London, no problem in travelling, but where! HELP!!!!
The title is Exposed with a sub title of ‘golfers are getting ripped off’ but the video is a review of Tour Edge equipment. I remember you once complained about other u-tubers using click bait but you seem to be guilty here. The bigger brands charge more mostly due to marketing and player endorsement costs…..mystery solved !!
Absolutely love these video's i now am playing Eleven hybrids at £90 a club due to this sort of content, enjoying my cheaper golf, keep it up Andy.
Historically I’ve gone with previous years models that are typically 15-20% less than latest greatest. Still needs to play well for me, but having newest isn’t the point for me, it’s having a club that fits my needs. Nice video.
As long as us golfers keep buying the highly over priced products from the main brands the longer they will continue to charge those prices. We are essentially our own worst enemies ☺
Great video …Andy I would use a full bag of shovels if it helped improve my game. It’s essential that the lesser known brands keep getting reviewed by trustworthy people like you. New golf club prices are fast becoming a bad joke and good quality more affordable smaller brands need exposure .
I have an E223driver . 100 $ new
Anyone who turns off because its not one of the top 5 golf companies is a golf snob. They can't be interested in buying the best equipment for them. As a golfer I would buy any club that will improve my enjoyment and possibly my handicap regardless of the brand. I would only know that by watching a review by someone who is an average golfer.
The game can be played to most budgets – choices, choices, choices
Money and cost does not make a club any golfer better. It is about a golfer feel and vision. I played Titlest 962 irons a drivers for years and the clubs I play today at 55 years of age. I hit them the same at half the cost. Love your channel!!!
Why not Tour Edge? E. g. Bernhard Langer plays (and wins!) with Tour Edge clubs! But they do much less advertising in comparison to the big brands…
Andy I never tune out of your videos early. Reviews seem to touch a nerve with some people who always claim you are shilling product for someone. I like hearing about the new gear and seeing it being used especially brands like this who I don't see much in my area. Keep it up sir!
I had an old set of Ping Eye 2's that sat in the basement for 25+ years unused. I decided to take golf more seriously about 4 months ago and realized my Pings were no longer up to "par". 3 weeks ago I purchased the Tour Edge TE-400 complete set and couldn't be happier.
