Amateur Golfer vs. The Ryder Cup: Break 90 Bethpage
All right, guys. I can’t even tell you how excited I am. We’re at Beth Page Black. This is basically the last day that the course is open before the RDER Cup shows up. The course is in extraordinarily difficult condition. Right now, we’re playing at 7,500 yd. I have played this course about 10 times. I don’t think I’ve ever broken 90. And today the video is break 90 from the tips at Beth Page Black. I might shoot 100. So we’ll see where that goes. Yeah, I think we do have a chance. All right, boys. Got some work to do. Can we get into the 80s where the best players in the world play golf? Maybe Guys, I love New York. Have a great weekend. Were you out here during the PGA? I was. I had a bag in the PGA. What? I came in 14th from the PGA in 19. Who were you catting for? This kid from Thailand, Jazz Gen. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He fired his Caddy the week before. He just wanted a house caddy. I was in the right spot. I said, “Listen, we got to make the cut cuz I’m supposed to drive the picker on on the weekend at the range.” And he did. He did good. Uh, Sunday we were in the second to last group right in front of right in front of Kepka. No way. Yeah, it was pretty cool. My hometown. I had everybody screaming at me. It was fun. Had my 15 minutes. Not a bad lie. The rough isn’t too long today. Not a bad lie at all. I mean, maybe we try to break 80. Yeah, I’ll say it. Does this ball bounce off of the uh aprons or are they kind of soft? Really? Everything’s pretty soft. Yeah. So, we got 143. I I like the number. We got no wind to talk about just yet. Yeah. You don’t think it’s going to kick forward out of the rough? It might, but I don’t think it’s going back up that hill. Okay. I’ll tell you what I’ll do is I’ll hit I’ll hit just the smoothest nine possible. Yeah. Short’s better than long anyway. Yeah. I uh changed my swing. I’m just swinging the easiest possible golf swing ever. I mean, this thing is sitting up right there. There you go. We got to look. Yeah, it’s a good shot. This is a good shot. I mean, I’m I’m going to not hit this hard, though. Yeah, it’s slightly down. It didn’t move at all. Yeah, I put a little outside the hole actually. Just just that much. See what I mean though? Look at where it ended up though. Behind the hole. It did end up behind the hole. That’s where it lost it with speed. Yeah. All right. So, because it’s so late in the season before the RDER Cup, they’re only allowing people to play from the white TE’s, but we’re going to the back tea box. This is the blue TE’s. So, at that last tree, fairway runs out of 280. Get out. Huh? I caught a little low. We usually add a club for the hill. I got uh 47. So 57 55 shot. Yeah. Yeah. No. Carried but a little chip. I knew from my experience that I do not want to miss left on this hole. Right. It falls off hard. And we got like a little downhill chip right now. Lot of room. Did it carry the trap? Yeah, I think I can putt that. It’s got to go. Doesn’t feel like much. No. What do I feel? Just on the outside. Yep. Fall out. Yes, sir. I don’t want to hurt that cup. Made you nervous there. Wow. All right. So, here’s a new here’s a new one. How many pars can I make in this video, Jack? Pars are better. How many can I make? So, there’s 18 holes. 18 holes. We got two down. We already got two in, so I’m not going to say three. Um, I’m going to go nine. Nine pars are better. But all right. So, obviously we’re shooting a break 90, but I feel like I am playing pretty good right now. 73 pin. So, let’s play uh 70. Okay. Yeah, we want to stay under this pin. I think that’s a seven iron. Okay, sounds right. Sure as hell hope it is. How many hole ones you seen out here, Jack? Uh, two. Both on number eight. And, uh, the second one was two weeks ago. It’s ace season. Yeah. How many holding ones do you have, Jack? None. That’s not fair. Four. Four on the bag, two here, and two in my place in Florida. Okay. All right. 170. There she is. 170. Right at it. That’s what they say. Everything’s right out in front of you. That’s terrible. as we talk about all the pars I’m going to make. Just short of that tree. Honestly, that’s not bad. Yeah, we can make three there. Sat have to earn this one. We are going to have to earn this one. You can hear the water in there. Whereas here, yeah, I mean, soaking wet. Got to be bold to make this, man. I’m going to struggle with the speed here today. I I I put it outside the hole on the right actually, Jack. But but we missed it. Yeah, it’s okay. Better with the pace double. You know, it’s a it’s karma, right, for coming up here on the box and thinking that I got everything figured out. But I wouldn’t mind another five right here. This is one of the best par fives in all of golf. The corner is uh 257. It’s really interesting cuz you see how Beth Paige is a driver’s golf course. Oh, absolutely. It’s almost driver every hole besides the threes. Yeah. You know, number six sometimes a little different, but yeah, you and you got to get off the tea. You got to get off the tea big. Yeah. You know, otherwise you ride behind the eightball coming out of the gate. That’s why, you know, the course record belongs to Bruce Kepka. You know, he bombs. You got to bomb it. Yeah. Rder Cup team be set up with all bombers. Yeah. Real quick, before Eric gets here, do you think he has a chance? Chance to break 90. Yeah, I do. Yeah, I do. I would have definitely said yes before that double, but uh yeah, I think we do have a chance. I’m always on the side of the player. We can do it. He has a good swing. I feel good about this. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Actually, we got a decent lie here. I think eight iron would be like absolute maximum that can come out of this is like 65. That’s fine. It’s cool. Right at the pin. Right at the pin. Right at the pin. Yes. Oh man. I I tell I have loved the fourth hole. It’s been one of my favorite holes for almost all my life. I remember the first time I saw it, I was like, “This looks like multiple golf holes tied into one.” You know, in car racing they say if you miss a turn, the next three turns are affected. That’s kind of true here. We definitely can’t go for the green. There you go. Yep. I mean, literally a a stick, right? Where are we at? Now, we just drop a wedgie on here. Basically, just want to cover this trap that green kind of runs away from you. It’s really no tricks. You know, everybody who comes here says it’s right out in front of you. You can see all the trouble, but I don’t know, maybe it’s the hills. I think what makes it the hardest is that it’s a combination of passwords that you need. You know, you need you need length with accuracy. You need distance control. You need to be able to control the ball out of the rough. And the greens are faster than any other public horse greens in a thousand miles. Yeah. And they can get them going real good at tournament. Yeah. So, we got 100 here. Okay. 100. 81 on the carry. I guess I was trying to get too cute with the number and I should have just hit 100 cuz that pin is basically short. It’s um it it might be middleish. Might be close to middle. It’s it’s 20 yards over the trap. Go squee like the traps. A lot of sand. Yeah, it’s nice actually. Yeah, all the way. Speed’s good. Thanks. Okay, thanks, boss. And now the fun starts. Easy to stretch. Four holes, three over. Now it gets hard. So the best shot you want to get on the right side. The dog legs left at the end of the hole. So you want to get on the right side, but the traps go, you know, they get longer. They get longer to where the best shot should be. That we’re going to see that a few times today. Yeah. So Jack and I were just talking about the two hardest holes on the course. Some people say five, the hole we’re on, is the hardest hole. Some people say 15 is the hardest hole. I would say 15 from a statistic standpoint. It played a one stroke over par in the PGA. It did. Typically, it’s into the wind. You got an uphill second shot club and a half with a two-tiered green. That is like even if you hit the green, you might still be looking at a five. I’ve made big numbers with the Ryder Cup. That’s going to be cool because that’s right where matches are going to be finishing. Yeah, totally. And I love that stretch of 15, 16, 17, 18. Like that’s where all the tents are. That’s where they expect all the action. Yeah. Might be able to get a fourwood to the green. We might be able to. We got a tree in the way. We got a hill. I feel like maybe hybrid gets there. What’s that say? 210. 208. 208. So, we got a 215. We can either go down the end of the fairway or we can go into that hill where we have an uphill lie with a wedge. I can get a hybrid and miss long. You want Okay. You want to do that? Miss long left of the left of your guy. Yeah. Yeah. Between my guy and the house. Okay. I I’ll take that. There you go. All right. And it’s right at the thing. No, you’re fine. It’s It’s short right in the middle. Okay, cool. Right between the traps. We’re good. That’s my favorite. You know, you know why they call it a rescue club, right? It’s cuz you need help when you pull that out of the bag. Folks, being out here is not just something I’m grateful for. It’s not just a privilege. It’s truly something I’m like indebted to a handful of people for at the PGA specifically. Kevin, you’re a G. Randy, you’re a G. You guys make so much happen for Random Golf Club and our channel and you know our mission really, which is to make golf a club for everyone. This is why Best Page has long been one of my favorite courses, right? Open to everybody. If you’re okay with sleeping in your car, Whoops. Not bad. Might have pushed that. Got to start hitting greens. Then I can two putt. Would it be easier if I go right to the front bunker with a with a 250 shot and let it fall down the hill? Right. Right of this bunker. Yeah. Between these two bunkers here. Yeah. Well, that’s hit the fairway. That’s fine. That’s fine. Does 250 go down the hill? No, it won’t go down the hill. It’s going to land soft. We’re into a little breeze here. What’s the remainder if you hit that one? Probably 150. 150 from the top of the fairway. I feel like we should do that. Yeah, let’s do that. You know, let’s just let’s just while we got a short hole, let’s try and dissect it and see if we can’t. And this might be the last one of them shortly. I think that’s the I think that’s another of those uh kind of why is Beth Page hard thing. It’s because you kind of have to pick the holes apart, you know? I mean, look around. This is such a cool spot. So, uh 6T box here. We’ve got five green, 6 T box, 12 fairway, 12T. You can see 11 and 10 in the distance. There’s like a little rain shelter over there, lightning shelter. I mean, this is the the urban center of Beth Page Black. It’s so cool to look back at five with that park bench. It’s just it just looks like it’s 1960. You know, if you’re here for the rider cap, you got to come out to the 60 box and uh you know, just just get amongst it, fellas. didn’t turn really. I mean, overall swing check in. Swing’s feeling pretty good. Tempo’s feeling good. Still haven’t isolated a shot shape that we can expect. 70 174 pin 162 carry the bunker. We got a little hurt. 62 to cover the bunker. Does play down a little bit here. 62 cover the bunker into the wind. 70. Yeah. Safer shot. 75. Yeah. Let it roll. Yep. 700. Hope we catch a little bit of a flyer here. Stay down on it. See how straight I can hit this ball. Ah, one foot. One foot. That was a little right. It would have been right in the chute. Hey, we got a bunker shot. We just missed that. But, you know, honestly, I feel like that was actually a pretty good shot out of the run like that. That had a number on it, you know. All right, I think I’m going to hit the 54 now to get it there. I’m going to try to hit a good sand shot. All right, shot. Thanks. This is the best sand I’ve played in in a very long time. This is like granular sand. Yeah. It’s not like It’s not like some beach sand powder where it fluffs up. It’s deep. You can tell this is made for pro golfers. This sand you you did you hear it? It was like From a maintenance standpoint, golf is an expensive game. But, you know, the real story of Beth Page Black and how it came to be goes back to like 90 years ago. You know, when New York was building city parks, they put together a plan. The city built this, the city ideated on it, and it was designed to be something for the people that lived here. And Beth Page has a unique advantage because there’s five golf courses, right? You can have different price points for different courses. But even the black for uh New York State residents, it was it $100 now? 75 weekday. 75 weekday and out of state it’s 150, right? 90 weekday. It’s pretty good, guys. Yep. Stay down. And you just like I feel like every putt I’m just I’m like they’re not moving even on the last hole, right? Because didn’t the last hole I miss on the high side? So this is a par five for about a couple thousand days and then once every seven years it becomes a par four and that’s when the big dogs come out to play. 230 carry. Got it. Push cover. Got over left at a tree. That’s going to be an interesting shot. But I will say, you know, that felt like a good drive. We just close that club face a little bit. Start getting a little right to left and all of a sudden the year of the cut, you know what? It becomes the year of the pull draw. Push draw. Push draw. Oh, cool. Not bad. Almost the fairway again. I am fairway adjacent, guys. Good lie. Yeah, I see a window, my guy. Okay, so if we go down your window, we got to carry it to the fairway. Otherwise, that rough just sucks it up. You know what I mean? But we we can do that and get it down there. This hump, if we come over here, that hump’s 170 from the middle. So, we can get home over here also. Yeah. I mean, I’m just thinking like a four iron at the left edge of that left bunker there. I I just scoot it down there and see if I can get it into a 100. I mean, I know that’s kind of greedy, maybe kind of needy. I would go for like a five or a six. You can come up a little because you got to carry that rough. A four iron might come out a little Right. That’s a good point. Oh, we got fairway. We got a little golf guard to watch here. Right into the tree. Made sure I got a left kick right in the fairway. We saved oursel 30 yards. It was a well struck pitch, but you know, we can get home. Well, you got a 180 shot. Uh 75. 75. Got a little help. I like 70. Okay, great. 70. Right at it. It’s It’s in between the traps. Just left of that middle trap. Another basically this is a show of uh can I get up and down for par? So far the answer is not yet. All right. I kind of didn’t feel like that was the right club for that lie. Downhill lie. These are soft greens. Very sore. All right. Big putt. Some confidence in that putt. I felt good. I felt good. All right, folks. As with all the Break990s, this is brought to you by Arcros. If you don’t know what Aroscos is, it is game tracking at its best. They’ve got an incredible app that pairs with sensors on your clubs. These are American sensors, folks. They also make European sensors to support your team. You can get them at arcosgolf.com, and you can use the code RGC, which gives you 15% off everything they have. My favorite part of the app is this incredible ability to see how far you need to hit the ball and how far you normally hit your club. So, it offers recommendations based on your experience and your ability so you can play your best. Aros is the way to do it, folks. I say it’s the easiest way to invest in your game, dude. That’s an interest. I think it’s actually okay. Yeah. Usually don’t run out much coming off this hill. All right. Got a good bounce. All right. It’s a big putt here because it’s a par putt, ladies and gentlemen. Believe it or not, I’m putting for Come on. Big one. That felt good. Dying speed. That felt good. I mean, they added what? 300 yds to the course. They added 150 yards on this hole. Jeez. We can get just off the tree and go over like the left side of the trap cuz there’s there’s a bunch of uh short stuff right over the bunker. Yeah. Like it’s it’s too it’s too Exactly. Right off the tree. There’s room and that’s not that that’s short of carry. Big cut, but we played for it. Yeah, guys. Is a big moment here on the uh ninth hole. It’s our first fairway we’ve hit. That’s right. You’re just short on a couple of them just off the side. Yeah. One you’re just off. When you’re in it, it’s really dramatic. You don’t You We’re not going to see these slopes on television. I don’t even know if you seen here, but like the left side of the fairway here is about 20 ft below the right side of the fairway. Everything’s kicking you this way. It’s just a super interesting golf course and it’s just golf in the woods. Golf State Park. Golf in the state park. There you go. 185 163 on the trap. Okay. 85 pin. All right. Let’s do a sixiron. That’s got to be right at the back of the green. Yeah, it’s back left, I think. Okay. going to get from cutting it. Bunker trap. Well, I’ve been there before. I’m happy with that. Gave it a chance. Had a look. Oh, it’s snappy at the hole. That was great pace. Thanks, man. Oh, I wanted that one so bad. All right, less than the fairway at the gazebo. Let’s see what we do. First hole of the back nine. Should be fine. Yeah, it’s sore, right? Fairway hit. Fairway two. Two in a row. Two in a row. Going to have 230 yards in. Maybe more. We won’t 502 yard par4. If I hit that 270, we will have a hybrid in 223 front. Wow. I have just about that number. We got real help. Okay, we’ll do hybrid cuz I think what you’re getting pin is 245. Yeah. Sit down. Sit down. I stayed just short of that trap. I can’t see over that hill there. Might be just short. Fortune favors the bold. Right there. Right there. Good shot. All right. I mean, I think we can call this a part, Jack. I I agree. Come on. Yes. Yeah, that that felt so good. That’s a long four. It’s basically a birdie. That’s a big four. It’s a big four. We got a couple more of these. Maybe you’re good at these long ones. Maybe I like the challenge. Yeah, this is uh right up your alley. Maybe I wasn’t meant to live a normal life, Jack. I know. I wasn’t. So, the right side of the green is our line here. There’s two traps out there, but the right side of the green puts us right between them. Okay. Right side. That’s where you want to finish. I’m not teing off until you give me a hot take. So, uh All right. I’ll go with people that bring bags that think they’re going camping. You know, the bag is filled with all kinds of stuff. And then when you’re done with the round, none none of this stuff came out was in play, you know. None of it all stayed in there. Whether it’s extra clothes or umbrellas, you know, cigar cases are in there. They’re like huge. I mean, what’s two cigars in a plastic bag should be it? Yeah. You know, um shoes. Yeah. I swung about 70% on that one. You ever hit a straight ball? I have by accident, but I have What’s the highest amateur score you’ve seen out here? Uh, probably 160, something like that. Some people just And you let them do that. You Well, you know what I tell them? I tell them, as long as we keep pace with the group in front of us, that what doesn’t really matter. Yeah. You know, knock yourself out. Yeah. Do whatever you want. But if you’re doing it and they’re holding up with three holes down, then it’s an issue. Yeah. I have friends of mine go, “Oh, I love golf. I I’d love to play the black horse. It’s over my head.” I go, “You just got to keep pace with the people.” Yeah. The only time you’re going to be nervous is going off one. Yeah. Once you’re out here, you’re with your buddies. Yeah. Exactly. 190. Yeah. I don’t want to just rinse going over this green instead. Going then you ch You got 182 pin. See? 182 pin. Yes. And you’re thinking 190. 190 right between the traps. Right. A little right at the pin. So, you think, you know, we hit six iron on nine? Five is pushing it to the pin. You think it’s five iron? I do. Okay. Yeah. We’ll just cut a little five iron in there. I’m going to start it right on that left bunker and let it fall in. Love it. Come on. It bounced above the trap. Did it get over the second one? Yeah. I thought it was going to come down on the green. It it might be on the green right over that then. Yeah, I’m seeing it right about there. Land it there and let it roll out. Yeah, it’s a slightly awkward lie. Well, I just caught it off the toe. I just got scared. I mean, over the ball, I was like, I’m underreading this, you know, playing 270 to cover at the middle of the bunker. Yeah. The one thought is, I mean, I can try to swing hard with the driver, right? And worst case scenario, it’s going to go right. Maybe even just back into the fairway on the right side because it’s a big cut when I miss with the driver. So, part of me thinks I’ll just give it all I got right at the middle of the bunker. Yeah, that’s what I was worried about. Sit down. Yep. H ended up in the fairway anyway. That’s where Jazz fighting. Yeah. So, maybe that’ll be That’s going to be about 250. 250. Yeah. Fivewood, fourwood, 250 front. 250 front on out of par4. All right, boys. Got some work to do. Oh, right behind it. Down. Down. All right, it’s safe there. We got to swing. Okay. Right behind it. That’s a tough shot. Thank you. So, of course, I’m going to come out here and hit a terrible shot every once in a while. It’s going to happen. Let’s get it out of the way, guys. Right. It’s going to happen. Just Just, you know, take the medicine, move on. In this case, it doesn’t feel like medicine. It feels more like poison ivy. But, you know, don’t itch it. Oh, it’s the transition. That’s what I’ve beening up. It’s the transition. go. That thing rolled up the club face. I hit that like That’s weird cuz I hit that so perfectly. Maybe it was a little heavy actually. Hey Jack. So in the golf swing, right? You got the setup, you got the takeaway, you got the top and the transition, you got the down swing, impact, and then follow through. What What would you say is the most important part of the golf swing of of those? Probably the takeaway. The takeaway. Yeah. Because if it’s not on if it’s not in the right spot, then then you’re out of whack the rest of the swing, you know, then then you’re trying to catch up to it. Okay. I like that. I was starting to think a problem of mine that I’m having today might be the transition. Like you’re talking transition. ing it up. You know, I guess at some point you need all of them to synchronize together, right? That that’s that’s the right thing. We’re missing a good spot. Start with takeaway. Yeah. All right. So, six holes left. We need to par five of the next six holes. So, let’s start with the par five here. Three shot hole. Pars are hard to come by here. I’m not I’m not I’m not going to state it lightly. I’m not going to beat around the bush. No, this is a 605 yard. 608 backp. It’s grown. And this is where uh Luke told me Rory’s going to go driver 7. That’s insane. See that? Let’s see how that works. That’s insane. That’s why I’m coming to ride a cup. That’s what I’m coming to see. That’s all you want to see. That’s all I want to see. Driver 7 and the Americans win. Yeah, of course. I think I might hit driver 7 iron, but I’ll just put a fourwood in the middle. What a beautiful tea box. Yeah, doesn’t get used too much. Last par five of the day here. Not off to the best start on it, but let’s see. We have uh 420 to go. This is tough. Pickle ball, no thanks. Checkers, not for me. I like to do things that are really hard and frustrating that you can never figure out. I feel like I’m getting worse. Well, it beats you up this course. Yeah. You know, wears you down. No, but I mean even even since I started playing golf, I feel like I was better when I started. Yeah, you go through stages. Yeah. Yeah. This is a big stage. Ups and downs. Game’s got a ton of it. You all right with the lie with five iron? Yeah. It’s kind of It’s kind of light behind it. All right. Yeah. All right. This is going to cut. Come on. Let’s see the result of this shot. I cannot wait. spot right here. A baby it. Nice six. So, even though I’m not like, you can tell I’m a little bit like ah, I wish I was sitting here, I wish I was in it there. But like the whole goal is like under these conditions, can we get into the 80s where the best players in the world play golf? Coming back. What if? What if? Excellent. What if? Yeah. I mean, that’s a good shot. Wow. It wasn’t going to come back all the way cuz we still have about 8 ft for birdie. God. I hit too hard. Didn’t move at all. Kind of moved towards the end. All that. This is a village here. 15 16 17 18. What a good set of holes. All right, we need four pars. There’s a fair way there. Yeah. Fairway. Fairway. Locked. That felt good. That was That was more of a fade. 278 from the T. Uh this cool thing about Arcros here is it shows you kind of key points from where you are. And then if you look at the numbers, it gives you the relative, you know, 185 center kind of playing long, playing 191. And it even has atmospheric conditions as well. Five should cover that. A little help. Yeah. And a little help. Five. Yeah. Five also gets a little higher. Yeah. Leaning over. Yeah. I’m going to look at the um the left set of stairs. I love that. Fly right side. Go. Crap. Yeah. Jack, you were here in uh 2002. I was Did you get any Tiger stories from that week? Um well when Tiger won after the after it was over they used to put out flags American flags on a pinstick wherever he hit his drives that last round on that Sunday and and they didn’t advertise it. So the all of a sudden I’m playing they used to put them out on the weekends and I’m like why are these flag it they all look like you know some places put a stick out there where you should hit your drive. Correct. That’s what they looked like for most of them. But when you got to 11, it was 40 yards in the rough. So that I didn’t know what they were until, you know, as we went on. That’s where Tiger hit his T-shots. Ah. Hey, you’re out. I didn’t want to fall by this. Christ, dude. Good line. Good. Yep. Yeah. Good. Good. All right. So that was a 1, two, three, four, five, six. Another double. But I will say kind of kept it to a double. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So we can’t make nine pars that is behind us. We can make eight pars. Okay, this is not going to go very far, my guy. Pin’s relevant. Want to chop something out at that left trap and let it run up as far as we can. Yeah, that’s it. Good angle in on the left. 126 103 front 36 is a club. Yeah, I like I like that still. It was feeling hard when we were coming up, but it’s up. I like the one club. Not bad. Little across it. I still think you can make two cars. I believe I can. This is the chance to do it. All right. It’s four iron. All right. I got left to right wind. I got a left to right shape. It’s four iron. I’m just going to do it. Got to miss here. It’s over. Yeah. Okay. That wall of rough. This thing’s going to move. Good line. Carry. Go. Yes. All right. Great shot. That’s a shot right there. What a walk. Right. Just carried it. I love you. DS72. I don’t know why you got that name, but I’ll take it. All right, we got one. No chance there. We’re do. Yeah. I can’t put it outside the hall. No, I don’t think so. I don’t think it is. Come on. Sending people home with the birdies. Come on. Let’s go. Let’s get another one. I don’t know your opinion on this. My My take is 10 times out of 10 I’d rather birdie 18 than one. And so 17 there’s only one hole better to birdie than 18. But we haven’t played 18 yet. So, there’s still a chance, ladies and gentlemen. And that was a good putt, too. You know what I mean? Good speed. It was going a foot by right in the middle of the cup. Jack, what are we at here? You got a scorecard? I’m going to shoot low 80s. See, I felt like I had a break 80 in me. Break 80. That’s all Eric wants to get to, guys. We’re playing some Oh, you want the big dog? Big dog. Right down the middle. Okay. You good with it? We’re into wind. P’s a little longer back here. I mean, I’m going to cut it off the bunkers on the left. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. I’m sorry if I had made this less entertaining than it could have been, but the truth is, you know what the next video is going to be called? Break 80. And that’s where I’m at. Because when we make that video, I will be the ripe young age of 45. Hopefully, I won’t have had a hemorrhoid for 6 months. So, it’s going to be 6 months from now. And um you know, break 80. Bring it on. This is the last hole of break 90 of the year. We’ve done Sawrass, we’ve done Waste Management Phoenix Open, we’ve done Oakmont, we’ve done Port Rush, and now we’re doing Beth Page ahead of the RDER Cup. What a great year for golf. I can’t wait to see what next year brings when we come back with the Break 80 series. It has a nice ring to it, Rick. All right, let’s see if we can hit one fairway. The final fairway right there. Yeah, short stop. First cut. Perfect. First cut for me. Thanks, Jeff. Yeah, that is good. One final iron shot for the year. Thanks for tuning in. Thanks for being a part of Random Golf Club. And please come out to our events. Like, we love having them. I just got back from Posito, Chambers Bay, and Northwood. We had a mad scramble at Prescidio. You got to come out. If you haven’t come out yet, please be our guest. Look at this lie. 160. 60. Yeah. Yeah. 160. Yeah. So, I’m thinking seven iron at the two gentlemen. I I like at the two gentlemen. Yeah. It’ll catch a little fly 60. We should be playing 75. Yeah, that’s exactly what I got. Perfect. That was a good management right there. Yeah, because uh if if I tried to hit an eight iron there, I’d be in the bunker. It came off a little sideways. It did not hit the center of the club face. It was not trapped. Ultimately, celebrations are all relative. You know, people celebrate getting out of prison. No one celebrates getting into prison. You know, the final pitch mark of the 2025 break 90 season. You know what’s funny is all this uh construction stuff, it’s been like happening all day and I decided early on that uh you know, I’m just going to welcome it in. Just let it happen. You know, just just like let it wash over me. Pretend that it’s music. Pretend that I’m constructing something in my brain. You know, like a good round of golf. I’m seeing over that old cup. Little up. I don’t actually think it’s moving that much, though. I don’t think so. Even that just around the edge. Yeah. All right, let’s do the edge. Let’s get up there. Get it there. Yes. That was just right in the mouth. Well, what a fitting end. Hey, Jack. That was the best and most fun I’ve ever had at Best Beth Page Black, man. I got to thank you, dude. It’s thanks to your energy, dude. All your You guys are all great. All fun. Hell yeah. Thanks for coming, Bet Paige. Another quick nine. Wild spot on tanks.
In today’s video, EAL takes on one of the toughest challenges in professional golf: Bethpage Black, host of the 2025 Ryder Cup. The rough is rough and the pressure is high. Can he reach his ultimate goal of 89 or better?

Jack is the man! What a great film, RGC back to its best. Thanks Erik and crew, ready for the Ryder Cup now!
I can’t imagine walking 18 with hemorrhoids lol get well EAL
I would love to play there, but I'm not keen on NY gun laws. It's against my personal constitution to not carry a pistol.
U wanna start breaking 90 u need to work on them wedges…100 and in cuz u hit the ball good enough
Impact is the most important part of the golf swing. As long as the impact is correct the rest doesn't amount to a hill of beans.
Dammit Erik! If you don’t let me come to the next one I’m going to cry!
Jack is making bank. Been on a couple of the YouTube channels so far.
who walks up the face of a bunker like that? wow
@erik, when are we getting access to that hat???
4:53 I’m early calling a 79
had to take a second to comment when i head 7500yds the tips r crazy i will gladly play one up or even whites 😭
Course record with Brooks made him a good candidate even though he hasn’t been playing like Brooks lately. Reason 2, he’s a dog competitor, are all the rooks on the team dogs? It’s go time
🇺🇸
My guy! Game is looking good! Breaking 80 on the horizon! More time working on the sand game and wedge game and it’ll happen for sure! Your GHIN Should be around a 2-4 with your length and positive mindset. Half Set Full Support!
Great round with a gentleman at your bag… Thanks for sharing, Eric
good job EAL 🙂
GREAT caddy 👍
This is the golf content we want. Never change, EAL
Mega year👌
7500 yards? And at 65 years old I think 6300 is long.
Come on Erik!! Lets see an 89!!
Lots of love for the caddie today. I’d love to see RGC compile a video for some of the legends of the channel. Not sure what, but they’ve earned their flowers
I think your caddy also fixes vacuum cleaners. Breaking Bad, Breaking 90 😉
can we hire jack full time? lol
what a cool caddy, i feel like he would make me shoot better haa
$750 entry fee and $16 a beer….. yeah, the 'Peoples' Ryder Cup
the year?! there's like 3 months left damn
That shot on 17 was a beauty!
When is that hat dropping?
Did you change pants mid round? After the ad, you had shorts on. A bit strange my man. Love your content.
great vid!! Jack is the man! Just saw him with Paige in the last Ryder cup video.
A new video, a new hairstyle. Erik never disappoints….
35:45. all of that torture, for a bogey. that could've been so much worse.
No
Caddie a retired Fireman?
Theres no way he does it
Sound editing on #8 green was top notch. 😂 IYKYK.
The hat in the back of the pants is one of the wildest moves ive ever seen to be honest 😂 i cant get past it for some reason
Listening a man say, I had my 15 minutes and be so happy and proud! amazing life moment!
I wonder what it feels like to not have a group in front of you slow playing like a mf and the groups behind you not riding up your ass. 38:50
What’s the ping hat? Need that.
If he’ll caddy for me I’ll come up there and go driver 8iron
Yo what is that hat?!? I neeeed
Jack is a fucking legend
Shot an 89 in July there and it’s the best round of golf I’ve ever played. Lived in Old Bethpage almost my whole life and to break 90 there with all the stands up after driving past it almost every day for 15+ years was just such a special moment
Nice piece. Well played. Jack was awesome. I may have sat on that bench behind the 6th tee back in the 70's. However, it would have been surrounded by overgrown grass and the tee box would have been dirt or weeds. We still loved to play the course.
You were automatic inside 10 feet, great round!
Nice playing man, you stuck with it.👍
Well done Erik!
