Break 90 | A Round to REMEMBER at Glendower Golf Club

[Music] Yes. Come on. Yes. Oh, it’s going in the hall, please. Come on. [Music] Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to break 90. We are here at Glendawa Country Club. A very prestigious country club by the way. Very expensive, very nice to play at. We had here at hole number 10, stroke four or stroke two actually. It’s the second most difficult hole. Uh let’s see if we can break 90 today. My handicap here is 16, so it’s going to be a bit difficult, but let’s see what we can do. First shot. Let’s go. [Music] Pulled it to the left. I see it bouncing. Okay, it’s going to be a long hole for me. Let’s go. All right, I ended up here in the trees fairway. I mean, uh, the green is all the way there. I’m going to punch out just here with a pitching wedge. It should leave me a good enough distance. So, quick punch out and then let’s just take it from there. Back to the fairway. It needs to sit though. Sit. Sit. Okay, I missed the fairway, but I should be fine from where I am. Let’s go. Oh, it’s going left to the bunker there. There’s a bunker to the left. Okay, it cleared everything. Oh god, next shot. Let’s go. Third shot came all the way here. I cleared the water. That’s all I care about. Uh, I’ve got a bit of the green. I don’t know what they are doing. The greens. Don’t know how they run fast, slow, or what. But let’s just play a nice little shot here and get it there. Oh, it looks good. It needs to go and sit. Go. Sit. Sit. Sit. Oh, I’ll take that. Brilliant shot. That should be a bogey for me. So, let’s see. It looks straight as ever. So, let’s go for it. Hopefully, we get this bogey. First part of the day. Let’s go. Oh, no turn. Nothing. Okay. Double for me. Double bogey on the previous hole. 10th hole. Quite a difficult hole to be honest. It is a stroke two. Now we’ve got hole 11, which is a stroke 10. There two bunkers that I’m aiming for over there. It’s very clear on the right hand side. Water in front of us here. So you don’t want to go there either. So let’s see what we can do with this one. Fairway finder would be great. [Music] Oh, brilliant shot. That should be on the fairway. Money. Kick right for me. Oh, yes, please. Come on. All right. Um, first shot was amazing here in the middle of the fairway. I’ve got about 50 something to the front. Uh, I am playing with a friend of mine, Shadre. So, you’ll see his ball also on the fairway or on the green or in the hole, whichever one. Just know I’m playing with somebody. H I’m aiming for his ball right now. Um and I would love that 52 in hand. Let’s go. A bit low, but I like it. Go right. Ah, it was good distance, but a bit left. We’ll take it. Let’s go. Birdie putt. Very tricky one. Hard left to right. Like very hard left to right. So, I hope I’ve got the line right for birdie on hole number 11 here at Glendawa. Let’s see what this does. Got it right in the hole. Oh, so close. Just missed. Just Okay, let’s see if I can clean this up. Yes, please. Jeez, that’s a poshki right there. Let’s go. All right, hole number 12. Very tricky hole. Um, simply because there’s water in the front here. And I’m was deciding between a driver and a seven iron lay short, but I’m just going to go for it. Hole number 12 here at Glendawa. Break 90. Let’s go. [Music] Ah, it’s going to the right a little. Kick left hard. Ah, I should be fine. As long as I can see the green, I’m happy. 83. Okay. Right. Second shot is in the trees. Lucky me. I’ve got a gap here. The only thing is water left and there’s a bunker there also on the right hand side. So, what I’m going to do, and the pin is quite short, so I’m going to play short and yeah, I just leave it short. I’m not trying to go for it. Anything long and left is bad. So, aim for the bunker and just let it come back like a draw, a low draw something like that. But ah, not enough. Go, go, go, go. H, that should be fine. I’ll take that. Just in front of the green. Let’s go. This is Oh, yeah. For those who don’t know, uh, we’re doing lift, clean, and play. So, you will see me marking my ball if I’m on the fairway and on the green only. I’m going to putt this. It’s a huge lift. Um, I definitely want a here. Um, so this is me just being safe as much as I can to see what I can do with this. Distance control is everything. And I just didn’t hit it at all. Ah, barely on the green. Okay, on we go. A real tester here. So, a two putt here would be great. The one putt also great, but now we’re really lagging it to the hole for a bogey here. Turn, turn, turn. Oh, and it went. E. Oh my god. Okay. It’s far. Yeah, you would give this to me. My friend Shady Guys is behind the camera. Uh, thanks to him. Make sure you go subscribe to his channel, What a Shot on YouTube. He’s helping me film today and he’s giving me this. And it’s quite far. He I think he can’t see from there, but yeah, it’s far. Oh, he told me that’s true. I’ll take that. It is a It is a bogey. Yeah. Yeah, it’s a bogey. Onto the next hole. Let’s go. Hole number. Is this 13? Yeah, it’s 13 power five. Everything left is water that runs all the way along. You don’t want to be there. Uh there’s water right in front of us. So, you want to hit a nice shot. And then to the right, you’re much safer. So, I’m going to aim a little bit to the right and hope for the fairway there. Let’s go. Yeah, it went far right. I was so scared of the left. Okay, I see it dropping. It’s a par five. Bad shot. Let’s see what we can do next. Um, if I just punch it out there, I should be fine. Four iron in hand. I’m not going to take a full swing at it. Um, just a low shot. If you watch my Soto video, you will see there’s a low shot. I also played on the par five just like this. similar to this. Just like that. Perfect shot on the fairway. It’s running to the far left. Yeah, now it’s getable. Let’s go. Yes, I hit a decent shot. I think it’s off the fairway. Yeah, it’s off the fairway with the first cut. This green is notorious um because it doesn’t hold the ball. But I’ve got about 99 52 in hand and I’m going to need to hit this as hard as I can to get it over there. Back foot gangan and just play it as normal. Ah, it’s low and long. Sit. It’s gone. Definitely. There’s water behind there. It’s gone. Okay, we’ll see then. Drop. Boys and girls, we are safe. We are safe. I honestly thought that we went over the green as you can see the water there in front. There’s my boy Shady. Um, so yeah, look, the main thing is we are safe. That’s all that matters. Um, and if you look right behind me is where the slute is. So, there’s water that normally runs along here. I’ve been here before on my second shot. And so, yeah, happy to be here. Let’s go. All right. Like I said, we made it. We made it. We made it over. And we didn’t go in the water, which is dope. Now, I’ve got a tricky part. I mean, I should be taking this there cuz it’s going to go all the way down there. This is my bird patch, by the way. Um, so let’s see what we can do here. This is very tricky. I mean, I wish I could chip it, you know, but I’m not a pro like that. Oh, look at that thing go. Sit, sit, sit down. Woo! I couldn’t have played it any higher. Okay, it is what it is. It is what it is. We here for a PKI P. It is going to go left. Okay. Got my line. I’m sticking to my line and that’s all I can do. Hit my line. Yes, please. Come on. That’s a par. Yes. Come on. This is our first hole in one chance. And um what hole number is this again? This is hole number 14, I think. 146. Number 14. Hole 14. Um, par three, eight iron in hand. Hole in one chance. [Applause] Oh, get over the water now. Yo. Yo. Into the bunker. Okay, I didn’t hit that. So nice. Okay, we’re in the bunker, ladies and gentlemen. We made it. There’s water short and then we made it in the bunker, though. It shouldn’t be a difficult bunker shot. It should be an easy bunker shot, but we don’t want to say that. It should have been an easy par three shot, too. But we here. Go. Oh, not right. Woo. Okay. Thank you. We out. [Applause] Power part. I’m leaving the pin in. I’m trying I’m going for a make here. So this is important for me. Yes. Yes. Come on. Another poshki. Let’s go. Shady just hit a worldy of a shot here. I think he should be on camera, too. Uh what do you guys think? We should uh we should do a series of breaking 80. No, I think we’ll break 80. Yeah. So maybe break 75. I think we should do a 75 myself and Shady, but he’s right down the middle. I’m trying to copy exactly that water left. Everything right is safe. So you know exactly where I’m aiming. A bit more right. [Applause] Yeah, exactly where I was aiming. So I’ll take it. Kick left for me. kickler for me. Oh, it was it was stuck on that tree and it came down, but we safe. Let’s go. Well, it hit this tree here. Came all the way down. H down here. I’m okay. Shady is over there. He’s playing really well. Um, it is a par five. I just want to be in play more than anything. So, six iron in hand. Just get out the bunker and get a shot there. Yeah, I preferred it. Was a bit fat, but I’m out. Third shot. We are here. 220. Uh, we’ve got bunkers on the left and it’s all clear onto the right. Four iron in hand. We’re on a slope so it should draw. I’m going to aim right a little and then just let it feed back. Ah, I pulled it a little. It’s going to the bunker on the left hand side. Yeah, it’s in that bunker. We saw my bunker game, so we should be good. Let’s go. All right, we got my friend over there, Shedrag. Sitting so pretty. I’m also sitting pretty. I’m on a slope, so this is going to be super interesting. I said my bunker game was on point, but I didn’t want it to be tested like this. Um, and I will take anything on the green right now just cuz this is quite kind of difficult. Very difficult. Spin back. I’ll take that though. It’s on the green. It’s fine. It is fine. Let’s go. We out the bunker. And we’ve got ourselves a downhill part for par. I think I see it. I think I see it. There’s my line right there. Okay, let’s go. Let’s do this now. Turn left. Turn left. Oh, turn left at the end there. Okay. Hey, we’ve got a bogey. A tough one, but let’s go. All right, we’ve got a bogey putt here. Things are shil, guys. things I should be there. This is to be four over after like five holes. I think I’ve never seen a straighter part. I’ve never seen a straighter putt for a bogey. Yes, I’ll take a bogey. Onto the next hole, which is a par four straight up the hill. Let’s go. Next hole after that bogey save. This is a par four straight up the hill. Like I said, two bunk three bunkers uh or two bunkers on the fairway. Then it looks like three bunkers by the green. Driver in hand. Let’s go. [Music] Oh yes. Straight down the middle. Yes. Please kick left for me. Oh yes, it did kick left. Woo! That is a long bomb. Yes, please. Come on. Let’s go. Next hole. Let’s do it. Well, we hit a very nice drive. Quite far actually. Um, but now we got some trees here. We about 98 to the pin. I don’t know what I’m going to do here. I’m just going to aim for to clear the bunkers and the left of the green. This tree here is a bit of a problem. I don’t think I can get it over it. 52 in hand. Let’s clear the bunkers for me. Yeah. Should be on the green. Yes, please. Let’s go. Yes. We’ve got a very long birdie part. It looks straight. Shedrex one said it was straightish. So, I’m also going to go straight Gangan. Um, but I’m on a uphill, so let’s see how this one. Pace control is everything here for me. Oh, make it. Oh, we’ve got a power. It looks straight to me. Um, let’s hope that it is straight. Yes, that’s another par. On to the next hole. Par three. Yes, please. Glendawa is amazing. Look at that. How many PS is that in a row? Okay, not for me, but for Shedre it’s quite a lot. So, we’ll check the score. Let’s go. Wow. 203 to the back. Five iron in hand. It’s a bit downhill. Um, there’s a bunker there to the right, which is the big protection. Yo. Yo, it’s straight down, but man, and I think I know my problem is I’m trying to hit the ball too hard. Well, a chip and a putt. Let’s go. What’s happening here, sir? Um, I hit a chunky shot. I’ve got a 52 in hand, a chip, and a putt. Quite difficult green because it’s got a false front here. So, I need to land this on the green and um yeah, I need to land this on the green and put it right next to the hole. That’ll be so good. Check, check, check, check, check. Ah, back on the green. Okay, it’s part. It’s doable. Power part here. Right to left. A bit downhill. Let’s see what we can do. Go left hard. Do it. Do it. Close. Close. So, maybe we’ll get a bogey. Should be as straight as possible. So, let’s go for it. Woo! Boogie! All right. 18th. That’s the 17th, by the way, guys. I think I said seventh. So, for those judging me, it is the 17th. And we are now at the 18th. I am five over. Um, I would like this in in the middle of the fairway. It is an uphill all the way. Uh, the only thing guarding it is trees. And then you don’t want to go right. Right is completely OB. Oh, it’s got a bit of a U kick left. Yeah, it’s up there. I just hope I’m not behind a tree. But let’s go see what it looks like. Right. 157 to the middle. 157 m by the way. Um, this should be a seven iron, but I feel like it might be too much. I honestly do. Okay. I don’t know how much it is to clear the bunkers, but there are three bunkers over there. Kick left for me. Kick left for me. Kick left for me. How far is that? I flew the green. Is this thing 157 m? No ways. Oh, shady. What did you think it was? It said 157. So, I I I shot 157. Oh my gosh. Okay, I think it is alive there. So, let’s go see if we can find it. All right. I went into this bush here behind me. I’m going to take a drop. There you go. That’s quite sad cuz I didn’t think my seven iron could go that far. But we look forward now. We don’t look back. That was for par. Let’s go see if we can get a boogie. It’s been such a beautiful day here at Glendawa. Uh playing decent golf. Um but yeah, if you’re watching and you’ve made it to the 18th hole, give us a like, subscribe. It is what it is. Um we’ve got a bogey putt now here. Straight up the hill. It’s going to go right. Um by how much I actually don’t know. So, I’m going to play it out about a cup and then take it from there. Yeah, for bogey. Let’s go for it. Kind of pushed it. Oh well, if you don’t mind, I’m just going to finish it off with a double. All right, double on the 18th. That puts me at probably at seven over, but not too bad. Let’s go on to the next uh 10, next nine actually, and see what we can do there. But yeah, like I was saying, make sure you subscribe, show us love for lunch, we’re going to have some chips. Shady is going to have a prego. Chicken PGO. Chicken. Yeah, chicken PGO. So, the food is also amazing here. Come check it out. Really, really good. Halfway house. You order it before you start and then by the time you come and sit down, you’ve got your food. So definitely come to Glendawa, guys. It’s a dope course. [Music] Oh, look at his ball. Good shot. Kicked, bounced on that heel, went that way. [Music] Last time I came here, it was like it was misty and stuff. The last time, not the last time. The first time I think we came here, it was misty. It looks so cool. Hole number one. [Music] All right, hole number one. After that, beautiful chips. Halfway. Shedreg had a prego. Munched it. I had chips. Really nice chips. Thin fried chips. Now we’re at hole number one. It is stroke seven. All the way down. Let’s see what we can do here. Houses on the right. Everything left is perfect. Let’s go. I feel like this is my first swing. Oh my goodness. Feel like I’m a baby to this. I wanted to stay left of that tree, but kick left and give me give me room. Yeah, I’d kicked left, so hopefully it gave me room. Let’s see what it looks like. This is a difficult one. I can see the green, but I’ve got trees in front of me. I’m going to take a nine iron, play it on the back foot. Hopefully it gives me a little bit of a drawana and onto the green. Oh, just missed the tree. Oh, in the bunker. Up. Oh, it’s in the bunker. Jeez. Like All right, second shot. We landed in the bunker. Um, we’ve been experimenting with bunkers today, which is not cool for me. So, let’s just get this out and then we sorted. Oh, too high. Sit. Sit. Yeah, it’s set. Love that. Yes, please. We got a power here somehow. We are here in the house alive. Let’s go for it. 10 left. Oh, instead it went right. Okay. Boogie. All right. Let’s take it. Let’s go on to hole number two. All right. Hole number two. Power five. Stroke 13. After that bogey, I will be looking for a bird here. Very difficult to water all the way along us. Maybe for 100 m. I don’t know what happens on the right hand side. Uh so this requires a good T-shot. Just like that. Straight down the middle. Yes, please. Yes, please. Let’s go. Birdie chance. 180 to the front. has to be a six iron. No other way. Okay, we are placing like we said and shot number two here on this par five water left. So you know where I’m going. Uh right as possible. It’s about 192 the flag which it is the front flag. So yeah, let’s go for it. I’ve got five iron in hand. [Music] Just like that. Keep turning. Yes. Stop turning. It’s on the green, but it might go in the water. Oh, I think it’s at the back of the green. We then too, baby. All right, we made it to the back of the green. Um, at what cost? I don’t know. But guess what the good news is? We’ve got an eagle putt. Very long. Very, very long putt. Don’t know what it does. But I would love to see it in the hole. Let’s go for it. We’ve got an uphill, then it goes downhill quite a bit. It’s a tricky part. The downhill is just not doing it. Go. Oh, I thought it would go further than that, especially on the downhill. All right, that was quite short. Now we’ve got a birdie putt. The fact that we had an eagle putt is enormous. Oh, so close. Okay, pashki onto a par three. Beautiful hole, which is the third hole. Let’s go. That’s really soft. Oh, is it? Okay. From the hot swing. Such a good swing. All right, hole number three. Par three. We got 150 to the middle, 132 to the front. Eight iron in hand. Hole in one chance. Hole in eight. Eight iron in hand. Hole in one chance. Yo, I’m so glad I hit that right. Kick left for me. Oh, straight in the bunker. I’m just glad it’s safe. Yo, I haven’t hit the ball so badly in a while. Shady, right, we landed here. I’m just glad we hit it right cuz I would have been short. Now we’re in the bunker. We’ve been finding a lot of bunkers in this place. Water long if I hit it too long. So you know exactly what I’m going to do. Aim for it to be short and just get myself a birdie here. I mean a par here would be great. Trickle on. Trickle on. Trickle on. Trickle. Decent shot. Not too bad. We’ll take that. Let’s go. Okay. Pot here. Um, left a bit of meat on this bone. Let’s see what we can do here. It’s a right to left. So, pace is everything though. Yes. Come on. Come on. Exactly. Yeah. Woo. You wanted it. But now imagine if you had given it more pace. Hey, hey, hey. Stroke one hole. This is the most difficult hole here. It’s quite long. It’s probably like 400 and something all uphill. Um, yeah, driver in hand. Bunker there on the left is definitely in play. I’m going to tee this one I think a bit lower than I normally do. And let’s go. [Music] Ah, it’s not cutting. Kick right hard. Do it for daddy. Okay, give me a gap. Hopefully, I’ve got a gap to go to the green cuz it’s still quite far. But let’s go. I came here to the to the left. Um, got a tree in front of me. So, I don’t know if trees are 100% air or am I playing a slice. I think I’m just going to play a slice. Six iron in hand. Let’s see what we can do here. Oh, is it slicing? Kick right. Kick right. Kick right. Oh, sit. It’s on the green. Sit. Sit. Oh, shady. Oh, it’s at the back in the back bunker there. Oh, what a good shot. Right, guys. I don’t know how my six iron went that far. It never does go that far. So, we are here uh at the back bunker. Got it downhill as soon as it gets on the green or middle of the green. Uh I’ve been finding bunkers today. So, hopefully I know how to play them. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Sit. Not in the other bunker, please. That’s the worst bunker shot I’ve hit today. But we keep it moving. We out the bunker. Let’s go next. Go. Yeah, I think that was decent speed control. Yeah, it’s right next to the whole tap in for bogey. And let me just tap it in. So keep it rolling for me, sir. Yeah, good tap in bogey on a stroke one. Not too bad. Um but yeah, it’s been amazing. Make sure you guys subscribe to the channel. Like I said, also subscribe to What a Shot. Um that is Shadre’s channel. He’s got exciting content coming up. So yeah, on to the next hole. All right, let’s get this on the fairway and we are in the money. Kick left for daddy. Kick left for daddy. It’s going right, but it should be fine. Oh, yes. Oh, I think it cleared the bunker. Oh, it should be in the fairway. Love that. Let’s go. Yo, I hit a 9 iron. 130 something to the front. I’m going to use your 8 iron again. So, I lost an eight iron, guys. If if you guys find an 8 iron at Huddle and it is Tailor Made M2s, please uh return it back to me. That’ll be really nice. But yeah, I’ve got about 155 to the flag. It is on the far left. They tucked it in like crazy. I’m going for the middle of the green. Nothing else. Thank you. I’m going to take an eight. I want I wanted to take a seven, but an eight I think will be perfect for me here. A bad shot. Kick right. Oh god, that’s in the bunker. That was a terrible shot. All right, this is hole number six, by the way. Hole number five as a stroke three. This is a stroke five. Par three, 130 to the flag. Water in front of us. All we want to do is just be on the green. Now that would be super nice. But it is a hole in one chance too. It’s just drawing but not enough. Go. Yeah. Pin high. Going for a birdie there. Let’s go. We made it over the water. That’s all that matters. Now we’ve got a birdie putt. We have no birdies today. Zero. Zero birdies. Could it happen here? I think so. Very good chance. Left to right. I mean right to left. Very, very good chance. Up the hill. M. It’s turning and going. Oh my god. Oh, I hit it way too hard. Sir, yes. Come on. That’s a par right there. I’ll take that every day. I almost thought it was a bogey, guys. On to the seventh hole. Let’s go. Okay, so if you come to hole number seven, um it used to be a par four, but it goes all the way down there and goes dog leg left. But it’s going to be a par three today because there’s maintenance there in the front. But you’re going to see the maintenance. I’ll show you what it looks like. They’re making some improvements to the course. So, okay. So, this is under construction also. And there’s the hole right there. It looks like it’s over. Yeah, it’s on the green. Sit back of the green. It’s fine. Woo. Take that. It’s going to turn right and go into my other ball. Hit it. Okay. If I just hit it. Ah. All right. Bogey. It is what it is. So, I’m trying to get over these bunkers. Yes. The way they put this thing is so weird. Is this a par four? Surely. Surely. Yeah. I was about to say surely. This is Okay. Hole number 17. Par five. It looks long. I was like, there’s no way this is a par four. It looks long. The pin is like, it’s a red flag. It’s there. Hole number eight. Hole number eight. Yeah, hole number eight. Two more holes to go, guys. Hang in there. We’re trying to break 85. And secretively, we’re trying to break um I mean, we’re trying to break 90, but secretively we’re trying to break 85. So, let’s go for it. Driver in hand. Two more holes left. Two paws here would be ideal. [Music] Great drive, but it’s going to the left. Kick right. Oh, no. No. Into that bunker there on the left. [Music] Great strike though. Yo, that was dicey. That was I’m about 147 to the middle and I think it’s 160 to the back. 160 something to the back. We know this might go long. From what we’ve seen in my other shots, this might go very long. Oh, these draws that I’m getting. Oh, bunker again. Yeah, just like that. I didn’t get enough spin, but it’s on the green for a par. Yeah, that wasn’t my best bunker shot, but um it’s out. I think Yeah, us amateurs, you just want to get out the bunker. I mean, if you get it near the pin, great. But you just want to be out. Straight down the hill, right to left. It should be perfect speed and I’ll be happy. Oh, it’s going in the hole, please. Come on. That’s a power right there. Let’s go. One more hole. Yes. I didn’t even see that at all. Okay. Oh, I thought I hit it straight. Oh, okay. There it is. Running. Woo. I didn’t see that. The same here, bro. Last few shots of the day. I can hardly see anything. 52 in hand. Let’s see what we can get here. Oh, it’s along the floor and it’s gone over the green into the bunker there. This is going to be super hard. Oh my god. Okay, that’s in the hole. Absolutely amazing. It’s been a great time here at um Glend Dawa Country Club. Uh make sure that you guys book your round here. Absolutely amazing. Make sure you subscribe to my channel. Also, subscribe to What a Shot. I’ll leave a link in the description, but absolutely amazing. I think we broke 90, but I’m going to tell you guys now. All right, boys and girls. Well, we broke uh two of our goals today. First, it was break 90, which we absolutely smashed it. But the secret goal of breaking 85 also happened because we got 84. Got a double here, which wasn’t so great. But in total, we got 84 here at Glenda. I smashed my handicap, which is of 16. So, I was supposed to get 88, but absolutely amazing day. Absolutely a great game with Shadrach. So, I’m super happy, guys. Make sure that you subscribe. Make sure that you look out for more videos from me. Hit the like button. All those types of things. 1. Why doesn't Shadrack make it onto camera any more? Glendower – what a course. Think the 2nd is my favourite hole in all of Joburg golf. Such an intimidating tee shot.
