Copperhead Course at Innisbrook

Coastal Georgia Mariners Men’s Golf team heads to Palm Harbor, Florida on Sunday, Sept. 28, to compete in a 20-team tournament hosted by Dalton State College at the Innisbrook Golf Resort, “Central Florida’s Premier Golf Destination.” The event will be held on the Copperhead Course, a 7,209-yard layout ranked as the seventh hardest course on the PGA TOUR.

The Mariners enter the tournament with momentum, having recently placed third at the 15th Annual Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational. Coastal Georgia finished behind Reinhardt University and Blue Mountain College, but ahead of the (then-No. 4 ranked) Innisbrook host school, Dalton State.

Head Coach Mike Cook is looking forward to the challenge. “It’s a strong field with 20 teams – many of them nationally ranked – so it’s a good indication of how we stack up,” said Cook. On the course conditions, he added, “It’s a tough track. We’ve got 36 holes on the first day and 18 on the second, so we’re gearing up for it.”

The tournament promises to be a test as the Mariners look to strengthen their standing within the Sun Conference and NAIA.
