on the tea from Ireland. Shane Lowry, lovely [Applause] on the tea. The Rolex Series winner at the DP World Tour Championship. He’s the Masters Champion from Northern Ireland, Rory Maroy. Looking at them. It’s nice seeing Master’s Champion. I think I’d have preferred to hear Grand uh Grand Slam winner. Excellent in second from Maroy. Yeah, we’re safe [Applause] speed. Well, it wasn’t actually, was it? It didn’t move. It looked like it was going quite quickly down the hill. That’s a solid part. Unfortunately, he’s just hit it through the break. Obviously, he’s left himself a little nasty one for his part. in Saturday. It’s an opening four at least which many would take. It was a good one to hold even though it’s only three four feet. Very nice. Best we’ve seen today. so far. Go. Well, it’s probably the right distance. Just pushed it special. So they’re ranked number one in bunkers. I think he’s only been in one. It was left early. Looks to be him and maybe on the right hedge. Oh, very nice. [Applause] First cut. It’s fine and dandy. Off it goes. Maroy. will find the freeway over on the right. So left half is fine naturally. It’s on the green. But that will be an interesting putt for Larry. Seven iron launched high into the sky. Absolutely stick high. Birdie may be coming back his way. Magnificent. Not easy to get that base right over that hill. standing straight in the middle. Michael gets the four. Pours that one in for his first birdie of the day. [Music] Certainly has Jamie. It couldn’t be more down the middle. The Lions have run. Yes, Jimmy. It’s heading over there. Depends on the light. He’s got a good angle, but not much else. I’m hearing ah from him. Yeah, that’s why. Oh, at least we get to look at this exquisite shark game. [Music] Ah, maybe even a better shot game to watch. Almost perfect call from Jamie. Just didn’t get enough spin on it. He really is a genius. Shane makes it look beautiful and Rory makes it look simple. Excellent. Got them all right. Vard it several times this week. One under through the first four holes here over the West Course is around about right. You’d be reasonably pleased with yourself if you got off to that sort of start. [Applause] I don’t know if you noticed it, David. He seems to be a little bit shorter in the back swing and a little bit wider. He’s holding his wrists a bit firmer at the top. identical. That’s for three in a row. That’s for three in a row. Oh, that was so close. Beautiful button from Maroy. Not quite falling in. I was listening to a podcast last night and uh Eddie Pepper was talking about how surprised he was that Mroy has become a better putter the older he’s got because generally what you see is it goes the other way. That’s what it’s going to all be about, isn’t it? In two weeks time, who can sink the pots? [Applause] [Music] They like it behind but they were wrong. Little unlucky but it’s only front half of the bunker. He won’t have a problem getting to the green. I don’t think Jeremy will let us know when there’s a look. Ideally, presumably to this pin, you’d want to be snuggling down that left hand side if possible alongside his mate. It did stay left. Just the right amount. Bit of spin. Helpful for Larry. Such a bad. You heard them muttering there. Such a bad lie. I hate to say it is a hazard. Oops. Oops. Perhaps he should have done peeled off about six 7 ft right that for bogey. [Applause] Lovely stroke. Little wrap straight in the middle. A tale of two lies. That was, wasn’t it? Larry is a good one down the three. Maroy may well end up taking six. Just the one. There is such a thing as a good bogey. That was possibly it. Threewood down the hill. Seven peering to the right. Bit more room there than you think. Oh, don’t stop there for goodness sake. Yeah, Trackman showing just 87 feet or so on the flight. So, that was a nice piercing metal wood for Maroy. Go straight at it. Tada. Yeah, there’s going to be a very big difference between where that landed and where it ends up. Trackman following the flight. Oh, but the result is going to be even further back perhaps. [Applause] Terrific. Lovely view of the new putting griff of Shane Larry Rider Cup special. Luke Donald and he himself will be hoping that that rolls of all nicely at Beth Page. I’m sure it will. Well navigated from down there by both he and Mroy. [Applause] [Applause] 300 y through the air with a 3-wood. Yeah, fair middling at best for Larry. A cautious approach to the ape, but that’s okay. You haven’t got to take every hold on. Sounded crisp. Oh no. That’s the shot he wanted yesterday down onto the bottom level yesterday. He found the top level. Mind you, he hold the putt. He did. Delicately gripped as always from Larry. Nothing delicate about the role. It was pure and all of a sudden putting a good day together. Nice fence sitting from Spence. Oh, do you know what your gut feeling was right? It so often is, Jamie. It was slow and a hair from the ride. [Applause] just out of sync. We saw him on the range this morning warming up and we didn’t see a single move like that. sort of that low finish that he gets just into that little step cut. Oh, this is extraordinary. This is It’s like a tunnel. Oh, it’s right through it, too. What a golf shot. What a golf shot, Jamie. My goodness me. No, that was amazing. Shame it’s gone through the back, but what a golf shot. It’s going. No. Is that it? Is that it? Somebody’s just found the ball and he’s praying it’s not his. Oh, he’s got to go back if it is his, Jimmy. And that is not good. That’s it. Oh, it is his. Oh, goodness me. And just he tried to he tried to tell him that I can’t find don’t leave it. Leave it and then suddenly said here it is. It’s your worst nightmare. From hero to zero in about two seconds that chap. There were his divots. Safe to say he’s dropped it in the right place. Gone for it again. See it? Yeah. Incredible shot there and four. our second feature game’s making a bit of a mess of nine. It’s not going to get there. Yikes. Two points gained for Shane. You’re playing stable for golf. [Applause] Go. And it did. Good shot. Easy putt up the hill right to left. It’s a great shot. Did well to stay there. I have to be honest. But great shot now. Good chance. Just hung out there. I should have turned left but didn’t. He starts right there. [Applause] [Applause] ooze and ass. And that’s what you do when you watch Maroyy’s drives. It’s quite extraordinary how far he’s hit that there. [Applause] Yes, camera person just wanting to pan right to try and locate Maroyy’s ball. Settle. further left. Yes, Rory. Yikes. Beautiful touch. Gives himself a chance to save his part. It’s tracking should be a regulation one and is trophy. David Hal also has his name on [Applause] Well, that should work. That’s a better follow through from Shane. Surely has prevailed his straight. Trackman says it has compared to the swings we saw on the range. just a little shorter and quicker, which is, you know, a common trait. Started to draw it in from the right. Is it perfect? Oh, it’s not. We’re damn near it, but not quite. Just wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. What an attribute to a game. Fantastic. He got the ball first. Fairly accomplished. And he finds another birdie. Two cents the turn for Mroy. [Applause] And in it goes. If that chap the tea works at the airport and he’s not marshalling here. I’m very good at that. That one’s a keeper for Shane Lowry. Right down that right half as well. Perfect. Stick height. Not so bad. Just a touch of left to right in the birdie putt. slid the blade across the ball nicely there. Just a hint of fade. Superb. Love the way he just stands behind and stares at the putt. Where am I going to start this? And he just wanders in and attempts to do just that. It’s a wonderful run at the start of this back nine for Maroy. running. It’s too firm. Hit that dead straight and have gone in. It’s softer. It might have gone in. Didn’t take the break. [Music] Just left. Yeah, it’s horrible. Well, well, he’s trying. I mean, it’s nine iron 20 yards left, you’re raging. I’m going to call a hole in one again. Perfect distance. Can he hold another one? Go on. Go on. Go on. Oh, Rory. Bit more pace. It would have a good chance, but just the part birdies he needs. You were spot on, Jamie. Shane didn’t see it. [Applause] [Music] It’s a beastly hole when it’s into the breeze. It’s been a kind win for the players this week from the southwest having the ball down this par four. [Music] Beautiful. [Applause] [Music] Nudged down there somewhat by Shane. Paid [Applause] That’s been the more common choice. Is it going to draw back onto it? No, not quite. Straight to the heart of it. Whoever said that’s a three paces off the left edge has very small steps. See if he can dial it in. creep in the top 12. You never quite know how things are going to pan out with these blustery conditions. They take a turn for the worse. The scoring clearly won’t improve. just doesn’t fall left at the end. Once you get to this kind of section, it’s all a little bit more predictable windwise, generally helping. Yes, it funnels right down the channel with all the holes pretty much playing in the same direction. 13 through 17. Turn the corner a little bit to make the journey back to the clubhouse on the 18th. So far as well. Yeah, they’re the ones that you can lose it so easily when you’re just nudging it down the fairway. We’ve got you rolling now. Those are fun to watch. He’s got 30 35 yds run on that. Oh, it’s preferred lines anyway. It’s just gone in a divot. took off straight online according to Trackman. Just dug its heels in a touch on the green. Dug its heels in. threw it backwards. It was like a trampoline. The green. There it is. Marches onwards. That’s his six under. Alas, no cheer for Shane. He’s besting Rory so far today though. Four under V3 under. Playing for bragging rights amongst themselves. You spoke of Rory’s record. His last five starts. His worst placing’s been ninth. Three of those have been runnerups as well. Pretty much owned Wentworth. Certainly owns a slice of it. Lives nearby. [Music] Perfection, Terry. Perfection. [Music] Lovely drive. Amazing how golf viewings changed. Used to be the periscopes, wasn’t it? Years ago, they try to get a bit of a player. Picidilly here at World Match Play [Applause] 171. Trackman telling us there on the ball speed. The main part was it was arrow straight. Oh no. It’s the same as 18 yesterday, I have to say. And hopefully it didn’t hit the cart path. Oh, I hate where they’re looking to go. Driving iron. Let’s drill it in low. We turn it over. He’s blocked it a wee bit as well. Will it get a bit? No. It’s okay though. And just stop very quickly and give a lovely angle down to that bin. Look at the wind. Hard down off the right. It was perfect for Michael Roy. I think he he’s looked at where to drop it. So, it’s not dropping is not a great option. Yeah, the driver’s coming out. No, it’s drivers out. The driver’s out means measuring it. I think it’s just too risky. Guess [Music] you were panicking. That’s it. Hit it. It was his club that hit the tree and he heard that crack straight away after he hit it. Well, that’s horrible. He’s going to chip that in. It would be nice. I love the way he takes things like that. Never any change in his demeanor. Just gets on with it. That’s the only way to be out there. Yeah. All in his stride. And they’re all watching Shane. One’s racing. That’s actually something I learned from my early years on tour, watching the likes of you and many others of your era. How the good players, they got on with it. They really did. Yes. They got angry. Jesus for birdie it is to get to minus 8 and unfortunately it is short. It’s what happens. Ah, come on, Roy. Knock it in. No, just pushed it. These last two holes. Four. Seven. I think Excellent drive. Brave and beautifully executed as it’s trying to draw. It’s not drawing enough, I don’t think. Perhaps it is just Yeah, trying to cut it in. Jamie, it’s got the bunker. So, not too bad. Still very difficult bunker shot. Straight at it. has come up and look shy, but it’s dry and it’s an eagle putt. It’s not that open, is it? Don’t think he tried that. Obviously not. Stay in there. That’s not I mean I don’t think tried to land it in there. Could be a better note to finish on for Maroy. Can he? Just a fraction firm. That would have turned left if it been a wee bit softer. Take a sharp turn to the left, you would think. All right, which he makes double bogey in the end and he was hoping for a sea of red on the way in. So that is a round of 68 for Larry, who’s the best of that three, round of 70 for Maroy, and a round of 73. To watch another DP World Tour video, click here. And to subscribe, click here.
