Every two years, 24 of the best players from Europe and the United States go head-to-head in match play competition. The European Team are the reigning champions after winning at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in 2023. Drama, tension, incredible golf, camaraderie and sportsmanship are served in equal measure, captivating an audience of millions around the world. What other memories do you have from from your first one and then whistling strains? My first one, uh, Tiger telling me to hit the first T-shot like elf national. Tiger Woods and Bryson Deambo representing the US in match three. I didn’t know what to do or or think. I was I was very much thrown in the fire. playing with Tiger was very nerve-wracking for me. Um, he’s an intimidating guy and I love the guy and think he’s amazing, but it was it was wild to see uh how everybody reacted and treated us obviously being overseas and that that was my my biggest memory was playing with Tiger on the first te. Oh, yeah. And then another one was was Phil Mickelson. He wasn’t playing that great then and he goes, “Bry, I I just need a pep talk right now. You need to give me a pep talk.” as as a veteran the second most winning golfer in our era like for me to give him a pep talk down the third fairway I was like this is so wrong the roles have been reversed what’s going on that was nuts um first he shot was incredible whistling straits when I hit that shot and rose the putter up I was like this is it this is this is this is what golf’s all about [Music] 340 to the front end of the green. Giving it a go. Why wouldn’t he b this match McG is on the green much to the delight of the thousands around it. When uh when we walk out there this time, I want I want the people that I have alongside me to be super comfortable. I don’t want I want them to feel like they’re a part of the show and they deserve they need to be here. This is where they’re at. This is this is their show as well. Not not mine. It’s it’s our show. It’s what we’re going to do to to win the RDER Cup. That’s it. It’s about every single individual being the best they possibly can be and how you team people up together to make us better. And that’s it. And that energy is palpable.
