Mountain Golf + Illegal Pin Positions 🫣 Golfing with Gen @ Berjaya Hills Golf Club
[Music] [Music] Welcome back to a brand new crosswalk, guys. Today we are at Vaya Hills Golf Club. It’s about an hour drive from KL. I haven’t played here in a really long time, so let’s see how we do. [Music] [Music] You can definitely tell that we’re no longer in the city. Super pretty. What the heck? It was so quick. I barely touched it. How is this going to the right? Come down here. It went the other way. What the heck? Well, the first thing the marshall said to me was that the greens here are pretty crazy. So, I can see why. Like, I didn’t I barely tapped that. But, I think it’s just one of those where it’s really hilly and the greens are not in super good condition. So, it’s bumping a lot. So, yeah. I don’t think putting is going to be um I’m going to worry myself too much with putting today. Start. That was pretty much hitting out of rocks rather than sand. So I declare that if I hit into the bunkers and it’s going to scratch up my club, I’m not hitting it. [Music] Like this is literally an insane slope. [Music] That looks pretty good. [Music] You have to see what just happened, right? I passed. He lit the hole, went up here, came back into the hole. Oh my god. That’s what you call illegal pin. [Music] So, I think some of you might be wondering why playing in a golf course where the putting green makes it so difficult to like actually counter score. But like to be honest, as a professional golfer when every single score counts and like almost in a way it’s almost like your value as a as a professional golfer, it’s refreshing every now and then to play rounds where you can actually not think about the score, which is really really hard to do. So yeah, we’re out here on a holiday. It’s a public holiday in Malaysia. It’s Malaysia day actually. So we’re just here to play holiday golf and enjoy ourselves and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Yeah. don’t don’t. Okay. Playing this course without knowing the course is a little bit tricky. This one looks narrow and looks like there’s a hazard there. But if I look at this, I can see that you need like a 200. Well, you can’t see it now. You need like a 200 yard 200 m drive. So, I think I’m going to go through instead of driver. [Music] Normally, I would opt to chip in a lot of situations, but on this green, I think it’s better to keep the ball as close to the green as possible. So, I’m going to putt. in the hole. Yeah. All of the tea boxes are like not flat and everything. Put the tea. It’s like sitting up or sitting down. And I just hit a very beautiful like chunky driver straight down the center of the fairway. Wow. Wa wa wa. I told you. Bye. Okay. All right. Yay. So this hole we’ve got a short path forward. It’s playing 286 to the pin. So I’m just going to hit driver. And I don’t know what’s up there, but doesn’t look like much. So hopefully it gets pretty close to the green. No bounce. Random pawn in the middle of the fairway. from rain. Oh, stop stop. The hardest part about playing a course like this is not the T- shots. Well, the T-shots really narrow, but it’s not the approach shots, but the shot game. because normally I’m really confident with my chipping. Um I know it’s going to like take one hop and then spin and etc. But here I have no idea. Sometimes it’s firm, sometimes it’s soft. So you just kind of have to do what you think it’s going to do. I think this is when the saying hit and pray comes into play. Well, I’ve made like three buddies. going to reach the bunker. Why do I never see the ball land somewhere in the direction that’s left of the bunker? So, my ball got plugged in this thing here in the mud. I was like, why can’t I see the ball land? My eyesight is not that bad. Like I literally have Lasic. Got Lasic. That was like pure mud. Look at that. Oh, my dad’s ball ended up just short and look where it is. He’s in the water. [Music] Oh my god. [Music] Where my firewood? Oh man. I know I said I would part most of it, but like how am I supposed to part through that? like I was trying to carry it past that. But yeah, now I’ve got a tough paradise. We’ve got 119 yards. Little bit into the wind. I’m going with pitching wedge. Not sure if this green is going to be firm or soft. I’m thinking like 115 carry. And anything leave ourselves an uphill putt. So, we’ll see how it goes. Oh man. Well, that was straight mud. Straight mud, guys. Oh my god. Look at this. It’s honestly so soggy. The bottom is like mud. It’s not even like wet grass. It’s like mud. It doesn’t look that bad. Oh gosh. Guys, do you want to see where my ball ended up? So, obviously, because I kind of chunked it, right? It was short. It hit up there and rolled into this. Am I going to find my ball? That’s the question of the day. It’s not a good day to wear white. I found it. [Music] Fightless. Yay! Hard nine hole. Oh, I’m in the hole. In the fairway hole. Whoa. Almost in the other hole. Almost hold the hole. I think I may have laid up a little bit too close again. And that’s one of the things about par fives. All the par fives here so far has been like that was 273 273 playing 260 with the slope. So my 3wood only carries like 220. So I knew that I was not going to get it like close enough to like try to go for it. But now that I see where my 7wood went, I think a 3wood would have been a better option cuz I would be chipping. Right now I’m kind of like pitching. So a little bit of an awkward distance especially to this pin. I have to carry those um the bunker things in front. Not easy to stop the bonus greens, but we’ll see what we can do. Is it going to be really good or it’s going to bounce over? I knew it was going to be a bit over. It’s just no spin on the screen, so really hard to like control those distances. But I’m happy with that shot. We’ve got a bird pack. Oh, beautiful. [Music] I can’t see too much of the fairway, but I think I have to go up there like on the left side. So, this is going to be interesting. walking there. They all walk backwards. So on t-shots like that, it’s really important cuz I obviously I don’t know this cost either, but like without being able to see the fairway, it’s sometimes really hard to commit to the shot. So you’ve just got to like if you know that’s where you need to hit it, you just have to trust yourself. And that’s often the most difficult thing to do in golf. Trust yourself and trust your instinct. Now I’m center fairway with kind of like a chip shot to the green. [Music] My balls just getting like plugged. Even on a ferry, it’s getting so much mud. It’s crazy. Hey, [Music] should be good. I must say the greens on this back n are way better. Like they look so much smoother. So I think maybe they did the back n before the front n and the front n is still recovering. Of course, right when I say the green is good, my ball bumps bumps off line. It’s okay. We still made a par. Pars are good out here. Another weird hole. It’s like 388 m though, so I don’t feel like I should hit anything less than a driver cuz I’m going to have super long club in. But I don’t know how big the fairway is. So, I guess we’ll find out. Hopefully that’s on the fairway. So, I actually needed to cut the corner even more. Did run out of fairway a little bit, making this whole bit longer, but we’re still in play. We’ve still We’ve got a long ways to go, though. We’ve got like 184 playing 180. So, I think I’m going to go five iron. I mean, for this whole try to get in green would be good. That was a bogey, but I think that this is probably one of the other holes on this Of course, it was also long, so it’s okay. We’ll take a bogey sometimes. Not the end of the world. Oh, I Oh, no. Don’t go down the thing. Stop. Oh. [Music] Hi, it’s party safe. So, Buket Dingi is actually located in Pahang, which is another state. I’m from Koala Lumpur, so it took about 1 hour to get here. Um, but overall, it only costs, I think, 110 ringgit. And they have specials for ladies and seniors as well. So, I would say it’s pretty value for money. like the course isn’t in great condition, but if you’re just out here wanting to play some golf, um I wouldn’t really say it’s beginner friendly because it is definitely very undulating. The t-shirts are not easy. So, yeah, but definitely worth a worth a shot to come and try. [Music] [Music] Oh no, there’s like a slope and it went off the slope and it came spun all the way back down. I think that became from like a 15footer to like a 75 footer now. Last hole, part five. Let’s see if we can make one more birdie. So, I’ve got 220 playing 214 with the slope into the wind. Little bit of a push with how much hazard I have to cross, but it’s the last hole of the day. Let’s go for it. I just need the headwind to stop like right about like now. Not quite sure. I think I can stop the ball here. The ball’s not going to stop here. and come back. Yeah, but if I go right, it’s going to go all the way down. You got the other go. Did you see the curve? Yeah. Wish that had dropped, but still a really fun day at Bukit Tingi. Thank you guys for watching. Don’t forget to like and subscribe to his

what I learned:
A great attitude makes the best of a course like this. 😉
Your putter is now longer than your driver !! ( Pencil grip was best for you )
Laughing at your Dad’s misfortune makes these days priceless.
Lasik eyes helps fishing out of flooded bunkers Lol.
More posts like this humbles us all.
White looks great on you regardless of mud splatter 🙂
Great vlog Gen, always a good day when you post ! And that putting stroke looks puuuuure 😃😁
4:40 putt …… got hantu ……
Nice one! I played here 1,5 months ago. Do they still have the unlimited golf promo?
Wow you can play so jelious amazing swing 💪🏻
putting ada backspin masuk hole after a lip out 😅🤣
Central Illinois needs some of that rain, we've been dry for weeks!
ahh yes, the “rice terraces of vietnam” at home version punya course 🤣
solid ball striking…beautiful course but looks like rain damage to tees and bunkers…but the greens, meh…that's mountain golf for you…and not the day for a white outfit!
Great vid as usual. Liked the back spin on the putt. Knew you changed your putter but didn’t realise it was an arm lock one. Has it improved your already good putting to a higher level? Especially on tour?
2nd hole – whaaaat?
Love the vlogs – miss Malaysia
thank you for putting meters & yards , as someone who uses yards often but see videos with only Meter 🙂
🙏❤️
wow that 2nd hole putt was insane, never seen something like that LOL
When am I going to get an invite to these fabulous course?
Hahaha best gila berjaya hills..!!!
I'm surprised you leave the stick in when putting. I get so annoyed when my ball hits the stick and pops out.
Love the bum wiggle, but why? Great playing though!!
First time seeing Gen fishing for ball in "the pond" 😂😂😂
Like the cool breeze and the view. Was there a few months back when it wasn't raining that much… Happy Malaysia Day 😊
your outfits are so amazingly sexy…….that smile send us over the edge. You have white something on your cheek. 15:32 wow so cute.
the second hole putt that lips out and gets back in happened to me one time (Horizon HIlls) but you got it on camera as a proof 🙂
The hole 2 putt was really interesting.😁
vid quality is awesome…your swing tempo is admirable..i'm surprised u hit in the bunker at 2nd hole..no sand only rock pebbles..very challenging course
good attitude and nice swing golfer
Your spun back with a putter, that's funny!
Hi Gen! Noticed you are using the labgolf with armlock putter. Would like to ask, what is the lie angle that you chose? And also, how long did it took you to get the putter ya?
Was thinking today that I hadn’t seen a YouTube video of Gen for a long, long time, and here she is!
### Backswing
* Take the club straight back — don’t force it inside.
* Let the arms fold naturally as the club rises.
* Keep your **lead (left) shoulder over the ball**, not drifting behind it. This keeps your spine centered.
—
### Downswing
a) Transition & Slotting
* As you start down, let the trail (right) palm rotate upward — like it’s facing the sky — and keep it in that cocked position.
* The **hips begin turning**, which helps the hands drop into the slot.
* The lead (left) arm pulls down**, while the **right palm, wrist, and elbow form a “V” as they move together.
* This V-shape keeps the right arm compact and allows the club to approach from the **inside path**, not over the top.
* Important: Do not release the right arm early. If the right arm unhinges, the club will come over the top.
* With the right arm locked in its V-position, the body naturally unwinds to bring the club into hitting position under control.
b) Impact Zone
* At impact, **activate the trail palm**:
* Slightly roll it over so the **index finger supports the back of the shaft**.
* Keep the **thumb pointing down the target line**.
* This controlled roll prevents the clubface from recoiling open and ensures solid compression with body support behind the strike.
c) Half Pose (Post-Impact)
* Train a “half pose” drill — hold the finish right after impact.
* This builds awareness of how the clubhead rotates through the zone.
* Whoever controls the impact zone rotation controls the entire golf swing.
d) Ball Focus
* Keep your eyes fixed just left of the ball for a count of five after contact.
* This keeps your head stable and prevents an early pull-up.
* Remember: golf is a side-on strike — the palm must rotate through, or the body will jump forward instead of staying behind.
drill list (like “towel under right arm,” “half-swing slot drill, Speed stick training to pose after impact,” etc.)
GEN GEN GEN ! Its been long time !
Pin position on 18 was brutal 😂. Maybe not the best condition but the course looked fun and lovely views.
the 2nd hole pin was freaky………..supernatural forces? Its Ghost Month afterall
😁
So good to see you Gen 😊, Congratulations on your sponsorship. Karen from Cincinnati Ohio!
Good game, after the game did you try the Japanese food 🍱 ?
Very impressed with how clean you stayed. White wasn’t probably the best choice
I could be your caddy, boyfriend, husband .
We need more Malaysian Course "Golfing with Gen"! Is been a while we get home course guides.
A pristine tee, fairway, and green could make your videos very popular. You need the right golf courses with fancy cameras and right angles Genevieve.
Hong Ji-woo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=301j_uTPYLw – swing is so good i downloaded the video after ben hogan
because this is swing i want people to copy.
No Fuz swing. No nothing.
클럽별 스윙 / 웻지부터 드라이버까지 /홍지우 프로. <– this is the video. As youtube may remove links from comments.
Hong ji woo is her name. This is only video i found.
No Fuzz swing.
Its simple. its magic.
You make it look easy, tuff looking course for any wayward shots. Amazing forest/jungle location though, certain amount of AMSR in this video, quite relaxing to view
I think on the second putt the wind was pushing it to the right. There is no way you could have had a left to right putt both ways
sooooooo pretty
It's the vidieo in spaninish?
Ahh finally, you kept your work after that comment I made on your insta 😀
you have been spoilt at KLGC 😂😂🥰 coundent tell whether your dad enjoyed it or not thought, but nice to see you playing😍🤩
Sketchy greens and abhorrent fringes but you played well making a lot of difficult "come backers". A beautiful looking course that I would hate to walk, even if it's allowed. Thanks for sharing your round and even though I don't know your father he must be a great guy…
