FRANKLIN, Tenn. — The Richmond Spiders women’s golf team fired a 14-over 298 in the final round of the Mason Rudolph Classic Sunday to finish the 54-hole event in 13th place in a deep and talented 16-team field. Richmond’s 14-over Sunday was its best 18-hole score in the event and moved the Spiders two spots up the team leaderboard, with UR finishing at 49-over par — in front of Middle Tennessee (+53), Lipscomb (+55), and Georgia Southern (+63).

“It was a great experience playing in this challenging field,” said Spiders coach Calle Barlow. “We had a bit of a hard time getting putts to go in the hole, but I thought we handled ourselves so well and I’m excited to see where the rest of the fall takes us! This group is talented!”

Sophomore Katie Magner finished at 10-over par (223) to tie for 44th place, one shot in front of junior Maya Beasley, who tied for 49th. Both Magner and Beasley carded 3-over 74s Sunday.
